I was searching online for a Minecraft server that focused around roleplay, with a medieval topic. I enjoy roleplay, as I have a distinct interest in Drama and Theatre, also writing novels, fiction and narrative/descriptive. Minecraft roleplay mixes all these interests with gaming, which is also another hobby of mine. What is roleplaying?: Roleplaying is taking on the role of a character with a life story, interests and emotions etc. and immersing yourself into that character with others taking part. What is metagaming?: It is the use of out-of-character (OOC) info to affect your in-character (IC) experience. For example, if your character was about to go on a quest to kill a legend beast, lets say a dragon, you go AFK and browse the internet to find that killing this dragon will drop a golden crown when he’s slain. Then you go back to the quest, and your character says, “I will kill the monstrous beast and claim the crown for myself!” But how does your character know that this mythical beast drops a crown? They don’t, but you (OOC) do. What is power-gaming?: Power-gaming is when a player takes action against another player, and declares how it will turn out. For example, 'Iviras: Go to Hell! *Stabs Lithrandiel, he falls the the ground bleeding*' By saying 'He falls to the ground bleeding,' it doesn't allow him to make a movement, he has to do as Iviras said. If Iviras didn't say the second half of the *action*, he could've made his own choice as to turn away and stab back etc. In-Character Information Character’s name: Iviras Pinefrost Character’s gender: Female Character’s race: Elf/Mali’ Character’s age: 22 Biography: Long ago, Iviras used to live peacefully in the Silver City in Haelun'or, and her ancestry was mighty and royal. A human once wandered into the borders of the Silver City, and claimed to seek shelter. In the dark of night, he coincidently crept to Iviras’ sleeping chambers and tried to steal her priceless pendant, a treasure from far down the line of ancestors. She awoke and the Human attacked her, but Iviras retrieved a blade and defended herself. She wasn't trained too well in sword-fighting, so her intentions were to injure him enough to disarm him. She stabbed him, and unintentionally, pierced a lung. He died minutes later, and the noise of the fight drew guards’ close. When they found Iviras, she had blood on her hands and a guest dead in her bedroom. She was instant banished, kicked out through the gate of Haelun'or, and forgotten by the High Elves. Iviras tried to seek forgiveness of the Wood Elves in Laurir'lin, but the news had spread and already they'd heard of her 'Murder'. They too turned her away, and Iviras roamed wildly and alone for four months, almost starved and on the brink of death. She stumbled across a dense forest, that she'd heard of as 'Fiandria'. She decided to seek refuge beneath the trees. Caught by the inhabitants of the outskirts of the dangerous forest, she was taken to their leader and interrogated. Uncertainly, they took her in after hearing she was a banished High Elf, and gave her the chance to rebuild her life in the outskirts of the forest, but she had to agree to live with the Wood Elves, meaning a change of clothes and a change of hair colour. After a few hours, she agreed, and restarted her life. She was kept a close eye on, but Iviras had decided to be the new person, in a new home. She kept to herself, and became a strong archer, and quick footed, too. Her hair was dyed from pale white to hazel brown, and she left her white and blue silk clothing behind for wear of agility and peace; a soft, cream shirt, high, Elvish leather boots, and an autumn green vest. She hardly speaks to people, but is defensive and strong, a born leader underneath the quiet ways. With her bow and arrows, she climbs any tree and often thinks about her previous life. Will she ever return to the High Elves, to explain and seek forgiveness? Personality Traits: Quiet, shy and solemn. She doesn’t speak to others often, only ever small-talking with other Wood-Elves. Underneath, she’s strong, defensive and a natural leader. Ambitions: To overcome the fear of returning to the other High Elves, and leaving the safety of the forest for a while to see the world without fear, and meet/socialize with different races. Strengths/Talents: Archery- She never goes anywhere without a bow and a quiver of arrows. If she overlooks the lack of certainty, she could lead an army with the talent of leadership. Weaknesses/Inabilities: Talking to others. Sharing her fears and worries might help her overcome the fear of socializing, and bring out the talents hidden underneath. Iviras, when she was a High Elf, had a sheet of flawless white hair, fine as silk and soft as a feather. She wore a long, flowing white dress with pale blue detail and silver lining. When she moved to lived with the Wood Elves, she dyed her hair a soft, hazel brown. With all the running and climbing, her wavy hair is occasionally tangled in a knot. She wears a long-sleeved linen shirt that’s become the colour of parchment through age, and a yellowy-green tactical vest for safety in the wilderness of the forest. She wears soft, brown boots, of a Wood Elf make, intended for long distance running and climbing. She has high cheekbones and a tanned skin colour, even though it used to be pale when she lived with the High Elves. She has freckled cheeks, and her eyes adapted to the vibrant jungle-green of the Wood Elves territory. I would really like to join this amazing Roleplay Server, as what I’ve seen build-wise as a ‘Wandering Soul’ has impressed me. I’d love to join the community, and give whatever I can to it.
