What is roleplaying?: Roleplay is assuming the role of a character and collaboratively create stories. The outcome of those stories is created by following rules of Roleplaying, where an action can succeed or fail. What is metagaming?: Metagaming is using OOC or Out Of Character information, that your character doesn't know, and implement that information in the roleplay. For example, shift-clicking someone that you met for the first time. You see his name, and you say "Oh, hey John!". But the fact is your character doesn't know his name, only you as a real life person know that. What is powergaming?: Powergaming is doing unrealistic roleplay actions that don't allow your fellow roleplayer(s) to react or determine the outcome of that action and therefore it can ruin roleplaying experience for alot of people. Example: "John swings his fist toward Josh, knocking him out immediately". or "John runs to Josh, stabbing him in the back, emerging victorious". In-Character Information Character’s name: Thrain Kragdelver Character’s gender: Male Character’s race: Dwarf (Cave dwarf) Character’s age: 39 Biography (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.): Thrain was born in The Grand Kingdom of Urguan, Anthos. On his birth, his father Kolgon of Kragdelvers and mother Elgrubela of Amberhands (now a Kragdelver) who were happily married, received a precious gift from god. A son, who was to be a great warrior and a kind-hearted Dwarf, good representative of his own race. His father, Kolgon, was a blacksmith, experienced with crafting weaponry and armour. Because of his proffesion, Thrain was trained with weapons from his early year of 5. That was far from real training ofcourse, since he was too young and clumsy to hold a heavy sword or a weapon in his hand. The purpose of his early training was to get a feeling and make a special connection with weaponry he was given. Growing up, his father focused on his sons training, both physical and mental, more then anything else. Mental training was very important for his father, Kolgon, because he thought a mind is a stronger weapon than any other. Thrain grew physically stronger every day. When he got in his teen age, he started understanding the mental lessons his father was giving him all the time, and with time, he became braver, strong-minded, kind-hearted and most of all fearless. Even though he was basically a child, his understanding was much older and from his teenage years he already knew his life goal. With everyday he grew older, raised by strong-minded father, Kolgon, and a loving, warm-hearted mother Elgrubela. He could talk about anything with his mother, and she never judged him, but rather consulted him. Soon alot of people from his area knew his name, since he was helping others alot, which was another trait his father taught him. He respected everyone's decisions, he did not make different decisions based on racial difference and he was friendly towards everyone. Life was good, but short-lived for alot of people as year 1457 approached. After hearing that the flood is approaching, Thrain and his family evacuated out of Urguan, in search of the Cloud Temple, to save themselves. On their way they helped alot of people, each in their way. Kolgon, his father went from home to home, pursuing people to get out and take the most basic things with them. He was also searching around in case someone was trapped or too afraid to get out of the house. Elgrubela, his mother, tried to calm people down, and re-assure them everything is going to be alright. She helped carry the things, that were important for survival. Thrain was helping the sick people, and those who weren't able to survive alone, such as war veterans, who mostly lost a leg, sometimes both. He helped all who were unable to do it themselves. Sooner or later the flood had to come, and when it did, everyone just ran away in order to save themselves. The entry area was very crowded and it was moving slow, very slow. Alot of people thought they weren't gonna make it in time, so they started climbing the walls to find another way in. When Thrain saw that, he convinced his mother and father to do the same thing. First to climb Thrain, so he can help his parents climb up. He saw flood comming in very fast so he pursued his parents to quicken their pase. Father was the second to come up. Kolgon extended his hand in order to help his loving wife on the wall, when suddenly a wave of water hit thetemple. Everything went dark, all there was to hear was people screaming, but Kolgon was holding firmly on his wife. When he wanted to pull her up, he couldn't. He noticed that people started to grab his wife's legs in order to get on the walls. There was less and less time for Elgrubela because the water level kept rising and strong waves became even stronger. Soon enough, his wife told him to let her go, he can't save her. He was very stubborn about it, and didn't want to let go. Finally, what he made next made Thrain sad, but proud of his father. Kolgon jumped off the wall along his wife, so she wouldn't be alone in Khaz'A'Dentrumm, the Dwarven afterlife. Thrain teared up but stood his ground and did not cry. He was happy that he was son of Kolgen and Elgrubela of Kragdelvers. He just stood there, watching Anthos, his home, get swallowed in the depths of the ocean. Then he jumped down, went through the window of the temple and marched through the portal which led to Athera. There, he was lost in greave for his parents. Later, regaining his sences, he decided he will continue with his life goal, and be the best Dwarf his father could have imagined. (I may have said something wrong regarding the lore, thats because I dont understand the flood part fully.) Personality Traits: Honorable, strong-minded, kind-hearted Ambitions: To be one of the best representatives of Dwarves, being honorable, fair and merciful. He hopes to see the mighty Dwarven race on the peak again. Strengths/Talents: Good with weapons, heavy armour. Although he is not a good commander and tactician, he is very strong with inspiring words and a ferocious warrior, hardly affraid of anything as he wants to represent his race in the best light. Weaknesses/Inabilities: He does not stand being mocked or made fun of by others. He is very emotional and therefore makes decisions (mostly wrong) based on his current mood (anger, sadness...). Appearance (List the extra details of your characters appearance, IE; height & weight): He stands at around 1,5m (5 feet) tall, is quite heavy but not fat whatsoever. He is quite musculine, has brown hair and beard with braids so it does not interfere with his work.
