Artois Printing & Publishing Policy Update Notice Regarding Changes to Printing & Publishing Policies Due to the recent misuse of our open-door policy for the printing facilities, we have decided to revise our policies regarding printing, publishing, and the use of our press. Until now, our doors were open to all citizens of the realm. We have always believed in the importance of honest and principled expression, and thus allowed anyone to print books, papers, pamphlets, posters, and more using the press located in our cellar. This open policy extended especially to the adjacent school, giving students the opportunity to print their work and publish their studies. We are aware that we are among the very few—if not the only—printing establishments in the Crownlands. For this reason, we chose not to restrict access, placing our trust in the citizens not to misuse these resources for improper purposes. However, this policy must now change due to a breach of that trust, specifically the printing and distribution of the “Lady Truthfull” pamphlets. We strongly condemn these publications, as they lack any journalistic integrity and appear to be motivated solely by personal grievance and agenda. As a result, the printing press will no longer be open for unrestricted public use. We will continue to offer free printing services to citizens, but only by appointment. Those wishing to print papers, books, pamphlets, or other materials may request an appointment by leaving a letter in the bookstore mailbox or by contacting us via raven. The use of the printing press will remain free of charge. We sincerely apologize for this change in policy, but the current circumstances make it necessary. We warmly invite you to continue visiting our bookstore. In the coming weeks, we plan to expand our collection with returning classics as well as new titles being published for the first time. Etienne Halcourt for Mayor! The Campaign for Mayorship of Saint Godwinsburg for Etienne Halcourt To all great Citizen of the City of Godwinsburg ! Tis with great joy that I apply as candidate to be your Mayor! I very dearly love our great city and our community, as a journalist I get to engage with all of you. thanks to my Local newspaper, the Citizen Compass I get to listen to all of your stories, interviewing many of you already and sharing all these local stories with you, it is a job I love to do and will continue to do but I hope that I can do much more as a mayor, continuing to bring together our great community ! In addition with my Bookstore I provide you with books and studying helps for your children but also lecture for passtime and learning ! and of course thanks to the Artois Bank I am able to give out loans and funds to those who need them ! 1. Helping out the Boroughs of Saint Godwinsburg Financially The Early years have been difficult for everyone, coming to this new city, building up a new life. All that required hard work and a lot of money! This is also true for the Boroughs of the City and the great Houses in general. Boroughs are very expensive to maintain, costs are high for the Alderman managing them and of course the peoples renting in the Boroughs. My Hope is to ease the financial burden of the Boroughs through loan schemes. Helping out the Boroughs in these early years still while their still trying to find a footing. Once they do, the Boroughs will make more money than they cost and can lower the taxes to their residents or even use surplus to invest into the city! 2. Fill up the City Library at the Prince´s Institute & Support it The Prince´s Institue has established itself once more in the city, into great facilities ! great classrooms, grand halls and of course a library! Unfortunatly the Library is still lacking in books for students but also Citizens to read and use. This is something I want to change! Through my Bookshop of course but also through partnerships with the Northern Geographical Society but also other scholars around the world, get acces to books to display at the Library, filling it up so all citizens can enjoy it. I also hope to generally support the Prince´s Institute as it has been through trying times with fleeting Professors not attenting their classes. 3. Ensure Cheap school supplies for those that need them I care a lot for the young residents of our city, my bookshop being near the Prince´s Institute, I decided early on to ensure to create all kinds of schools supplies needed as well as useful books for students to learn with. As Mayor I would like to capitalize on that even more and provide even cheaper or even free school supplies to those who need them ! 4. Create a museum exhibit on Alban History A room is already set aside at the Prince´s Institute but nothing has been done yet, I want to fill that room up and make it into a great exhibit showcasing the History of Alba and that of Godwinsburg. Having such an exhibit will showcase our stories, our History to other visiting our City, and be a great magnet for tourism ! 5. Host grand events I am a very proud citizen of Godwinsburg like so many of you, I love this city and even as private citizen I want to do my part. As mayor though I could host grand events, to make us all proud of our city, mostly now with the season of festivities ahead I hope to showcase Godwinsburg as The City of festivities, decorated for the occasion and with great markets and the like for all to enjoy! 6. Listening to your needs The Most important part is listening to your needs as citizens but also the needs of the Boroughs and that of the Houses. My door will always be open and I will always try to accommodate projects and ideas that will benefit the city and its residents. So this is my bit to be mayor, that and of course so much more! , I am proud to be Alban, I am proud to be a Citizen in this City and I hope to help it and its citizens to be proud of this city! Strengthening our sense of Community and Pride of our City One of the reasons I created the Citizen Compass is exactly for that very same reason, I want my readers to be proud of their city, their region and read about local stories of local peoples! ___________________________________________________________________________________ Phillipp Flamel de Wittenbach for Bourgmestre Bourgmestre Candidacy of Phillippe Flamel for Bourgmestre of the Free City de Chambery-sur-Petra ___________________________________________________________________________________ To the Esteemed Citizens of Chambery, I hearby give my Candidacy as Bourgmestre of Chambery, following in the footsteps of my great uncle Nicolas de Wittenbach. I have many great but perhaps also radical plans for the City overall and a larger future for the city in these more uncertain times. Many projects had been decided upon in the past, within Chambery and Petra. But with the advent of a new Monarch many of these projects have been halted, prosponned or changed. Petra Capital City was already years ago supposed to be rebuild but yet still hasn´t been, it was what pushed Chambery to also seek to rebuild itself somewhere else, but as always the fate of both cities are linked and as one did not complete its project nor did the other. This is why I will run with a new platform and new ideas for the future of our City. The plan is simple, to slim down our city adminstration and workings, concentrating all powers around the Bourgmestre so that as Bourgmestre I can work on possible new paths for our city. One such path would be to merge together with Petra Capital city, forming a new Vassal Capital City under the crown. While this may sound radical, and I sure understand that it would surly just be a continuation of a long held relationship both Chambery and Petra Capital city of Vallagne always had. Both city have always been close, and in times such as these it makes sense to pull our resources and peoples closer together into one big city. I will ensure personally that such a merger will be successful and a new merged city will start with the right set of tools and local administration to be successful, active and of course a great Home for everyone to live in. However if you, the Citizens chose that this idea is too Radical and will not want to merge our city with our sister City of Vallagne, then I will of course take that into account and then instead re-enforce our own city Identity more and fully reform it and its administration to ensure its continued future. If I get elected my detailed plan will be as follows : 1) I will begin with slimming down Chambery leadership, removing any old councilors who are just there by title as well as fire any staff that hasn´t been working in a long time. 2) I will Slim down Chambery administration / revoke City Ordinances to concentrate all power around the Bourgmestre for effeciency. 3) I will cease any projects that had been ongoing or left abandoned for to long until further notice. 4) I will Contact the Crown and the Mayor of Petra to talk about the idea of merging both Chambery and the Capital City to create a new Vassal Capital City under the crown. I will ensure that all guilds from Chambery will keep their rights and freedoms in a new merged City, negotiating a fair deal for them I will Lobby for a fair City administration for this new merged city to run it as locally and independently as possible. I will Lobby to ensure the rights and freedooms and diversity of the inhabitant of the new merged city, making sure that everyone is welcomed and feels at Home. 5 ) I will Hold a Referendum on Merging Chambery together with the Capital City base on what was discussed/negotiated with the Crown. 6) If the Referedum doesn´t pass or the crown refuses to merge the cities then I will embark on a major overhaul of all the City administration, structures and leadership ! The city Will of course stay where it is and be continued to be worked on and advertised with more new events, working on attracting new guilds and merchants! in Conclusion : I know I am proposing some radical ideas, but I am doing so in hopes to bring two cities together that have always shared a destiny together, I want to see a big beautifull city that anyone can call their home, that is active, full of life and beautifull to walk through, something that its peoples can be proud of. I believe that we can achieve that together, though I promise even if we do not end up to merge the cities, that I will do my level best to ensure that Chambery will continue that ideal of being a great city to call Home.

With the pending retirement of the Bourgmestre Nicolas de Wittenbach, a new Bourgmestre of Chambery must be elected from among its residents. Thus, municipal elections as hencely open to individuals who meet the following requirements: 1) Bourgmestre - Eligibility : The candidates must be a citizen or Property Owner of The Free City of Chambery, either commercial or residential or a confirmed Celestial Trustee. - Election :Candides may give their candidacy for Bourgmestre but must be accepted as such by all the Guilds of Chambery. Once an official candidate they will be elected during an election by the Citizens of Chambery. 13th Conseille Municipal Meeting Notes Meeting was held on the year 204 SA in the Chambery Chateau des Civis Municipal Council Hall. Present where the Bourgmestre as well as several councilors and Citizens of the Free City. - The First Topic of the day was the Redquill College with a report from the Interim Headmaster Rhae´lin Ashwood who was put in charge by the city when the last headmaster of Redquill disapeared. The Interim Headmaster reported that they had contacted and talked to all the staff and teacher of Redquill and established a new teaching plan and prepared the start of new semesters. All in all the college is returning slowly to normal buisness and preperation for reforms will start shortly. - The second topic of the day was about the Gendarmerie, the last commander of the Gendarmerie Joa von Leopold resigned from his post and no new candidate has been found yet. While the role of the gendarmerie has always been important and their work crucial to chambery, it has always been difficult to recruit for it and make it work as a coherant force. Because of that it was decided to look for new solutions. First one that was decided upon was to abolish the Gendarmerie and ask for the Swords of Saint Emma to fully take over patrol duties in Chambery. For this the Bourgmestre has already gotten into contact with the commander of the swords of saint emma to see if this would be possible. Another solution would be to give members of the Hunters guild sheriff positions in the City and act as sheriffs in dangerous situations, like Demon or monster attacks or disputes. All in all was a very open heated topic, as of now contact has been oponed with the swords of Saint emma and other avenues of reforms will continue to be explored. - Third topic discussed was the protection against banditry, a lot of homes and buildings were broke into in the last years. It was proposed to remove or reduce window sizes to the absolute minimum, but the bourgmestre said that the city should not bow down to bandits and get rid of the homes largest and beautifull windows, instead it was decided to explore other avenues to protect homes better. - Another topic centered around descrimination, where in some peoples were attacked or deemed to be evil in chambery due to wearing a mask, while other up in Petra have also been able to wear masked but never been descriminated against. The concenrned Citizen was very unhappy about the experience descrimination of their friend and asked for laws or persecution, this topic was discussed and was pointed out that such laws do already exist in the Petran legal code and that if descriminated one should seek out the Petran legal code to fight against the descrimination. - The Last topic of the day was about incoming reforms for Chambery´s constitution. The Current constition is old and short. It was written quickly when Nicolas came to power and never designed as a permanant solution, more a quick temporary solution when building up the city. Now after several decades with it the good and the bad from it has been identified and a new constitution can be written. For that the Bourgmestre has asked all councilors and citizen present to bring in ideas and think about potantial reforms to be discussed at the next meeting. Several ideas were already proposed ranging from letting more citizens in at town meetings or having every new law voted upon by all Citizens. Solland Monastery Construction Update Painting of a Monastery in construction The Funds of 1000 Minas are secured and the planning permission as well as the construction permissions have been given! The construction of the Solland Monaster can begin! Construction will be lead by Lord Friedrich von Augusten, Magravate of Schwyz, as the architect and planner of the Monastery, The Wittenbach Charity foundation will hand over the 1000 collected Minas to the Lord von Augusten once the last preperation were made and construction will begin. What is now needed are builders! it is why we now seek out for anyone who wishes to lend their help to work on the construction of the Solland Monastery, to do so contact either Lord Friedrich von Augustens or contact Nicolas von Wittenbach.
