What is roleplaying?: Acting out a character in a (usually) fictional setting.
What is metagaming?: An act that is frowned upon where a roleplayer takes advantage of OOC information by using it In-Character even though their character wouldn’t have been able to know. Essentially breaking the fourth wall.
What is powergaming?: Another act that is frowned upon where a roleplayer forces acts or events unto other players without their fair consent or when a roleplayer plays their character as unrealistically powerful in a stubborn attempt to constantly “win”.

Biography:
In year 1498, Eilyn was born to Azalin and Eyla Eikenfi, a family of Wood Elves who lived near the Druid’s Grove. She was born shortly before the end of the Human-High Elves war. As such, Eilyn grew up hearing her parents talk about how the High Elves persecuted their kind and how the Humans helped them. At a young age, she didn’t really understand much about politics except to be wary of the arrogant High Elves and to be cautious of the unpredictable Humans. Her father was an explorer and though he would frequently leave to go on long journeys, the time they did spend together were happy. He taught Eilyn survival skills and would sometimes take her on shorter treks. Eilyn spent most of her time at home with her mother who was a gardener. She taught her daughter some herbalism as well as her own philosophy on the world which were greatly influenced by the Druids.
Eilyn became aware of the world at large when her family and the rest of Athera moved to the Islands of Vailor. She started paying more attention to the travellers who would visit the Druid Grove. As she grew older, these travellers no longer became mere curiosities and bearers of oddities, they became her source of news and history of the world. Eilyn heard of all the misfortunes and disasters in the world and, greatly influenced by her parent’s teachings, wanted to help in its aid. When she became of age, she decided she would join the Druids.
Personality Traits:
Assertive - Eilyn is vocally assertive; she speaks her mind when she wants to. While she’s quite open minded and does look at things from different sides, she can often take a very adamant stand on something she believes in. Eilyn feels that she is obligated to better people by telling them to right their wrongs. She can be very insistent, to the point of being a nag.
Compassionate - Eilyn does care about the wellbeing of others and would be willing to put extra effort into keeping them well. She has a lot of empathy which allows her to better understand another’s point of view. To those she dislikes or are not comfortable with, she would feel a moral obligation to help them but may be less willing to. Eilyn is not malicious so while she wouldn’t hurt anyone she dislikes, she would at worst show apathy towards them.
Curious - Eilyn likes learning about the world, all the things in it, and how they work. She also likes knowing things in general, including other people’s business. Life is like a book full of stories to her, and each encounter is a tale waiting to be read.
Naive - Eilyn is a bit naive. Eilyn is usually trusting of others and expects good from them unless she learns otherwise. Acts of malice are beyond her understanding. Her intelligence keeps her wary and skeptical enough not to fall for everything, but generally she looks on the positive side of things and tends not to be overly distrustful. Even though she is aware of danger in the world, she doesn’t believe that anything bad could ever happen to her. She still has a childish innocence in which she believes what she does is always good and doesn’t usually consider that her actions may be wrong or mistaken.
Ambitions:
Eilyn wishes to climb up the ranks of Druidism as well as explore the world and help better it in whatever little way she can.
Strengths/Talents:
Intelligent - Eilyn certainly isn’t dimwitted. She has a broad perspective and an open mind. She likes to learn things and naturally picks things up easily, though more so if it’s something she’s particularly interested in. She takes her time to think things through and has a healthy amount of skepticism.
Dexterous - Eilyn is a nimble little elfess. She has fine control over her body, making full use of all muscles to keep balance and move with a delicate flexibility. She can traverse uneven, rocky terrain as daintily as she can soft, level ground. She also has a good sense of direction and a developed ability for mental mapping.
Weaknesses/Inabilities:
Light Hearted - Eilyn is a fairly easy-going, carefree individual. This means that, though she wants to help the world, she wouldn’t be able to handle anything dark and heavy. War and fighting is beyond her. Brutality is unthinkable. She’d freeze at the sight of such things.
Non-combative - Eilyn is not a trained fighter. While she has been taught to use knives and bows, this is mainly for hunting and survival more than it is for armed combat. Her light-hearted nature also makes her more reluctant to engage a fighter so she does not have a large amount of will to fight.
Appearance:
Eilyn is 5’4” and about 128 lbs. She has light olive skin and teal-green eyes. She has straight hair that flows past her shoulders. Her hair is naturally a dark brunette but she dyes it a dark green. She has a fit body, toned with a healthy amount of fat. She’s used to a whole day of light to medium physical activity and she can handle heavier labour for short amounts of time.
