Sort of disagree here. All the potion does is make you look pretty, at the cost of some fairly rare symbols and one of the ingredients being from a niche player race.

Actually, there’s yet to be an potion that’d be potent enough to entirely remove any scarring from one’s body i believe, or i could be blind. Flora is rather easy to come by since it’s already a common thing, even the ‘rarer’ ones. It doesn’t matter whether the potion itself is powerful and whatnot, i just find potions that follow the rule of equivalent exchange, as it realistically should be, are far more intriguing and logical. Though that’s just my own opinion, they can do as they wish.

First of all, the map’s basically ending this fall. 5k isn’t that much, but the RP items and creative wizard tag are something anyone can be proud of.

Considering it is a CT project, the RP items will pose little to no actual value most likely, the tag is meh. People pay actual money for this sort of stuff. All in all – nice scam.

What magic(s) will you be teaching?

    Alchemy

Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:

Alchemy can be described as the study and application of material; accompanying study of all mundane energy and matter that makes up matter. It focuses on the manipulation of matter, via transforming it in the ways of transmutation or alteration alongside various other methods. It includes the sciences; chemistry, biology and physics; in which it might meddle in the workings of biology, where positive and negative effects are to be granted such as increased bleeding or methods to help one’s breath last longer underwater. This is done in the attempts to work against the predefined limits of man, limited only by the knowledge and ingenuity of the wielder.

The basis of Alchemy can be shown in the three elements; Symbols and Signs, Botany, reagents and processing and Potioncraft. Symbols and Signs can be known as the material alphabet, in which visual representations of runes and elements within are granted and how they are composed in some manner of combinations.

Botany, reagents and processing are vital since it is paramount in identifying the properties that a material may have. It would then be extracted, drawn out via a multitude of methods pertaining to the desired effect.

Potioncraft is the final stage which includes the prior stages listed before to create an elixir. The effects of the outcome are numerous, created from the Alchemist’s actions in which they combine calculated amounts alongside symbols and signs that are drawn from the flora in order to create the final result.

Since Alchemy is not inherently evil nor good, it is a practice that ranges upon the logic and understanding of the universe. The path to such may be littered with a disregard for rules or laws, in their attempt to understand the world. To this, the mental effects that an Alchemist may suffer from aren’t as straining as a Voidal Mage but border on ambition - a need and desire to learn more, to unravel the mysteries of the world and what is beyond their understanding in their pursuit of enlightenment. Their dreams may be plagued with strange visions, foretelling of their ambition and the unlimited bounds of alchemy - the unparalleled potential in their art.

Simply put. Alchemy is merely the practice and utilization of the natural flora that resides in the plane, driving from mundane potions to assist oneself in one’s daily needs, to complicated arts in machinery or even direct enhancement of one’s body and soul itself.

Are there different sections or subsections of magic? Can those be elaborated upon?

There are many things that are arisen from the delving into Alchemy, such as Animatii and the Afflicted - where in recipes are used alongside alchemical reagents to create potions, these liquids being able to create effects or permanent changes in a person’s physiology for the better or worst.

Can you give an example of a casting emote, of a spell of your choice?

Elnirith, upon preparation and harvesting the needed alchemical herbs for this creation, would set the pot of distilled water onto a mild boil. He’d begin sett one of the herbs atop a simple chopping-board, and chopping it into numerous equal pieces, the aformentioned then were inserted into a mortar, then carefully ground-down via a pestle – followed by a half-ratio sprinkle of salt atop whilst grounding. After the process came to fruition, he withdrew a sieve. The man with allowed the contents within mortar atop, effectively separating the salt added prior.

The high elf proceeded to insert all of the needed symbols onto the boiling water, waiting about forty seconds. After such, Elnirith prepared yet another batch of the same ingredients before he allowed it to simmer for another ten minutes.

He’d then extract the remaining herbs from the point, quickly pouring it into a container. The high elf then left it, allowing it to rest until it cooled down to room temperature, making it suitable to use as a concoction.

Can you give an example of a teaching-emote (interacting with another) of a spell of your choice?

Elnirith calls upon his student, bringing him over to the table where an assortment of herbs, reagents and notes were laid. He’d tell him about his potion, Fervour Concentrate, and his plans for the two to create it.

“Boil the distilled water, chop up the herbs and extract the symbols.” He’d instruct, before continuing once more. “Such varies, as different symbols possess different properties which – therefore requiring different means of extraction. For an example!” he paused, his hand drawing towards a reagent beside; a frost vine “In order the symbols of such manifest with the water prefix, you first must allow it to rest in distilled water, afterwards – crush and shred such. Repeat the process until it seems as if the two are combined into one, both the distilled water and the reagent. After such is done, you pour it over a simple dish as to allow the remaining water to evaporate for merely a day. If such process were to deem true – all that’s left should be mere powder of what once a reagent”

“After seperation of the symbols, insert all of the them into the pot, wait for forty seconds.” Elnirth commanded, before turning to the side. He’d begin to prepare yet another batch of the same ingredients before allowing it to simmer for about ten minutes.

“Extract the remaining herbs, and then pour it into a container.” He’d instruct, his hands cleansing themselves about a towel. “Now that we’re done, allow it to cool back to room temperature.”

The high elf would tell the student to take notes throughout the process; however, he’d prevent the student from making any fatal mistakes, overall allowing their intellect and notes to create the potion.

“We shall repeat this next week, however, i will not give you any help. You will have to do this by yourself so take notes should you require, understood?”

Say your student powergames during or after teaching, how do you reprimand that?

I’ll message them in discord, telling them to go over the lore before continuing their RP. If not, I’d have a Lore Member or a Moderator to tell them to do so.

  4. The abilities are well balanced and relatively well-fitted to the general aesthetic. +1

I’d prefer to see this as an Ixli thing since I’m biased

Ixli being the spirit of forbidden knowledge

Also it isn’t fitting to the orc shaman-like spirit aesthetic you are most likely wanting from this lore at all. The voidal thematic the lore is focused upon is the most optimal, at least i find. Though realistically it could work with ixli if it was entirely reshaped to fit into that theme.

  5. Elnirith Of Markev realizes his inner weeb, grabbing his long hidden katana, samurai shurikens and his samurai armour – settling off to a journey to find his inner self.

    Good read. +1 lads.
