Melfani Mashan roamed a forest by herself, a look of pain washing over her countenance. She knew what she needed to find. As thick brush and large trees gave way to a clearing, the Viper looked up at the skies above. They were blue - a prettier day than she would have expected. If only she didn't have to use it mourning. Her hands traveled down to her greaves, withdrawing a thin knife that she had kept close to her calves. She held it close to her body. Elena made her want to keep it closer to herself than ever.

She made her way over to the marker. A shrine once shown to her by someone she had truly cared for. She placed her hand on it, running her fingertips on the slightly tarnished stone of the shrine, its gray stone developing green, mossy pockmarks, as nature began to take over. The 'ame dropped down on her knees, setting a small clay bowl before filling it with incense. A few moments later, once it was lit, she withdrew from the grave. Elena made her want to do that.

Then, the Viper found herself beside a tree, watching the incense burn from afar. She took the knife and began to carve into the bark of the tree, her eyes narrowed as she scratched a few letters into it. Once she was finished, she pursed her lips, looked over her lovely work, and withdrew herself from the location.

No longer would Melfani Mashan be haunted by her mistakes. She could be anywhere right now, that canonist whom she cherished. If ever there were a passionate, selfless person, it was her.

The Viper was certain where she had gone.

Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

The soulless creations of an alchemist, facsimiles of the descendant form that are designed to take the likeness of descendant-kind.  Bound together by the scraps of creation and shaped by their creator into the form of their choosing through maverick, ungodly alchemy, Homunculi represent a significant waymarker in alchemical development. Although they are completely artificial, intelligent beings capable of passing themselves as an inhabitant of the world around themselves, there are significant differences that are impressed upon these emulative beings.

Homunculi are eternal. Unaffected by the passage of time, a homunculus can exist far beyond the lives of their creator, and can persist, within reason, to the end of time. This comes from their incredible regenerative capabilities. Their lack of a soul permits this, as they are unrestrained from the typical laws that govern creation. The being sustains itself, regrowing parts of its body at will. Upon death, a homunculus can return after a period of regeneration and reformation, and can regrow limbs upon their removal, although this action takes time. The anatomic status of a homunculus provides both boons and banes to the creature. For one, they are capable of adapting to enhancements, mutations, and graftings at a greater speed than mortals. However, they find themselves significantly weaker to magicks than mortals, and are incapable of learning those which require a soul. Given their inherent connection to the material plane, the immaterial nature of magic is the antithesis of their being. As a result, they experience a significantly problematic reaction as a result of exposure from such. It even belays the ability for the homunculus to regenerate, significantly slowing these processes as a result of this reaction.

Their inherent soullessness also bears an impact on their personalities. Homunculi are emotionless and logical, unbound from the moralities of man. They bear free will, however, and are capable of expressing ambitions and desires of their own, but are bound by the chains of their soullessness, leading them to approach tasks and opposition in a less-than-human manner. Homunculi, due to their inability experience greater emotion, also find it difficult to emulate said emotion.

knew dantory for about 7 years. met him back in 2016, we were both kids. guy was decent to me when a lot of people really, really weren't, and that's not an environment a young person should be in. especially on the internet, where people can be just awful. but he always included me. made me feel like a person in a place where things just bustle and change and shift and move, and make a guy as broken as me just disassociate. long nights in vc playing whatever weirdo early access survival game he was able to convince me to buy with him and the boys. making videos on his youtube channel with him.
