What magic(s) will you be teaching?

             Paladinism

Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:

Paladinism is the holy magic granted to descendants by the Aengul Xan in pursuit of maintaining Order and eliminating darkspawn. The Dawnfather’s mists grant the ability to heal, purge curses, enchant items, and defensive and offensive spells. The magic as a whole is strongest against ‘darkspawn’ and draconic beings, but it will prove weakest when facing Voidal magicks.

A paladin’s mission is to protect innocents from the dark or otherwise ill-intent forces of the world. The creeds of the magic, which are considered the in-character rules set by Xan himself, include things such as not participating in descendant on descendant wars, do not harm innocents, do not attack other paladins, do not assist dark group/creatures, and do not sell out Xan’s abilities.

Each paladin upon completing their initiate trials will be ‘connected’ by receiving an Ember. Each tier of Paladinism grants more embers to be utilized by the paladin. After using up half of their embers, the paladin will become exhausted. If they use all of their embers they will pass out.

There are three mist colors a paladin could have upon being connected: gold, silver, or emerald. There is a fourth mist color, sapphire or cobalt, that is reserved for Xan himself. This color of mist is used during connection and disconnection.

Are there different sections or subsections of magic? Can those be elaborated upon?

Paladinism contains three distinct subsections of the magic, along with a section on Sacred Artificery. I will briefly describe each of these sections.

    Mist Weaving

Every paladin has access to the same base spells, as well as freeform mist manipulation. The mist manipulation can never be combative and will always stay the hue of mist chosen by the paladin upon connection. Anything created using freeform mist manipulation will never be so life-like as to trick anyone.

The spells all paladins may access are Purging, Xannic Fervor, Mist Healing, Sunlit Splint, Xannic Armaments, Sunlit Salvo, and Lion’s Roar

[T3 participate/4 lead] Purging is limited to curses and hexes and the purge will only work if the target is restrained and if the paladin is completely certain there is a curse or hex present, as purging cannot be used to metagame.

[T1, 1 Ember, 2 Emotes] Xannic Fervor is a spell that consists of the paladin coating their weapon with their mist and causing a burning sensation wherever they strike, as long as it is touching skin.

[T2, 2-3 Embers, 3-4 Emotes] Mist Healing is the most iconic spell at a paladin’s disposal, allowing for them to heal minor injuries to help their comrades return quickly to the battlefield.

[T3, 4-6 Embers, 4+ Emotes] Sunlit Splint is a subsection of mist healing learned at tier three. Like normal healing, the spell’s intended use is primarily on the battlefield to quickly get allies back to the fight. It may create a ‘splint’ over traverse or compound fractures.

[T2, 1 Ember, 2 Emotes] Xannic Armaments is a spell allowing paladins to summon a weapon made of their mist that is no stronger than steel. Xannic Fervor may not be cast on Xannic Armaments, but the weapon created still causes searing pain should it strike dragonkin or darkspawn.

[T3, 1 Ember, 3 Emotes] Sunlit Salvo is a blast of light created over the course of three consecutive emotes of active fighting. If the caster is a Vindicator, the light will scorch the skin of any darkspawn as if it were flame. Wyrmstalkers’ light will create a knockback effect when striking darkspawn.

[T3, 2 Embers, 2 Emotes] Lion’s Roar is a spell designed to help one’s allies in the heat of battle. A paladin’s aura is stretched out to a 15 meter radius, granting allies within courage. A Vindicator will also actively seek to attract the attention of a Darkspawn using this spell, as if challenging them, while a Wyrmstalker will calm their allies.

    Vindicators

Vindicators are considered the front-line fighters of the Order with spells focusing on bolstering their allies. They follow in the footsteps of Marian Cross.

[T3, 1-3 Embers, 3-4 Emotes] Guardian’s Bulwark is a spell with two subtypes: Barrier and Aegis. Barrier essentially creates a wall no taller than four meters and no wider than three meters. Aegis creates a shield upon the arm of the Paladin.

[T3, 2-6 Embers, 3-7 Emotes] Vindication is charged over the course of three emotes and channeled for up to four emotes. Each emote of channeling grants a greater effect, leading up to the fourth and final emote that will incapacitate a darkspawn.

[T4, 4+ Embers, 3 Emotes] Marian’s Refuge is a spell that creates a dome of a four meter radius around the paladin in the same hue as their mist color. This dome wards only against things pertaining to darkspawn, with darkspawn who attempt to breach the barrier suffering from tangible burns upon their flesh. Because of the barrier’s focus of Guardianship, anyone within the dome is disallowed from readying an attack or a weapon, with the exception of drawing a blade or potion. If someone were to attempt an attack from within the dome, it would cause the entire spell to break.

[T4, 1+ Embers, 2+ Emotes] Arknight’s Rally allows the Vindicator to imbue their allies’ weapons with Xannic fervor, with an extra emote and ember for each extra ally. The maximum for this spell is three allies.

[T5, 5 Embers, 3 Emotes] Vindicator’s Mantle is a complex spell, as it has varying effects and a Vindicator may only ever choose one of the listed effects to use in their lifetime. All of the effects last for eight emote rounds. Azrael’s Tenacity takes away the Vindicator’s ability to feel pain, Mithran’s Insight heightens the Vindicator’s senses to the height of an acuity potion, and Marian’s Fortitude negates a singular blow no stronger than the impact of a mace swung by an orc.

    Wyrmstalkers

Wyrmstalkers are the successors of Seyren Windsor, zealous sentinels of Order. Their spells focus on restraining or dealing damage to their enemies.

[T3/4, 2-3 Embers, 3 Emotes] Henryk’s Binding has two different types: Ambuscade Rune and Sanctioning. An Ambuscade Rune is a Xannic rune that can be activated by a Wyrmstalker and covered in lightweight material. When stepped on, it will ensare any target smaller than an olog for four emotes. Sanctioning is essentially the same effect, but the bindings come from the Wyrmstalker’s hands. The ensnared enemy must roll to escape. Multiple Wyrmstalkers may use this spell on one creature to make the DC higher to escape.

[T3, 3 Embers, 2+ Emotes] Stalker’s Step is a spell allowing a Wyrmstalker to dash away from their enemy and manifest a bolt of Xannic lightning to hurl at the enemy to inflict concussive damage.

[T4, 3 Embers, 3 Emotes] Sunlit Volley is a spell allowing for three arrows of lightning to be created by the Wyrmstalker. Upon being loosed, the arrows multiply to form six arrows.

[T4, 3 Embers, 3 Emotes] Daybreak Spear is another form of lightning the Wyrmstalker can create. It is a lesser version of Sunlight Spear, with the main effects only harming darkspawn. Once it pierces a darkspawn, they are subjected to constant, searing burning that minorly burns in its vicinity and renders them unable to use their magic so long as the spear remains in them.

[T5, 4 Embers, 4 Emotes] Sunlight Spear is a lightning bolt with the concussive force of an orc strength punch with the force of a thrown spear when it strikes true upon darkspawn. The spear is capable of easily bypassing the scales of greater dragonkin and the natural armours of dark beings as it immediately vanishes after hitting its mark. This spell may only harm darkspawn and will yield no effect on others.

    Sacred Artificery

Sacred Artificery is the Paladin’s form of enchanting, typically practiced by etching Xannic runes into the soon to be enchanted item and praying to the Dawnfather. These enchantments are broken down into three categories: Blessings, Orisons, and Exaltations. Blessings are effectively minor enchantments, offering effects such as giving off light or emanating a calming warmth. Orisons are the major enchantments and spells that can be enchanted onto larger items such as weapons or armor using a lightstone. Exaltations are artifacts of extreme power that can be created through an MArt.

Can you give an example of a casting emote, of a spell of your choice?

    [T3] Guardian’s Bulwark (Aegis)

[Connection] Daerine took in a deep breath, her open left hand flexing at her side. As she brought it up, emerald mist began to flow forth from her palm.

[1] Her breathing quickened as the mists began to gather around her raised arm, creating an ever-shifting translucent pattern in front of the woman. It was not yet solid and easily broken through, but it was slowly shaping to be around the size and shape of a tower shield.

[2] Daerine’s hand formed a fist as the mists finally solidified to form a brilliant, emerald tower shield in front of her body. With both a weapon and bulwark in hand, she rushed forward into battle.

Can you give an example of a teaching-emote (interacting with another) of a spell of your choice?

    [T1] Xannic Fervor

Daerine held a simple steel longsword matching the one she had handed her student prior. “First, summon your mists and attempt to keep them concentrated around your weapon. You will need to cover the blade.” Her own emerald mists slowly began to form around her body, moving swiftly to surround her sword arm.

Gale closed his eyes, blade gripped tight in his right hand. When he let out a quiet breath, silver mist began to flow from both of his palms. He peaked one eye open, a small grin forming at the accomplishment.

Daerine nodded encouragingly. “Good! Now, direct your mists to coat the entirety of the sword. When it strikes true, your enemy will feel as though they have been burned by your blade, but no true flame will appear.” As she instructed, her own mists surrounded the blade of her sword and began to sink into it. The blade took on a similar emerald sheen, reflecting the light from the sun.

Gale’s silver mists were more sluggish in their pursuit of his weapon, taking a moment or so more to fully sink into his blade. “That’s brilliant!” He gave an experimental swing of the blade, admiring the way the silver mists moved with the weapon.

Say your student powergames during or after teaching, how do you reprimand that?

As I have stated on my prior TAs, I want to make sure that there is no misunderstanding between myself and the student by re-explaining the lore to the student. If it is a genuine mistake, I likely would just ask them to read the lore more carefully before they use a spell or enchantment in the future. If it is a repeating offense, or something such as blatantly disregarding redlines, I would likely feel the need to pass on the relevant information to the Story Team and drop the student, if they were still learning from me.

What magic(s) will you be teaching?

             Animii Crafting

Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:

Animii crafting is a further alchemy feat centered around creating “living” clockwork constructs. These constructs can be as simple as a toolbench able to take commands to help complete projects to as complex as a humanoid automaton with a soul inside of it that is played by another player.

A rudimentary automaton is comprised of a metal skeleton, a gearheart, vessels serving as the “veins” for lifeblood, lifeblood itself, various clockwork “organs”, and occasionally an obedience vessel. Lifeblood is the alchemical creation that is required for an automaton to function, similar to the vitality of the gearheart. Lifeblood is made from Powdered charcoal mixed with water, Connection x3, Life x3, Growth x2, Strength x1, Balance x2, Endurance x3, Grace x2, and Order x3. The other organs that may installed in an automaton are the Intelligence vessel and the Visual, Voice, and Audio modules. The Visual module acts as the automatons eyes, Voice allowing for the automaton to make noise or even speak, and Audio allows for the automaton to hear. No matter what, an automatons voice created by the Voice module will never sound natural.

An automaton in a combative situation may “overclock” their gearheart, which is equivalent to a person’s rush of adrenaline. This state of overclocking begins over the course of two emotes with minor overclocking lasting for four emotes and major overclocking can only last for two emotes without killing the automaton. While in this state, the automaton will find that their speed and force increases with the pumping of excess Lifeblood throughout their body. The caveat to this ability is that the extra work of pumping so much Lifeblood can severely harm the automaton’s internal organs.

Beyond this, there are five tiers to animii creations that will be detailed below.

Are there different sections or subsections of magic? Can those be elaborated upon?

Animii creations can be categorized into five tiers:

Tier One - Basic Prosthetics and Small Tools: This level includes prosthetic limbs like arms, eyes, or lungs, as well as small tools. They do not have their own abilities or consciousness and rely entirely on the user. The prosthetics are not upgrades to natural limbs and are less capable than real ones.

Tier Two - Small Sentient Creatures and Gadgets: The second tier includes creatures and inventions that are no larger than a backpack. This category covers small sentient beings like birds or cats and gadgets. They can perform simple tasks but aren't suitable for combat.

Tier Three - Larger Creatures, Pets Only: Tier three encompasses creatures bigger than a backpack but no larger than a full-grown golden retriever. These Animii can only be kept as pets and cannot be used to enhance a person's body. They might be used in combat but will not survive long if injured.

Tier Four - Non-Combat Non-Player Characters: This tier is for creatures larger than those of Tier Three. Examples include Automaton butlers or mounts the size of horses. They follow standard rules for mounts and pets, and they cannot be used to metagame information.

Tier Five - Player-Controlled Animii: The fifth and final tier is exclusively for Animii controlled by players. There are two versions: one where the Animii is created without a soul and is played through an approved creature application (CA), and another where a soul enters the Animii upon death, allowing it to be played with a valid CA.

Can you give an example of a casting emote, of a spell of your choice?

Daerine laid out the skeleton of her next creation, a prosthetic arm, on the workbench before her. She placed a pouch of pre-made gears down next and opened it up for easy access as she worked. Next, she took the various leather tubes she had made from a nearby cabinet and set them down beside her other materials.

With most of her materials before her, she picked up the skeleton and placed it into the metal and porcelain shell that had been created to resemble a human arm. After securing it with various screws and leather ties, she produced the Gearheart that had been crafted the previous day. She slotted it in the shoulder area of the shell.

Using various tools at her disposal, Daerine began to place and secure the gears found in the pouch throughout the prosthetic limb, pausing to test the movement and strength of different joints. She went over her work for a second time to ensure full functionality for the recipient before setting her attention on the tubing.

The leather tubing was thread throughout the prosthetic limb, connecting the Gearheart to the rest of it for when the Lifeblood would begin to flow. The tubing connected to the gears and modules of the prosthetic back to the Gearheart to create a faux circulatory system.

Taking ahold of a syringe and locating the various bottles of Lifeblood scattered about, Daerine injected Lifeblood directly into the Gearheart, then throughout the limb at varying intervals to ensure it circulated properly.

After testing the limb’s mobility in various places, Daerine closed the metal shell of the limb and fastened it closed. Soon, it would be surgically attached to the recipient.

Can you give an example of a teaching-emote (interacting with another) of a spell of your choice?

Daerine laid out the blueprints for a standard automaton servant’s Gearheart before her student and allowed for them to study the plans closely. “This is what we will be following today. You see here how the vessels and shape resemble that of a descendant heart? That is to ensure that it is as functional as possible. We cannot best perfection.”

The student studied the blueprints as instructed and picked up the metal plates that were meant to make up the outside of the Gearheart. Glancing over to the piles of gears, tubing, and tools scattered over the workbench, they asked, “Are all of these meant to fit inside here?”

Daerine nodded to them and picked up a singular gear. “It all fits together like a puzzle. You’re going to ensure that lifeblood can flow in and out of the Gearheart to keep your automaton running. Follow the plans exactly and help me piece this heart together.”

They nodded eagerly and picked up a few of the gears, slowly following both the blueprint and Daerine’s instruction. The gears were secured into place with pins to ensure the Lifeblood continued to flow.

With a finger pointing to the blueprint, Daerine used her free hand to take ahold of a strip of leather tubing. “This is what the Lifeblood will flow through. It needs to go through the Gearheart and must be able to link with other tubing at two points.” She threaded the tubing through the Gearheart’s shell along the cogs and gears. “See how I’m placing it? Continue where I left off.”

The student followed her instructions and continued to thread the tubing all throughout the small heart. With a satisfied hum, they closed the Gearheart and secured it shut. “Now all it needs is Lifeblood, ti?”

Say your student powergames during or after teaching, how do you reprimand that?

My first course of action would be to re-explain the lore with the student to see if there was a possible misunderstanding with what was written. If it is a genuine mistake, I likely would just ask them to read the lore more carefully before they create or use an automaton in the future. If it is a repeating offense, or something such as blatantly disregarding redlines, I would likely feel the need to pass on the relevant information to the Story Team and drop the student, if they were still learning from me.

             CephalonAir

    Creator's RP Name:

             Ante’agoz

Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

A homunculus is a creature of alchemical creation brought to life by those possessing the secrets of Tawkin. Utilizing the sign of Fire and symbols of chaos, life, and connection the alchemist may create the abhorred creature.

Hommunculi possess no soul, and may not learn magic of any kind nor may they feel emotions. They can imitate the feelings of descendants to an uncanny degree, but may never truly understand them. Due to their lack of a soul, they are also unable to be harmed by holy magics.

The alchemical nature of a hommunculus means that they have an accelerated healing process. Minor wounds such as scrapes, bruises, and small cuts heal in 4 IRL hours, moderate wounds such as sprains, strains, and gashes heal within 12 IRL hours, and severe wounds such as dismemberment, loss of limbs, and stab wounds heal in 1 IRL week. A hommunculus may even regenerate upon death, taking 1 IRL week to do so. After such, the creature will be weak and confused for 3 IRL days afterward. A hommunculus will be permanently killed upon drinking a Juliet’s potion. Harm caused by voidal magic will cause the creature’s healing to slow, and they will actively seek to avoid all matter derived from the void itself.

If this construct or creature has some form of aesthetic choice, can you describe how they look?

Hommunculi are intended to be modelled after man’s likeness, with this specific one taking the appearance of a dark elven woman around five and a half feet tall.

The creature cannot surpass its specified imitated race’s physical ability, but all are immune to the effects of age. They all also possess a certain glassiness to their eyes as a result of their lack of a soul.
