so it has finally been a year.... quite a journey i went through on lotc i will say. thank you to all who have made it a positive experience for me :-)

now as it is for some reason tradition for lotcers to do these AMAs whenever they reach a milestone, i am doing it for my first year.

Malcolm Gant wasn't sure how to take the news. Him and Anatoliy butted heads all the time, one calling the other stupid and the other throwing a fit over it. One would be relieved they wouldn't have to deal with something like this again, but Malcolm felt it was a piece of him that had been ripped out of him. He quietly mourned the death of an honourable Haeseni squire, and a brother.

"Ah am sorreh.. Ah am sorreh.."

Malcolm chanted over and over quietly to himself while trying to take care of Alyona. He then went quiet. Nothing but a frown on his lips from there.

Wolfgang de Vilain went to visit the Mareno's grave, giving it a good scrub and a wash. Finishing it off with some freshly picked flowers. He pat on the grave, murmuring to it: "I know, I know."

Malcolm Gant sat in the Haeseni clinic for quite some time. Seconds, minutes and hours passed as he sat numb. He reminisced about the awful things he said about his sister that day in the square of Karosgrad. Overwhelming grief and guilt flooded his head, and stomach.

He is not new to death, nor to executions. Both of those were ideas he had accepted as soon as Haense officially went to war. But this was different. He never realized how different it would be when it was his own kin's blood on the executioner's blade. The blood of someone you have spent countless hours messing around and having fun, going to foreign nations to pick the grapes from their vineyards without being spotted or even starting a fight with the Rutherns at the docks.

The Gant knew this had to happen, that it was bound to happen. His sister went off with the enemy and paid the consequences of doing so. He should be angry at her for leaving. He should be proud an enemy was slain by the Kingdom. He knew she was that enemy to the Kingdom, 

but he only felt grief.

"Took you guys long enough." Wolfgang de Vilain smiled brightly as he read the missive, heading up north to go show Marius the missive.

What magic(s) will you be teaching?

         Kani

Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:

Kani is a technique used to manipulate the natural mana of the world to make physical changes to it, and interact with other mana heavy sources like magic. Those who practice the technique are called 'Oscillits' and the actual name for the anomaly or magic they produce is called 'Resonance.' Resonance itself can be interpreted as a sound wave of some sort, and the fluidity of resonance all depends on the density of the material that it interacts with. The denser the material, the less fluid the resonance will be and the less the material will be affected by it.

Are there different sections or subsections of magic? Can those be elaborated upon?

The core techniques of Kani all can be classified under one section as they all use the basic tenant of using mana to alter the physics of objects in the world, or to manipulate mana sources of some kind. The one subsection I can elaborate on would be the 'Continuous Resonance' feat that oscillits can learn after getting to T3. Continuous Resonance is mainly for voidal mages who also know Kani to be able to cast their other voidal magic while being connected to resonance at the cost of their spells having a cost of two more emotes.

Can you give an example of a casting emote, of a spell of your choice?

Hardening
First emote - Wolfgang closed his eyes, bringing his own breathing to a halt before picking it back up to a rhythmic pace.

Second emote - The rhythmic breathing continued as the man focused on listening for the mana around him, to soon connect to.

Third emote - A brief spark of gold would emit from the man before blossoming into a fiery white-gold aura that surrounded both of his hands. The aura would burn bright, dancing uncontrollably around his arms. The man then made his way to the edge of the waters, staring into the lake.

Fourth emote - Wolfgang brought his foot forward, stepping onto the water. The aura from his hands now disappeared, reappearing in the form of strings on the bottom of his foot looking as if they were bringing the surface of the water and his foot together. Wolfgang then stood upon the water for a second, then proceeded forward whistling a happy tune to himself as he had just saved himself 15 minutes of walking to get to the other side of the lake.

Can you give an example of a teaching-emote (interacting with another) of a spell of your choice?

"You have learned the basics of Respirvanda, now let us see the technique in use." Wolfgang told his student as he walked over to the pile of their stuff, picking up a ferrum chest plate and sliding it on. "Respirvanda enables you to fight in ways not used by the common man. You may not believe it now, but you are able to penetrate the armour of opponents you may come across on your journeys. Respirvanda can alter the way physical objects work, allowing you to pull of some amazing things."

Wolfgang stood tall in front of his student as he proceeded to pat the metal plate that protected his chest. "What I want you to do is to channel your resonance and focus a punch towards my stomach. Though when I say focus, I mean focus. I want you to focus passing the energy of your punch through my armour and into my stomach. If not, we may need to stop by a hospital to repair any.... damages.."

The man then readied himself for the punches he was about to experience as he watched his student connecting to the mana around him before they hurled a punch towards his stomach. In an expected turn of events, the punch did not indeed go through and the student ended up hurting their fist. Wolfgang only chuckled at the sight of this. "I did tell you to focus, didn't I? Let us try that again." 

After a series of failed punches, the student threw one last punch of focused energy towards the chest plate, to which they finally were able to penetrate it, knocking the wind out of Wolfgang. He toppled over and held onto his stomach and croaked. "Alright- let us take a break.."

Say your student powergames during or after teaching, how do you reprimand that?

If this is the first time I have caught or witnessed them powergaming the magic, I would discuss with them on what they are doing wrong and how to use the techniques properly to avoid powergaming it. It is understandable for someone learning a magic to not fully understand it yet and thus need to be reminded on the limitations of it.

If it happens a second time I would have to shoot them a message and warn them again on what they are doing wrong. I would also have to tell them that if this behaviour keeps up then they will be subjected to their MA being revoked.

If the powergaming still continues after that I would have to message ST to get involved and revoke their MA.

Malcolm Gant chortled to himself before going back to sweeping the interior of a certain keep.

Wolfgang de Vilain scratched his head at the empty piece of paper he was given.
