    More durable shears.

The ability to create nodes (aka like a garden) with like 30 of the specific plant in question, and with a limit of 1-3 node creation per person to stop massive farming.

    also i love u alot

also wholeheartedly this, specifically outline in a mini-ruleset that banding together like fifteen players and all their nodes is against the rules, since they’d pretty much always be loaded and cause lag otherwise

  2. Basically what everyone else said. I love the plugin and it gives people who actually enjoy alchemy RP something to do in their freetime.

Also makes it miles easier to teach people about alchemy in RP, since you have actual lore-approved ingredients and a detailed description for every single one of them to work off of.

    In terms of issues?

    • Some of the spawn rates are a bit quick, honestly. If you head out once, you can stock up on at least 8-12 of each ingredient (save for the ultra-rare ones).
    • Alchemy shears are damnably expensive to make, but it makes sense if the above comment doesn’t change. If you have trouble making them, being able to stock up is fine.
    • It’s a pain to find some ingredients because they’re absolutely hoarded by others. This isn’t something I’ve personally run into much, if at all, but I’d suggest making a few ‘wildcard’ spawns. If someone runs through each region knowing roughly when the sprigs will regenerate, chances are others won’t get a shot at collecting more than a couple ingredients.

Those three things aside, there’s nothing I can really suggest. I haven’t run into issues otherwise.

With time, I’m sure more ingredients will be added and I’m confident more in-depth things can be done with each ingredient. Actually, I’d even suggest modifying it so each ingredient can even be eaten on the spot. Either with a command, so it’s not accidental, or by just right-clicking a couple times. First one pops up the plant and its effects, the second eats it immediately afterwards and applies potion effects to the individual.

Insert mandatory “Potion/Alchemy plugin when?” comment.

    Fatherism, An Introduction

    Writ By Aeyn

“Before there were men, there were monsters”

    Foreword

I seek to, in pursuit of the Father’s will shed light on the rather mysterious nature of the Nordish Faith. Namely I wish to impart the beliefs, teachings and theology of those who label themselves ‘Fatherists’. Ours is a faith of extremes, of radicalism and zealotry. For all men are born to die. But before that I shall shed some light on myself. I am Aeyn, my house, my clan. Irrelevant. For I bear the mask of a Hearth Keeper. Those who gaze upon me should think not of Aeyn the man, but of the All Father, a god. The fire came to me as it did so many others, a duty demanded rather than a boon requested. The pyres of the faith dwindling as the elden priests were put to the sword or passed to the Father. I stepped forward, taking up the mantle of Keeper following the sacking of Nordengrad, once proud seat of my house. A hamlet of laughter and peace, of faith and children. Run to barren ground, the machinations of darkness taking root, taking root deeply. Betrayed by kith and kin my Brother died pathetic, he died alone. To tread a righteous path, a genuinely pious life. That is the most lonely of lives. For so few can truly be saved.

As those versed in history can attest. With the fall of the late Earl, Thoromir II the Earldom fell and the faith with it. How is a candle to survive the night without a shield? A bulwark. I digress. As Nordengrad burned and its temples were abandoned by those of, insufficient conviction. The flame came to me, and I one of the few remaining versed in the rituals of old, the scripture, the teachings, the ways. I was charged with its upkeep. To tend to the eternal flame, to raise high the torch, lighting the way for those who are blind, for those whom the light fades.

No doubt the canonists, those angry old men. So intent on their machinations they criticize me and mine more than they tend to their own flock. Cloistered away in their towers, challenging the sky. Pretending, so feebly, so briefly. That they are more than men. Perhaps someday I shall see them attend the sick. To assist the poor. A fantasy, but surely a priest of all people can dream. Regardless they shall denounce and degrade seeking to slander what I am to say rather than prosthelytize another mass. I am sure their attendees are, awake. I fear no darkness, no slander, no lie. For I bear the truth, the light. And such a truth, a self evident truth. It fears no examination.

I welcome all who wish to know. I welcome them to my temple and to my Hearth, that we may speak of knowledge. Of truth. We operate within our right, within our legal privilege granted to us by the Emperor, our King. King of the Elder Kingdom of Norland. We trust in his most gracious protection. And the eternal protection of the Father. Should death come soon or late it matters not. For we are born to die.

“Valour is persistence in certain defeat”

    Origins

The origins of Fatherism differ profoundly from other contemporary Human faiths in a fundamental fashion. Fatherists do not (with some heretical exceptions) believe that the All Father is omniscient or omnipotent. It could almost be said that we are not in fact monotheistic. As Fatherism speaks of a plurality of divinities with no overarching supreme authority. The aforementioned heretical perspective being known as ‘progenianism’.

Both scripture and vision profess that the All Father was born, far after the beginning of time. Should such a moment even exist. The Father was conceived from a conflict between two ‘olde ones’. In Fatherism the ‘old ones’ are held to be the primordial manifestations of inescapable vice and sin. The primal and fundamental facts of existence. Lust, Jealousy, Greed, Deceit usque in aeternum. These beings, held to be demonic, anti-ethical to life have always been, and will always be. They ‘are’. When one is destroyed it is immediately replaced. Forces of being, an olde one ‘is’. Generally in the olde tapestries and artfully rendered copies of scripture they are depicted as amorphous black blobs. However other artists have been known to depict lesser olde ones a bipedal beasts with wings. The relevance of such depictions aside they existed prior to the Father.

The Father revealed unto us that his conception was prompted by the ancient ‘Greed’ stealing from the ancient ‘Jealousy’. And for the briefest moment, injustice, and a desire for justice. Forth burst the All Father. His birth a nova of fire and wroth. The beings were slain, their corpses where once were ancients of infinite vice. Thus was the Father born. Below his halo these two corpses fell, melding together as they did so. Joined by heat and fire. Terra. Home.

For seeming aeons the Father lashed out laying waste to the olde ones about him. Casting his flame about him as he did so. Much of this flame fell to Terra. And mixing with the soils there, the first men. The scriptural specifics aside. Fatherists posit that the All Father is fighting an endless unwinnable war against these olde ones. All of this to protect what little justice and life exists on the mortal realm. In his early days as he was first recognizing the flourishing life upon Terra he was taken by surprise by the olde ones, his attention having been turned for the merest instant. Thus he lost his eye. His remaining eye serving as the fiery sun, lighting the realm with his gaze and purging the unclean and the dark from the surface. Whilst when his blind eye, the moon is turned to the world the mortal folk must light their pyres and place salt on their sills and doors as to not be taken in their sleep by those that lurk in the night.

Thus it lies with the children of the father to remove what corrupt influences dwell on the mortal realm. To drive back the unclean and purge the abomination. To ensure that the old ones influence does not prevail on the mortal realm. Thus the All Father is worshipped as the protector of light and life. Without him neither can exist, for they would be immediately extinguished by the Olde Ones. Seeking to sate the gaping maws of their various base ravenous appetites. It is perhaps due to this foundation that Fatherism is incredibly fatalistic. With its adherents seeking to live lives of glory and purpose. That their memory shine brightly amongst their descendants for the brief time that the All Father is able to repel the eternally encroaching darkness.

    “His is the glory”

The Nature of the All Father

The nature of the All Father is mostly aptly distilled as justice in extremis. To be a Fatherist is to fundamentally ‘be what you are’. To fulfill one’s innate role in the grand scheme of creation and to perform their duty to its utmost potential. Only in fulfilling one’s raison d’etre is one rendered ‘just’. Inferior secular conceptions are irrelevant in the light of the overarching and self evident law set forth in all living things. In attending to one’s purpose one explicitly rejects the nefarious influences of entropy. Performing their sacred duty by the mere act of living. This glimpse at the soul, the being of man can of course be reflected in the essence of the creator. From whom we are wrought. The Father is light, life, and truth. Thus his mere existence repels the dark and preserves these precious rarities in a dark and fallen existence.

That being said what has begun must end. One day the Father shall succumb to the endless press of the ancients and the world shall fall once more to darkness. The last flicker of light, of light extinguished. Until perhaps the cycle begins anew. It is precisely this brevity that gives every second the highest value. The finite nature of one’s time, one’s life rendering it infinitely valuable. Even the All Father’s time is finite. It is in this regard that Fatherists are monotheistic, only revering only the All Father as a deity, whilst viewing the old ones as the ‘other’.

The All Father is oft depicted as a lamp in the midst of a dark windy night. Maintaining light in the darkness and illuminating all around it. This is perhaps the simplest way to understand the All Father. As a font of light, life, and justice. Revealing the truth, the light unto those who are blind. The blind being those mortals who have yet to accept the Truth into their hearts and ‘be what they are’.

“We are born fallen, only in the light can we find salvation”

The Fallen Nature of Man and Soil

Fathereism’s fatalistic streak continues with our perceptions of man and earth. For us we are born, and live in a fallen, broken world. A world rife with the influences of the ancients, wrought from their flesh and bones. Infested with darkness. Yet it is the only world we have, and we must live our best lives upon it. In this we contrast fundamentally from other faiths. We make no elaborate and unfounded claims that our God is all powerful, all knowing, all good ecetera. But rather the presence, the veracity of our faith is in the world about us.

Man is rendered from the joining of essence and clay. For Fatherists, the first men were born when the Father’s holy essence fell to Terra in the form of fire. Mixing with the soils of the fallen ancients and bringing forth life. However, unlike the Father and his servants. Beings of pure spirit, unblemished and pure in their purpose. However the essence of man is twofold. For he is a juxtaposition of corruption and light. The soul of the mortal being comprised of the All Father’s holy fire. Whilst the flesh of a mortal being rendered from the corrupt flesh of the fallen ancients. Thus whilst the essence of a man is pure at it’s conception. It is throughout its existence corrupted by the fallen nature of the world upon which we dwell.

It is only by the grace of the All Father that we are able to stray from the shoals of sin, guided by the light on the hill. The All Father’s glory guiding those of us who can see to the righteous path. A path most precarious and thin. Thus only through the Hearth, through the sanctifying presence of the All Father’s truth can one be saved from an eternity in the dark void of the ancients. That ‘place’ where the All Father is not. For such is damnation. Not a construction of the Father’s but rather a conscious choice of the individual. To render themselves, their hearts devoid of the Father. And in doing so they cast themselves unto the rocks, shirking the truth of the lighthouse. Thus in death they shall forevermore dwell amongst the ancients. Forever aware of the Father’s glory, but being incapable of communion with it. There is no salvation outside the Hearth.

“Fear the Father, Only in complete submission to your God can you be saved”

    The Herald and The Presence

When Fatherists refer to ‘The Herald’ they speak of the first flamekeeper who granted a portion of his uncaged essence to Thoromir. The Herald was the first man to confer the All Father’s message unto mortals. Taking what was self evident in nature and combining it with the revelations of the almighty. This would over time be recorded in Nordish and become what is now known as the ‘Red Scrolls’. The scriptural canon of the Fatherists. The Herald kept the first ‘flame’ and from this flame was able to cure mortals of their blindness. This flame, being the pure essence of the All Father was then spread to others who had assumed the mantle of flame keeper. Who, via wielding the holy flame were able to perform ritual and blessing in the Father’s name.

The question then follows. “What is the First, Why is it important”. We Fatherists hold that all Sacred fire in our possession can be traced back to this original flame granted unto us by the Father. This Fire was the Father granting us mortals the opportunity to be saved, to accept the light of the Father and to reject the long dark. This Fire is a piece of the Father’s undiluted essence. Similar to the fire that first fell to Terra, spawning the myriad forms of life that now cover its breadth. It is only with the ‘presence’ of the All Father in a literal sense that a Keeper of the Flame is able to perform any holy rituals or blessings in the Father’s name. In this sense every priest of the All Father who has been properly consecrated can be identified by the large stylized torch they carry with them. While every Fatherist place of worship can be identified by the massive runic hearths roaring within their depths. These two objects respectively containing the literal presence of the All Father manifest on the mortal realm.

“Only Man was made in his image”

    Race and Fatherism

The Red Scrolls clearly state that man were the first and only race drawn from the direct essence of the father. Made in his image and first to be conceived. It is from this origin that all other mortal humanoids were wrought. Their differences a result of their inherent character flaws. As each succumbed to the temptations of the ancients they were physically warped. The greed of the dwarves rendering them stunted and excellent for delving after their gold. The elves stretched, unnaturally in the same manner as their lives. For their forefathers had been deathly afraid of death, and in fleeing to the ancients, in fleeing from the truth of death they were in turn warped. Their flesh coming to match their corrupted souls. As for the orcs, and beastfolk their forebears were men of savagery beyond reckoning. Giving in completely to their primal base instincts. They became as animals. Base and primitive.

While Fatherists hold that Elves and Dwarves, while corrupted can be saved by the All Father. The bestials are beyond the reach of the Father’s light. Their flesh far too corrupted and their minds barely above those of animals. It is occasionally acceptable to own an orc as a beast of burden, to carry supplies or to plow fields. But no Orkin could ever be accepted into the Father’s light. For they do not possess the capability nor reason to sufficiently understand what they are doing. And therefore their conversion would be entirely devoid of substance, empty. It is not uncommon for them to be killed on sight as abominations to the Father’s creation.

“To burn the wytch, there is no higher mercy of which I can conceive”

    Wytchcraft and Fatherism

Fatherists have famously and stalwartly opposed wytchery in all of its forms. For such corruptions of the natural order can only come from infernal pacts with the ancients and olde ones. Weak souls tempted by the siren’s song of power on the mortal realm forgo their salvation for eternal damnation. Trading eternity for a brief spark of pleasure on Terra. Those who practice Wytchery are almost without exception beyond salvation. Their flesh having corrupted their soul. Generally the Fatherist will attempt to save these poor unfortunate individuals by freeing their souls from their flesh. That they may perhaps escape damnation. This of course being done by burning the flesh so that the soul may escape its prison.

On the occasions where one is deemed saveable or has suffered under the machinations of a wytch then the Fatherist will do what they can to save them. Generally binding them in Aurum collars and chains to suppress further wytchery. The subject will then be confined to a sanitorium within a Hearth Temple. Where they will be re-educated on the nefarious nature of wytchery and the daemonic orders. If they can be rehabilitated they are released, forever to wear bonds of aurum. If not, then they are given the Father’s mercy as mentioned before.

“He lived briefly, died beautifully, and outlived us old men”

    Priarch or Paragon

Priarchs, sometimes referred to as Paragons are those mortals who have lived lives of virtue. They stand at the Father’s side and assist him in the eternal conflict. As the Father almost never hears the direct prayers of appellants, it is generally accepted that for one to have a prayer answered it must be addressed to a Priarch. The Priarch will then, if the sacrifice is sufficient intercede on the appellant's behalf and either bring it to the Father’s attention or solve it themselves. Fatherists hold that Priarchs are semi divine in nature, while being purely of spirit their spirits are not entirely pure due to them having dwelt on the mortal realm for an extended period. But they have lived sufficiently virtuous and pious lives as to be recognized by the All Father. Who will confer their selection as one of his Scions upon the Keepers via visions.

Due to their semi-divine nature the Priarchs are a temperamental assortment. Often ignoring prayers entirely if the specific incantation and offerings were insufficiently pleasing to them. Generally upon entrance into the Faith a Fatherist will choose a Priarch as their patron. This Priarch being a reflection of said Fatherist’s lifestyle and circumstances. This Priarch will then be the primary recipient of the Fatherist’s prayers and offerings. Transferring them to the Father when appropriate. However each Priarch has a unique prayerset and preferences in terms of offerings. They’re also very partial to dedicated and unique shrines. Failure to know and use these details will not only result in no fulfillment of prayer but also of an angering of one’s Priarch,

Each Priarch will generally have a Priarch ‘cult’, an organization dedicated to the maintenance of a specific Priarchate shrine and the holding of communal worships and festivals dedicated to said Priarch. These groups vary for small knitting circles of women praying to their shared Priarch to very large cults lead by Hearth Keepers. All ‘cults’ fall within the jurisdiction of the Faith and are all Fatherist, they are merely organization institutions dedicated to a specific Priarch. For a list of Priarchs one can simply inquire at one’s local Hearth Temple.

“Keep yourself, and Keep your neighbours”

    The Two Tenets

The Father’s Tenets are a matter of great debate amongst the theological scholars of Fatherism. The central debate often being whether there are really two tenets. In the humble opinion of this author there are two tenets, three tenets being excessive and flowery. But that is far besides the point. The two tenets of the Father are as follows. Spread the Flame, and Suffer not the Dark. Some scholars would go so far as to say these are one tenet rather than two. A golden rule of some note. But again that is an altogether different discussion.

Spread the flame is a relatively straightforward proclamation. To “Live in the Light, and if necessary, use words”. Spreading the flame refers to the practice of expanding the body of the faith through conversion and quite literally living a life of light. To extoll virtue as a torch on a dark night that all about you are lit by your passing. In speaking of virtue, the most basic conception I can confer without getting into more advanced theological concepts is to ‘be what you are’. Fulfill your purpose in the natural order and glorify the All Father.

In Suffering not the Dark, Fatherists are called to reject corruption, entropy and decay in all of their forms. Casting out rot in the flesh and the souls of not only themselves but their fellow mortals. Going out of their way to reflect and regulate themselves. To preemptively recognize manifestations of hubris, lust or gluttony within their behaviour and within the behaviour of others. To curate oneself and one’s neighbour in a manner conducive to virtue. Generally this tenet extends to a vigorous pursuit and destruction of agents of the olde ones. Be it in granting the Father’s Mercy to wytches. Putting demons to the sword. Or the simple purchasing of charms and wards to keep a home safe. All these things satisfy the second tenet, preventing temptations from entering one’s life or the life of others. In this sense both tenets have both an internal aspect, and an external aspect. To live in such a way as to be virtuous, and to act in such a way that others will be drawn to an equally virtuous life. To blaze brightly, beautifully, purposefully against the inevitably endless night.

    “Be what you are”

    Virtue and Sin

Virtue in Fatherism is primarily concerned with purpose. If one has nothing for which they are willing to die then one is not living. It is in this philosophy that Fatherists draw their conception of virtue. Consistently, almost infuriatingly stating ‘be what you are’ to all questions. But what does that mean? To Fatherists, to be what you are is to fulfill your calling, your vocation. What you are called to do from the most primal depths of your soul. It is of course important to examine such compulsions to ensure that they are in turn a genuine call to duty rather than a child like pursuit of desire.

In this sense virtue are those things which are conducive to pursuing one’s vocation. That which focuses and reinforces this pursuit of purpose is virtuous. In such a sense for a warrior discipline, courage, honour. These are virtues conducive that heighten the profession of warring. However the purpose of the warrior is not to war. But rather to war ‘for’. The warrior fights to secure the existence of his people, his faith, his homeland. Thus virtues such as obedience, piety enter into the fray. For the warrior’s calling is to the higher ends of Faith, Family and Fatherland. And he is called to this through the avenue of justified violence.

In a similar thread one cannot be called to villainy. Villainy erupts from a place of sin. Sin being that which distracts, misleads and distorts one’s pursuit of purpose. The slothful man sins as he gives into his laziness. That which keeps him from training, from choring, from duty and service. The greedy man takes from his community that he may benefit himself. In doing so places himself above the whole and sins deeply. These are not higher callings but rather the temptations of the ancients. Luring folk from their vocation to satisfy base pleasures. Dooming these poor, weak willed souls to an eternity amidst the void

For Fatherists, life is only worth living in pursuit of purpose. It is short, a snap of the fingers, a candle in the breeze. A tiny glimpse that will determine one’s fate for aeons. Whether one will rest with the Father or dwell in the abyss. Thus duty and purpose are placed far above any selfish concerns or pleasurable pursuits. For it is foolish to pursue pleasure for an instant for damnation for eternity.

“Without hierarchy, we are less than beasts”

    The Rurikid

The Rurikid tribe’s important has often been contested by skeptical Nordish or by foreign observers. Consistently wondering why amongst the Nordish the various clans of the Rurikid bloodline reserve the exclusive right to rule the Nordish and to a greater extent the Fatherist lords. This can be traced back to the ancient lineage of the Rurikid. In short the progenitor of the entire breadth of the Rurikid is the Herald. A man by the name of Thoromir who was first granted Sacred Fire from the All Father. From this he derived his authority to rule the folk that were following him. Thus as he passed unto the next life his descendants did the same. The herald’s blood rendering them a claimant to the Herald’s legacy.

In the modern day the Rurikids can no longer be called a singular family. There are some six or seven distinct clans who can all trace their origins along the patrilineal line to Thoromir. As such any male member of these clans who is of the blood may claim the Herald’s mantle. Doing so through the ancient tradition of a moot. A process conceived by Arthas to stop Rurics from killing one another each time a different claimant wished to assert their claim. However, this does not mean that all Fatherist secular lords must be of the Rurikid. There have been myriad non fatherist lords. But to be the leader of all Fatherist clans and peoples one must be able to claim Rurikid blood.

    “Holiness, in writ”

    The Red Scrolls

The Red Scrolls are a collection of countless writings from a number of ancients, paragons and keepers. Recording both history and revelation. The latter being revealed in the form of visions granted to Keepers from the All Father. They were first compiled and translated into a cohesive organized volume by High Keeper Arthas I during the age of Apostasy. It his translations that have become the orthodox translation taken by every Keeper and Hearth Keeper that not proclaims the faith and corrects error amongst the laity. While the scriptures are not forbidden from the public the Faith lacks sufficient copies to publically distribute them. But those Fatherists who wish to personally read the scripture may do so, being given time with a copy if they visit their local Hearth Temple and ask the local Hearth Keeper.

The blind are welcome to and encouraged to read the truth proclaimed by the Scrolls. However unlike the Fatherists they must do so under supervision to ensure that they do not steal or attempt to destroy the incredibly rare and holy scriptures. The Scrolls are divided into a number of scrolls, the scrolls themselves merely being a collection of writings organized by High Keeper Arthas. The Scrolls cover topics from the birth of the world, to the birth and evolution of man to the corruption of man into the various races. The scrolls also contain a number of prophecies and reflections from various paragons and high keepers. Shedding light on various scriptural interpretations and historical events.

“To assume you do not need guidance is to reveal how very lost you are”

    Hierarchy

Without a guiding authority in faith every man would be a ship lost at sea. Wandering blind through the storm in an effort to come to truth. Thus the High Hearth serves as a teaching authority. Erecting a sacred hierarchy charged with tending the souls of the laity and enlightening the blind. It is these clerical individuals who are prompted to interpret scripture for the laity and provide moral guidance on matters of law and daily living.

It is critical that those who are serving as the teaching authority of the faith be able to do so with the legitimacy of the Father reinforcing their every word. To such ends only those who bear the Father’s presence in flame form can be held as teaching authority. All others are either drawing from the teachings of a Keeper or acting in a heretical state. In the current form of the High Hearth the hierarchy is as follows. High Keeper, Hearth Keeper, Keeper, Fatherists.

“Through ritual we convey meaning, purpose in its most efficient form”

    Ritual

Ritual in the faith is used to convey solemnity, reverence and meaning upon the laity. The environment of ritual combined with the genuine presence of the All Father serves to heighten the virtue of the laity whilst banishing sin. Fatherist ritual generally occurs for occasions of great sacred nature or solemnity. Taking place prior to a war, during a marriage, for a funeral, at a child’s entrance into the faith. These rituals depending on the learned status of the Keeper can range from hour long sessions of incense and deep Nordish chanting combined with sacrifice and procession to short sessions in the common tongue at a roadside altar. However one cannot conduct a ritual, or a blessing without the All Father’s presence. To perform a ritual or a blessing without the presence of the All Father is to perform an empty affair devoid of any real gravity. Paramount to heresy as one cannot claim the Father’s presence without bearing the sacred fire. For details on ritual one should inquire with their local Hearth Keeper.

“There is no salvation beyond the Hearth”

    Ecumenicalism

In the past there have been members of the laity and even some misguided keepers who have claimed that there are some aspects of truth beyond the Holy Hearth. This is not only misguisded and erroneous in the extreme but is actively promoting the damnation of the blind and the straying of the Fatherist children. In such light it is unacceptable to, in any way extoll the virtue of other Faiths. For a partial truth will not lead a man to salvation. Only the full roof. The pale reflections of the All Father’s truth found within other faiths cannot be conducive to salvation of the soul. They are merely illusions crafted by the temptations of the old ones with the intent of guiding the children away from the path of salvation.

To compromise in any fashion is to deny the fundamental truth and virtue of our faith. It is far more valuable to have a small but fanatically dedicated flock than those who are merely ‘culturally’ fatherist. Failing to truly live a life of light and to adhere to his tenets and teachings. Virtue without struggle, without pain is no virtue at all. And to tolerate, nae promote that which should not be tolerated is cowardice in the highest degree. The only interaction with those of other faith should be revealing unto them the Father’s Truth.

    “Service”

    Holy Wars and Purifiers

In the history of Fatherism it has occasionally become necessary to move beyond the pale of  proclaiming the word of the Father and rather to act. Whether tis to root out heresy in its most grievous forms. Purging nests of wytchery and foulness is of course a tent of the faith and must be pursued. But these deep infections of corruptions must, like a boil be lanced. The rot must be cut out with steel and flame. For this purpose the faith requires the capacity to wage Holy War. To exercise the Faith Militant to purge the cancer that infects the world, pursuing the magus, the wytch, the demon across the world until they have no shadows in which to hide.

As such the Purifiers become a necessary tool in the Father’s arsenal. Zealots dedicated to a single minded pursuit and eradication of the abomination that corrupts the mortal realm. Laypeople who have taken oaths and sworn off all personal pursuits. They are often equipped with heavy plate and bear wytch hunting materials. Bonds and weapons of aurum intended to subdue those who are infected with the magicks of the ancients, or in turn to give them mercy if they cannot be captured.

“A moment of pleasure or an eternity of pain. Truly the Father gives us an easy choice”

    Heresy

Within Fatherism there are a number of theological divergences and conflicts that have arisen over the years. The Holy Hearth, has in turn reached out and corrected these most grievous errors that would surely lead the laity away from salvation. These heresies are as follows

Presian heretics are those individuals that fundamentally deny the presence of the All Father. These individuals either claim that All Fire has the Father’s presence within it and that Sacred Fire is not different than mundane fire. Or they deny the Father’s presence on the mortal realm entirely claiming that he is some form of superfluous presence present everywhere simultaneously. There have been cases of the Father’s presence being said to be in the ‘hearts’ of men as well but such flippant urbanite sentiments are utterly unwelcome amongst the Faithful.

Parian heresies involving an error in one’s understanding of Priarchs. These heretics either claim that paragons do not exist and are anti ethical to Fatherism. Or conversely they assert the existence of Priarchs beyond the orthodox canon proclaimed by the Holy Hearth. In both cases these erroneous views devalue the fundamental meaning of the paragon. Those who have lived lives of light, having ascended to the throne of the Father to serve at his side. In denying this or devaluing it with false inflation one cheapens the lives of these virtuous individuals.

Progenian heretics claim that the All Father and the Canonist God are one and the same. A fundamentally false claim as the canonists claim their God possesses omnipotence, omniscience and omnibenevolence. Fathereists do not assert this and rather asserting a lack of universal power and knowledge with perhaps the only assertion possible being a universal goodness.

    Questions from the Laity

    How to pray? - Edyth

Prayer in the Red Faith requires one appeal to a Paragon (preferably your patron) at a dedicated paragon shrine or a Hearth temple. For minor requests one can do so without a priest. Offering the preferred sacrifices before making one's request known. Certain paragon's have preferred prayers of introduction and such that make prayers more likely to be fulfilled if used.  For more advanced requests it is suggested that one obtain the assistance of a priest or keeper.

If one were to swap paragon's how would they go about it? and if possible what are the repercussions to changing paragon? - Layla Arden

If one wishes to change paragons they must inquire with their local HEARTH KEEPER a mere keeper is insufficient for this process. The applicant will then in the presence of the hearth fire, with the attention of the All Father (as called by the Hearth Keeper) renounce the patronage of their patron paragon. Generally casting whatever icon of said paragon they had carried into the fire. This will generally enrage the paragon and it is not unheard of for discarded paragons to curse those who abandoned them. The applicant will then swear to a new paragon as they would do so at a consecration ceremony. It is worth noting that this new paragon will be less inclined to assist a supplicant that has shown a lack of loyalty to their original paragon. It is not advised that one switch paragons.

How does one get consecrated/baptised into the red faith? - Cassio

To accept the truth into one's heart is a simple affair. Approach a Keeper of any sort. This keeper will ask the supplicant three questions. This will be followed by a sprinkling of holy oils. The Keeper will then baste you with the presence of the All Father. Igniting your blinded soul and revealing unto you the All Father's glory. This will be followed by the choosing of a patron paragon, to whom the individual agrees to offer a portion of their income to in exchange for blessings and intercession.

What is a paragon and how can I choose one? - Edyth

A paragon is an honoured ancestor who has accomplished great deeds. The All Father reveals unto a number of Keepers that this ancestor not only has ascended to his realm and fights in the eternal conflict. But they occupy his throne and are capable of speaking  to him directly on behalf of the mortal folk. Thus one is then able to take them as a patron and pray to these paragons. These prayers will then be either answered by the powers of the Paragon, or the paragon will take them to the All Father to be answered himself. Paragons may and often do ignore prayers if the prayer rituals and offerings are performed improperly or are insufficiently generous. Paragons can be chosen at one's consecration.

What do you do with the bodies of the dead? - Cassio

The flesh comes from the 'mortal realm'. That realm being comprised of the dead corpses of the old ones slain by the birth of the All Father. To this end all flesh is inherently fallen and corrupt. Yet the soul of a mortal comes from the All Father himself and as such is extremely pure at the point of birth, though it is tainted throughout one's life. Thus when one dies the soul must be freed from the flesh via funeral pyre. That it may join the Father in the eternal struggle. The ashes are then stored in clan crypts.

What are the repercussions of putting out the allfathers flame? - Alifer

There is no greater crime in the Faith. Allowing a Hearth to be extinguished is the ultimate shame one has literally allowed a piece of the All Father to be permanently extinguished. Should enemies of the faith do it, that would be entirely sufficient grounds for a crusade of retribution. An extinguished hearth temple becomes permanently cursed ground. The hearth can never be relit for the shame that lies upon the temple. The extinguishing of a flamebrand is much less serious however the keeper who has allowed his flamebrand to be extinguished will never be granted another and will be permanently cast from the faith and every fatherist nation.

What is the relationship of the Ashtree to the Red Faith? - Alvar

The perceived association of the Ashtree to the Red Faith is mostly cultural association from the peasants and some more brutalistic warriors. In truth there is no formal association. The Ash tree is just a consistent source of light and placed at the center of fatherist settlements making it a highly contested area for Paragon shrines. Paragon cults have been known to fight over control of the Ashtree shrines. There are some myths about the All Father granting his walking stick to Eirik that his settlements might be protected even at night, but this topic has yet to be discussed by the Hearth Council.

What are the marriage rites of the Red Faith? - Erik

Both clans will gather to witness the joining of their clans. The proposing clan will offer a grand feast prior to the binding ceremony. The accepting clan will offer a grand feast after the binding ceremony. The bride's family is expected to offer a dowry (sum of goods or money) to the groom at the binding so that the wife can be supported until the  groom is able to. At the binding ceremony the chosen Keeper will ask the couple to take the Father's vows. Each pledging to keep the other in the Father's light and to help their spouse adhere to the Father's code. They will then have a red ribbon tied about their hands which will be light afire by the Keeper. Signalling to the Father that they are forevermore joined. Divorce is prohibited in the Faith. What the Father joins cannot be separated.

I’m already paying a city tax will there be a Temple Tithe as well? - Alvar

It is expected you donate 10% of your earnings to the local temple, specifically to your patron paragon. While not mandatory or coerced by priests, failure to do this will heavily anger your paragon and make them unlikely to fulfill your prayers or grant you blessings.
