Your application is well-written but I'd like to let you know that you can't necessarily learn/know about magic through your parents leaving behind tomes; usually you read about it in a library or hearing it from someone. And to actually practice it, you must submit a Magic Application (MA) and have someone willing to teach you with an accepted Teacher Application (TA). • Biography | It seems you've gotten the time periods a bit confused, but not to worry, I'll help clarify! You've stated that Tokin visited Lin'sulan after living in Taliyna'maehr; though Lin'sulan is a high elven settlement that was located in Vailor so it currently no longer exists. Perhaps you can try switching the two! — State that Tokin lived in Lin'sulan when he was younger and moved to Taliyna'maehr when he moved to Axios, or remove Lin'sulan completely.

• Rules | And to help clarify, /d40 is a command implemented into LOTC to allow a player to kill their minecraft character, muchl like dying mcly. It's only time when it's really used is when you've been killed by someone and they've decided that you execute this command. As for rolls, when you input the /roll command, anyone within proximity will be able to witness the roll and the number; so there's no lying/less confusion. And yes, mechanic pvp is normal pvp.

And to answer your question about lockpicking, lockpicking is a mechanic on LOTC that allows a player to bypass LWC (aka lock plugin) through valid roleplay. Though, in order to do such, you must have the actual lockpick item that can be purchased from many venues secretly hidden around the map. Lockpicks lower the roll you need to achieve in order to successful unlock a door; it's main purpose is for extra convenience.
