How did you find out about Lord of the Craft?: I come a large RP server, its been mentioned and i'm finally checking it out because I've heard only amazing things from it! What is roleplaying?: To me Roleplaying is stepping into another person's shoes and feeling what they are feeling their pain, joy, and sadness. Its an act of threatre and a way to escape from real life and joining a world of fantasy where anything and everything is possible. What is metagaming?: Metagaming is the act of bending the laws and rules of the environment into helping yourself in which affects what you can do, know, and see. Such as a character sharing a weakness in OOC and you using that weakness immediately to get the leg up, or someone pointing out their own position and you noticing them at that instant. What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: Powergaming is the act of forcing a move onto someone or something without taking consideration of the area, atmosphere, and storytelling. The person is more likely determined to do something to that person . An example being "Stabs Person in the neck killing him almost instantly" or "Stabs Person in chest". In-Character Information Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Character’s name: Kayne Barkridge Character’s sex: Male Character’s race: Human Highlander Character’s age: 25 Biography (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add three references to the server lore.): (where does your character come from?; where have they traveled to?; what year were they born in? et cetera.) Kayne was born on a sunny day into a Kaedrin family in the nation of Oren at the Abresi captial located in the fine Realm of Vailor. As Kayne grew he began to notice that his family was slowly having to sell all of their household items. The reason being was their family business had not been able to pay the taxes, therefore it was closed. Job's at this time were hard to find, his Father eventually having to support the whole family by joining the GC and protecting the city. Getting little money from this his father quit and journeyed out to find a job in another town, by this time Kayne was 13. His Father sent money home until one day it mysteriously stopped? Soon enough they had gotten word that the body of Theodore Barkridge, Kayne's Father, had been found. It turned out to be that Theodore had been robbed and killed on the way home from work, the thieves were never caught. Kayne's mother couldn't even afford a funeral for her beloved husband, this would make her feel horribly guilty and spiral down into a long lasting depression. By now Kayne was 15 and ready to begin work. Abresi had cleared up a lot by now which made it easier for Kayne to get a job as a server at the local tavern. Kayne could provide little for his family but worked hard and long enough just to make it through each month. He did this until the age of 17 when he found a found a better paying job of working on the outskirts of town for an old Farmer. Working for 2 years straight at this Farm hardened him into a strong young man, eventually the Farmer died of old age when Kayne was 19, on the Farmer's will was written that Kayne would be receiving all of the Farmer's inheritance! Kayne couldn't be happier as this money would soon be helping him pursue his dreams! He kissed his Mother, Aria Barkridge, goodbye and began traveling the world with this money. By the age of 22 he had traveled to 1 realms, Vailor, 3 nations Krinfird, Sancuary, and Orenian Empire, and 4 cities Sutica, Johannesburg, Felsen, and Avalon. Eventually Kayne would return to his home and find his Mother laying at home ill, Kayne did everything he could do for her but in the bitter end she died at the age of 67 after a year of battle with the sickness.. Kayne mourned her death and held a funeral for her, not many attended as Aria didn't have many friends at this point of time. Kayne was now 23 and wasn't sure on what to do with his life now, so he did the only thing he knew how, wander. He became a Nomad and hit the road journeying throughout the nations, selling what he could for about any money he could get. Kayne in the present now being 25 continues to wander the lands, trying to escape his past. . . Personality Traits: (what are your character's quirks?; habits?; likes and dislikes?) Kayne is a peaceful gentleman but does what he needs to survive and prosper. He's more a keep to himself kind of guy who appears to be a bit grumpy all the time. He has got a bad habit of making jokes at the worst times and doesn't really care for the people around him. He loves nature and plants, he also has a fondness for its wildlife, this is because of him usually camping out in the forests. He has a major dislike towards people who are full of themselves and isn't too fond of violence. Ambitions: My character aspires to one day actually settle down and have a family of his own. Strengths/Talents: My character has a talent for survival due to him sleeping in the woods a lot and has enhanced senses Weaknesses/Inabilities: Kayne has a very big fear of loud noises and bugs. His weakness's are more likely being able to make friends, he's not too good of a fighter, He has a tendency to get extremely mad pretty easily, and he keeps a grudge after something happens. Kayne as well isn't as strong as he looks and is a bad thief when it comes to stealing. Appearance: (what does your character look like?; how tall are they?; hair color?; scars?) Kayne would be a 6'3 man with black scruffy hair, blue eyed, medium sized man with a scar running down his back from an encounter with an Orc.
