OUTMATCHED BY DUNGRIMM’S CHOSEN ONE.
Sigrun ‘Dragonslayer’ Ireheart’s prowess in combat, unmatched.
Issued by High Keeper Ellenore, on the 12th of The First Seed, year 147 of The Second Age; within the SACRED halls of URGUAN’S THRONEROOM, before Sigrun ‘Dragonslayer’ Ireheart.
“I have to commend Grand Marshal Sigrun ‘Dragonslayer’ Ireheart for his bravery and prowess in battle, where he truly showed incredible martial ability by beating our forces.” - High Keeper Ellenore
By word of the High Keeper, envisioned and ordained by the righteous servant of the ALL-FATHER
PREAMBLE
In the year 147 of The Second Age, I, High Keeper Ellenore foolishly made the decision to aid The Vale against a combined Urguani-Haelun’orian force.
On this day, I was met on the battlefield by the greatest military commander of recent times, Grand Marshal Sigrun ‘Dragonslayer’ Ireheart.
Under the command of Sigrun ‘Dragonslayer’ Ireheart, the combined Norlandic-Vale forces were quickly decimated by the superior tactics employed by Sigrun ‘Dragonslayer’ Ireheart.
I, High Keeper Ellenore have never witnessed a more fearsome, honourable, badass, tactical, smart, strong-willed, courageous, fearless, unceasing, then Grand Marshal Sigrun ‘Dragonslayer’ Ireheart.
After we were defeated, we have come to the following agreement:CONTENTS
I.
High Keeper Ellenore fully admits defeat in face of Urguan, and the two nations shall now have peace with one another.II.
High Keeper Ellenore fully admits that Grand Marshal Sigrun ‘Dragonslayer’ Ireheart has outclassed Norland time and time again in martial capability.III.
Grand Marshal Sigrun ‘Dragonslayer’ Ireheart is always eligible to get a free drink at Norland’s tavern from this point onwards.Signed and Ordained by the will of the Father before His most Sacred Flame, Ellenore, High Keeper of the Sacred Flame, Master of the Order of the First Flame, Righteous Servant of the Red Lord, Loyal Adherent to the Ashen Way
Signed,
Sigrun ‘Dragonslayer’ IreheartGrand Marshal of Urguan, Grand Champion of Urguan,
Dragonslayer, Priest of Dungrimm27 -
Nexus had Blackferrum be 'better' steel. If you're going in the direction of Netherite being the better version of current iron armor, have it just be called 'blackferrum', not only does it visually make sense, but historically it is consistent with how blackferrum was represented mechanically.
Edit: It does help with the RP around netherite atm, considering that many Nations are conducting trade due to netherite scarcity. Having the material be 'blackferrum' does let anyone RPly craft blackferrum lorewise and doesn't really impact anything so significantly for it to cause problems with lore.14 -
"The FATHER wills this." The High Keeper spoke with gravitas

The High Keeper read over the missive, taking note of the many inconsistencies found within that were not of reality. "Claiming Norland to be an ancient ally? A joke. Bakir Ireheart himself distanced the Kingdom of Urguan away from the Realm of Norland - we were never allies with this belligerent fool. They so vilely allude to us being allies, let alone even attempt to deceive others into believing we are so honorless." The Keeper pointed out. "His predecessor did not come to us for an alliance, and Garedyn himself refused to even sign on to a non-aggression pact with the Realm. Let us not fail to mention that this missive neglects the entirety of Bakir's wrongs, the menace spitting upon the Matriarch of Nevaehlen, insulting her, and then throwing a blow at one of her men. The coronation wasn't concluded, it was interrupted by a foul maleficar, and continued to be prolonged by Bakir stirring trouble and insulting one of our longest allies."

"Only through Faith might layman Andrei Bukoski find work and purpose - for service guarantees salvation by his Divine Light." Ordained by the Will of the Father before His Sacred Flame, The High Keeper Ellenore Eiriksson, Master of the ORDER OF THE FIRST FLAME, Servant of the RED LORD, and Loyal Adherent to the Ashen Way spoke, with righteous purpose, contemplating the mysteries of Faith within the Temple of the Red Lord.

Norland's government type would be Bandit Kingdom or Theocratic Monarchy

"While I do not disagree that the Long Dark has come time and again through the ages, even so early as a few months ago to destroy our new homelands of Nyrheim through the Mori's hand, did not the people of Norland band together the descendants of this new wasteland to beat down the disgusting agents of ruin who consume the flesh of the newborn and unborn?" Vykk considers the words of this open journal before offering his conclusion. "It would seem to me that Norland is lighting the way of morality and leading the descendants into a safer era, not stagnating like you may posit."
"This is nae true. As it was in Alisgrad, the Fatherless live amongst us in mass, and few do wish to be Faithful to the Father." The High Keeper sighed, reluctant to accept the current state of Norland. "Futhermore, t'was nae Norland that rallied the banners of Righteousness, but the Brotherhood of the Flame and the Númenedain. The people of Norland rallied to the call after Hilda Freysson, Balon Eiriksson, and the Princess of Minas Amath truly called upon the Righteous of Failor to unite against the vile forces of Redclyf. The initiative for such is nae for us to claim, but for Balon and Hilda."

"Bring it down! Bring it down!" The High Keeper shouted from atop horseback whilst wielding a hammer, watching many Númenedain, Norlanders, Haelun'orians, and Wee Folk bring down a great monstrosity of the Failorians. The battle remained fierce.

"I've lived near three centuries, an' I've never seen so a force so bold, so righteous, so just as the one which was assembled by both Canonist, and Fatherist. Those of Norland, Minas Amath, the Wee Folk, and many others of whom hailed from various other city-states and realms." High Keeper Ellenore gazed upon the horizon, as many races had gathered to combat a foe so impure and vile, truly a sight to behold. "Let not our differences keep us from delivering justice upon these defilers of righteousness."

"The beacons have been lit." High Keeper Ellenore reads over the missive.

"A mostly accurate work." The High Keeper commented, after having briefly reviewed said work of Faith literature. "However, there is a definite lack of specification when it comes to the Father's conception, and his role within the estranged hierarchy that is the cosm."
"A few jabs could improve this."

Doesn't make particular sense for Old Norlandic to descend from Jorenic? If anything, it is its own tree. Likely, you'd be better off having the tree start with common, than flexio, and have subsequent language groups descend into the much broader ones. Aka, Common -> Old Norlandic, Common -> Jorrenic(if it is even an actual language, and not just those who were around Jorren). Old Norlandic in particular functions similar to Flexio, it is a primarily religious language spoken only by the Keepers of the Red Faith. The idea of this tree is really cool, but I feel a lot of languages are quite disconnected from one another and never actually originated from something else.

We shouldn't have Norland completely across the map from Oren
Not sure why these two groups would want to settle within a thousand blocks of one another.
Also brings into question how many biomes one tile would have. Seems like it'd be fairly difficult to have desert, plains, forests, mountains, snow, jungles and all that contained to one area, especially when other groups that aren't human also want to be in biomes just like that. Realistically, this doesn't seem particularly feasible unless you want to forcefully absolve any cultural distinctions between player groups. Norland doesn't get to be snowy, Barrowlands doesn't get to have the hinterlands aesthetic, and Balian no longer gets to be Byzantine anymore.
