In the year 1568, Frederick was born to father Jeremiah, an aspiring enchanter in the city of Johannesburg, and mother Tamicah. Growing up, Frederick was taught to be well mannered and respect those above him. He rarely caused trouble, and preferred to bury his nose in his father's books, than go out on the town. When he was twelve years old, a mage from the Silver State of Haelun'or paid Johannesburg a visit. There, Frederick was captivated by the mysteries of magic, and grew a deep passion for it. A few years later, when the boy was 16 years old, plague ravaged his district of the city. His mother succumbed to the disease and died. His father, distraught after his wife's death, ended his quest on becoming an enchanter. He told his son, "Son, go out into the world. Do better, for me and your mother."
So at the age of 18 he set off on his own, searching for a teacher. His travels took him all over the Empire, from the Wood Elven city of Linandria to the cold Dutchy of the Westerlands. When civil war broke out between the Courlanders and the Empire, he returned home, hoping he could find someone with the skillset he needs... somewhere within the chaos of war.
