  1. An 'Ame looked through the missive as it passed into her hands, gazing over the words written upon the paper before tucking it aside as she pondered to herself "Our kind remains shattered and broken no matter where one looks, children of our kind tortured by filthy zealots, and many hung up, as if we serve as trophies to be displayed, yet the only response most of our kind can offer is just words, no action, no lead, no example for Malian to follow." Her thoughts paused as she whistled for her horse, jumping up into the saddle before she began to ride off "Perhaps I shall pay Fenn a visit and see if much has changed since I last met them." She thought, though it was likely, the woman was going to wander until she found other Mali she deemed suitable to band together with, but perhaps things could be different from she would originally think.

A Mali'Aheral looked over these words as she sat somewhere private, and just simply pondered on these words, a wealth of possibilities and ideas begin to form in her mind.
"Very interesting.." Is all she remarked quietly to herself.

  2. This was kinda already covered in a post awhile back, I think.

Honestly it comes to down to being the change you wanna see on the server. But I think most people opt for option C because most people OOCly are just bored with conflict that happens on the server, most it isn't engaging imo and it is reflected in the Roleplay. Someone give me that New Vegas tier conflict, and I'd be engaged, even if it is my persona's face being kicked in.

  3. Maeyrn's face twisted in a frustrated manner after learning about the passing of Vival. She didn't spend as much time with the 'Ker as she would have liked, but the man inspired her with his leadership and lessons that he imparted upon her. A shame that he had fallen in the defense of Elvenesse, over the pride of a dragon, though she knew his sacrifice would be a tale among his people. She gritted her teeth as she rode along the path upon her stead as she headed west, the rage within her growing and growing as events pass. "Rest well, I shall do my best to defend your people and hope our kin unite together." It was all she muttered out, hoping her words would reach the 'Ker.

  4. The 'Ame managed to escape the inferno that had engulfed Elvenesse, angry at herself as she and many others were unable to do anything. She let out a howl of pure wrath, barely able to contain her fury. She knew they fell due to the forces being divided by the trickery of the Azdromoth forces, letting them to being scattered, unable to enact on whatever plans were brought forward to stop the beast. Certainly frustrated with the turn of events of the past Elven week, and all she was able to do was let out a scream in petty name-calling "No dragons were fought this day, only snakes suffocating around my kin."

She dropped to her knees, a crest-fallen sensation washed over her "Perhaps we will learn to unite, more so, after this terrible tragedy.." She'd mutter, coming to a rise after some minutes past, whistling for her horse as she rode to Krugmar, preparing for training the next Elven day.

  5. Maeyrn looked over this missive with a small smile upon her features, "Finally.. Another shows themselves. I hope to find this Mali." She then took a step away as she moved out of the city she found herself in, and returned with in the forests, the wild winds filling her lungs as she thought to herself the possibilities that could unfold, to show all children of Mali the ways of yore succeeded with reason, her kin remains divided, attempting to emulate Valah kind, fighting over petty matters, no care for others outside their own dogma or family, all one had to do was look upon most of the Elven Nations that once stood, fell into stagnation and crumbled under the weight of their own fatty greed. "We need to display the power of our kin united, and soon, all will be perfectly balanced once more."

  6. "Hm.." A certain 'Ame would hum to herself as she read over the words, reflecting upon her first meeting with Fennic people and what unfolded that day. She then simply turned as she began to take her leave, preparing herself for future training.

  8. Music

It was a strange day for the woman who lived a storied life, the world as she had come to see it began to fade from her vision, and with it, a return to old doubts. Much had happened during her return to Yong Ping after spending years wandering and mediating, after seeing the Monastery her friend had founded dwindled in numbers, she set about to restore it, however she could. Quickly finding many students willing to take the path and simply teaching or aiding those who required such from her, making new friends along her journey to do such, and beginning to make amends with her past that had caused anguish upon those who she most cared for. A simple smile formed upon her features as she reflected upon the new experiences she had, but the sense of bygone dread left her feeling entrapped and quickly overwhelmed her.

She did her best to mediate over this, once more her thoughts conflicted with one another upon the steps she should take, all desolate where they led. She couldn't stop thinking of all that was happening in the lands, how strange and dangerous it had become, even more so than she felt in Arcas. The thought about the threat delivered to her brought her out of her state of mediation, coming to a rise as she moved somewhere more private to collect her thoughts, fearing her inaction will lead her down a dark path against her will like long ago, she gathered her things. Still formulating a plan what to do, should she contact her friends within and outside the city and explain what worries her, should she try to act alone upon such? What would she even do, she asked herself, attempt to fight a chaotic world?

What little she had was packed, she thought upon what Anya had told her, blinking as she realized what she should do now. Pulling the satchel over her shoulder, she moved to leave, though not before she took the time to fill out a note for her fellow Monks and students. She pinned it within the lower area of the Monastery before exiting. She felt a certain contentment with her realization, she has seen plenty in her time, a world under siege twice, Nations rising and falling. Why bother to try to save the whole world, when small actions could mean it for another? After all, it was the duty of one such as herself to guide change, not enforce it. She spent sometime traveling around before she found who she was looking for.

    Her son, her child.

She approached towards them, and without warning wrapped them into a tight embrace. It was an emotional encounter for her, apologizing for being seemingly distant in his childhood, explaining her reasoning and all she’d been through during that time, telling him how much he mattered to her and how much she loved and care for him. The two simply spoke with each other, Mia feeling more content as they conversed, the dread receding its grip upon her, a bright smile upon her features once more as the two reconnected. The two agreed to stick together and find a new home together, hoping to start up a farm once more, like she did so long ago. And the two simply walked off to start such. The Elven woman filled with a simple, new-found purpose.

    The Note left behind read.

    Spoiler

“To all my fellow Monks, Students, and friends, there has been a great change in the world, and I must direct my attention elsewhere, to my students I thank you for the time we spent together, it was wonderful to meet you all and help instruct you on this path.

Anya, I must thank you for what experience you impart on me, and I intend to act on what I said I would.

Rhael, when I return I plan to do my best to make up what happened long ago, as I owe you that much, but I have something important I must attend. I will be safe, not to worry and first sign of trouble I'll come straight to you.

Soloman, I am unsure of the full details of what troubles you currently, and I wish I were able to help more, however, from my experience the only way for one to pull themselves out of a bad situation is to act upon it themselves. When I was stuck on a dark path long ago, the ‘reasonable’ thing for me to have done was stick with it, as it had caused me to betray all those I cared about, but yet, still I reached out and managed to change my path and slowly made amends for what I did. Do the same, show you can change, and I ensure you all will be well.

To all, should I ever be needed, you may call upon me and when I find the time I shall try and help however I can. Remember all that you have learned with your time at the Monastery.”

((I'll be shelving Mia for the time being, been playing her for about three years and I need a break from the persona.))

((Bit of a OOC retrospective below for anyone to read if they wished in regard to Chi.))

    Spoiler

I ultimately believe under a different set of circumstances Chi could have thrived somewhat more, though with the rewrite it started off rough. Starting off the TAs were kept 'in-house' and it should have be distributed out some more, though at the time it didn't really seem like much of an issue since we had a fair few players who at the time were active. Though it didn't last as myself included left the server for a while, some left simply because they had to focus on IRL matters rather than LotC, for myself I've seen a lot of people be dragged through the dirt over the past 3 years I've been on this server, and most of the time it is over petty things that should be expected to happen on an RP server, IRP conflicts, mistakes made by people because they're people, and they get a rep stick with them for life, though I won't go anything further into it here, but it is hard to watch, so I took my leave.

When I came back I knew it was going to be a bit of an uphill battle to get Chi back on the right track, though I achieved my goals in what I considered would be enough to allow Chi to remain so issues with it could be worked on, I grew the numbers of the Monastery and heard of plenty of people who were interested in the magic, talking with a few ST about what could be done to improve it. My plan was just simply revive, grow, and then expand, which was just getting the magic active once more, getting people interested in it, then expanding upon it with simple lore pieces or reworks to aid with RP as a Chi Monk.

The only thing that I wish the ST did that was different was just talk with the Chi Community about the issues they had with the magic, so it could have been addressed, if LotC is meant to be this collaborative RP platform then you kinda need to collaborate with the communities. I will admit I am unsure if other members of such were informed about the issues with Chi, but it sucks when I came back about a month ago doing my best to try and revive the magic to only be told it is going to be shelved and have all the issues listed, some of which I feel like I was only three paragraphs from solving.

Regardless, I had fun with the time that was spent, and have solace in Chi being shelved for reasons I won't go explain here, my main purpose for writing this is, so I hope no one else has to go through this, it really sucks to spend time to write things and then ultimately have whatever work you had be wasted.

Now I'm going to commit war crimes and terrorism on a Wood Elf. Have fun.

  9. Question 1: What is one thing you dislike about Orcs/Krugmar? How can it be improved?

This is all my opinion obv and formed from what little I've seen and heard about Orcs, however.. Their Blessing, specifically what I saw in 'Clarification on Orcs'. The bit I'll link below.

    59309aa8cc5fa97e78cf7e4f80c2dba5.png

From most of the RP I've seen and heard about Orcs, they're essentially Super Mutants from Fallout 3/4 or LotR Orcs. Big Green Bandits with no goal outside of kill whatever they come across (and or taking slaves in the case of Orcs). Now most 'outsiders' would say this kind of behavior isn't honorable, however, with how the Blessing Clarification is written you can twist anything into being 'honorable' because Honor is subjective, which is true enough, but I'd like to point out the blessing was provided by Aeriel, a lawful good God, who would've had something specific in mind of what is honorable and what isn't, even the quote in the screenshot above indicates that Orcs would be honorable even in a world of Descendants that completely lacked a moral code. From what I understand back in Aegis Orcs are very different from what they are today, hearing tales of Orcs that were wronged would 'raid' the homes of the individual/s that wrong them, but they only came after those that wrong them, not the entire settlement and I don't believe slavery was a thing back then for Orcs and actually actively fought slavers because it was unhonorable to take slaves.

The reason this 'subjective' honor is annoying as well is that isn't really how cultures work at all, how one should act honorable is baked into the culture, take some Greek Stories for example, like The Iliad, it shows Achilles act honorable and dishonorable, whenever he acted with honor he was 'rewarded' in some form, such as when he refused to fight because King Agamemnon wronged him, Zeus agreed to help him by bringing Agamemnon's army to breaking point, later on Agamemnon admits his faults he sends an Embassy to make amends, by returning Briseis and offering gifts to Achilles, so he'd return to fighting, the honorable thing for Achilles here was to accept the gifts and return to the fighting, but he refuses, and because he refused to fight and let his friend Patroclus fight in his steed and Patroclus was killed, so Achilles returns to the fighting anyway, indifferent about getting Briseis and the gifts.

From stories like these that span across multiple cultures there is a very set standard on honor in each culture, things like honor do evolve over time, but the way that lore piece was written to me just came across as just attempting to circumvent the blessing with just "Oh it's subjective by individual that should be debated about." You should have what is defined to be honorable and dishonorable somewhere in the culture, what is generally accepted to be, whenever in stories or simple posts making statements about how Orcs should act honorable. Unironically, I think the only posts that I can recall off the top of my head about how to act honorable as an Orc is basically how to treat your slaves.

Question 2: What is one thing you like/admire about Orcs/Krugmar?

Can provide interesting RP with the layout of people cursed with a horrible bloodlust with the blessing of acting honorable, they have an interesting predicament which I think can generate interesting and rememberable RP, remember not all conflict has to be physical battle against another, conflict can be a clash of ideologies or internal struggles that one wishes to overcome. The most interesting Orc I remember from the top of my head was ilikefooddude's Orc as it was a refreshing experience from the usual encounters I had at the time, as he was the polar opposite of what the standard Orc was.

Question 3: What do you think Orcs/Krugmar biggest opportunity for improvement is?

Redesign the culture, try to promote RP within the Nation aside from just having a strong PvP culture, you need to incorporate all kinds of RP, Slice of Life, conflict, etc, focusing on one is just going to let the Nation die. With the culture write out docs and the like, Nations with strong culture are a lot more appealing, and you need to also keep it interesting, remember anytime anyone reads over what Krug posts or an Orc player posts could be the difference between getting a player or just making them think the Nation is just Goonery.

  10. Mia would awaken after sometime had past, having pushed herself to the limit this day, helping Luciensburg attempt to take back their home, as well as healing plenty of people from the aftermath. She'd make her way outside, wandering for sometime before finding the missive and reading over it, taking in a small breath, glad that Toffee is attempting to reach forward to the Descendants in such a manner, after all it was her suggestion, but it suddenly hit her, an intense burden of sorts, she very well could have determined the course of history for the Musin with her suggestion to the leader of the Musin. Her feelings were mixed on how the other Descendants might react, but she knew it was better that than to live in constant fear and leaving that to drive the Musin forward. She'd ponder for a moment, on the possibilities of the future, while she'll remain cautious she will still be hopeful for a better future for all, either way, willing to help the Musin secure their future however she could.

  11. Mia was just thankful to safely get in the City when she decided to visit to check the stock on her stall during the raid, having no real stake in this war

What magic(s) will you be teaching?

             Chi (Way of Moon)

Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:

Chi is the use of a potent version of Mana that lives inside living beings, such as Descendants. An individual may learn Chi once their Chi Channels have been opened by a teacher, after which the newly connect person will take on the Path their teacher will teach them, either Way of the Sun or Way of the Moon. Each path contains different abilities, though Sun Chi centers around a more 'aggressive' style allowing a Monk to infuse their strikes with Chi, while those of Moon Chi tend to be ones focused on healing or providing a method of feelings of peace through Chi Pools or a Ritual of Calming. The different paths of Chi have specific coloured auras (that can change shade), Sun having colours of Red and Moon having colours of Blue. All Chi Monks have Chi Feeling that is always active which at first would overload the senses of a Monk, with colours of black/grays, red, and blues in a blurry mess, Red and Blue Chi are produced by everyone depending on their mood though it isn't a surefire way, for example Red can mean a fiery rage or just simple energetics to the individual, though black/gray Chi is simply the lack of Chi, anything without a soul has this, but it would normally be as simple as some as soil, stone, etc. Chi Feeling can later on replace sight in a Monk but at first it is too overwhelming as stated above as is a hindrance.

Chi abilities require using Chi Slots, every monk regardless of tier has 5 slots, the more and more a Monk uses up their Chi slots, they become more exhausted, being able to bring themselves to the point of utter exhaustion and possibly passing out if they use too much Chi, as it is physically exhausting. An individual Chi slot regenerates every 2 hours outside of combat. Depending on the Chi ability a single focus can be used for two abilities that only exhausts a single Chi Slot, anything that is two and higher will require the Monk to refocus their Chi to cast.

Are there different sections or subsections of magic? Can those be elaborated upon?

Sun Chi, as slightly described above, elaborating on it, it is an 'aggressive' usage of Chi, giving a Monk a more combative approach to Chi, such as granting them the ability to utter crush an individual with a powerful attack focused with Chi that can even dent armor, lots of the other Sun Chi abilities work similar by focusing the Chi into their strikes.

Can you give an example of a casting emote, of a spell of your choice?

Mia looks down from the pole she climbed atop of, her being still as she focused the Chi inside her, her eyes turning blue and as a somewhat 'misty' cloud began to focus around her hands, keeping her balance while doing this.

The Aura around her hands begin to form around her legs now, the woman controlling her breathing as she'd keep balancing on the pole, as she kept focusing her Chi, preparing the Chi around her legs and hands, so she can land without incident.

The Chi surrounding her legs and hands begin to glow more intensely, Mia begins to lower down somewhat as she was preparing to leap from the pole she stood atop, doing her best not to look down at the ground below for the moment.

Mia waited for a moment, the Chi she'd focused was now ready to aid with her descent from the pole, she'd swing one leg forward as the other would push her off the pole, she'd begin falling shortly after, bringing her hands out and straightening her legs as she began to 'glide' downwards to the ground, as the Chi focused around those parts began rushing out.

Throughout Mia's descend towards the ground, she'd constantly adjust her legs and hands to ensure her 'fall' towards the ground was a smooth as possible, still the stream of Chi was rushing from her legs and hands the woman's focus not broken during her decline of height, having come closer towards the ground now, she'd adjust her legs and finally her feet found the ground, as she'd land gracefully, the Chi dissipates from the woman's features and limbs as she'd wander away.

Can you give an example of a teaching-emote (interacting with another) of a spell of your choice?

Mia would guide her student to a spot within the Monastery "I'll teach you a Ritual that can provide others with a tranquil feeling, it is a basic Chi Ritual that will help you learn how to properly focus your Chi for later on when you learn more about the Way of Moon." She'd say as she came to the ground, opting to sit in a Lotus Position, just across from her student, instructing them "Now, begin to focus your Chi." Shortly after, her eyes begin to glow Blue as she also began to focus her Chi, a blue, light misty aura forming around her.

The new Monk followed Mia through the Monastery, offering a nod as they listened to what she said, as they arrived within the spot they'd follow Mia, adopting the same position of meditation, themselves beginning to focus their Chi, their aura beginning to form

"Good, now just focus on my words." She'd say to the student, as her mind began to enter a state of meditation, shutting her eyes as her Aura expanded slowly "You want to try to mediate as you do this, and reflect on moments of peace as you continue focusing building up the Chi within yourself." The woman's form becomes still as she'd control her breathing in this meditation, taking in a deep breath and holding it before letting it back out, repeating this process.

The Monk offered a nod to Mia's instruction, shutting their eyes as they'd attempt to enter meditation, reflecting on peaceful moments as they'd focus on building up Chi within themselves, their aura begins to expand shortly after.

Mia began to speed her breathing up as her aura expanded as much as it could, pulsing somewhat in its glow, still focusing the Chi within her form as she'd remain in mediation

The Student merely kept building up the Chi within themselves, their aura building until it no longer was able, both of the Monks within each others' Ritual, the new Monk still reflecting on peaceful thoughts

"Now, extend the Chi outside your form." Mia would say, doing as such her pushing the Chi out of her form, still remaining in her meditation as a feeling would wash over the two, one of being in tune with the world around them, providing feelings of peace and calm to the two if they accepted its influence.

The Monk held the Chi within themselves a little moment longer before following Mia's instruction, their Chi being sent out as Aura around them would induce a feeling of peace and setting people at ease if they were in the radius and accepted it.

Mia would hold her Ritual for another moment longer to be coming out of her state of meditation, feeling the new Monk's peaceful aura, offering a small smile "Very good, you can hold this aura for a small while before you'd have to perform it again from after focusing your Chi, be sure to train this every day." she'd say, as she'd remain as  the new Monk held the ritual.

Say your student powergames during or after teaching, how do you reprimand that?

This depends on the situation, if it is in closed doors during training, I'll better explain to the student that it was power gamed and to let them know not to do such in future and tell them to talk to me if they have any questions regarding what would be considered power gaming with the magic. I'd also take the time to remind them if they are power gaming when using their magic they can receive infractions and could potently lose the magic or be blacklisted from it in the future, and that if they get a reputation for power gaming Magic they'll find it harder to get teachers in the future, after that, I'd simply be keeping an eye on the student best I can to ensure that they don't continue to power game, if I find they continue to do so, outside of training, due to ignoring what I told them in the past then I'd inform the ST about the situation and telling my Student that I'd already informed them not to do such, if they're still learning the magic I'll tell them that they need to do better and that if I find out that they've been power gaming for a second time in such a manner that I will no longer teach them and that I'll inform the ST about the situation.

If this happens after teaching and the student had demonstrated in the past that they were able to use the magic without power gaming then I'd ask them about the situation, if it turns out to be a mishap then I'd repeat with the warnings that I would have given in the paragraph above, if I find that it wasn't a slight mishap, and they were blatantly power gaming the magic then I'd simply inform the ST what the user was up to.

  14. Just some advice since this could be a really cool piece of lore, I think just expanding on some of these spells and how they actually work.

For example Detect Witch, I think you'll have a really hard time getting that kinda spell past due to how abusable it could be, situation would be I know OOCly someone is a Witch and I just say RPly my persona decides to check this person, if they resist I know they have some form of magic, if they don't then I find out, but I think making it generally detect any form of magic could prevent it from being abusable as it doesn't strictly target a certain magic. You'll also need to explain more in depth I believe about how this spell functions, is it all magics aside from Malleanism, and why does it affect those magics? I did see you weren't familiar with other magics, so you could outline what determines it, as for example Kani and Chi are sort of just using a type of mana that is natural in all things, you aren't necessarily calling upon a divine power or summoning **** from the Void.

The healing spells will need a bit more fleshing out, I know ST want to be careful with them as they don't want it to be a simple "Whoosh, you're healed."  Though it is interesting with group heal how it leaves them hungry afterwards, so it could be some form of putting the body into overdrive to heal?

I honestly think with some more work this lore piece could be passed, as it is an interesting set of lore with a brief look over.

  15. Unironically this is why I try not to give a **** about this server, I'll still play on it but literally no matter how hard anyone ******* screams it just seems like nobody is able to fix the most basic of issues, be it because staff members are red taped from being able to actually do anything or just straight up don't give a **** about the server and only hang around as a staff member for the clout because they did something years ago. Like lol.

Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

Musin are creatures that are akin to mice, having similar appearance to the common house mice, which has a variety of colours and patterns. They often have patchwork clothing, as it tends to come from 'recycled' materials. The height of the Musin are between 1'8 and 2'6 tall, with a tail being as long as they are. Musin weight ranges from 20 to 30 pounds, and Musin have three eye colours, red, pink and black. Musin are a clean race, having adopting bathing and grooming to keep up with others in the world. There isn't any distinctive features to define a difference between gender, only whatever styling the Musin give themselves, such as makeup, trimming of the fur and outfits, however, females do have a different sounding voices from males.

Musin live for about 70 years, the differences between a young Musin and an older Musin are the pigments in the exposed skin, such as paws and tails, becoming pale after being 65 years old. They're physically mature at 12 and considered an adult when they're 15. Musin can have two to three children at a time, their pregnancies much shorter than most races, only being 3 months, these babies are at first blind and extremely weak until they are older. The size of and lack of strength of the Musin make them horrible in combat, but gives them an advantage of being a lot harder to hit.

Musin are scavengers by nature, inordinately so, doing their utmost best to ensure nothing goes to waste and always trying to recycle, even taking from others, they don't see it as stealing but as a type of reclamation, however, they try not to take from other Musin or those that are poor. Musin clean themselves about twice a day to prevent them from being taken from diseases or being infested with fleas, they find cleaning themselves as an enjoyable luxury. Musin tend to be pacifistic due to necessity as they are unable to contend against most of the other races due to size alone. They are fast learners despite a lack of formal educations though their overall understanding of most technology is limited as of the moment thus leading to their crafting to be less than ideal though they have small dexterous hands. Musin are curious and absolute love of adventure, they tend to be superstitous, however, and believe in 'The Giant' believing he is a god figure, that despite dead, will return some day.

Their eyesight is sensitive to bright lights, namely sunlight and their hearing is far better than Descendants. Due to their size they do not have great strength, being easily wounded by the likes of Descendants but are able to perform feats of great acrobatic skill

If this construct or creature has some form of aesthetic choice, can you describe how they look?

Oats has a Hereford coat, giving her a white face, with the rest of her coat being an ashen-brown colour, she'd stand at 2'3 tall with a tail just a tad shorter than her height.  Being in her youth her exposed skin spots still are pink, as well as having black eyes in her sockets. Her outfit is styled after a 'Ranger', using tattered cloth to make up her outfit, having a small hood along with a piece of string for a belt, nothing to fancy due to the recycled nature of the outfit.

  17. Valrua sat in her house in this said Ghost Town, in a strange dream, where some person was pressing at a glowing board while wearing alien ear muffs, typing into a colored mirror. The tolling Bells did not wake her, but she did eventually awaken from this strange dream and looked over the missive, a furrowing of her brows as the 'Aheral woman becomes conflicted at the state of events, remembering not long ago how they both rallied together to put Orcs to a sword, she takes a seat and lazily swings her feet onto the table as she'd ponder "We'll see what happens, I'm curious why Haelun'or teamed up with Elvenesse folk." She'd then toss the missive aside into a stack of other papers as she'd come to a stand, deciding to go for a walk.

  18. Valrua overlooks the missive, rolling her eyes and remarking to herself in a tavern "So your complaint is that Sutica didn't go to you in regard to the actions committed by 'one individual' despite going after 'a criminal' outside Elvenesse. Not to mention perhaps you could have gone to Sutica in 'diplomatic avenues' in regard to this Markir fellow. Suppose do as I say not as I do."
