“Afraid you won't win an actual battle?” Joseph writes a simple letter to the duchess. It smells of indescribable substances.

The Duchess scribbles a letter and sends it off as quickly as possible,

“After eight large field battles and countless small bouts of violence, with the A.I.S. winning all of them if you’ve forgotten, I fear nothing. And, in the rarest instances that I feel butterflies within my stomach, I say a prayer and make an offering using the teeth I collected from the curb where your Emperor’s skull was stomped by my husband’s boot.

    Good eve and Good luck,
    Eleanor Helena”

The First Feast of the Food Initiative

Issued Winter of 1740 by Eleanor I

In compliance with the Morsgradic Food Initiative of 1739, the DUCHESS ELEANOR I, alongside the MINISTRY OF TRADE and the COUNCIL, is happy to invite the citizens of Morsgrad to the First Official Feast of the Morsgradic Food Initiative.

Here, the citizens of Morsgrad join the Duchess and her Council in refreshment and prayer for the brothers and sisters in arms of the Martyrs. Those in attendance will then receive their promised rations, and a gift from the Duchess and her daughter, the High Lady of Montburgh.

The Ducal Throne personally thanks the efforts of the men and women of the Morsgradic Labor Union, and our Allies, the Rubernites for their trade caravan. Without such help, the Initiative wouldn’t be as impressively successful!

    [Thursday, November 7th @ 6PM EST - Feast Grounds]

May change — Keep a heads up in the Discord!

  3. Upon the Martyr’s return to Morsgrad, Eleanor searches for her cousins of Vilac, offering them both long hugs and many thanks for their efforts. She then begins planning for a feast to celebrate the three consecutive victories.

  4. The Duchess accepts the gift of a captured boar from a citizen of the Realm, promptly slaughtering it herself. She then uses the fresh kill to make an offering, praying for the safety of her family, and a swift end to those that oppose the Ducal Throne.

Eleanor's Old Mother sends a letter to the young Duchess, the woman's eyes glazed with age yet her smile ever pulled to a taut line of amusement.

“Before I met your father, the Privy had recently decided away with the Emperor Antonious to pave way another of Pertinax. Certainly, you can deal with his son, who has forgotten that he fights with the forces that Marna did when the war of the Two Emperors Occured.”  The old woman had written in her sealed letter, “And we certainly recall how that war ended.”

A letter is soon returned to the aging Horen, sealed with the red wax of Edvardsson.

”I have tried so hard to take after you, Mama. I have studied all your works, all your letters. But now it is time to set down the pen and turn to other strategies.” The Duchess writes, ”He never even sat down with me for tea before insulting my husband.”

    Edlyn’s Request

Issued Winter of 1740 by Eleanor I

It is with great concern I find myself addressing the esteemed citizens of Montburgh. Today, my daughter Edlyn and I come to you, our people, with a cry for help.

[!] Below is Edlyn’s handwriting, in crayon, on each and every missive pinned around the city. [!]

My daughter’s dearest companion, Noodle, has either gone missing or has been taken from her sweet hands. It is of the utmost importance that her pet is found speedily, as she grows more upset by the hour.

Noodle is a relatively young ragdoll breed, with striking blue eyes and a white coat with grey accents on his paws, ears, and nose. He is kind-natured, and will respond should his name be called. I am offering a reward of 20 Nordish Marks and One Tax-Free Year to whoever returns dear Noodle to my daughter’s arms.

  7. A tanned elfess who often still wanders the streets of the Fennic city sang along softly, snickering to herself between sentences. “Una mattina, mi sono svegliato, oh bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao, ciao, ciao!”

((Wasn’t gonna comment, but this is quite literally my favorite song))

The Duke opens the floor for discussion on the recent interactions between himself and the Emperor, and between the Duchy as a whole and the Allied Nations of the Holy Orenian Empire. He mentions the countdown to the reaffirmations of the alliance and presents their options; To sign, or not to sign.

The Patrician of Alstreim questions if the                                         will                             with th                 , and it is mentioned that the other signatories of the AIS have had                                                                                                               .

The floor is here opened for the opinions of the Chieftains and Patricians:

The Patrician of Alstreim: “It would be a statement if                                                 . But if they persist in it -                             they could be

The Duke: “Indeed, but I am tired of our people being pulled into                 Wars. First, the                   then this nonsense with the              the             conflict as well.”

The Representative of Faretto: “There’s bad blood between us and the                   no doubt, but                                 more                                              .”

The Duke: “Perhaps a                          then. I’ve not forgotten the              threatening to                  but                                                              .”

No vote, but a discussion held.

The Duke then turns topics to speak on the state of the Kingdom of Curonia, and his                                                     made the journey                                                                                                                    . He notes, after recalling the story, that anything of such would be

The Patrician of Lyall calls out in protest,

The Duke reaffirms their certainty and sincerity,                                                                                “Either way, I will not be

The Patricians of Lyall and Faretto both verbally agree.

“Do the Estates present agree on the Duke’s decision to currently

    Unanimously Passed.

The Duchess then rises to make an announcement:

“Due to the lack of anyone else nominating and the urgency that comes alongside filling a position and an empty seat on the Estates, Astrid Willow has ascended to the position of Alderwoman of Montburgh. Please congratulate her and wish her luck and prosperity during her four-year tenure.”

Those present at the Assembly of the Estates congratulate the new Alderwoman as instructed, and settle once more to continue.

The Minister of Trade, Evindal, questions the Duke on space for additional shops and areas for the newest of merchants. He is informed that a secondary square with stalls and open shops may be constructed, and that alternative plans are currently in work. The Minister of Trade seems satisfied with the answer given.

As the Duke opens his mouth to close the session, visitors from the Principality of Rubern peacefully enter the Assembly Hall.

Brutus of the Ruberni introduces himself to the Estates, and begins a discussion on trade and commerce between Morsgrad and his own realm, offering a number of goods rare in Morsgradic lands for the products which come naturally to the Duchy. Situated in Atlas’ frozen mountains of Northmarch, supplies of metals such as iron are plenty, and can easily be exchanged for grains originating in the agriculturally productive lowlands. In addition, horses of the plains are necessary to equip the cavalry, and fine cattle products are to be exchanged for gold - despite our need for it.

The Ruberni then departs to organize his caravans, mentioning several other items he’d like to discuss trade rates for and decides he will be back to officiate the deal another day.

The floor was then opened to the Duke and the Estates to raise any additional ideas and concerns, but none were presented at that moment.

The Duke closes the summer session of the Estates in the Year 1739
