  1. Extra soulstone slots should simply be made more available. More to obtain from voting, and perhaps adding some to the store for crowns if people really wanted them. The thing I hated about greater soulstones is that they are able to be taken or dropped, and with mina being as difficult to get as it is, there's a huge risk of losing it from pvp or even accidental death. If greater soulstones were brought back then they should just serve as an upgraded SS without the ability to be lost, locked to the persona slot.

  2. This ain't it. You expect techlock to be changed for flammables simply because you failed to /modreq in the face of metagaming? Omegalol.

If molotovs were to be removed from techlock then you might as well kiss every other flammable material goodbye. Oil, alcohol, etc. It just wouldn't make sense. The number of possibilities for other things that could be created would be rendered null; such as torches or oil lanterns to name a few.

  4. A reclusive elf sat in his small dim lit chamber reading the missive with heavy eyes. “Another brainless conflict, when will it end?” he sighed out in an almost tired manner, crumpling the missive in his hand and tossing it carelessly aside to the floor.

  5. Upon receiving news of his wife's killing, Fyodor slumped back into his chair, setting the missive down upon the end table beside himself. He pressed a hand to his forehead, letting out a saddened sigh. After a long night of grief and without rest, Fyodor began to send out letters to his family, preparing for the funeral. "My dearest wife, taken from me too soon."

Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

Atronachs are sentient constructs of voidal creation born of the art known as atronach forging. They typically appear as hulking magical masses of a voidal evocation element vaguely resembling a humanoid or animal-like figure. Every atronach possesses a core, serving as atronach’s heart or battery, which is a saturated mana gem imbued with the desired element that it will be constructed of. For example, a fire atronach’s core will hold a fire evocation enchant. These cores do not last forever though, and will require a periodic recharge from their assigned mana obelisk. Around the atronach core are descendent made plates designed for the much needed protection of the core, and around the core is the conjured element of said atronach’s origin. Much like golems, atronachs are bound entirely to their creator’s will and possess the ability to think and learn, causing them to continue developing in mind so long as they are powered. As a result of being capable of psychological development, atronachs will often seek to mimic descendant emotion and morals – though ultimately neither of said behaviors will ever be truly authentic. While being rather bulky in size, atronachs are objectively weaker than golems and are more susceptible to destruction. They can easily be defeated through sheer numbers or by being targeted in the right areas of their frame.

If this construct or creature has some form of aesthetic choice, can you describe how they look?

    Gwent_cardart_neutral_frenzied_dao.jpgmaxresdefault.jpg

In shape and general appearance, the atronach would resemble a combination of these images. Upon its shoulders and downwards along its arms and back, obsidian crystals would jutt outwards in sharp clusters. The head would almost resemble a helm with a horizontal slit moving through the center of its face like a visor, pulsating with a fiery pale blue aura. The atronach will stand at about 7.5 feet tall.

             Yes

Probably unfair to use those screenshots from near a year and a half ago when muffins was a regular CT and voicing her concerns. Muffins wasn’t the only one to express concern about Keldrith getting an interview and potentially joining the moderation team. The NL that Keldrith was under expressed immense concern about him joining the mod team and urged us to deny the application due to his odd behavior. Tarrebear who was CT Admin was also in agreement with mod admin + managers that Keldrith should be denied.

Keldrith was given a shot later on he broadcasted in an all staff + nl chat that Paulie who was permanently banned really wasn’t all that bad of a guy and could change by “finding god”. Then when told he was being dumb doubled down by saying that other pedos who have been banned, such as Ski_king and Zer0, could change as well. Literally caused such a **** storm that it caught Telanirs attention and the guy was removed.

Bad example and muffins concerns were justified a year and a half ago from what i recall of the situation.

I understand where you’re coming from. Most of what you just said here, I wasn’t even initially aware of. However I don’t think it’s unfair, seeing as how she’s visibly rejoicing in the man being denied over something personal rather than the concerns of others. Regardless of whether or not Keldrith displayed some questionable behavior, the screenshots still reek of unprofessionalism – hence why I opted to post them. I’ll also state that I’m not defending his actions that you listed – that’s definitely scuffed.

[These were sent to me by a friend. I don’t remember when.]

I can say that I’ve personally witnessed Muffins, instead of acting professionally as a proper administrator, freeze players needing to be dealt with and instead of dealing with them, flexing her red tag and going on power trips. Witnessed behavior like this combined with all of the things people have told me and the things that people in this thread are opening up about have lead me to form the simple belief and understanding that LotsOfMuffins is not deserving or capable of the role of an LoTC administrator. A close friend of mine had several complaints very similar to some of the abhorrent things listed in this thread regarding Muffins brought to administration, namely Llir, and it all went ignored. It simply baffles me how the only way change on this server can be achieved is through the masses coming out all at once with outrage and reports such as this. It truly goes to show that the administration don’t actually give a **** about the individual. The only reason any change will come out of this (if it even does) isn’t because of Muffin’s poor behavior per se, but because of how her being an admin will make the rest of them look. It’s all just bullshit PR.

Good luck with the report. It’s about time one came out.

As many have already stated, the use of rolling as a ‘default’ is one that will lead to even more adverse circumstances than we already have, arguably more so than the disputed use of PvP. I personally do not believe that this permittance to overturn preparation and roleplay in favor of luck will end well for either end of the spectrum, leaving some subject to endless defeat due to their poor rolling, whilst others are sent spiraling into a deeper hole of poor conflict quality.

Of course, there may be some times when this system may be forcibly applied; in fact, ST use it all the time when handling large-scale events as a means of keeping track of player powergaming. In the instance of player-on-player conflict issues, I see no reason why a mod could not enforce the use of rolling or mechanics should the need call for it, though I also think that if players are encouraged to legitimately roleplay more so than repetitively running a chance-based command, the quality of conflict will much improve to a much greater extent than otherwise.

To embolden my emphasis on conflict preparation, with the new plugins that are coming around next map especially, preliminary measures will be key not only in roleplay conflict, but mechanical conflict as well — allowing for a more concrete base to settle differences. The use of rolling, meanwhile, would likely become the new roleplay-avoidance meta wherein everything is left to pure luck, perhaps even going so far as to authorize leeway for individuals to string together some single, five-word emote which briefly states them decapitating an olog with a broom handle. Either way, this isn't a sustainable system.

Ultimately, quality conflict is something that can only thrive through a cooperative, narrative-driven ideology; this unfortunately being a virtue of roleplay which players can be gravely deprived of at times. Throughout all roleplay, not just LOTC, many players adopt what I shall refer to as the “Quick-to-Conquer” mindset — this being when players seek to take the quickest route to achieve victory or avoid defeat as opposed to endorsing a more story nourishing mentality. Is it the held belief that videogames are platforms meant to be solely won, or that one is merely greater than the others? Who knows. It’s different for each individual.

Because of this - rules or not - I do not think that virtuous conflict on a sever-wide scale will be plausible, if at all possible. Despite this, there are some groups that indeed lead narrative-driven and selfless conflict between each other, which is arguably much more engaging than seeing how quickly you can defeat a towering olog or some ancient sorcerer. Furthermore, I firmly believe that the rules are fully capable of pushing players in the right direction, moving more to enact conflict legitimately as opposed to a more self-serving mindset.

I know I’ve gone a bit off topic at this point, so I’ll end this response here. While are still qualms I hold with other rules, I shall not list them here as they do not stand as primary in the point I am trying to convey, and clamorous repetition may very well do more harm than good. This said, every system has flaws that must be corrected, especially things as rules that only change more and more over time. I do hope that moderation is able to amend this rule and rectify the others mentioned, though even with my scattered criticism, I still applaud moderation for at least getting us some concrete conflict rules after the months and months without. Thank you for hearing my piece on the matter.

this. You perfectly described my feelings on the matter. Well done

  12. I wholeheartedly agree with essentially everything Lhindir and Mojo have stated here. A roll default system trades realism for chance – a random and potentially lazy roll of the dice. This simply shouldn’t be the case. This roll default system only further allows people to avoid rp consequences and potentially come out on top of a situation where they realistically shouldn’t. Even worse, most people on this server that I’ve interacted with generally seem to not prefer a completely roll based CRP system. Having to roll for every single attempted action feels tacky and it gets stale fast, and even quite annoying seeing as how any skill a character might have is negated by the system. As such, any and all character development spent honing said combat skills can now just get tossed out the window. It’s meaningless now.
