I don't really see a point of locking a very deep cultural piece suddenly behind an app. just for the sake of a few flavorful words of how the process is done. But that's just me.

This is why I listed the second option as well as explaining it as the preferable option. The current lore IS something that would logically require the ability to preform Alchemy. The second option replaces that with normal botany while still retaining the process of how Ironwood is made.

Non Alchemists shouldn’t be preforming extractions, identifying Signs and Symbols, and mixing concoctions. That requires the feat, so why does Ironwood have that in its current state?

all in all a not so bad amendment. I don’t think people should do something alchemical without actually learning the actual alchemy. If it’s gonna be common knowledge for alchemy/smithy then leave it as just common for alchemists.

I didn't add this on in my first reply because I missed it but it shouldn't be common knowledge for alchemists as Ironwood is still considered something you must be taught IRPly to craft.

The preferable choice IS to remove Alchemy from its creation entirely, swapping it over to using mundane botany to create the treatment for the Ironwood. I do believe there was a misunderstanding with Option A, which I simply added as the alternative since in the end Alchemy should need the Feat.

It's almost like the lore was originally intended to not involve alchemy at all, but someone decided to arbitrarily make this cultural piece that had been around for years require an alchemical process.

Here's an idea: remove the requirement for alchemy at all. It didn't exist before. Doesn't really need to exist now. If ST want it to require herbs they should just list out the herbs it requires, not an alchemical recipe. People don't need to understand alchemy to know that over centuries of experimentation, this specific set of herbs worked with this effect on this very specific plant.

Beyond that, alchemy was added in the first place because it was being ST signed. Ironwood is no longer ST signed. Therefore, a completely moot point and absolutely unnecessary. It is a cultural, aesthetic material equivalent to iron.

The point of this amendment is to look at the fact that it requires an alchemical process but also says you don’t need alchemy which makes no sense. Point A is one fix for this but I do state that the second option is preferable since it uses mundane botany for the same effect.

I don't have any clever comments to add, other than we need to stop locking stuff behind app after app, after app unless it's really OP.

I understand the issue with symbols, though that has been answered already. Perhaps the more sensible alternative is "Hey, this is just wood as strong as iron, remove the symbol requirement."

Option B amends the issue with symbols while still keeping the idea that you need some sort of treatment to make wood resistant to rot and fire.

Have you thought of Jailor moss?

Jailor’s Moss is literally in the ingredient list I added I do not understand what you are asking.

  4. Current Lore and Redline:

The ironwood appliance is soaked in a special chemical mixture which both prevents natural rot and makes the wood resistant to fire. It must soak in the substance for a week before it can be removed. At this point, the ironwood tool is completely done and free to use.

    • Ikurnamon does not require an Alchemy FA to create, nor does its chemical mixture.

    • The Chemical mixture consists of - [1] Earth Sign, [1] Air Sign, [4] Vigor Symbols, [2] Endurance Symbols, [2] Balance Symbols and [3] Agility Symbols.

Proposed Change: Change the Alchemy to Mundane Botany

The ironwood appliance is soaked in a special oil which both prevents natural rot and makes the wood resistant to fire. It must soak in the substance for a week before it can be removed. At this point, the ironwood tool is completely done and free to use.

    • The oil consists of Lard, [1] Chimelilly, [1] Alabaster Leaf, [2] Blood Lotus, [1] Aqua Nymph, [1] Elf’s Hair Vine, and [1] Jailor’s Moss.

      • These herbs are placeholder just as an idea behind a recipe that's botanical while somewhat matching he original cost of reagents for the mixture.

Purpose: It is absolutely nonsensical  to allow people to preform alchemic processes without the alchemy feat. It is best for lore to change so it removes Alchemy. The idea of still having to make a treatment bath for the material is good, but it should be done with a basic oil made with proper ingredients through botany, similar to how anyone can make a tippen’s salve with proper knowledge.

    Changelog:

removed the original Option A to make the material require alchemy if LT preferred alchemy be involved in the creation of the wood. It seemed to be focused over the Botany Option.

  7. They don’t since prosthetics like Animii loose overclock abilities because “prosthetics shouldnt make it favorable to loose a limb” but telekinetic arms are an all around buff
+ Translo’s buff where you can teleport and attack in the same emote

Or I’m completely wrong, idk I’ve never had an rp reason to get into voidal magic

  8. Out of all of the sudden kani amendments that have been dropped lately, this one seems like it's the best as it pretty much is just a clarification that further details what someone can or can not use and eliminates those tiny loopholes.

+1 for making kani more standalone instead of it apparently just being used as a 1 slot MA buff to another magic like scion or something.

What wowj said here, if kani can all the sudden carry stuff that’s like an EMP to their abilities then any mage, spellsword with enchantments, etc should be able to carry a thannic weapon while still being able to cast.

As for mina as it’s own thing, either have a redline for mina only to avoid loopholes or rp being poor

    LATE POST:

The Mina market absolutely needs to hinge itself upon the voting system. It provides LOTC with advertisement, no matter how small, and it is a consistent money source for new players / new personas. The more you vote the greater the reward, especially with regards to the secondary reward offers such as Soulstone Slots, Renames, ETC. As has been seen in the past, it doesn't matter how much voting provides - the market will scale based on the amount you earn per day.

The problem with Mina is that, towards end map, it becomes so inflated that it becomes worthless. Further, the only reason one would need to farm Mina is to pay for pastes, tiles, bankers and other settlement related needs. The lone player has no use for Mina because it has no value to the individual merchant! Including more systems to acquire Mina will only cause it to inflate more, given that the current mina sinks benefit only governments rather than players.

What LOTC really needs is a varied Mina Sink that can appeal to different types of players. IMO the best way to get rid of the influx of Mina is to offer rare materials and items in exchange for large sum of mina. Not only would this delete the excess Mina to stall inflation, but it would also directly tie Mina's worth to usable, lore-backed items. Further, this would enable more players to interact with the market because, as of current, those with valuable items want trades rather than Mina. By having a server-backed means of acquiring high demand resources, players can exchange mina for these goods, which can then either be traded or used directly. This would also provide a degree of player safety from being scammed and could even replace the terrible node system that we currently have (IK you bandits want conflict). Given that Mina inflation would be curbed, the rate of producing these rare items would be low given that 5k or so would be need to be spent with each purchase.

The idea of being able to get small bits of some materials like ST minerals (if that’s what you mean) would also help with the idea of people being able to camp nodes to hell n’ back again so its incredibly hard for players that arn’t in certain groups to obtain them.

Simply just make it so the ST node turnout is more rewarding while having a more drawn out system to use minas to obtain pieces or something similar sounds quite interesting.

    +1 Islamadon big brain

  11. At LEAST bring back something like the vortex bears and boars. Some simple PVE thing players can do at any given time for a little reward that you can exchange for minas at shop locations.

Don’t even make the trade in shop a CT thing, something like fur trading posts randomly placed around here or there with an NPC where you sell the items would be nice.
    - Yes, it is a roleplay server but communities can easily add roleplay to PVE, and people have liked PVE events anyway

    - Another upside is it gives people yet more reasons to get out in the world and explore besides holing up in a nation which will be nice when activity checks cease to exist how they do now.

Also on the “hunting” node idea, make nodes where cows, sheep, and chickens spawn more often or just animals in general for the materials that they drop.

You could also add in the ability to trade in resources like wood for minas at locations like a “trading post” idea

    - I don’t see an issue in a small grinding aspect like what we already have for materials for PVP gear or building blocks. And when it comes to mina it’d be nice to have the ability to sell some of those materials just because you can

On the Auction House that’s both hated and loved depending on who you ask:

    - Nations should run their own rp auctions instead of an auction house. Want to sell your beloved money making green tag item? Black market rp or something

    Creator's RP Name:

             Man-Ender

Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

Sorvians are constructs made of a clay and wood husk in which a sculptor inscribes nonsense characters on the back of a porcelain mask with blood, imbuing it with an amount of soul essence. The mask is placed onto the husk, awakening the Sorvian.

The body of a Sorvian is relatively smooth and without hair. The mask which effectively makes the face of the construct is emotionless, giving an uncanny look to them. Being composed of what is effectively just flesh and bone, cutting through a Sorvians limb would be significantly easier than cleaving through a Descendant. Even so, Sorvians do not have blood and the loss of a limb would do little to the Sorvian except take away its use. They have more precise movements with heightened dexterity, along with the ability to use both arms equally. Their eyesight, hearing, and strength are equal to humans. The construct’s voice will tend to change following the Sorvian’s ventures with ideology and culture of the people surrounding them. Likewise, they tend to clothe themselves in whatever suits the purpose they follow.

The two important parts of the Sorvian consist of the mask itself and its chest cavity. Upon three good strikes to the mask, it would slay the Sorvian. Puncturing the chest cavity would alternatively cause the soul essence to begin to leak out over a period of five emotes. Decapitation would quickly slay the Sorvian after a single emote as well.

If this construct or creature has some form of aesthetic choice, can you describe how they look?

Grave-Digger is a Sorvian dawning a black shroud with slight red coloring on it. Its mask has two holes depicting empty eyes and one for a mouth. Two yellow marks differentiate its face from other Sorvian brethren. It has four total arms, each one half the strength of a human knight. This strange creation would always carry some form of shovel, either hooked onto the chain it wears over its shroud or in one of its four hands.

A wild Thullon Loa’Chil climbs to the highest roof he can find in the city with a sheet of paper shaped like a cone, he then went to loudly announce to the city “I’M GONNA COOK ALL OF THE BEASTIES! 15. This lore amendment seeks to tweak the recipe and redlines of [✓] Alchemy - Aesthetic Pack 1: Fume of Songs.

    The Current Rendition

    Recipe:

    Base: Distilled Water

              Sound x4

              Balance x1

              Grace x1

    Procedure:

    1. Completely dry and grind up the reagents of sound, balance, and grace, and place them in a vessel filled with the distilled water.

    2. While the vessel is left open, the mixture is to be brought to a boil. As soon as such happens, the entire mixture must be bottled.

    3. Add the dried and ground up reagent of travel, and seal the bottle with a cork or other secure method. Slowly heat the bottle, and the entire mixture will become a thick vapor.

    Effect:

When the sealed bottle is opened, the vapor would quickly escape and spread throughout the area. The vapor would carry with it melodious voices and enchanting music, flowing through ears of Descendants with grace. The voices would sound like they came from the mouths of Descendants, and even though it sounded like singing, no words could be understood. Indistinguishable, foreign “instruments” could be heard pleasantly complimenting the voices. The chance of the music being horrendous or chaotic was none, and it would always cause a pleasing encounter. A small vial could be used in a small bedroom to lull an infant to sleep, or giant batches in large vessels could be made to offer entertaining music for a large ballroom party.

    Current Redlines:

    Redlines:

    - Speech is prohibited throughout the duration of the making of this potion.

    - The music is not loud enough to distract anyone.

    - The music effect is purely ambient and aesthetic, and cannot be used for anything else.

    - May not be used in combat whatsoever.

    Proposed Changes

    Recipe:

    •  Base: Distilled Water

    • Mundane | Sound x4

    • Mundane | Balance x1

    • Mundane | Grace x1

    • (Optional) Mundane | Any

The addition of extra optional symbols is so that the alchemist has the option to tweak the specific song the potion will make. It’s up to the alchemist as to what symbols they add and what the effect produces. This just adds to it being an aesthetic choice, with the pre-defined description still retaining any voices or instruments to be of a foreign tongue/instrument.

    Procedure:

The alchemist should not speak while completing the process.

    1. The alchemist will prepare a vessel of distilled water, adding in the counts of Sound, Balance, and Grace.

    2. The mixture should be brought to a boil. Add in any optional Symbols to customize then seal the container

    3. Swirl the water and symbols, allowing them to mix then set aside to cool. While it cools it will slowly turn into a light vapor-like substance.

The procedure on the original rendition seems outdated with the current rendition and at least to me seemed somewhat confusing. This change is simply to simplify and modernize its creation.

    Effect:

The effect should remain the same from the original post; however, if the alchemist chooses to specify the sound the concoction produces the description should be modified detailing it’s sound followed by the fact that any singing/instruments will sound similar however like nothing you’d normally see played.

    New Redlines

    - Speech is prohibited throughout the duration of the making of this potion.

    - The music is not loud enough to distract anyone.

    - The music effect is purely ambient and aesthetic, and cannot be used for anything else.

I elected to remove the redline stating that the potion can not be used in a combat scenario, as there’s no reason for the redline. The potion is purely ambient, but players should still be allowed to use one in any situation if they must, such as adding musical flavor to a bar fight or something.

Overall: The idea behind the Amendment is geared to add aesthetic flavor to RP situations, I just think the potion deserved some tweaks to fit modern alchemy and reagents while also giving the players more freedom when creating and using this potion.

    Creator's RP Name:

             N/A

Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

The Olog is generally the largest and strongest of all of the descendant races. The exact origin is unknown of this group, being debated on all fronts of possibilities from inbreeding to adaptations. Their general skin color matches their Uruk brethren ranging from green, red, blue, or rarely colors like purple appearing. Their natural hair ranges from black to brown with their eyes being around any natural color. They tower over the other races, ranging from 8" to 10" tall and weight 400 to 920 pounds depending on their level of fat and muscle. Ologs in general tend to be around twice as strong as a normal Uruk, and would be able to easily beat just about any normal descendant in a contest of pure strength. Even with this strength, Ologs are still as vulnerably to weaponry as anyone else. A sharp weapon will still lacerate flesh even if the size of their builds make it harder for one to cleanly amputate or cause severe bleeding to occur.

The boons of their size do not come without any loss with Ologs being incredibly slow. Other descendants would be able to pull off physical tasks a lot faster than an Olog.

Ologs, compared to the other descendant races, are sub-par when it comes to being smart. They are sentient and emotional, but they only have a limited ability to properly convey such feelings. Ologs are very "in the moment", choosing to follow a more need-based approach on what they do. Even so, they still can be curious creatures as long as they are not distracted with a primal need such as eating.

Ologs do not learn very slowly if at all. They will not be able to understand a machine more than simple actions of using it. An example would be an Olog seeing someone operating a gate. Even if someone explained how the gate works, they'd just see it as "I pull on rope, gate go up." NOT "When I pull this rope, a pulley system helps raise the gate and a mechanism locks it" etc. etc.

Socially, Ologs tend to rely on others. Their primal mindset leads them to simply follow the person who will take care of their basic needs over any sort of philosophy. Of course, Ologs most likely wouldn't be able to have a very good grasp on philosophy.

If this construct or creature has some form of aesthetic choice, can you describe how they look?

Ma'Ngo Ugluk is a 9'8" tall and 850lbs. He has a build on the fatter side of the Olog spectrum and tends to wear a sombrero to match his fellow clan mate, Zavar Ugluk. He is bald with a more Cadmium Green coloration. Finally, he has a dark brown eye color.
