TRANSPARENCY

Hey guys, Mystery here, and it’s that time of the month to talk about LOTC and events. Whilst the dev trio is working tirelessly to get our server back up for us… here’s a nice little post in order to talk about some of the major problems/developments that are going to be coming from the event sect. 

DIY EVENT EXPANSION - 

One of the big projects that are planned on the backburner of the ET is actually expanding on the  DIY events that had been put forward during ScreamingDingo’s tenure as event sect manager. I’ve been really happy to see the initiative that certain groups have put forward in actually using this format to make unique narratives without requiring ET intervention. One of the biggest problems with our server right now is the people who believe that us ET are the singular critical ingredient in creating sincere character development.. yet people don’t realize the power that player events have.

As such, working in joint with the LT here soon.. We’re gunna be releasing a entire BESTIARY, which lists every creature that players are allowed to play in making their own events! Im very excited to see this event asset come forward.. But i’ll go ahead and leak a sneak peak -

SWEEPING SORROWS - Along with other events that are soon to come out, good ET lad julius55 has been cooking up a VERY fun narrative that’ll be dropping here possibly around January that I expect a large portion of you fellahs will be interested in. Definitely one of the most interesting and well written ET events I've seen thus far.

And must I give a big shoutout to all the other ET whom have been making random encounter/mini one off events throughout the weeks. I’m ecstatic to see the passion coming from the team right now… and this is only the beginning.

To the Office of Elokarir’san,

I write in response to your recent letter regarding the extradition of Sutican resident “Caestella Elibar’acal.” While the letter is long in nature, it failed to provide one single element of a proper request to this government. I shall write the proper information needed to be provided in order for an extradition. I would expect the Silver Council  know this information as you are all highly educated in the art of diplomacy, but perhaps a reminder is in order. I shall therefore be going through each portion of your letter and providing how it is insufficient to warrant an extradition from the Free State of Sutica.

Firstly, the first paragraph of the letter issued to the Free State speaks in vague detail about an agreement between the Silver State and the Free State regarding wanting to rid ourselves of degeneracy. It goes as far to say that the Free State has abandoned its sovereignty by granting the Sillumir full action to act within Sutica in the apprehension of criminals. This is false. As it currently stands, there has been no written agreement between the Free State and the Silver State regarding any essence of allowing Sillumir to enter within our borders. In fact, such an action would violate Title X of the Writ of Sutican Governance where it states, “The State shall not allow the quartering or movement of belligerent troops within its borders during times of War.” Considering the Silver State is a member of the Alliance of Independent States (AIS) and is currently engaged in a state of war with the Holy Orenian Empire, any entrance of your military into our lands would violate our neutrality. Furthermore, there fails to be any written agreement between the Silver State and the Free State regarding any diplomatic action. Any individual should fail to see how there could be an agreement when there lacks any evidence of an agreement. It should then be seen that any extradition, in the absence of a treaty, must occur based on the General Principles of Law between the Free State and the Silver State.

Secondly, there is the issue of Jurisdiction. No evidence was provided in the letter of the Silver State’s necessity to try the individual. This is evidence that the individual should be tried in the Silver State as opposed to being tried here in Sutica. This may be provided in proof that the individual is a citizen of the state or in that the crimes occurred in the Silver State’s borders. The letter fails to provide either.

Thirdly, by merely listing a list of crimes to the Free State, you fail to recognize the laws we in Sutica recognize and the evidence which should be provided to the Free State that there is a reasonable question that these crimes occurred. As for you not to twist my words, the crimes we fail to recognize in the list are Slander and Mix-breeding. Neither of these have been seen within the law code of Sutica. As for the violent crimes, the Free State will request that evidence be provided that there is a reasonable suspicion that a crime occurred. Without a proper extradition treaty, nor a proper Sutican investigation into the mechanics of the Silver State’s judicial system, we cannot reasonably provide the individual on accusations alone. 

If the Silver State wishes to pursue this extradition it shall be recommended that an audit be called as to investigate the validity of the claims. For more information on Sutican Audits see Title V of the Writ of Sutican Government.

There also rests one very important issue, Caestella is barely even within our walls. I personally have never even heard of the woman within our city in literal decades. This probably comes from the fact that Caestella is not as much a Sutican subject as she is married into the elven royalty of Irrinor. I would PERSONALLY suggest.. that if you wish to find any sort of conclusion to your problem with the woman, you work towards speaking to the Irrinites. Not this very roundabout order of trying to get US to deal with her.

I hope this letter aids in clearing up any confusion and I look forward to the good work which can occur in the future. I do look forward to a letter written with the information provided.

Mystery Uialben, Trade Prince of Sutica, has absolute belief and confidence that Jimbo Uialben can munt the f*ck out of any possible competitor, as he is the true powerful lad of Sutica.

I like the idea of labeling Conjurations into their specific Animal Classes, I think that’s a cute touch that does well in the grand scope of things. Gives a bit more of a biological aspect to the whole Conjuration deal, however im also not a big fan of the general direction of where this rewrite is going

- Hybrids removed (Hybrids are possibly one of the most fun aspects of Conjuration)

- Bound Conjurations removed

- Taking Conjuration into a almost fully combat direction

- Not adding anything really /new/, which was one of the main problems with current Conjuration Lore. Life Evocation has a literal IMMENSE amount of opportunity as its creating artificial life from the void. That’s a badass idea to think about

- Nerfing the general spell emotes and stuff, thus making Conjuration an even weaker magic than it ALREADY was

All around I like the formatting and general feel of this post, I just feel like it could use a lot more, and be turned into something more special than basically just a tiny change from the original lore pre-lore games.

It deeply disappoints me that the Silver Council could not come and speak with the Princes of the Trade Federation before making this post, however we realize that you deeply enjoy making pretty posters for emphasis, so we kindly understand. Now, onto the topic in question.

THANIA is a group of braindead mages that are all focused upon that of crime and other such things, one previous member being that of ‘Elnirith’, however... that’s the ONLY member whom has been seen in Sutica in a WHILE. Sutica has had Thania banished from our grounds for a LOOONG time, we do not openly allow their dark-voidal mix of mages within our grounds, and will openly punish them to the fullest of our abilities should they come into our lands expecting to take advantage of that of our poor citizens. This all being said, something very important was left off of the Urguani notice.

With that Blessed Sohaer, I openly would like to request to speak with you in person to discuss that of further details regarding the nitty-gritty details with that of the Urguan issue. I have always appreciated and loved the dwarves with the Underking, the Uialben family always appreciating dwarven culture, however it appears there is something happening behind my back that I believe should fall upon your ears.

Though, to answer that of the post at hand, we understand the dangers of Thania and criminal orginazations, so as such we will be dealing with and bringing those whom are CONFIRMED or SPECULATED Thanian members to Haelun’or if so desired.

The lands below that of Curon continue to quiver. Citizens would be able to hear the screeching of moonspeech below ground grow large by that of the days as it draws closer to what can only assume to be a disasterous climax. 

A figured, cloaked in robes idly looks onto the lands of Curon from high in the skies, idly dangling roughly 150 feet in the air by a floating staff as he watches the happenings. His voice layered as he speaks to himself, “This is all apart of fate. No matter what happens, my ending is secured... However, what will your end be Prothania?”

The being lets out a chuckle, growing a smile despite it lack of ability to feel. “I cannot wait to see. That being said, no matter what happens the Descendants will lose people whom they care about deeply, perhaps an eye opener to the inevitable? Oh well.”

The figure then simply floats offwards, the staff he holds idly bringing him towards his spyre as he sits, and prepares for when it should happen.

“Wait what?” A elf questions as he blinks, looking at the message as he begins to SWEAT

Rollo Applefoot continues on out of Brandybrook. He walks, he goes on for a long, long trail. He passes by the Druidic Grove, he passes by Sutica, he passes by Aegrothond, he walks and walks onwards and farther. He looks at his reflection in the Angel-Aurum shovel he had found almost half a century prior. The shovel seems to glitter, almost laughing at him but he continues to move. He gets in a boat just a bit farther upstream in the Dinkle River, going in the teeny little dinghy as he steps inside the confines of wood and continues begins to drift down the stream. It takes him past Brandybrook one final time, the Thain looking down at his shovel before he continues downwards… drifting off into the sea.

He figures that he should be judged, he has been called a being of pure disgust as well as a beacon of light multiple times prior, and he figures it is time for him to stop kidding himself. As he tries to ponder though, he coughs up. His hand pulls up to his mouth before crimson blood spews out, landing all over his large mitt…

“It’sah gettin’ worse..” is all he can admit, the man looking as he begins to start seeing double. He feels dizzy before then finally he falls onto his back and looks straight up into the sky. It’s a dark dark night out, the stars flicker in the sky as his eyes squint towards each and every constellation.

About a mile out into the ocean, the Thain can almost hear something large moving about under him. His eyes open wide, albeit weakly, as he recognizes the sound of what is below. “Arugulah an’ Knox, may yeh judge meh tah see if oi’m ‘he man I say I was…” he speaks, coughing up another spike of blood as red liquid drips down his cheek. His eyelids begin to feel heavy, and he simply lets his eyes shut.

He hears the being below him continue to get closer, the large squid that all of the weefolk had spoken stories about drawing near… Soft tendrils of fishy flesh begin to wrap around the boat as Rollo lets out one hoarse final set of words “May I meet Daiseh back up in ‘he golden wheat fields o’ Knox.. an’ may she forgive meh..”

The darkness of  eternal slumber creeps up on the Thain… he would never know how he was judged as he drifts off.

On the beaches nearby the Salty Salmon, Rollo’s Thain shovel would wash up onto the shoreline, the Thain never to be seen again….

The Will of Rollo Applefoot

To the halflings of Brandybrook, I am writing this because my days are currently numbered. A sickness has entered my body and I am unable to properly be a beacon of light to lead you all anymore. For the last 5 years I have been mostly gone from the settlement of you all because I have been trying to figure out a way to fix this, but it’s not going to get better. Just like my father, and my grandfather, this is going to slowly eat away at my insides until I am nothing more than a shriveled being of what I once was. I do not wish for you all to witness me going through that transition, so I have decided to go out with the image you’ve all seen me as since my first steps into Dunshire.

Let me say, before I arrived in Dunshire, I was not a completely innocent weefolk like all of you. I spent a large portion of my early life hiding in the woods trying to be someone that I was not, and it lead me down a path of jealousy and greed that I'd find myself plagued with for a large portion of my life. Let me say that my adventurous and rebellious ways all changed because of the community of small halflings that I watched prosper through time. My eyes opened to an actual family, and I soon felt that fluffy feeling within my soul blossom as I worked to try and ensure that my weefolk family stayed perfectly safe throughout time.

Becoming Thain was something that really solidified my want to work for the good of everyone, and helped validate that feeling of being a beacon for the small men of Atlas and Arcas alike… however my time to step down has come and gone. I watched Huckle Honeypot disappear back with the Septemberists, I have watched my children grow old and leave me, I have even watched my sweet Daisy disappear from my life into the wheatfields of Knox, and it is time for me to join her.

Being Thain has given me the ability to be a symbol of hope for halflings all around, being Thain is the ability to sympathize and be a helping hand for the Benardist smallfolk of the realm, being Thain means being an active part of the capital of smallfolk and working to ensure the prosperity of all those around… That is not who Harold Applefoot is. Harold Applefoot’s heart lies within that of the druids. That is who his family is, and even if he won't admit it, that truth is very evident within his heart. It’s why as my final annoucement before my demise, I revoke Harold Applefoot’s right to Thain and give it to the new leader of Brandybrook, and new symbol of hope for Halflings..

Micah O’Connell

Micah has proved to be a heart for the weefolk, and a guide to you all. Though despite having a self conscious feeling within his heart, he has a soft determination and brave soul alike that I have seen in my younger years. He will lead Brandybrook into a good age I am sure, and as a result he also gains that of my Magical Unification Thain Shovel.

Thain of Brandybrook, Protector of Halflings, Slayer of Manipulative Mages, Creepy Undead, and Ungrateful Bigguns. Leader of Weefolk And Chosen Ruler By Sir Lord Arka-Knox Himself, and Eternal Watcher of Small-Men.

Whilst no one is looking, a figure in the night seemingly manages to make it into the Haelun’or library with ease. No one would have seen any peculiar figure however a cloaked figure manages to make it to the ballot box whilst the city slumbers. The figure uses a simple transfiguration spell, moving and gripping the ballot box before then using a simple bit of transmutation to break his way through. He then pulls out of his pocket, a solid 50 scraps of paper. On all of these papers would be the simple words of “Berr’lin [X]” as if a protest maybe? How strange. Aswell, deep within the box would be a simple white mask, a calling card almost that seems to snicker at those whom open up the box to see the results.

When will the Glowsbane family be the next heavy wave of Arcas players? I want 30+ Glowsbanes
