Born in Sennisten, his father was an engineer in the Renatus military, and his mother was a camp follower, cooking meals for the soldiers. He grew up with a serious and proud father, his typical craft of carpenting causing him to become a valued member of the army, which he joined full-time before Joachim was born. Growing up as a child, Joachim was diligent and well-behaved, disciplined by his father in a stern, yet well-loving manner. Healthy in body and mind, he grew up to become an equally work-focused young adult, who was already spending the majority of his days plying his craft. On his off-time, he would plea to the Canonist monks to teach him to read, which they agreed to doing after some time if he attended the ceremonies and his father made donations, which he agreed to doing, for the sakes of giving his son a better future. Joachim, after some time, learnt to read, and read stories of sea-farers, exploring lost isles and the multiple great migrations the Descendants had to undergo to escape their previous lands, for reasons which are many, but many because of Iblees. This interest in the sea and travel naturally turned his carpentry skills to boatmaking. Unfortunately, Sennisten's closest water-source is a river, unfit for ships. As such, after a long time of deliberation, he moved to Santegia, home to many elite vessels of trade and warfare. Employed under a former shipwright and now boatmaker, Joachim started to learn which types of tree were suitable for the hulls, others for the masts and others for decorations for richer vessels. It took him years to become a competent boatmaker, although he is now, at the age of 42, capable of making medium sized trading vessels with the employment of other boatmakers and a company to provide the resources and mina. Due to this, he has begun to earn himself a fair amount of money, although he is still on the rise, and his work ethic may lead him to other ventures, most likely along the path of woodwork, or perhaps sea-faring of any kind.
