  1. Hello again!

Now, before you lot go crazy with your replies, let me get a few things straight:
    1. Yes, I DID leave LotC, but I have since overturned my decision to leave.
    2. I did not post two farewell posts. One was me saying I was taking a break and the other was a farewell.
    3. LotC is a boiling cauldron of toxicity and hatred towards people that they do not understand yet. So effin’ what?

With that out of the way, let’s get to the point of this post: why I’ve decided to come back to Lord of the Craft. It wasn’t an easy choice to overturn my decision to leave the server and the community I got to enjoy being with, but it hit me. Something that a friend told me about my roleplay character that I felt was appropriate in this situation.

“Even if your [character’s] overwheled with emotions, [his] friends come first.” -A friend.

I’ve made a lot of friends on this server and they don’t need to be plastered over a re-introduction post just to have upvotes on their rep. My friends don’t need any naming, anyhow, because the only thing they need to know is that they are the primary reason why I came back to LotC.

There is also the concern that people think I’m still toxic by leaving then coming back and applying for staff. Let me ask you lot why you people believe that I should be berated because of mistakes that occur off the server? For even matters on twitch streams that have already been dealt with by the GM team?

In fact, why even bother berating me in the first place? It doesn’t make a lot of sense on why you insist on doing these immature acts of trolling and letting it spiral out of control to the point where the Game Mods are involved. Honestly, some of the problems on LotC do stem a lot from people making immature decisions and reacting to said immature decisions in a harsh manner (as I did in my twitch stream. So what?).

Anyhow, -1 me all you want to be honest. The only thing that’s mature on LotC are the staff members on their various teams who try to make a pleasant community to be engaged in as well as promote a positive attitude. I’ll be playing my characters again and if you don’t like it, don’t bother leaving a reply or just ignore me.

Time to get back to work,

Your video doesn’t really show much where Java is concerned. I have no experience programming with Java but it looks as if what you made just uses a simple condition statement.

Edit: Also, when you’re making a video you don’t need to run a stream then use the VOD. I’d suggest picking up something like MagiX or ShotCut (which is free) for video editing.

There’s more content than just the condition statements, but that’s still a WIP tbh.

Will do. just working on the code right now for my engine plugin to do some revisions as its popping up with errors.

  5. OOC: While I may have left LotC, I still have work to do and thus have overturned my decision to leave LotC. This story is based on semi-canon portions, including what happens when one person uses magic not normally taught or found in LotC and will be a magic I’ll write in the future while I also work on my own project. I hope you enjoy “The Power of the Soul” by TheDragonsRoost.

    ~(+)==(+)~

Karren had lived many days within the forest where he gave himself the penance. For many days, he lived off of the land and the wildlife that roamed the forest, surviving off of the steak and pork that he collected from the wildlife. He had a lot of chances to leave the forest and be a part of the world once again, but he refused to leave the forest until he had served his penance through. Karren wanted to make sure that no trace of his former self remained and that it wouldn’t ever resurface. He didn’t have the magical power he wanted, but he had learned that some things are better off being done by one’s own hands than using magic.

This included the irritating and unreasonable lust for magical power. One thing that his Regeneration had failed to get rid of all those years ago.

The sun began to set and Karren, in his ruined clothes, had begun to set a fire near his tent. A small campfire that would become a small beacon to monsters that wished to claim his life. Not that Karren minded, but when he took his penance, he was not aware that monsters roamed the forest at night, willingly stalking their prey before killing them with sharp claws and pointy teeth. Over the years he served his penance, he had a few encounters with such beasts. Karren didn’t have much to his name, but he made do with his surroundings being his weapon.

However, this night would turn out to be his last night serving his penance.

As he watched the campfire blaze to life, Karren felt his soul warm up as if he could feel the emotions that ran so rampant during his Regeneration. He wasn’t sure why his soul began to warm up in this way, but he’d begin to feel his life slowly ebb away as if his own soul began to burn away his lifeforce, the force that sustains a person’s life. Karren began to feel his body slowly deconstruct itself with an amber glow, which made him scream in pain into the night. This kind of power he felt once before, when he held the Totem of Undying in his hands.

It swallowed up his body whole and he became an Ethereal Light for a short time as he felt this strange power flow through him. While he was an Ethereal Light, he felt a strange, yet powerful force drawing him towards Cloud Temple. He knew he wasn’t dead, but this was something that couldn’t be overpowered. Karren followed this strange feeling towards Cloud Temple and once he arrived at Cloud Temple, he felt this power begin to fade and his body beginning to take form once more.

He appeared as he did prior to his penance being served, but with some changes. He no longer felt the need for magic and he seemed to grow a bit. He also didn’t see the point in fighting or supporting the September Prince as he felt his mind begin to rewrite itself, almost as if it was reenergized beyond mortal standards. Karren also had begun to go through a massive wardrobe change as well, no longer wearing his green robes and normal clothing, but wearing something entirely different.

    Spoiler

    Karren’s new robes:
    Seasinger's_robes_equipped.png

“Well, this is certainly new...” Karren commented as he’d see his new clothes, completely unsure of what to make of them. Either way, he walked down the steps of Cloud Temple with the new wardrobe change and begin his adventures anew...

    ~(+)==(+)~

OOC: As I said before, this magic will be a Magic Lore Submission (presumably Deity or Dark Magic, though I’m leaning towards a different style of magic) and I’m thinking that Karren might like his new wardrobe. Anyways, I’ll be coming back to LotC within the next few months and I thought I’d get this started. Will be getting the skin for this made soon!

Anyways, see you all in Atlas!

  6. Yeah, there’s nothing really much to say.

I’m saying my final farewell from Lord of the Craft. No joke, I’m officially quitting LotC and PK’ing all of my characters on TheDragonsRoost and my alt account. After I stepped back, I realized that my style of writing and my style of roleplay didn’t fit LotC, which made a lot of people toxic towards me. I hold no grudges against everyone here and I’ve found something I enjoy.

To my friends and people I’ve met on LotC, I’ll still be available to talk to over Discord, but I’ll be leaving the LotC discords that I’ve joined as I’ll be redirecting my focus towards my own projects.

    Time to Create.
    Time for Creation.
It’s Time of Creation and the forging of new worlds.

    Thanks for everything!

  7. Again as I’ve said in my original post, I’m taking a break with an undetermined amount of time. It doesn’t mean in any way that I’m saying my final goodbyes to this server, but this is what I’ve resorted to do in order to not feel restricted to having to come back to LotC and roleplay as Karren, Sorelis, or Marcus just to further along the overall story.

I will be working on my other projects that I’ve neglected as well as working on irl stuff like school, relationships, and other things in the meantime until I feel like I’m ready to come back to LotC.

  8. No fancy words. No bigotry. No toxicity or anything remotely stupid.

Just me to talk about something I’m feeling about right now.

    ~(+)==(+)~

I’m taking a break from Lord of the Craft. Not because of the people I’ve encountered or the things that occurred to me over the past several days, but it’s for my own health. For those of you unaware, I came to LotC looking for an outlet for my creativity to flourish and replenish myself from writing my books. I wanted to play these characters that I’d make up because I thought that they’d help me feel better about myself and provide interesting roleplay for all those who’ve met them. I wanted to explore the boundaries of these make-believe characters in this fictional world of Lord of the Craft to see what the limits of my creativity were and to possibly even push beyond those boundaries to drive my characters to their absolute breaking point.

Turns out that in trying to figure out my own limits, people didn’t understand what I was really doing, thinking I was powergaming or even metagaming at these instances. Truth be told, I was excited to be a part of this community for the three months I’ve been here, but I get this feeling of needing to let go of something before it destroys me inside. A feeling of intense wonder and longing to see the world beyond what lay in front of me on a computer screen.

I’m nineteen years old and I’m a writer for Young Adult fiction, trying to forge new worlds and create stories that can entertain people and even inspire new ideas to be made within the inventive human mind. I’m also in high school, trying to make ends meet with a family that has little support to offer during the month between paydays. Not to mention I have real life to live than just roleplaying as a High Elf whose gone absolutely mad with lusting for power of the magical kind, a Dark Elf whose only goal is to please his father and even gain his admiration, and as a Highlander whose been psychologically scarred by a traumatic scene in his youth and have trouble expressing his true emotions. These characters represent something about me that I’ve had to deal with in real life and they all stem from the same origins.

    My depression.

Karren is the embodiment of my will to fight the darkness of depression and yet never be able to overpower it, Sorelis Daevear is the embodiment of my inability to think about myself and only think about others, and Marcus Reyn is the embodiment of my crippling sense of self and low self-esteem. Character creation, at least in my own opinion, is forging a character who represents an aspect of your emotional state of mind to the point where they change drastically from what you originally created them out of and character growth/development is what you (the roleplayer) have given your character(s) in the opposite side whether it be a sense of honor or the ability to sacrifice themselves in the name of friendship against an enemy to help motivate those characters you save to rise up against the foe to vanquish them.

But I’m getting off topic here, so let’s get back on track. My depression has worsened over my time on LotC to the point where I feel that feeling of needing to go and be free. Of course, this isn’t truly a goodbye as I’ll be back one day, just not anytime soon. People can hate me or love me, but that is what they have towards me and I’ve known for a long time that you cannot please everyone even if you tried. Call me toxic however you like, but there’s one thing that is undeniable about me. I’m creative, a planner, and someone who knows himself enough to understand what his heart tells him to do.

So, I’ll leave you with this. I’m not saying my final farewells, but merely saying that I need to leave LotC for a time to recooperate mentally from the roleplay and the community that drives it forward. I’ll still happily talk to my friends I’ve made here, but when I come back, I expect to be more mature than when I left.

Thank you guys and I’ll see you guys later.

  9. Everything burns.

Marcus had that dream again. The dream of fire.

    Everything changes.

Marcus Reyn, the eldest son and the last living son of the clan Reyn, had seen his parents and younger siblings burn in a village towards the southern portion of the continent, towards the ice plains. Only he survived the devastating fire, but he did not leave the village unscathed. He heard his parents screaming in pain as well as his younger siblings, forever scarring the poor boy’s mind from their screams that echoed into his deepest nightmares.

    Everything is forged in fire.

Marcus got up and off his bed, which was nothing more that dyed rugs that he laid down upon the ground. The night turned into a bright sunny day north of the city of Haense where Marcus made camp. It wasn’t a bad day to wake up to, especially since he did not sleep that well last night. It was also a pretty bad day for Marcus’ emotional state as the nightmare only really helped to depress Marcus even more, which he was already depressed to begin with. He doesn’t know how or why, but that fire was something else entirely.

Over the last few years, Marcus had grown into a fine young man that presented himself as a kindhearted traveler, despite his Highlander origins and his crippling depression that he tried so desperately to hide from those he’d meet. However, when he fell asleep, that depression would take shape as a nightmare of that night when the fire killed his parents and younger siblings, orphaning him to the wide world at the young age of six.

Though he knew how to wield a blade, read, write, and other such things, his depression made things complicated. He’d be vulnerable to acts of heroism and fits of rage while also being left unable to tolerate those who speak falsehoods against his beliefs.

Everything begins with a simple wish.

Marcus simply opened his hazel colored eyes and stared towards the skies, breathing in and out and ready to begin his day....

This was by far the worst response you could have made, and you definitely didn’t make me even think for a second that you’re not huffing on your own fumes. Posts like that are literally just an outlet for you to scream to the world how proud you are of your character. What was so necessary about this post? Why is it even here... its not a PK, its not about anything important, Its just you going “yeah ik that this isn’t canon lore, but I’m gonna pretend it is because I want attention.”

This post makes VERY little references to lore, except buzz words like “Mali’ker”. In fact there’s no reason for your little god to be saying “Mali’ker”. They aren’t elven, and it isn’t as if that’s a scientific or proper name for the Dark Elven race as a whole. Its just sprinkling in elven just for the sake of having it there, just to show that you know what it means. Oh and for the love of god, no Karren’s soul WOULDN’T go to “oblivion” it would go to the Soul Stream, OR if his soul is altered in any way that Aeriel deems unworthy then he’s cast out to the Ebraetus to suffer.

I like how you call Karren your most toxic character. Because its just you quickly reaching for an excuse for your behavior OOCly. I’ve had a few encounters with you, all of them being unpleasant to say the least. Literally begging for magic OOCly, and going out of your way to ignore things that were relevant out of character. Afterwards you got salty and took it to PMs in game to complain and whine about how unfair it was, when it’s just roleplay. There’s no disconnect when you say that Karen was a toxic character, because you are quite toxic yourself. I’m going to mention this because its relevent and proves my point, so hopefully you don’t get too hurt over it, but your livestream is something to look at in regards to how you act. I get that you were being made a fool of, but still it doesn’t excuse the horrid way you acted when that stream was representing lotc.

When I had mentioned your characters interacting with each other, it doesn’t just mean face to face. That’s like me saying “oh if my mage casted a shield on my other druid character they don’t talk to each other so its ok.” Its still your characters interacting.

One last side note, I hope you do realize that once your lore is approved (if it even is) it won’t be YOURS anymore, it’ll belong to LotC. You’ll have no say over what happens to it, and down the line it’ll be able to be rewritten. You won’t be able to play your god that you’ve created, that’ll be under LT if he even does need to interact with anything on the server. I feel like you’re the kind of person that would flip their **** over the above.

As it seems like this whole discussion is about something incredibly stupid that involves my writing style and my characters, let me remind you that this is a creative writing story and if you don’t think it’s canon, then think away. I’m not stopping you from thinking otherwise on this matter, but for right now, all you seem to offer is deconstructive in nature and demoralizes me in a bigger negative image.
Simply put, if you don’t like what I write then don’t click on my posts. Block me or ignore me, I honestly do not care. I’m tired of people trying to demoralize someone whose been on LotC for ~3 months (much shorter than most of the playerbase) and still takes his time to learn the full scope of the lore in his own eyes. Asking for magic OOC’ly has been done again and again to the point where I’ve accepted the fact that magic has to come naturally than rather forced. Not to mention that I’ve understood how this community works to the extent of my experience on this server.
So please, don’t patronize yourself into thinking your better than me just because you’re annoyed. Not everyone is perfect (as was evident in my stream) and believe me, everyone on the server has their own opinions and in my honest opinion, don’t comment on my posts if you dislike me and/or think I’m toxic. It’s both immature and stagnant to keep calling someone toxic.

    Thank you,

    -TheDragonsRoost

to be fair, it does literally say in the rules that you can’t reverse a suicide pk and you did regardless, even if you were told that it was fine,,, you still did violate the rules.

Dude, again, it was settled with an admin. No need to bring it up as it was brought up with Knox and he specifically told me that it was fine. I even gave him the links to the forum stories and he still said it was okay.

But dw, I got plans in store for Karren once I decide he’s worthy to be unshelved.

-Rep I wouldn’t want TheDragonsRoost to make lore for this server. Now I know nothing about making lore, but TheDragonsRoost does not follow server rules. His persona(Karren Mrysta) was pked now I know in a week(7 days) you can reverse it, but his persona committed suicide. If I recall LOTC rules state that you can NOT bring back a persona that committed suicide.

§3.13     If you permanently kill your character, you have 7 days to reverse your decision.

    ○      Unless by suicide or a lore enforced PK clause. See next rule for clarification.

§3.14     Death by suicide is non-reversible, unless specific lore states otherwise.

    ○      This includes suicidal intentions. Accidental suicide does not count; for example unknowingly drinking a toxin

Later that day he reversed it.

    image.thumb.png.bdc9083aca83c74d5a73102510a91615.png

This was stated by Knox (prior to his depature from admin) that I broke no rules in this situation and I also talked to Toxcat on this matter as well. They said at the time that I can reverse the pk due to Stasis Lock being a “cliffhanger” and so, there were no rules that said I could not reverse the pk due to this.

EDIT: You forgot to mention that “Breaking the Stasis” story as well. Very convenient to try and do a -1 rep on a deity lore submission....

And this is also a deity lore submission. Please do not bring up persona pk events when they have already been settled with by admins and other staff members. Thank you.

    this makes me uncomfortable

    especially the highlighted

I have a few questions though (I have only read a few of your previous things and it wasnt in depth reading):

how will he be living in a forest, through cold nights, if he doesnt have a campfire... as you said he wouldnt ‘for a long time’ unless thats like a few hours while he sleeps?

You say this is a canon story. Does Mr Mrysta have any knowledge of Zarelek’s existance? How is that possible if Zarelek may not be real (if the lore isnt accepted)?

Why did Zarelek help Karren, if he did? Again, if Zarelek helped Karren... how would that work if Zarelek isnt real (^)?

    1. The forest isn’t always cold. Zarelek’s power doesn’t influence Time at all, so he’d be able to feel the sunrise and the sunlight on his face. Besides, he’d be able to gather wood for another campfire and cook food he will collect from the wildlife. Sorry if that wasn’t clear.
    2. No knowledge whatsoever of his existence. Only Zarelek is aware of Karren and he’s been able to keep his presence untraceable. As to how its possible if he isn’t existing yet, the Realm of Oblivion also works as a standalone Realm that doesn’t fully interact with the natural world.
    3. He didn’t help Karren, actually. The deal didn’t cement through all the way and therefore, Zarelek had time to reverse his decisions. He did so in this story upon realizing that Karren was a powerhungry man that was still a child.
As to how it’d work if he wasn’t real, he couldn’t manipulate his life in any other form that dreams. Once the deity was accepted along with Oblivion Magic, Karren could’ve gotten the magic, but alas, he’d be pk’ed once he attempted to regenerate due to his constant whining for magic.

I’ve read your posts, and I think you have a routine of writing things based on everyone having an ultimate goal of achieving this “great power.” I respectfully disagree, and feel characters, like yours, can be more fleshed out. This is better than your other posts I think, because it more details the mental burdens your character is having, rather than being the “epic” character shooting for power, though I still think it can be improved. It comes down to why I believe Marvel is better than DC. While DC has aspects I like, I feel Marvel takes the cake because the stories aren’t always solely based on some legendary battle or artifact of power, rather the struggles the characters have as heroes. I loathe characters like Superman because they’re boring and smash heavy, and I much prefer characters like John Constantine, Punisher, or Spiderman, who all have an internal struggle as characters beyond their hero identities. In LotC, the best way to understand this is looking at the magic and supernatural elements as the setting, and an aspect of the game, rather than the plot. The plot should be what your character is going through psychologically, physically, etc, rather than grabbing for power. Having a character instantly jump to t5 magic is just boring. A lot of the enjoyment of magic in LotC is progressing in it slowly, and developing your character as you do so.

I wasn’t going to respond in any criticizing way to your posts, but I was a complete edge lord once, and while I like your enthusiasm to write, I feel like I can help out. I have sympathy for you, and I feel like people are giving you too much ****, instead of trying to help a newer player nourish. I want to teach you what I’ve learned in writing and storytelling with my time here. My discord is LeoRabbit99#2143, and feel free to message me. If you don’t want to, don’t feel obligated, but I wanna help out if I can. In the end, if you’re having a good time, stick with what you’re doing. It’s only a game, after all.

    @TheDragonsRoost

I will definitely add you on discord once I get home. I think you'd be helpful to me a lot instead of hating on me.

Jesus Christ are you huffing on your own fumes? I swear every time you post on the forums I feel like your ego for yourself gets larger and larger. The problem with this is that you’re turning into one of those people that will go ahead and write your own character straight into the lore which only shows how you think they have some kind of grand importance (which they don’t).

At this point your proposed magic IS to make your character more powerful and you keep showing it, you do realize that putting “this isn’t a magic to make my character more powerful” and them IMMEDIATELY writing in a short story about your character knowing of the existence of and being helped by a deity that YOU created. A deity that is still up in the air on whether it’ll be accepted. I’d even wager it probably won’t be accepted for a while due to the fact that the LT are more focused on required rewrites than something new when we already have a lore bloat. That’s besides the point though, I also find it rather concerning that you’re having two characters you created INTERACT. Something that the server is against (and even against the rules.)

I want for you to improve in your writing and RP. The path you’re going down now is honestly one thats gonna burn you out quickly. You’re roleplaying and writing for your characters, like I said earlier, like they have a grand purpose, and like they’re a protagonist of a video game or movie. While this can be said about any character on lotc it seems that you directly go out of your way to try and keep your characters in this imaginary spotlight that you put on yourself. When I say put it on yourself, I mean you literally write a post about your character being aided by some deity that YOU created. I think that you need to continue to tell yourself that no matter how many lore posts or just “chapters” in you make that your character will always be on an equal level with some random Joe Smoe in Haense. They won’t be a protagonist with some GRAND AND EXTRAVAGANT purpose. Because this isn’t a movie featuring your character as the hero. This is a roleplay server.

    1. Karren really isn’t that important. The roleplay I do as him is literally the most toxic I’ve seen out of my whole roleplaying career and I have ways to change it or even end it. I’m just shelving him for now.
    2. I’ve never stated either indirectly or directly that Karren knew of Zarelek’s presence. I’d also like to point out that Karren and Zarelek never met person-to-person. Even during the Regeneration, Karren did not recall ever seeing or meeting Zarelek though Zarelek recalled seeing Karren’s soul within the Realm of Oblivion, which is where he would’ve ended up had he not regenerated.
    3. I do my best to write YA Fantasy books with godlike characters dealing with even more powerful godlike characters and having to deal with internal struggles as well. Karren’s story is also (again) the most toxic one I’ve ever done and he’s the only one of my characters that is the most toxic.
  14. OOC: This is a canon story to Karren Mrysta, my main elf character, and his personal journey through the world of Atlas. “Delving into the Dark” is meant to be the end of his second chapter and this marks him being shelved for an undetermined amount of time. Chapter Three will begin once I decide to unshelf the character.

The premise of this story is to tell Karren’s transitioning into madness for magical power that has begun to take over his mind, consuming him to the point where not even the deity Zarelek would grant him the powers of Oblivion. Karren’s inability to accept who he is and forceful change has begun to make him go mad with lust for power, wanting powerful magics in order to stop the September Prince and yet has made him an outcast.

Find out more in “Delving into the Dark” by TheDragonsRoost.

    ~(+)==(+)~

Karren Myrsta felt like everything was crashing down around him. The feelings he thought he was rid of during the Regeneration have come back in full force, tearing him up in his mind to the point that he began to suffer drastic physical changes. He no longer had beautiful wavy silver hair, instead had ragged and unclean silver hair that seemed to carry a great amount of stress. His eyes no longer had their vibrant emerald green color, but yet were prematurely growing dimmer. His clothes became dirty and unclean, making him look like a rugged homeless person than a proper high elf.

In the short and brass terms, he looked like ****.

In the growing dimness of his own campfire within the southern portion of the continent of Atlas, he started to reflect upon his choices that he had made that led him to what he was in the present time. Karren reflected upon his choices in the Mother Grove, Dominion of Malin, Haelun’or, and many other places to where he felt he had wronged himself and many others in his pursuit of power. He sighed as he stared into his campfire, which grew dimmer every minute that passed.

“It seems that I have done a great many things. Too many things.” He said to himself, leaning over to his bag and pulling out a bundle of papers with a bunch of diagrams and mathematical equations. It seemed to be his research. “All for this. The most useless thing I’ve spent years to complete and I am no further than where I was at four years ago.”

Karren looked over his research as he’d undo the twine that bound the papers together, slowly and carefully. He sighed as he poured over the papers and said simply “I wish I never started this. This has caused me too much heartache and has made me something that I could never be. Arelion was right. I’m not worth being taught magic.”

He did not need more convincing than what he felt. He soon tossed the papers into the fire and watched as the fire grew a tad brighter as it happily consumed the research that Karren had given it. Karren, however, did not feel any better for tossing the papers into the dimming fire. He just stared into the fire as it produced more heat from consuming the papers, warming himself up from the growing coldness of the night. It would also be Karren’s last campfire for a long time as Karren decided to go into his tent and get some sleep.

What Karren did not realize was that this led to him live in that same forest for a long time, hunting and feeding off the natural wildlife for years to come as a sort of self-induced penance for his “crimes” of lusting for power.

    ~(+)==(+)~

Zarelek watched through his Ethyrian Star of what Karren had done and he was outright annoyed. He had wasted that time on that boy just for him to burn his research to ashes, rendering him unable to learn his magic. Within the Realm of Oblivion, Zarelek nearly made his castle rumble with his anger and annoyance towards the high elf, but he caught himself and restrained his anger and annoyance.

“That boy is smarter than I thought, destroying his research.” Zarelek said to himself, his voice echoing throughout the throne room. “But still quite idiotic. This decision has made me decide to best put my efforts elsewhere. Someone that has the same aura, but not wanting power or at least lusting for it like this foolish mortal elf.”

Zarelek sighed as he used his powers to curse the high elf to stay within the forest for a time that he would let him free, punishing him for his lust for power and proving to be unworthy to wield the powers of Oblivion. He did not feel the slightest bit of guilt for keeping the boy locked up within the forest, but he was not truly angry with the boy. Once he casted the spell, he introduced a few clauses into the spell that bound him to the forest, and all of them were pretty simple. He only needed to repent from his ways of lusting for power, serve his penance for proving to be unworthy, and spend his whole penance in isolation from civilization.

He wasn’t sure how long it would take for the boy to serve out his time within isolation, but then again, even he was not all-powerful or all-knowing. He leaned back into his throne, sighing a bit and saying to himself “Now, who in Atlas shall I distribute my efforts towards? The warring humans? The peaceful halflings of Dunshire, perhaps? No,” he’d say to himself, looking at his Ehtyrian Star once more. He had an idea brewing in his mind for a particular person he saw once.

While observing the world of Atlas, he came across a particular mali’ker. He didn’t have the prismatic aura he was looking for, but he had this bright vibrant emerald green aura, almost the same as his own. He didn’t understand much about this mali’ker, but from he knew, this dark elf (mali’ker) was a bastard son of one of the tribes in the Warhawkes. His knowledge of the Warhawkes did not extend thousands of years, but he knew that they emerged within the last few hundred years. He stroked his chin while he thought of what this mali’ker was able to do.

During one of his sessions, he spotted this mali’ker while he was talking to his young high elf boy, who seemed to be around thirteen solar rotations old (13 years old) and how he attempted to defend the child from the dark mage that altered the boy’s soul, granting him the power to set things aflame. Zarelek was aware of the spell used on the poor boy and he knew that it would last quite some time, but would forever alter the boy’s soul. This didn’t hinder the boy from learning much magic, but he wouldn’t be able to learn druidic powers even if he wanted to due to the soul being altered.

Zarelek clapped his hands one time and rubbed them together, saying with a small amount of glee “This mali’ker is whom I shall oversee. Perhaps even attempt to teach him the magic of Oblivion, but however, I must keep my influence small lest I wish to have the boy notice that he has my attention. This means I cannot make the same mistakes I made with that high elf with this mali’ker boy. Let us see how this boy handles his daily life and its challenges...”

This began Zarelek’s own round of testing the boy. Seeing if he will prove adequate enough to be taught the magic of Oblivion.

OOC: (For the LT) Even if Zarelek isn’t accepted yet, I feel like he is a good character to have in my stories and thus shouldn’t be considered canon to the deity’s story until being accepted. Also, this means that for the time being, Oblivion Magic (and the relevant instant t5) will go to my dark elf character if the magic of Oblivion ends up being accepted alongside with the deity. This isn’t meant to be one of those “oh your just making special magic for your characters to make yourself more powerful” situations, but merely a narrative of Karren’s and Zarelek’s story.

(For everyone else) I hope you enjoyed “Delving into the Dark” as there will be more stories to come in the Creative Writing section.

If you had to put a soft cap on any race’s maximum lifespan, who and why, human’s remind me of disposable trash-bags, they just go too quickly.

Elves, definitely. I’d make it to where they could only live for 2500 years before dying because it would make sense that they’d live to see all others thrive while they stay stagnant.

Why do you hang out with us halflings in Dunshire so often?

I hang out with the halflings in Dunshire because they provide the peaceful roleplay that I cannot find anywhere else. Basically, it’s just fun to be with ya tiny buggers.

Why would you make an AMA when your reputation is horrible?

        You’re almost baiting people IMO

Figured people can vent their problems by asking me questions and to also give them an understanding of me that they clearly do not get yet. Also, helps me to understand people better.

If you had to remove on race from lotc, what one would have to go?

    That’s a tough one.

I’d probably say High Elves because they are the kind of race that give off the snobbish vibe. That or just rewrite them.

Why are you, a fairly new player, allowed to have vanish and fly just to stream?

Do you feel you streaming could potentially lead to metagaming?

Will you ever clean your room?

    1. I requested for the Game Mods to give me /fly so I can get a better viewpoint for my stream. As to the invis, it was to get people to stop dinging me and focus on the roleplay.
    2. Only if you’re a real idiot and say that your streaming to just break that rule.
    3. No. Never.
    4. Got any memes?

I tried this, the lore got denied because it was “antag” lore. This is “Protag” lore by that definition and should be denied for the same reason the Gyloth lore was denied last map. Making content isn’t good enough for the LT nowadays, they will threaten you with blacklists and deny every single lore thread you post if you’re intention is to create enjoyable content. Why? Because it breaks lore.

That won’t stop me from what I enjoy doing. The saddest thing that I’m seeing so far is that people are unwilling to accept new lore that aims to provide the players with new and exciting content, even with 7.0 on the way.

(Sorry for the short reply, but its 10pm and I just woke up.)

Alright, I’m not going to sit here and absolutely bombard you with the accusation that you’re only making this to have your own special magic. I hope to god you’ve grown from when you sat in Haelun’or and spammed me in game to teach you magic and said you were entitled to it. Which makes me believe what others say that you just want your snowflake rp. If thats the case and this gets passed then we’ll definitely be able to see it by how you treat it when the time comes. Until then I’m gonna give a wait and see attitude.

As for the lore itself I think its mostly fine, some things are questionable and really leave a lot of questions unanswered that really shouldn’t just go unanswered. My main issue is that this just seems like it’ll just be thrown into the current lore with no rhyme or reason. It doesn’t fit at all with the current deities tones and themes.

I really despise your reply here. As it shows that you have no real care for how this lore piece meshes with others. You just wrote it because you need it for your special magic. It’s almost just spitting in the face of the way gods and deities are handled in current lore. You need to rethink this over, because in my opinion you just throwing a new deity into the lore pitch like a car heading 100mph down a highway is a recipe for disaster.

No hate for you (besides your attitude towards other players) but fix your lore if you want it in. -1

The point of this deity is to allow for adaptability and to help create a fun story arc. Not just for special magic to exist, but again, the whole point is adaptability and for fun roleplay to be created.

Besides, I posted that reply before I talked to Quavinir, who was kind enough to tell me that the deity I’ve created is a Greater Deity as Iblees had even feared him enough to curse him with a banishing curse. Now, the deity exists as a being still trapped within his own realm, but now there are more ways to interact with this deity alone and to even gain historical knowledge of ages long since past and even to gain new herbs that can create drinks that can heal or kill the inflicted.

Essentially, I’m not just creating a new deity. I’m making a deity and relevant content to go along with the god.

Yeah, it’s a big issue and needs to be addressed. We need lore that allows for deities to be created and eventually destroyed, nothing lives forever. Surprisingly, the only game I've ever seen do this correctly is God of War and Runescape’s “gods” where they at one point were mortal but acquired so much power that they ascended to godhood only to eventually die like all things should.

    Edit:

Wouldn’t it be interesting if tenets were created by deities due to the risk that their agents would go rogue and turn on them? Maybe if an Ascended went rogue they could become parasites on the deity and leech it of it’s power.

Thats actually one of the main concepts of this deity. He knows that people would abuse his power so he introduces Edictian laws that would prevent Descendants from abusing his gift of Oblivion Magic and other such magics.
