  4. What race(s) do you like to play the best? There are more than a few races in LotC. Personally, I’ve played (in order from first to latest) a wood elf, snow elf, mixed human, farfolk, dwarf, and dark elf. Each race has its own history and culture and various things that make it fun to play. In your opinion, which race(s) do you enjoy playing the most? Why do you enjoy playing them? What about the race makes it interesting and fun to play? This is purely out of curiosity on your guys’ opinions, as I have played a handful of races myself and hold my own opinions, but I wanna hear everyone else’s and your guys’ experiences. Please keep all replies respectful and on-topic!

  6. Animated Banner Battle – Results COMPETITION Players had the opportunity to design and animate their own banner for LotC which would be displayed on the various voting sites, if they were to win. After a long amount of deliberation and reaching out to other members of the community to continue submitting banners for the contest, we have picked a winner to work with to create a final, animated voting banner for LotC. WINNERS The winner of this contest, to receive the Creative Wizard tag, an RP item, 5000 Minas, and their banner on the voting sites, is... @Tykeandy In second place, winning the Creative Wizard tag, an RP item, and 3000 Minas, is... @Starfelt And in third place, winning an RP item and 1000 Minas, is... @GodOfPie Please keep in mind that out of all submitted banners, only those that used the form to submit and were original were qualified to win. Thank you to all of those who submitted banners, and I hope you all have a lovely rest of your day!
  7. Concerning walls, my two cents: Llyria. Thank you for coming to my tedtalk. Nah, but really, if Llyria had actually made walls, then there wouldn’t have been bandits there plaguing everyone’s RP every five seconds. If you had lived there, you would understand the need for walls, else people like to come by and screw up RP. There is a reason places have walls. Everyone in Llyria literally got bullied out after raid after raid after raid after bandit after raid. Every single day. I am for walls, because without them, people will skirt by the raid rules and raid with, like, 2 people all the time unendlessly if they feel like it. Llyria. They should have had walls.
  8. Community Meeting Notes - August 2020 - Topics 8.0 War Server Rules Map End Recording https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1We8sLxVGUbtf668eAOwYTmn3a0Hdl-5c?usp=sharing Questions and Answers Q: Are there any updates on the war server? (Tech) - qɹɐɯ#9406 A: Tech Team made a discord server where we plan to share updates on tech progress and look for community feedback on our projects. One of those projects is the war server. It’s still a work in progress; we are rewriting plugins from the ground up because a lot of them are very broken. We will be doing initial tests on 1.15 PVP soon - if it doesn’t perform well, we’ll try porting some of our code to 1.12. It won’t be too difficult because there’s a plugin that allows 1.15 clients to connect to 1.12. The main LoTC discord’s announcements channel has an invite to the Tech Discord - visit it for more updates like that. Q: Can the price of skins that skinners can submit be upgraded from 500 minas. I am sure skinners would rather get more minas and do a nicer skin then making typical skins that new players could have just made themselves (Admin) - Qizu#5409 A: This must be about the skin archive or new player skin requests - skinners currently get paid 600 minas for a full skin or 400 minas if they’re lesser in quality/effort. The Community Team, and later Admins, will talk about the possibility of changing that. Q: How long is it estimated to the map transfer and will we have the ability to have echest of our desired items? (World) - cottage cheese#9620 A: We’re keeping the release date, but things are a little vague right now. We are still sticking to the fall 2020 timeline, though. You’ll be able to e-chest items and things will not be manually reviewed this time. Instead, we’ll have an automated Vault Plugin to approve things; you can have a double chest worth of items. However, they’ve got to be signed RP items. Also, the Story Team will be doing a quick check to remove blacklisted or retconned items. Once we have our Vault Plugin open, we’ll announce exactly what the standards are in detail. Q: The official, confirmed, and exact date of Almaris map (World) - Cakerawala#2499 A: You’ll find out when we get closer. Q: Do you know about Hytale, and if so, will there be any consideration of starting a subcommunity in the game when it comes out? I feel like I should clarify. I'm not insinuating that you make another server or switch the server over entirely, I just mean a group of people from this community who get together every once in a while and play Hytale together. (Admin) - Slick Dapper#9676 A: We know about Hytale. We’re not looking at incorporating it right now. Q: How did Almaris come to be named? (Admin) - Crevel#9266 A: The World Team came up with it and the Admins approved it. We started with five names and narrowed it down with a vote. Q: What is the reason why the server was created and was it hard (Admin) - TAMEFX#1905 A: The server was created in 2011 for people to roleplay. It was one of the first major roleplay servers on Minecraft. The founders of the server tried it out and it worked; it was quite hard in the beginning, but it took off and that momentum has carried through until now. Q: Why do some suggestions seem like they are being skipped? Would make the most sense to go from oldest suggestion down, wouldn't it? (Community) - Barber#7707 A: Suggestions are handled depending on a few different factors. Depending on the guidelines, they can be skipped and returned to later. If they follow the guidelines, we wait for a significant number of people to show their support for the idea. If they get a lot of downvotes, we sit on it for even longer to see if the downvote to upvote ratio changes. All in all, actions on suggestions really depend on the feedback that players provide. Q: Will we be seeing any other new additions to the server similar to the botany plugin in the near future, or next map? If so, what will they be? (Tech) - un-w#9099 A: Definitely, yes. Tech Team is talking to the Story Team about putting some mining notes in a similar plugin, but that’s still in the works as we try to figure out what our plan is for some of the skills in the next map. For this stuff, I’d keep an eye on the Tech Discord. We don’t have exact plans, but we have a general sense that we want to add those kinds of things, especially with the professions system. The professions system has been confirmed for the next map and is something we’ve outlined in the aforementioned Discord. We’ll have FAQs in there, among other things. Q: Any update on economy changes for next map? We haven’t heard anything about it other than changes will probably happen. (World) - Desired#2831 A: Hiebe is not available to answer this question - he will get back to you. Q: Why not just run a 1.8 war server for when warclaims happen? (Tech) - Pogmeister#4061 A: We did discuss this earlier. It’s not necessary to go back that far to get stable PVP, so we’ll probably only go back to 1.12; it’s much more feasible. Going back to 1.8 would require a lot more work. Q: What can and cant be taken to the the new world - Sharkie#5450 A: Roleplay items will pretty much all be allowed, save things that have been retconned, blacklisted, etc. There will be a post outlining more specifics. Q: How will the end of world event incorporate multiple Timezones, without feeling rushed or dragged out? (Story) - BenjiBot#1207 A: In the past, we’ve generally condensed these events into a day or two, which made it hard for some players to attend. So this time, we’re thinking of spreading it across to five, six, or seven days to give players an opportunity to participate in some capacity. Q: Are the answers gonna be yes's and no's only? - nano#0784 A: No. Q: Can we get to see other items with the same damage and swing speed of a sword. e.g. a warhammer pickaxe, a sickle hoe, a battle shovel, a battleaxe, etc.? Helps with resource packs too (There was an announcement earlier on weapon diversity although I wasn't entirely sure what that meant) (Tech) - nano#0784 A: In the Tech Discord, we have a PVP channel where we try to start outlining things. We have a bunch of stuff written down and we’re trying to slowly send out information in waves. Many changes are set to occur; we’re trying to address as many things as we can. For example, there will be items with the same damage, but they’ll have different swing times if they’re heavier to swing. Some weapons will bar you if they’re two-handed. There’s a lot of intricacies, so direct all questions you might have to the suggestions channel for PVP in the Tech Discord. Q: Following from the last economy question, to the staff present or of knowing, do you think these changes are good enough? (World) - nano#0784 A: Again, this is a question for Hiebe, who isn’t available. Q: Do you mind explaining how resource nodes will work or interact with again for those who haven't seen an example? (Tech) - nano#0784 A: There’ll be different nodes on the map where you can try harvesting things with special tools. You might go and do a roll to see if you’re successful. What exactly we’re doing with nodes and how they’ll function is something that’s still in the works. If you’re referring to professions nodes, they’re a lot less RP based and a lot more mechanically based; it depends. Q: Are you ready for the Staff vs. Players event in a few hours? (Community) - nano#0784 A: Yes! Q: Are there any plans for other types of events that are more frequent? (Community) - nano#0784 A: Do Battle of the Arts or Creative Cafe! Those are frequent. We have a reformed Community Events focus group and they’re doing events every single month. There’s another Escape Room-esque event that’s coming up in October. Keep an eye out on the forums, but these things will also be announced in the announcements channel. Q: Can you confirm or deny that a boat transition will take place? (World, Story) - nano#0784 A: Yes. Q: How has time and ease walking from one settlement to the other changed or improved in the next map? (World) - nano#0784 A: There are going to be easier ways to travel. It’s still a big map, but walking time has been worked on. Q: Are there any planned changes to soulstones? (Tech) - nano#0784 A: Nothing’s planned, but we’ve realized that the plugin does need some updates. When we have some time to work on it, we’ll have a discussion and look for feedback from the Tech Discord. Q: From the staff present, which builds are you excited to see or explore for next map? - nano#0784 A: Armajesty - I want to go inside of CT. I’m hyped. Mystery Person - I want to see Junar’s build of Haelun’or. Muffins - I want to explore Aegrothond. Fie - Everything. Q: What do you think the player base can look forward too that hasn't been mentioned yet or you were hoping to be asked? - nano#0784 A: Nothing in particular. Q: Are there any planned changes to how soulbound items and soulbind tokens work? (Tech) - Orlanth#3080 A: No. Q: where is our conflict rule rewrite lol (Moderation) - kipps#1738 A: It’s still in progress. Q: up raid cap to 5-7 people? (Moderation) - Orlanth#3080 A: Raid rules are done. Once conflict’s also done, we’re going to get all of the rules posted at once. If conflict’s going to slow things down, though, we’ll get everything but that up within the next week or so. All of the rules that have been worked on for the last five or six months will be out by next month. Q: when is the inferi event going to end + is it the end of map event or not cus u guys keep saying it isn’t and then saying it might be (Story) - Werew0lf#0506 A: You’ll find out. Q: Would it be possible to fix the economy? RN, mina has no worth due to voting mina. Possibly have multiple currencies. Like Mina can be used everywhere, and player cities could have their own currency? (World) - Asteodia#4660 A: World Team is working on some changes for the next map. Hiebe isn’t here to provide details, but there’s stuff in progress to try and fix some of the issues we’ve had. Q: If you have an excess of ST/LT actor/story writer items of more than one double chest, can that be worked around the vault plugin to transfer all of these items? (Story) - Ryloth#6969 A: If you have alts or a friend who’s willing to carry along a few of your items, sure. Besides that, no, not really. Fifty-six items is more than enough. Q: can we have a more plants/foods plugin (Tech) - Narberall#6736 A: Yes. Professions is adding foods and plants and stuff like that. Join Tech Discord for more information! Q: Will the Library of Dragur be discontinued come 8.0? Will it remain being a 'staff sponsored' institution if not? (Admins) - Heero#7850 A: Admins have decided on that. It won’t be staff sponsored next map. Q: Does the Story Team have any plans for when we get into the later 1800s? We're extremely dangerously close to the 1800s and it fears me. (Story) - rowan#0423 A: The in-game year has absolutely nothing to do with the real timeline. We’re on a fantasy server. The year means nothing. Q: Oh! What'll happen to smaller settlements like Talons Grotto/Al-Faiz? Sorry if you've already answered this, just wanted to know (World) - rowan#0423 A: They can get a charter. Q: can there be a player vault plugin where you spend mina for a backpack like thing simular to a echest feature? (Tech) - Narberall#6736 A: No. We have shulkers - e-chests that are accessible anywhere have been proven to be far too abusable. fun. Q: Any money sinks at the very very end of next map to throw all our money and gear away before it disappears? (reposted) A: Just go to a big settlement and start throwing mina at the ground. It’ll be fun. Q: Are charters gonna be frequent next map will there be many around and will they be harder to get? (World) (reposted) A: They’ll still be a thing on the next map, but they won’t be as numerous as they were on this map. We had sixty to eighty charters on Arcas at one point - World Team will avoid having that happen again at all costs. Q: What is going to happen when the 'planet' that were on runs out of continents? Will we be adducted by aliens and moved to a new planet ? (Story) - KillerPandas#0500 A: We’re not on a planet. We’re on a disk. The world is flat. It’s also infinite, so we will never run out of land. Q: will there be any fast travel in the new map, to major landmarks for example? (World) - Aberrant Sam#4027 A: There won’t be fast travel directly to settlements, but the World Team is looking at making a hub system. The answer is yes, kind of. A bigger announcement will be made at a later date. Q: can vip skin store be upgraded per vip rank? like 1 for each skin that rank provides like diamond has 3 so can like maybe 3 at max? and like maybe starter accounts has 1 skin store. (Tech) - Narberall#6736 A: Yes, that’ll probably happen sometime in the future. Again, tune in on the tech discord - we have a section to discuss VIP perks. Q: Can we get an eventline where a group of people try to find the edge of the world and fall off? (Story) - MyNameIsMason#7867 A: Ask ST. Q: HOW DO WE NOT SEE ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE WORLD IF ITS FLAT? AND WHO MAKES MORE LAND??? Also, why can't we use the hot air balloons in CT to travel around the map? - KillerPandas#0500 A: Question number one: Fog. Question number two: The World Team. Question number three: Ask the Story Team. They have been used during events, but we don’t want hot air balloons to be abused during raids and warclaims. So there’s a fine line we have to tread in that if we approve lore for them, how do we justify them not being able to exist in some situations but being able to exist in others? That’s the problem with hot air balloons. Q: Is CT gonna make a new tutorial island or are you gonna reuse the one you spent time on this map? (Community) - RaiderBlue#3404 A: We’ll probably reuse it since it hasn’t been around for very long. It took a lot of work to make it, and it’ll take a lot of work to remake it. Q: Will we be any new additions to the LoTC store/donations? (Admin) - Heero#7850 A: It will be discussed in the Tech Discord under VIP perks, but we’re not planning anything right now. Q: Sorry if this has already been asked or publicy announced, but is there going to be freebuild on Almaris? (World) - MyNameIsMason#7867 A: It hasn’t been discussed yet. Q: like can we have sprite pets , not battle but for smaller races that cant use horses it gets like tireing so maybe some mounts? (Admin) - Narberall#6736 A: We’ve talked about this in the suggestions-discussion channel, but pets as a whole is a VIP perk--giving them to normal players would take away from the value of Aether VIP. Q: Will the resource pits see any changes come new map? For instance, removing some of the resources or adding new ones? (World) - Sybbyl#0002 A: Possibly. World Team will have an announcement in the near future. Q: oh like can cloud temple resorce pit be like in a different realm so it dont like have to be remade each map (World) - Narberall#6736 A: Refer to the last question. Q: Is it technically pugsy if someone refills the pit while you're in it and you get suffocated? - KillerPandas#0500 A: One, you’re invincible at CT. Two, the Pit Plugin doesn’t let you refill if someone’s inside. Q: can we pls get a wool pit? (World) - _fie#4300 A: No. We should get a sheep pit where thousands of sheep are forced into a tiny space and you have to start shearing spastically. (Armajesty) Q: Will we be updating to 1.16 with the launch of 8.0? - Heero#7850 A: No. Q: Ight so are you able to torture someone and does it have a lasting effect on their character? (Moderation) - DivinetheNoob#9104 A: Keep the server rules in mind. Mainly fade to black, but if you are going to emote it out, make sure that they’re comfortable, you’re not breaking server rules, and you’re not being super graphic. Keep it vague. As for permanent damage, that’s up to the player to take. You can’t force it on people. Q: will enchanted weapons with the new plugins have mechanical enchantments (Tech) - Ryloth#6969 A: Yes. Q: What's the ETA for updating to 1.16? - Heero#7850 A: No. Q: So I can water board ppl? (Moderation) - DivinetheNoob#9104 A: If the person you’re doing it to is comfortable. If they aren’t, FTB. Q: can there be bad herbs implemented? for example a mimic of tippins root that can be used only for alchemy symbols. looks and grows like tippins and when used like tippins thins the blood instead. (Story) - Narberall#6736 A: Make the lore and submit it. Q: Hay bale pit - TAMEFX#1905 A: Use the farms at CT. Q: What's the best way to ask somone if they're comfortable with torture? (both in lotc and real life) (Moderation) - MyNameIsMason#7867 A: Ask them if they’re okay with it. If they’re not, fade to black. Q: CAN WE MAKE THE FARMS AT CT REGROW WHEAT QUICKER PLS - _fie#4300 A: No. It’s kind of complicated. Q: How do I get to the secret room udner the ct farms? - MyNameIsMason#7867 A: If you knew, it wouldn’t be a secret. Q: What happens if you spawn into the map and you’re stuck in walls? - DivinetheNoob#9104 A: Make a /creq to be saved. If you get stuck and you know you can’t make a /creq in time, spam screenshots of your inventory before you die so you can make a /modreq and have your items be restored. Having screenshots will streamline the process for both you and the moderator in question. Q: so one more question, like uhh... is there any way for ice nodes since silk touch isnt like a thing - Narberall#6736 A: You can buy ice from the Cloud Temple market. Q: Okay, if you throw someone into a Fae Ring and leave them in there is it technically a PK since if you are in the Fae ring w/o being attuned then you have to pk. Its in the lore. But! if you're thrown in are you forced to pk since its one of the redlines? (Story) - KillerPandas#0500 A: If you throw someone in without consent, they don’t have to PK. Q: Will there be a disarmament of staff pex (with the exception of GM) for the initial launch of 8.0 like there has been done in the past? - Heero#7850 A: We don’t know; probably not. Q: Would there be a reason for teams to be against re-visiting currently listed guides or posts regarding things like Rules, or Team Guides, which were posted like years ago and mostly out of date for things like commands. It would be nice if we could collectively revisit posts like that to update them, like how ST handle Lore Mags - Sybbyl#0002 A: The Broom Crew, which was a focus group in the Community Team, went through all of the guides and deleted outdated ones. If you think there’s a section with guides that are no longer relevant and nor used, message Armajesty or LotsofMuffins. Q: Will the release of Shadowlands affect lotc? - MyNameIsMason#7867 A: Yes. Q: Are normal people able to make groups or associations that can actually like effect the lore of the game? As an example: A group of people going to eliminate, character kill the king or multiple people at once? - DivinetheNoob#9104 A: Yes, if it’s done through roleplay and if it doesn’t break the lore. Q: Can lotc pull a Shadowlands and rip a hole in the sky to a new realm? - RaiderBlue#3404 A: Ask ST. Q: Why did muffins make hogwarts and when shall lotc be sued - Jax#6776 A: Keep in mind that we are playing on a server called Lord of the Craft. Q: With 1.16 coming out, will we be able to get the blocks in the pits or will we have to buy all of them? (World) - Bethinwonderland#3240 A: We don’t really have an answer for that. Q: can sprites change what they are, like dayward sprite become spiritually changed and become nightward? - Narberall#6736 A: No. Q: /money top again pls - nano#0784 A: No. Q: If everyone loses their money, where does the money come from? Is it time to start printing money? - red.#7752 A: No. Q: What’s the easiest way to get Mina in the game? - DivinetheNoob#9104 A: Do /vote. You can also find work in taverns. Q: can players cause famines, like for example someone mix death potions into a brewery supply and wait? - Narberall#6736 A: Sure. Follow server lore. Q: Are CT monks necromancers ? Also, allow the opening of Monks to the open playerbase - KillerPandas#0500 A: No.
  9. Open Family Guide Introduction Finding families to join can be tough, though to assist in the process of finding families looking for new members, we’ve created this guide! Please note that this is to assist in players finding family heads to contact; players may not join a family without permission from that family’s head. If you have any questions, let me know! This list is organized based on race, so you will find all families of the same race grouped together. Families can add their family to this list by filling out this form: https://forms.gle/QvVfQ3GARKb6BBxY9. High & Snow Elves Aevaris Contact: lillyeveans / Maevelin#1083 Head: Aestenia Aevaris Race: High Elf Location of Residency: Haelun'or Common Physical Attributes: The Aevaris family have light blonde hair (varying from white blonde to true blonde) and mixed bluegreen eyes. Ear shapes tend to be more pointed upwards and stature is more on the taller, willowy side of high elves. Common Behaviour(s): The Aevaris family tends to fall into traditional high elf ideals of attitudes towards non-high elves not in Haelun'or. They do enjoy research and building projects which causes them to get involved in multiple projects at once. There can never be too much knowledge and are fiercely loyal and protective of those they care about. Additional Note(s): Maehr’tehral Contact: Parion / parion#1217 Head: Nelgauth Maehr’tehral Race: High Elf Location of Residency: Haelun’or Common Physical Attributes: This is a very large family. Members are either known for white hair and blue eyes, or blond hair and purple eyes (this side of the family often has males with beards). Common Behaviour(s): Although they are high elves, the Maehr’tehral are known for their nomadic habits with individuals who prioritise curiosity and satiating their boredom over the traditional lifestyle of Mali’thill. Their most iconic trait is how all Maehr’tehral suffer from chronic apathy, often losing interest in hobbies and careers very quickly, causing them to frequently change direction in life. Additional Note(s): Orndorff Contact: Chaltastic / Chalcedony#1223 Head: Heryetta Farise Orndorff Race: High Elf Location of Residency: Haelun’or Common Physical Attributes: The pure-blooded family (tend to) have long, light, blonde hair and darkish-blue eyes. Most have soft curls in their hairstyle, their long pointy ears sticking out of it. Their emotions usually aren't displayed vividly. This has more to do with the construction of their face and less to do with being a high elf, as their facial expressions don't vary widely. Common Behaviour(s): The family tends to value the high elf culture with its customs and rituals. They are often reserved, but easy-going in mind. The family members tend to care a lot about their peers (and their opinion). Most will do everything to maintain balance and the status-quo, even if that means sacrificing something. Often, the members bottle their emotions up, which is done in different ways. Additional Note(s): My persona's parents have three children, two daughters and a son, all adults now. The general aesthetic for the family is 1910-1930s but LotC-ified. A fire symbol is often used in clothing and decorations. I'm open to all kinds of family members. Let me know if you're interested! Tathvir Contact: Mewliet / Mewliet#6297 Head: Valerica Tathvir Race: Snow Elves Location of Residency: N/A Common Physical Attributes: They have pale skin, silver/white hair, and gold-ringed, teal-coloured eyes. Common Behaviour(s): They're very blatant and value family over most things. Additional Note(s): Valaker Contact: SriFoo / SriFoo#5770 Head: Aeron Valaker Race: High Elf Location of Residency: Haelun'or Common Physical Attributes: The Valaker family is known for having purple eyes, fair skin, and predominantly white hair. They commonly have exceptionally-long ears even for high elves. Common Behaviour(s): Valakers tend to be extremely ambitious and driven. They are purist at heart yet will often skirt on the edge of it for various reasons usually related to there ambition. Additional Note(s): Find the family’s discord at https://discord.gg/psfrKKf. Wood Elves Arvellon Contact: Mewliet & DrinkJellybeans / Mewliet#6297 & DrinkPesticide#3970 Head: Eretria & Nerrin Race: Wood Elf Location of Residency: Siramenor Common Physical Attributes: They have bronze or tan skin with common eye colors being green or brown. Common Behaviour(s): The Arvellon seed is full of tricksters who enjoy having a good time and even pulling small pranks on other people. Additional Note(s): Ilathdyn Contact: Unwillingly / Unwillingly#9099 Head: Eir'thall Ilathdyn Race: Wood Elf Location of Residency: Siramenor Common Physical Attributes: The appearance of the Ilathdyn people can vary, as physical traits and appearances are not often held with much care or regard. Instead, it is the tribal tattoos and inking that allows one to be identified. They follow one's jawline, with one or two metaphorical "teeth" jutting up at each side, symbolizing the bite of Mahae: the Lion mani. Additionally, the clan tattoo follows ones shoulders, down their chest in a decorative dark red hue. They typically wear fabrics, shawls, or robes of red, orange, and black. Common Behaviour(s): The wood elves of Ilathdyn comprise of more outwardly aggressive and warlike beliefs. They believe in strength, valor, and prowess, for it is what defines the heart of their people. With this, it is rare that a woman would be permitted into the clan - but not impossible. Even more so, homosexuals are viewed as deplorable among the clan, for they are seen as a direct threat to the already limited reproduction of the wood elves. They tend to enjoy rough-housing and brawls, especially with other members of the clan, so they typically don't mind getting socked in the face a few times. They're known for being the outwardly spoken and passionate for their beliefs. Additional Note(s): Don't be discouraged by the description of the clan! I understand if it might be a bit much for a new player, but there's plenty of us who would be willing to help you get the ropes of things RPly and OOCly. This clan was made with the intention to create memorable and unique conflict RP with other people - and it doesn't always mean we're the villains in RP either. Sometimes they just want what's best for their people. We're pretty chill people OOCly, and we're always accepting new members, so please don't hesitate to contact me or ask about us in RP. Here’s the clan post. Sirame Contact: Junoix / Junoix#6965 Head: Sonna Sirame Race: Wood Elf Location of Residency: Siramenor Common Physical Attributes: The Sirame Seed accepts elves of all races, so there is no common physical appearance except the pointed ears. Common Behaviour(s): Those in the Sirame Seed are typically guides of the wood elven faith, whether they be druids, priests, healers, or teachers. They are wise and parental in nature, seeking to teach and give advice to those who will listen. Additional Note(s): Tahorran Contact: linzexu / Lao#3371 Head: Laetranis ap Tahorran Race: Wood Elf Location of Residency: Siramenor Common Physical Attributes: Tahorran tend to have dark hair, dark skin and green or yellow eyes. They stand tall (by wood elven standards) and lithe. Adult members of the tribe are tattooed with the crest and wings of the mighty Eagle- the patron spirit of the clan. Common Behaviour(s): The Tahorran live a tribal existence in harmony with nature. They are hunters, but are most at home on the rivers and seas. They are renowned for their fast canoes, and their skill as whalers and fishermen. They believe that all things must be acquired naturally, and abstain from "tame" behaviours like farming or animal husbandry. Like other wood elf tribes, the Tahorran are devotees of elnarnsae'ame, the wild faith of the Wood Elves. Additional Note(s): Find the family’s forum post here. Mixed Elves Kaeronin Contact: Commissar_Voop / Voop#2394 Head: Kailu Kaeronin Race: Mixed Elf Location of Residency: Aegrothond Common Physical Attributes: Members of this family mainly have blond or white hair and can uncommonly grow a beard. Common Behaviour(s): They are friendly to other people, as long as no one starts making a fuss about someone. Kaeronins always tend to sail out into to the seas; all they want is peace and freedom. Additional Note(s): Uialben Contact: mika1278 / mika1278#0993 Head: Mika Uialben-Goldhand Race: Mixed Elf Location of Residency: Sutica Common Physical Attributes: Wood elven skin, red hair, red eyes, very much so mixbred between the elven subraces. Common Behaviour(s): A diverse bunch of elves, usually fairly chaotic in their presence, family is their number one priority alongside the survival of the upcoming generation of Uialbens with a free-going attitude where freedom is all they seek. Additional Note(s): Vincrute (T'Dyrr branch) Contact: Slamguinius_ / Imp#7502 Head: Ganzorig Race: Dark Elf/Wood Elf Location of Residency: N/A Common Physical Attributes: They typically have golden/amber eyes and white hair. Common Behaviour(s): Vincrutes of the T'Dyrr line arise with strong traits of duty, dedication, and short tempers. They have traditionally worshiped the ancestors (but not spirits) and Xan. Additional Note(s): Dwarves Goldhand Contact: JokerLow / JokerLow#6666 Head: Uldraek Goldhand Race: Mountain Dwarf Location of Residency: Urguan Common Physical Attributes: Although mountain dwarves, average Goldhands would present themselves with different traits from other mountain folk. With hair, golden as their mina and eyes blue as the sky, the Goldhands could be easily distincted from other mountain dwarves. But afterall, it is a clan, physical attributes mean nothing to a clan. It all stand on what we are united by, which is our oath to the clan and Brathmordakin and blessing to trade and make mina. Common Behaviour(s): Mostly merchants or traders, tho never stopped at one profession, Goldhands could be anything from fighters to scholars, to mages or bakers. Even tho the clan has the main unifying factor of making minas, it also serves as a family to each dwarf part of it. Additional Note(s): Grimgold Contact: Hrokaz / Shadowhunter Zulan'jin#2772 Head: Alaric Grimgold Race: Dwarf Location of Residency: Urguan Common Physical Attributes: The Grimgolds are commonly found with gold to crimson hair, with many shades of blonde and red in between, though those of Dark Dwarf ancestry tend to have white or black as other common colors. They are taller than most Dwarves, especially members of Dark Dwarf heritage. The Mountain Dwarf line has pale white skin, while the Dark Dwarves are dark purple-gray to deep obsidian. Their eyes tend to be shades of greens and blues, though the Dark Dwarf line possesses either fiery red or shining golden eyes. Male Grimgolds have long beards, while roughly half the she-dwarves are capable of growing beards. Common Behaviour(s): Grimgolds tend to be devoutly pious, untrusting of outsiders (though surprisingly accepting of non-Dwarves), and dourly grim. They are flashy with wealth, greedy over treasured goods, but are generous with trusted friends. Family and loyalty are paramount to a Grimgold, with trust being slow earned, and they will not swear an oath they are unsure if they can fulfill. Most favor crafting, soldiering, or church professions, though merchants and thieves are not unheard of. They tend to be well spoken and learned, slow to stir to directed action, but quick to rise to anger when provoked. Generally a clan of great duality, as symbolized by their masks, often treading the line between conservative long held traditions and the liberal advance progress. Additional Note(s): The Grimgolds are most known for their Clan Masks, which they often wear when not in a Clan Hold. Most are crafted in the faces of the Brathmordakin (except Yemekar), though animals and other concepts like ancestors are also acceptable. Blood related Grimgolds descend from one of four bloodlines-- the line of Edalric, who tend to be statesmen and contains Dark Dwarves though Alaric Grimgold; the line of Valezik, who tend to be warriors and soldiers; the line of Baedenic, who tend to be artists and are said to be very beautiful; and the line of Ezik, who tend to be thieves and merchants. Dwarves of lesser clans can be adopted as Grimgolds, non-Dwarves can be accepted though significantly rare. The Clanfather has clan outfits skins available, but Grimgolds tend to wear blacks and golds and crimsons. The clan page will be updated with additional information here. Creatures Pride Therkul Contact: Rylothh / Ryloth#6969 Head: Ri'Haskir'Kul Race: Kharajyr Location of Residency: Haelun'or Common Physical Attributes: There are no specifics required, though a large number are Kha'Pantera with charcoal-black fur. Common Behaviour(s): They are kind to high elves and azdrazi but hostile to most hou-zi, wonks, and goblins. Kharajyr in this pride are very protective of their religious views and would die gloriously in defense of their goddess and creator, Metztli. Additional Note(s): Pride Therkul is a pride of knowledge collection and safe-guarding. It is one which flows with the blood of Imperial Tla'toanni blessed by the Aengudaemon Metztli. In its ancient times past, the pride sought to collect and understand all knowledge that had been gathered by Descendants, so as to learn and progress as a people after their utopian home of Karakatua was devastated by a terrible volcano. Notably, this particular Kharajyr pride has deep ties with the Aengudaemon Metztli, and the Arch-Drakaar Azdromoth. Uiatla Contact: Postmaster_ / Postmaster Ark Ark#8086 Head: Ki'Xochil Race: Kharajyr Location of Residency: Talon's Grotto Common Physical Attributes: The Uiatla primarily consist of Kharajyr'Pantera and Kharajyr'Tigrasi. The younger generation appears to be dark-black furred with tiger-striped markings. Common Behaviour(s): The Uiatla are a fairly-curious bunch. It seems learning new things is always a draw for many of them. Outwardly, they are genuinely a good bunch too, striving for a little more betterment to the realm. Additional Note(s):

  12. Part 2 – Sutica INTRODUCTION Hello! Our next spotlight is on Sutica, so enjoy! If you have any suggestions for future spotlights, please leave a comment down below. CREDITS Video and Editing: @Tykeandy
  13. Welcome to the next event put on by the Community Team: INTRODUCTION For our next Community Event, we encourage staff and players alike to hash it out over Hunger Games, hosted on Lord of the Craft. Although it will be a free-for-all, the lone winner will win for their side: staff or players. RULES You cannot bring anything into the arena. You must start with absolutely nothing. This includes items, Soulbinds, money, armour, food, and anything else. If you bring something onto the field, it may be cleared from your inventory. Teaming will not be enforced, though it is encouraged. That being said, people are allowed to betray each other. Staff members may not use any form of pex, including but not limited to: god, vanish, effect, fly, spectator, etc. The last person standing wins for their ‘team’: staff or players. HOW TO JOIN If you’d like to join, please fill out the following sign-up form. Keep in mind that the date and time will be decided on the time most voted for in the sign-up form, so the date/time is not decided yet but will be posted for all those who have decided to sign up. https://forms.gle/CJ9xo6NoEiKkuoHJ6 HOW IT WILL WORK On the day of the event (to be determined, see above), participants will be placed in a room to store their items and money. After their inventories are cleared, they will be placed in the arena on designated podiums. There are no enforced teams, so it’s every man for himself unless participants decide to team up themselves. Each team will be in a voice chat so they may communicate. The game will run until all but one person is dead. Those who die will be moved in the dead people VC, where they may watch the game and be sponsors to those still living. Please keep in mind that if you are playing, you must be in the discord, which is linked at the end of the sign-up form! SPONSORS Participants who have died and been eliminated from the game can become sponsors. Therefore, even after death, you can still have an effect on the game! The longer participants were alive, the more things they can send to those still in the game. You can send helpful things such as food, weapons, etc. to participants, or you can send monsters, lightning, etc. after participants in an attempt to get them killed. HOW TO WIN & PRIZES Simply put, if a member of your team (staff or players) is the last one alive, you and your team wins. Each member of the winning team will receive some sort of prize, though the longest-lasting members of the winning team will receive a better prize. If you’d like to find out what the prizes are, sign up and win! Special thanks to the Community Events Team for working on this project!

  17. COMMUNITY TEAM UPDATE LOG JUNE 2020 INTRODUCTION Hello again! The Community Team has been hard at work once again this month! With Pots and Pandits training beginning, our Halloween event beginning its planning (even though it’s a ways away, it’s a big event, so we’re starting now), and the Community Events Team making it’s way back, we’ve been keeping on track. JUNE DATA - Overview - This month, we saw a total of 281 apps handled, with 136 new players welcomed onto LotC. Last month, we had 370 applications and 200 new players. As usual, we’ve still maintained about a 1:1 acceptance versus denial rate, with the exact amount being 48.4% of applications being accepted, 4.3% more than last month. Now that the coronavirus spike has settled down, we’re heading back towards our usual numbers, which are typically in the low 200’s. Although we’ve still got a bit of that spike, it is slowly simmering down. See more about applications per month below! - Monthly Applications - - Accepted/Denied Ratios - - Race Specific Data - - New Player Guidance - TEAM DATA - Application Team Data - APPLICATION KING/QUEEN This month’s Application Queen goes to... @Amelica! @Amelica Followed behind by @Hopesky123 and @RedRider101! With 66 applications, Amelica is kickin’ it, taking the crown with a bang. CURRENT ROSTER Community Administrator @LotsOfMuffins Community Managers @armajesty @N00tN00t_ @TimberBuff Community Team Members @AccioNily @Amelica @AnonymousAlexa @camocat9 @Disheartened @Epistile @HogoBojo @Hopesky123 @MC_BreadStick @MrMineLoveDude @moosehunter123 @RedRider101 @snoopie12 Content Creators @Amayonnaise @Amelica @MC_BreadStick @TheIchorDruid @Tykeandy @xDK Wiki Team Members @DesiredBreakfast @JokerLow @Tigergiri PROJECT UPDATES Application Team – @armajesty The Application Team, as usual, has been hard at work! Although it’s not a requirement for CT members to do apps unless they’re on the AT, we’ve been getting loads of help from them, so we’ve been able to keep our wait time to about a day. If you have any feedback for any improvements we should make to the current application system, feel free to drop a comment below. Otherwise, we’ve been continuing to review loads of apps this month and will continue to the next! Content Creation – @N00tN00t_ Hi guys, Fie here!! Another month has gone by in the blink of an eye. Did I just rhyme? Yes, yes I did. Anyway. Let me quickly inform you of what the Content Creation Team has been up to! First of all, a H U G E shoutout to @Amelica for the lovely pieces of art she has made for the skin archive, and another H U G E shoutout to @Amayonnaise for the dedication and hard work she has put into the art and skins she has made for the Content Creation Team this past month. Cheers to you two! Moving on, I'd like to thank the teams video editors, @xDK, @Tykeandy, @FIXER957, and @LotsOfMuffins for their hard work on the Tutorial Video Series! Also, thank you @Tykeandy, for the amazing map trailer you worked on! Lastly, I'd like to welcome @TheIchorDruidto the Content Creation Team. It's good to have you on board!! One more thing before I shut up! The Content Creation Team is looking for skinners that are willing to to join the team in order to regulary donate a skin to the Skin Archive in exchange for Mina and PEX for personal use. Take care, gamers. Community Events – @AccioNily Howdy all! A lot has happened this month regarding the new Community Events Focus Group- its creation, for starters. Since the Projects FG (briefly lead by my fellow Pink boi snoopie12 for the first 2 weeks of this month) has completed all of their work and ran out of tasks for team members, the Projects FG morphed into the Community Events FG. Even though it's just starting out, we're making some great progress already with fun holiday events being planned as well as new ideas for some tournaments in the works. In addition to this, the Events FG will also be taking in our past scheduled events, such as Creative Café and Battle of the Arts. To finish up this small update, I'd like to thank everyone in the Focus Group and all our volunteers from other groups who are hard at work to create a fun and unique experience for the player s ❤️ If you have any feedback you’d like to give us regarding an event you’ve participated in in the past, please fill out this form: https://forms.gle/m6Bx6FaXRDX1N28B6. Pots and Pandits – @AccioNily The Pots and Pandits FG has been hard at work with requests for combat training from new players in our new request channel in the LotC discord. We’re still working on how exactly we want sessions to run, though we’ve been teaching new players CRP one-on-one, and it’s going really well! Read more about the Pots and Pandits team here: https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/192542-pots-and-pandits/. Wiki Team – @TimberBuff Hey everyone! A quick update from wiki land! Right now each of the members are working on individual projects such as revamping the herb pages to fit new lore, working on creature pages, and general page maintenance. This is all in preparation for the massive wiki update coming soon, courtesy of our awesome dev Lyonharted. We are still taking new members, as this next project of ours will be massive! Feel free to reach out to either myself or any member of the team if there are specific problems you would like resolved on the wiki, and have a wonderful day! JULY’S DIRECTION Last month was about Tutorial Island and finishing up Community Team projects. This month, with Tutorial Island done, we’ll be looking at continuing some of our various projects all across the team! Last Month’s Goals Tutorial Island Tutorial Island is 100% done. With the bugs concerning it fixed and feedback (mostly) implemented, we’re done! Tutorial Island will be around next map exactly the same as it is now (except for it’ll, well, bring you to Almaris instead of Arcas), so we don’t have to change a thing for the next map. As such, we’ve accomplished this goal, and I’m happy to be able to say that after months and months of work. Monk Lore and the Traveler’s Guild The Traveler's Guild still has yet to be integrated as Community Management is still in the process of reviewing as we make final decisions about it's progression. As for the Monk Lore side of things, much like last month the written portion has been completed. This project was one of our main focuses this month. Community management reviewed in in full before passing it on to Story Team. After that, with guidance from Rift, we were able to apply the finishing touches Projects Focus Group As most of you know, the Projects focus group was reaching the end of it's journey last month, and we were working hard to find a solid replacement for it. With feedback from both the community, and our own members we settled on bringing back the Events Focus Group. The members of said group are already hard at work to bring some fun to LotC and we hope to see you at events in the future. This Month’s Goals Community Events Now that the Projects Focus Group has been shifted into Community Events following the completion of all its projects, we are now focusing on getting that focus group solid and consistently putting out events for you guys to enjoy. The merge of the community events volunteer group into Projects was a bit odd, since now all Projects FG members are working on the volunteer-based community events from before, though we’re working on smoothing out that transition. Team Members We’ve not had a full roster on the Community Team for about three months now, and I’m looking to try to change that. Current CT members have let their friends know about the CT, and I have been speaking to those unaware of what we do. We’ve gotten a handful of applications in, but the Community Team is fairly harsh in terms of applications. The entire team gets to decide, and we typically base it off of whether or not they could tell us the core duties of the team, their level of interest shown in their interview and application, how active they are in the LotC discord and in-game, and if they’ve been around helping players pre-applying. One of our goals this month is to encourage others to apply and slowly refill our roster. If you’d be interested in applying, check out the Staff Team Guide linked in the staff applications section of the forums for more info. Content Creation The Content Creation Team has been hard at work with loads of videos for you guys, such as the tutorial series and the map trailer, and we’ve got loads more videos planned, such as future tutorials, settlement spotlights, and videos going over the history of various nations. I’m excited to see these come out, but we’ve gotta keep workin’ hard to see them! In addition, the skinners of the team have been continuing to create needed skins for the Skin Archive, so we’ll see more of that this month. If you have any questions or comments about the direction that we are going in, feel free to leave a comment down below or reach out to a team member.
  18. 8.0 Map Trailer - Almaris The official map trailer for 8.0 is finally here! Take a look at the amazing world created by the World Team, which you’ll be able to explore for yourself this Fall. Credits The map is entirely created by the World Team, a fantastic group of individuals who have been working hard for months to create our next map. The video was edited by @Tykeandy from the Content Creation Team.
  19. Part 3 – Shops INTRODUCTION Hello! The third video in this series is all about shops! In this brief video, we delve into how to buy/sell items from existing shops and how to create your own. We purposefully did not go super in-depth with what the interaction after performing /sb looks like. In the first version of the script, we did, but that video ended up too long, complex, and confusing. So instead, we opted for a shorter tutorial that covers everything you need to know without going too detailed. If you have any feedback or any ideas for future videos, either in this series or not, please feel free to leave a comment. Find the finished tutorial here: CREDITS Script: @AnonymousAlexa, @LotsOfMuffins, and @MC_BreadStick Voiceover: @FIXER957 Footage: @Tykeandy Graphics: @Tykeandy Editing: @Tykeandy
