It is with utmost worry that the Viscounty of Rivia announces the sudden disappearance of the Viscount, the Right Honorable Lord Charles Galbraith. The last time he was publicly seen was during the night of two saints days ago.

At the same time, as we fear for the worst, the Viscounty of Rivia announces that the Chamberlain of Rivia, Lucius Felix Galbraith, as chief amongst councilors and as His Lordship's most loyal advisor, has assumed the Regency of the Viscounty as Lord Regent until the day the Viscount returns or that he is found to be legally dead. 

  We pray for the Viscount's swift return and for his health as we currently focus all our efforts in finding out his current location. We implore that anyone who may have information regarding this sudden disappearance contacts the Lord Regent of the Viscounty of Rivia as soon as possible.

In addition, the Viscounty of Rivia wishes to announce the recent arrival of His Serene Highness the Prince Emeritus of Savoy, Lucien Ashford de Savoie, who, given his publicly known longtime friendship with the House of Galbraith, has come to pledge his services to the new Lord Regent.

Upon the issuance of this Proclamation, the Lord Regent shall assume the Viscomital Seat of Rivia, including all the duties and responsibilities associated with the Viscounty of Rivia. All the councilors and bannermen of the Viscounty of Rivia shall be expected to reaffirm their oaths of fealty to the Viscomital Seat of Rivia. 

As for the succession in the scenario that the Viscount is found to be legally dead, it has been decreed that his son and rightful heir, Vibius Antonius Galbraith, shall inherit the Viscomital Seat of Rivia once he reaches the age of 25, moment in which he shall be invested as the new Viscount of Rivia. Until such day arrives, the Lord Regent, as the current holder of the Viscomital Seat of Rivia, shall be able to represent, speak and act on behalf of the Heir Apparent Vibius Antonius Galbraith.

And last, but not the least, with this Proclamation the House of Galbraith again hereby affirms their oaths of loyalty and allegiance to the Orenian Crown and to the House of Novellen.

FIRST DAY

“The man has wares, if you have coin.”

Stores are not the only means to gain good coin. In the golden lands of ILLATIA, the markets of traders were abundant. One could walk down a single street, and all in an afternoon’s outing, he’d obtain the night's meal, a tool he may need, and a new pair of shoes! Simple acts such as this also present a sense of community among men – a familiarity of those around them, something deeply embedded within the culture of FLORENTINE. Long have the ILLATIAN PEOPLES found themselves bound by a sense of loyalty and commitment to their fellow man, a sense long gone in the lands we inhabit.

THE PEOPLE OF ILLATIA have always been able to lay aside their differences in times of hardship and conflict over the warmth of a meal. FLORENTINE carries this tradition with the FEAST OF CHAMPIONS, hosted by LA FAMIGLIA FALCONE exclusively for the invitational Champions the night before the race – putting on full display the bond that can be sewn even through competition and providing relaxation before the main event. After all, nothing could be more stressful than butting heads with a rival in the Third Corner – right before a crowd, no less.

SECOND DAY

THE FALCONES serve only two things – family and GOD. Look no further than to the ABBEY OF EXALTED GOFFREDO – the very first structure erected within the city limits proves the family’s loyalty to The One Above All. Mass is open to everyone, no matter your nation of origin. Beginning at the earliest hours of the day, the Abbey is led by local believers who seek to make inside the church's walls a serene, holy grounds of respite. Those not spiritually inclined are encouraged to indulge in the festivities with the company of their kin. Whether it be a hearty discussion over a shared meal or enjoying a good book, let it be with the ones you love. 

“Are you not entertained?!”

THE PARADE OF CHAMPIONS gives spectators the chance to see their most prized steeds, as well as champions personally, unlike anything ever seen before. To show their adoration for their favored champion, spectators are encouraged to offer a gift –  perhaps flowers or coin, anything befitting of the champion themselves. The parade will commence near the city’s fountain near the bridge, and will span to THE FORUM itself shortly before the race, allowing spectators as well as the champions time to prepare for the main event.

The moment all will be anticipating the most – THE INVITATIONAL RACES. The races will be structured in a similar fashion each time with slight variations depending on small factors – the weather, the coming participants, and world affairs. Regardless, it will be a day of merriment, surely. An entrance fee will be required at the door for all spectators – save for the King and his Royal pedigree, of course. This fee will not only help with the upkeep of  THE FORUM, but will be added to the championship pot at the end of the race.

Preamble
Following the martial traditions of old the House of Galbraith and its subjects must henceforth rely upon the staunch boisterous drive of the Rivian individual. It is due time for the formation of an official retinue, a force composed of the men who reside in the area that they shall protect, a band of strong Rivians tasked with the duty of defence. The Rivian Watch is the personal retinue of the Lords of Rivia, composed of a combination of Footmen, Longbowmen and Cavalry detachments. The Watch is tasked with the maintenance and policing of the Viscounty of Rivia. A martial profession is hailed as one of the staples of Rivian life and the most noble of tasks, hence why the creation of a retinue was so integral regarding the future of House Galbraith. For the poorer class service is a way to earn a living, for the more gentile it is an opportunity for social mobility.

The Rivian code is the code by which every man of the Watch must remain stalwart and unyielding in his devotion to, for this is the foundation of their honour.

Captain
Second only to the Viscount himself the Captain’s duty is to lead the Watch with utmost resolve. The Captain of the Watch is the single most important individual within the rank structure occupied with the near sole leadership of the Watch itself. The Captain oversees the promotion and delegation of tasks within the retinue. 

The Master-At-Arms
Tasked primarily with the command of recruitment efforts, the Master-At-Arms is one of the most essential roles that can be occupied. The Master-At-Arms organises trainings, general events and is responsible for the issuing of punishments ranging from flogging to hanging.  

Centenary 
Largely responsible for command on a day to day basis. The Centenaries are tasked with delegating patrols, events and leading groups of men. The Centenary is the backbone of the Officer corp and consists of some of the best leaders in the Watch. 

The Regulars 
 

Sergeant
Seasoned veterans and men of strong stock, The Sergeants are the metaphorical  whip wielded by the Master-At-Arms. They carry out the disciplinary actions most necessary within the Watch. Largely responsible for keeping the men in line and frequently leading small groups of men, the rank of Sergeant is populated by the aspiring leaders within the force. 

Man-At-Arms
The skilled backbone of the Watch,  fulfilling the role of the heavy infantry, skilled bowmen or agile Scout. They are the reliable men in which large amounts of trust is placed into by their commander. 

Footman
The most populated of all the ranks in the Watch, A footman is expected to fulfil his duty to the best of his ability and greatly prove himself to ascend the ranks.

Recruit
Being the fresh recruits to the band, yet to prove themselves they are given the most inexpensive equipment, while Recruits are not paid they are provided with housing and tend to be the most eager to prove their worth in the eyes of their superiors.

The Kingstide Hunt group in front of the defeated and burning anomaly

Many rallied the last ‘eve in Vienne’s town square with His Majesty, King Frederick, to participate in the Kingstide Hunt. The group consisted of both children and adults, women and men. As soon as the Lord Commander, Hannes de Vilain showed up, the group set off south on their horses towards Lower Petra to commence the hunt.

As the group approached an intersection, they felt an uneasy feeling. A cold sensation came across them and any exposed skin would feel pinched. Some pulled out their weapons, others stayed put, wondering what would happen next. Suddenly, a mysterious woman, naming herself as one ‘Isabel from Haense’, came out of the forest towards the group, declaring that she heard many whispers and apparitions. As the group vicariously approached this crazed woman, another girl - almost from the shadows - appeared in front of them, similar in look and identified as ‘Mischa’, of which the Inquisitor-General and the Lord Viceroy were both familiar with.

What happened next was only surreal. The King and his honormen questioned her of what lay further in the canopy, yet, when the Inquisitor-General approached her, he was immediately carried by a snap of the tree’s roots. It was alive, moving at any who approached this woman. The King’s honormen quickly freed the Basrid, realizing that she was likely POSESSED BY THE WENDIGO. The men were quick to apprehend the possessed woman to test her with Aurum, however, the WENDIGO SPIRIT attacked once more, trapping the Lord Commander, the Baron.

But the King would tolerate no more. In an illustrious fashion akin to Owyn’s rebirth at Edel, the monarch’s sword, Conquest, blazened and illuminated the night sky, attacking the root of the tree. Quickly did it tarnish the feral beast, setting great fire to the construct, and rendering it ill and void.

However, it seems the spirit of Owyn warranted the King’s miracle, for the flame did not burn the forest down, instead merely ascending the tree’s leaves, sparing its bark. Of course, His Majesty was blessed with the flame’s presence, for it was His grace that saved his honormen, and the children, today.

FOR THE FOLK OF OREN, BEWARE OF THE WENDIGO OF DOBROV, WHICH LURKS IN THE FORESTS. IT WILL WHISPER IN YOUR EAR, AND IN YOUR VOICE, BUT DO NOT BE AFRAID, FOR OWYN WATCHES US ALL.

            His Lordship, Vincent Keen Baron of Ames and Her Imperial Highness, Victoria Augusta Novellen, the Countess of Carolustadt, after taking advantage of several years of privacy with them, are pleased to introduce their children to the realm!             Finally, due to the introduction of twins to the family line, there has been concern over which of the two shall become the head of the household and inherit the title of Baron of Ames. In the cold air of the summer’s breeze. My eyes gazed upon my family. And in their stead, I saw a pyre. In ages of light, pyres are synonymous with death. With loss and reckoning. In ages of dark, they are seen as bastions of warmth. Of cleansing. Of renewal. Though I am not some scholar to denote our times as light or dark, the pyre that I see before me is of the latter sort.

Mighty Owyn. His flames coursing through the dark. Filling the streets. Filling my heart. Lashes of heat whip about, cleansing those spirits who might be lost. In Canonism I found love. It was a cool love. A comforting one. I felt myself safe and secure in the grasp of GOD. Though Canonism alone could not stem the coming storm.

Our cathedrals torn asunder by wicked demons from the deep. Our lands plagued by bandits and butcherings. Beasts clawing out from the shadows of wicked woods. War driving brother against brother. If Canonism was gentle warming hope, then our adversaries were frigid icy despair. What could melt such a formidable foe?

New litanies ring through my ears, spoken on the wind by blessed men of Faith. Their words echo mighty Owyn’s response to our cries.
 

I knelt before the flames, my eyes enraptured by their power and glory. I spoke frigidly, an avatar of the dark, and the Lectors spoke with his very teachings, bringers of the light:

“What will you do against our plight?”

TO THE DARKNESS I BRING FIRE.

“How will you deliver us to salvation?”

TO THE IGNORANT I BRING FAITH.

“Will you protect us against the coming storm?”

My hand rests upon my heart. I remember the sermon like it was yesterday. Though I was a Canonist at the core, frigid times require fiery men. The White Flame will see us through.

Before me I see a pyre. Of rebirth. Of renewal. I experienced it some time ago, and now I was extending it to those I loved. My family, my kin. Giving themselves to the pyre. Though soot and ash did not mark upon their brow. Instead, the love of GOD marked them as bastions of his light.

It is with great joy and exuberance that the Margrave of Grodno Maciej Jazloviecki and Margravine-consort Ottilie Franziska Jazloviecki announce the birth of their couplet to much surprise. The children were born on 5th of Malin's Welcome in the year 1878 upon a bleak night; their presence a thankful one after several hours of hard accouchement. Both were doted over by friends and family of the couple and remain in good health alongside the Lady Margravine.

The firstborn and heir-apparent to the March of Grodno, Lord Borys Lukács, is named after the Margrave's late father Borys III and the Magravine-consort’s grandfather Lukács Drăghicescu, bearing likeness to his mother’s features with his fair hair. The youngest of the pairing, Lady Walentyna Stasia, is regarded as holding her father’s temperament from the minute of her arrival. The twin Jazloviecki’s are the first of their household to be born under the Kingdom of Oren since their immigration from Savoy nearly a decade ago. The prestige of Lechian culture prevails onward with the newest generation. May GOD bless them with the fruitfulness of health and everlasting merriment.

As the previous gathering at Chateau d'Aiguillon failed to attract any suitors for her sister, The Honorable Baroness of Artois cordially invites the noblemen of Oren to a riveting joust and melee tournament to win the hand of Lady Anneliese Halcourt. Men of Orenian noble stock are eligible to participate in the skirmish, or they may choose to have a Champion fight for them, with the former obviously being more impressive. In the event a man is crowned victor of the joust, whomever he may be, he will not need to pay a dowry for his betrothal, as he has already, hopefully, paid by risking his life to secure the engagement.

The tourney is to be held in the month of Sun’s Smile in the year 1877, in the Claudian Grounds of Vienne.

The rules of the tourney are simple, failure to follow or adhere to the rules issued by the Baroness will result in immediate disqualification. 

• It is a requirement that participants are of noble stock.
• Each Nobleman can nominate one or more Champions to represent him in the series of tourneys if he pleases, one for the melee, and one for the joust.
• As such, each man will need to bring their own equipment and/or provide their Champions with it, as it will not be supplied by the Baroness.

With the halls of Azor being opened, guests of the entire kingdom are invited to attend the function of excitement over the persimmon themed picnic hosted by Mariana d’Azor.

PERSIMMON PICKING

The County of Azor implores the guests to take part in the harvest that is to happen right at the time of the soiree. Baskets shall be passed out and whatever fruit is plucked from the trees is able to be taken home for everyone to enjoy a harvest of fresh fruit.

PECULIAR PICNIC

Within the garden there will be blankets set up and areas for milling around to enjoy food, drinks, and company of the other guests. The food shall be that which is found locally, from the Azor gardens and that of hunted wild game from the valleys and forests which surround the keep.

PLAYFUL PASSTIMES

At the picnic, several games will be set up for the entertainment of the guests. There will be horseshoe throwing, hide and seek, a scavenger hunt and more planned for the duration of the day throughout the picnic. Each of these games will be run by the servants and available throughout the picnic.

Therefore it is with much exhilaration we pronounce our product, which has to offer your taste buds an experience unwitnessed before. The bottle is luxuriously  readied, proudly sealed with the distinct features of the dynasty. Upon unlatching the cork, one’s nose and sense of smell is to be overwhelmed with the captivating scent, few of whom are the honeyed and fruity flavours, from sugary plums to tart blackberries, yet one could even upon tasting flair the herbal notes of chamomile and clove combined with undertones of cocoa and vanilla. The merlot is of middling acidity, yet full-bodied. A true example of brilliant handiwork.

It is with pride that the House of Ashford de Falstaff announces the recent nuptials between His Excellency, the Baron of Guise, and The Honourable Lady, Johanna Elizabeth. After the marital fallout of the Baron’s former companion, a union facilitated in his naive youth for largely political reasons, the two solidified their concord over past camaraderie during the Chancellor’s many visits to Royal court.

The marriage was performed by the Lectors of Felder’s Rock, in a traditional Owynist rite: featuring a holy flame, Falstaff and Basridi heirlooms, and exchanged vows. The ceremony was done in private, with invitations to Their Majesties, the Privy Councillors, and shared friends of the couple.

Upon the advent of the guests they are to formally meet the hostesses and be the first to taste the Corwinsburg Merlot, product of Alstreim Vineyards. After entering the residence, the servants are to present trays of exotic dishes, refreshments of remote origins and bowls of fruit. Thereafter the visitants are to engage in chatter and mingling amidst each other.

The ceremony will commence at the Chapel of St. Alexander, located in Castile under the watchful eyes of God before retiring to Grodno at his Lordship’s tavern, The Blue Bonnet, for a complimentary evening filled with Jazloviecki brewery. REQUIREMENT OF MASKS IN THE BARONY OF AMES

         As most have probably been informed, there is currently a very dangerous disease spreading throughout our beloved Kingdom. In an attempt to assist with the mitigation of the risk involved with the disease known as "The Rot", "The Melt", "Bloodrot", and "Brainrot", the Barony of Ames is, until further notice, requiring the wearing of a cloth mask at all times within it's area of influence.

         In addition to wearing the mask at all times, whenever possible it is recommended that a distance of two meters be kept between all nearby individuals. Should these precautions fail or were brought about too late to affect an individual's infection with the disease, please inform the Lord Castellan of Castle Puremont Baldovino Navarro by bird immediately. You will be assisted in finding accomodations for remaining quarantined from others until a medical professional may check on your condition.

         Please note that this decision was not made lightly, and it was determined to be the best course of action due to the regular travel of those residing within Ames with more populous areas such as the capital city of Vienne. By following these practices we hope to avoid any dire consequences that may come from contracting the disease and return to our usual way of life as soon as possible.

 Under the watchful eye of King Frederick I the union of Sir Aleksandr Basrid, Count of Susa and Lady Sophie Pruvia has come to be. On the fourteenth day of the month of Sun’s Smile the pair were joined in a traditional Campagnois wedding- in the forest of Mardon, under the privacy of the Pruvian woods in which their sacred wedding rite is usually held -with dynasts from both families and the bride’s niece and nephew acting as a flower girl and ring bearer respectively.

The pair recited their nuptial vows under an arch of sacred hawthorn blooms, the wedlock overseen by the Cardinal Albarosa. The prepared rings were then bestowed to each of the two and the small gathering in attendance bestowed their excitement for the newlyweds.

The bride then spilled the Valerian powder from her chalice onto the floor, in accordance with Campagnois culture, allowing her new husband to lead her across and through the few pews of people gathered to view their sacred union. Henceforth, she shall never practice another of her customs again, for her efforts will be in the tradition of the rhenyari.

Through the recent years despite the trying times that have erupted across Almaris, the lands of Azor flow rich with gold, jewels and finery abound. In celebration of this newfound success, Azor will open its halls for the first time in over a decade to the public for citizens of The Kingdom of Oren and across the realm to partake in revelry, festivities and joyous merriment. The Gardens of Azor have produced an ever plentiful bounty from this summer’s harvest and it is wished to be shared amongst the peers and company of Orenians alike.

GRAPE STOMPING COMPETITION

With the latest grape harvest comes the need for wining and dining amongst the echelons of Orenia. To have everyone feel apart of the process of making the wine, there will be a grape stomping competition. The person to stomp the most grapes in the specified amount of time will win fifty mina.

FEAST OF THE HARVEST
In the Gardens of Azor, there will be a large feast hosted with foods relating to that of this seasons harvest being served along with the finest of animals being imported for roasts. Servants shall serve the meal as a grand evening has been prepared by the House of d'Azor for the milling around the gardens rather than the traditional and dated way of feasts at tables to encourage socialization. At the start of the feast, the men will be given orange blossom corsages to deliver to the ladies they favor after an evening of conversation. (Children will be given ‘make your own garden kits’ to make with their friends.)

CHEESELAND TEA PARTY

During the Feast of the Harvest, the children of the kingdom have a different soiree on their plans. Mariana Antionette d’Azor shall be hosting a tea party amongst the children of the Kingdom of Oren as her first ever event going into society. The tea party shall have all sorts of sweets that are favored by the Orenian youth and other games such as hide and seek played after.

Less than a decade ago, me, family and friends loyal to my name for generations, lived in our beloved Savoy. My father, our pride and leader, passed away unexpectedly. At that time already, the merciful God gave me the sceptre of power as Lord Regent of Lvinsk. I never hid my anger that while I was wasting the years of my youth, the rightful ruler, my elder brother Stanislaw was having fun somewhere away. It took him a year to return home, for a year our father's corpse had already decomposed, and it was only after that time that he dared to return. Disgraceful was the past of my brother, who wanted to call himself a "restorer". I faithfully followed his path, as it was destined for me by birthright. Once we have settled on our new land, given to us by our beloved King Frederick, I was chosen by Stanislaw to begin my term in the office as the venerable Komes. Less than a decade of slowly getting used to the new realities, and Stanislaw now lies dead. 

In the absence of any descendant from his blood I raise the sceptre and the Margrave's coronet in his stead. Knowing what was the life of my late brother, I additionally disinherit and exclude from the line of succession possible bastards of Stanislaw I Jazloviecki. I appoint my friend and faithful ally, Masashi Iekami, to take the place as my Komes. Let it be known that I am not my brother, nor my father - I will fear no evil and raise my sword against anyone who wishes to harm my family or the holy Canonist Church. Today marks the beginning of a new era for my House and the March. I will keep every one of my promises now and in the future, so help me God.

❃ The day shall begin with the hoisting of a freshly caught sturgeon from the river Sabari onto the great table, followed by its preparation in the open air with oils and spices endemic only to imports from the isle of Rhen. All guests shall participate in the preparation. 

❃ Thereafter, lades will be led to the picnic stations where they shall prepare plates of ruhdrian clay from the wastes of Savoy, while the men heat the flames to cook the sturgeon.

❃ Plates done and fish fried, the feast will commence! Wine will flow, and merriment shall be had for all.

In honor of the recent matrimonial proceedings between His Lordship, Vincent Keen Baron of Ames and Her Imperial Highness, Victoria Augusta Novellen, the Countess of Carolustadt, the staff of Castle Puremont are hosting celebratory festivities!

To begin the festivities, all guests will be guided to the Puremont Chapel for a sermon regarding the sanctity of holy matrimony. Following the sermon, a jousting tournament for the entertainment of Her Imperial Highness shall commence on the Puremont Fairgrounds. The winner of the tournament shall receive the honorary title of  'Champion of the Ivory Alps,' along with a signifying signet ring. Any knight of the realm may compete for the title. Additional individuals wishing to compete must receive the sponsorship of an Orenian peer or their household. Noble sponsors must send a letter to the Lord Castellan of Castle Puremont, Baldovino Navarro indicating their intent to sponsor a competitor. (see below)

Once a victor has been decided, all invited guests shall be welcomed in the dining hall to partake in a grand banquet, with entertainment provided by the illustrious Clown Lord of Vienne, Ben Jones.

A prestige of honor has graced the Castiles this season within the Kingdom of Oren. To commemorate the Baronet of Castile on his most recent achievements, the young Lady Castile invites all noblemen and commoners alike to join the Sedanian household at their newfound estate for a celebratory evening. The joyous festivities are predicted to occur all night long, allowing the opportunity for guests to seek conversation with their fellow man whilst enjoying food and alcoholic beverages.

Upon the occasion, some high-spirited dancing to bring out the merriment of all, whilst numerous rounds of dueling may be on the cards as light entertainment for those interested, courtesy of the Baronet of Castile himself. TO THE CITIZENRY OF OREN, 

TH Baroness of Artois cordially summons the loyal men of Frederick I to a soirée at her in-city manor in honour of the name day of her sister, Lady Anneliese, to potentially find a suitable husband for her. Those in attendance are requested to adorn their best evening clothes, drinks and small finger foods will be provided to graze upon throughout the night while guests are invited to make conversation.

Should any noble folk who attend wish to bring along their own concessions, they would be most welcome. A space will be cleared among the tables for any food, drink, or otherwise that those may wish to donate.

M E N U

In addition to the following foods and beverages, a selection of alcoholic drinks will be provided at the soirée’s occurrence

Black Tea

Particularly stronger than other brews, the black tea is made from the dried leaves of a tea shrub. The flavours found in black teas are earthy and spicy, yet some caramel and honey notes can be tasted throughout the beverage. 

Fermented Tea

Poured from a pitcher of tea that has gone under fermentation for several months, this deep ochre tea is tart and makes your lips pucker. Though it can range in many flavours such as: fruity, floral, spicy, or herbaceous. It is surely an acquired taste. 

Gooseberry Pie Squares

A tart, grape flavour permeates the filling of the gooseberry pie. Despite being classified as a sweet dessert, these berries have a sharp bitterness to them.

Rhubarb Cracker

Rhubarb jam is spread across a small square slice of hard bread, tasting of a honeyed tang. A fine dusting of powdered sugar would complement the jam perfectly.

Spiced Apple Crumble Custard Tart 

With thin apple slices neatly laid across, filling the tart is a simple homemade vanilla custard. Cinnamon and nutmeg give the tart its nutty and sweet taste while providing a brown colour to the apple ridges. 

Cheese and Chive Flatbread

Topping this distinctive cheese would be melted garlic-infused butter infused with bold, tangy flavouring. On top of the blue cheese, minced chives would be strewn to increase its taste and colour. The bread was cooked to perfection, crisp on the edges and soft in the middle. 

Cucumber Tea Sandwich

With its crustless sides and bite-sized nature, the cucumber tea sandwich makes for a splendidly light and refreshing snack. Inside, a thick and creamy cheese spread was coated on the inner sides of the white bread, sprinkled with dill and chives, and finely sliced cucumbers were arranged tidily within the sandwich.

     Following an unassailable courtship between the newly titled Baron of Ames and the ever so prestigious Countess of Carolustadt, the two have decided to officially wed. The pair were joined in holy matrimony upon the golden evening of the 11th of Godfrey’s Triumph in the Barony of Ames where a small ensemble of close friends and relatives gathered to bear witness to the ceremony. 

     We pray that God guides and blesses them as they embark on this most joyous path.
