  1. “Aaun’s definition of gossip is ridiculing their own dead king and lazy jabs at the rulers of the realm? What a waste of good material!” Willem sighed and tossed the article to his sister. “I hope this is Stassion propaganda and the boy-king’s stupidity hasn't spread to his citizens, but with a title like that...”

  2. let’s not pretend the absence of st nodes has ruined “mining rp”. material nodes had players acting insane for rocks. they’re gonna be handed out through events and we'll see how that goes. there’s plenty of materials on this map right now, players just don’t like sharing.

The change that I'd like to see and what I believe everyone should be wanting in particular is lore material nodes for things that are lower in popularity due to the disparity in strength it has in combat

    these already exist

And AH is not a spoon-fed staff solution, it's a plugin for player enjoyment. That is the top priority for the server.

AH plugin was removed bc it interfered with player enjoyment so idk what this means. As I said, an auction house exists! You can go sell and buy stuff right now, its just not organized by staff and pushes interactions. dont like it? you can organize your own. if buying and selling items on a screen alone is how you get your enjoyment, maybe a multiplayer rp server isnt the best idea. its like playing a shooter and asking the devs to make the other team stay still so you can shoot them easier.

The server is also a game, sometimes quality of life mechanics needs to prioritised. Should soulstones be removed for the "rp challenge?".

the "its a game" reasoning still doesnt explain why a global AH is needed. skyrim doesnt have an amazon delivery service because talking to merchants is too much work. that would take away from the game. what it DOES have is a fast travel system. soulstones make interacting with other players more accessible for a multiplayer roleplay game, thats what lotc is. AH doesn't, its a way to avoid playing the game.

regional auction houses with basic mats would be a good middle ground, i dont think it takes away from rp and makes trading more accessible. wdyt?

Personally I hate going around to different nations peddling stuff, even if one time i did make like 200 mina in a day from it. I find it very tedious and demotivating.

hire employees to do it for you

some of the complaints im seeing have roleplay answers. a grand exchange auction house DOES exist (@Ewdrawings) , except its not reliant on staff and you have to interact with other players to use it. its lazy to complain about lack of merchant rp and then not make the effort to partake in it. we should embrace rp challenges, not erase them for spoonfed staff solutions

Maybe corc's youth tries to work against a necros aging and in turn the body deteriorates and slowly they become outwardly more undead! or maybe the more the wither the more undead they appear, idk, just since the player is stuck between eventually having two feeding mechanics be placed on em, give em a small rewards or a unique flavor.

    this guys on to something

Princess Lumia rolled her eyes before tossing the paper into the canal and carrying on about her day.

Willem the Wise erupts from the waters like a dolphin. "I AM NOT YOUR TRASHBIN!" He declared, throwing the soggy missive back at her before diving back into the canal.

My reasoning had been Tawkin applications require Lifeforce in-order to fuel them in their lorepage, which Necromancers constantly lose due to the wound inflicted on their soul, I wanted to give more credence to relying on Necromantic solutions like the Draught of Incite which isn't lore conflicting

i didnt realize there was a lore reasoning behind the choice, thats cool. maybe upping the longevity of the incite draught? a week vs a day (and the easier recipe) leaves tawkin mutations as the way more convenient choice

  8. the weekly alchemy reapplications for appearance should be scrapped imo. give necros a reason to use their draught of incite, which achieves the same effect. theres also no simple way to check if someone has actually been reapplying tawkin mutations properly and they are very easy to cheese, which would lead back to the problem of loopholing mechanics.

    good stuff otherwise

to the people freaking over the romance, you can always just make a different character and do romance rp there if its so essential to your lotc experience. people pooping their pants over this should look within and reflect!!

  9. Willem studied the missive with a growing frown. “They called him a man at first, I certainly wasn’t playing with toys at his age. Now they call him a child. I wonder what the Stassions will turn this poor fellow into next.”

He sighed, setting the missive down. “All this bickering… and for what? Staining his memory with the blood of more innocents will fix nothing.”

The barkeep awkwardly nodded along, unsure why this man was rambling to him.

probably cause most gringos on here dont do spanglish right and treat it like haensespeak. it IS tricky and there’s regional differences and i don’t expect anyone to learn a language for RP but when done wrong it’s obvious to native speakers (and you sound like a hack). the google translate is fine, lotcers love to complicate things

  11. Blood Magic Additions

Addition to Abilities - Blood Rites:

-Ritual modifiers only apply in the presence of additional mages beyond what is required. For example, if a ritual requires three blood mages, a modifier would only begin to apply on a fourth additional mage. A mage conducting a ritual alone receives no modifiers.

    Context:

    Spoiler

When conducting a ritual that requires a roll in order to succeed and trigger its desired effect ritualists may use the following chart to add to the roll. However, no amount of stabilizing and preparation can force fate, and a roll of 1 will always result in failure no matter the modifier. Ritual modifiers only apply in the presence of additional mages beyond what is required. For example, if a ritual requires three blood mages, a modifier would only begin to apply on a fourth additional mage. A mage conducting a ritual alone receives no modifiers. It is the responsibility of the player leading the ritual to inform the ST event actor overseeing the ritual of the proper number to add. To lie is to powergame.

Addition to Summoning Rituals - Hail:

-Attempting this ritual without additional reagents connected to a specific object/entity leaves the results to chance. Invoking the aengudaemonic requires even greater sacrifice, typically objects or relics linked to deities or their realms.

    Context:

    Spoiler

Entities from other planes such as inferi as well as specific, named creatures or objects can also be summoned but with much less reliability. First the blood mages must use additional reagents to assist in describing the entity or object such as ritualistic offerings or the blood of specific race or creature; additionally, this requires ST manager approval. An example of this might be metal, divinity, sacrosanctum, power, and life to summon a reever of Garumdir that requires the blood of an artisan and the burning of alchemical reagents. Such additional offerings are nigh always improvised. Attempting this ritual without additional reagents connected to a specific object/entity leaves the results to chance. Invoking the aengudaemonic requires even greater sacrifice, typically objects or relics linked to deities or their realms. Note that the ST are by no means obligated to approve any or all requests of this nature and are not obligated to explain their reasoning. Summoning specific entities also entails a normal event PK clause should non-immortal characters perish after the ritual succeeds as well as requires an additional blood mage of at least tier 3.

    Purpose:

    Spoiler

Small tweaks that will hopefully push more blood magic interactions. The intent is to encourage mages to incorporate more people into rituals as well as making it more difficult to cheese the roll modifiers. The second addition is my attempt to get people who use the hail ritual to put more roleplay behind what they’re doing instead of just slapping their wrist on the floor for lunarite.

And likewise anyone but ST should be able to force people in getting disconnected from any magic. Indeed, you are not forced to play x magic but why at the same time people could force you to get disc from it and **** you over completely?? It's a goddman block game, why do these things need to be so hardcore lol. Don't tell me "consequences". It's not the victim who decides it but the people who gank them.

Speaking honestly as an ST, I don't think we are impartial enough to decide who gets disconnected. There are many communities I'm unfamiliar with, and its unfair for randoms like myself who have zero context to be the ones deciding what happens to those communities. And don't forget that st are players too. We have people on our team whose characters might benefit from someone else being disconnected. Maybe they just don't like em. Its a can of worms in the end, and the lesser of the evils imo is letting communities police themselves

As for rp losses, I don't think you can always ascribe victims. To give an example, if mystic A screws over mystic B, and mystic B disconnects mystic A, didn't the "victim" start the chain of events that would get them disconnected in the first place? That's kinda the nature of consequences: by choosing an action, you accept its consequence.

  13. this amendments a bit pointless with ooc consent, players just ask to get their app denied when they really wanna drop a magic. letting necromancers retire from a life of murder and evil is weird. if anything, it should be more punishing if it requires ooc consent, not less.

the "but my slots :(" arguments make no sense, if you want something else just make a new character and move on. nobody can force anyone to play a magic.

you can mark it as noncombative if you dont intend for this mart to be for combat
