I was born in 1745, a few years after the Conquest of Ruswick began. I was born in the city of Haense, though my family didn’t stay there for long. My mother liked to stay on the move, so for the next five years my mother, sister, and I traveled the countryside. Mother worked by transporting goods, such as alcohol and wheat. Most of the time we transported goods to the Cloud Temple, where my sister could play while mother knew she was going to be safe, while I stayed with mother since I was very little still. The last time mother transported goods was to Gladewyn, and after that mother finally decided to settle down in Haense. Something must have spooked her. Maybe she was just thinking about granddad and his past and how he had fought in so many wars. I know I do. He fought in the two Emperor war. He bled in that war, but he did not die, I know that for sure. Mom said he died getting attacked by a group of dwarves while he was chopping fire wood. When I turned 10 I asked mom what happened to dad. She said something about him being a bandit and having an obligation to help his fellow bandits against the conquest. Sometimes mom and my sister talked about Arca’s history. I listened to them talking about elves formed upon the 8th of The Grand Harvest. I sat there while mom explained what the Voidal Tear was and when the first one formed. Mom started to cry when she talked about the Three-Month war, because that was when Grandma died. A year before I turned 18, a fire broke out in our home. I got out by jumping through the window, but the roof caved in before mom and my sister could get out. I was taken in by a tavern owner, where I worked and drank sorrowfully at. Now that I am 18, I have decided to open a tavern. I haven’t decided where to put it, but wherever it is, it will be home to anyone in need of a drink and a ear to talk to.
