Since then, both ladies have grown into exceptional young women, full of potential. To celebrate the last year of childhood before they enter their teenage years, the VISCOUNTY OF ZVEZLUND invites all friends and extended family to share in this joy and honor the young heiresses’ birthdays with a party, to be held within QUEEN’S CROSSING.

FESTIVITIES WILL INCLUDE, AT the behest of the birthday girls: paper boat racing in the river, dancing and revelry, and a large array of sweets and pastries, made by Lady Selyne herself.

Juniper, far, far away, read over a letter with shaky hands. It was long, and there were plenty of reassuring and comforting phrases.

"I'm so sorry."     "I didn't want to leave you,"     "I love you, and I miss you-"     "You are my closest friend, and I care for you immeasurably."      

But the words were blurred by tears, and Juniper could only make out one thing.

Despite only being a mere eleven years old, Esfir Artemisia, granddaughter of the great Amaya, felt a new drive; one that contrasted her usual carefree nature. "One day..." The girl vowed as she cradled the necklace her grandmother had gifted her, "One day Ea will be able to make Hauchmamej proud.... Ea will protect people like she protected mea.."

Juniper quickly takes to pen a missive in response on behalf of Yera. Hers, she decides, will not be written in piss yellow ink.

IN RESPONSE TO THE DEMON SERMI

THE LATEST MISSIVE WRITTEN by the known demon, Sermi, is a desperate attempt at smearing the name of Overlord Yera and the peaceful Commerce State of Kaethul following events that have transpired most recently.

THE INFERAL DEMON SERMI had her assets were seized and her nest uprooted in a combined effort with the Iron Horde.

I HAVE REQUESTED AND signed a pact with the Canonist Church. They are allowed to patrol my lands, perform tests for darkspawn as they see fit, and purge any warlocks, vampires, demons, associates of the inferi, or undead they find plaguing the lands.

Juniper, upon hearing the news, shut herself away in her room for some time. She allowed herself to grieve in silence, away from any nature she may harm; a small, temporary favor she could offer the fallen woman.

”….You were good to me,” Juniper murmured, staring up at the ceiling. She closed her eyes, reminiscing the times in Elysium Floria had protected her; the times in Celia’nor Floria had taken her side, and the times in Helious where Floria had taken her in when she had nowhere else to go.

When Juniper opened her eyes again, there were tears. “Rest well, Floria. You were a good mother to me.”

Liridona, longtime friend and cousin of the Queen, welcomed Amaya to the Seven Skies with a joyful embrace. “Oh, vy were wonderful, Amaya!” She chirped upon their reunion. “Spasiba for having been part of mea life for so long. Welcome home.”

“What’s going on?” A confused Esfir whispered in confusion, glancing about the crowd who had gathered. 

A solemn Ioanna Kortrevich answered the girl. She broke the news that would destroy the tiny Amador’s world. “Your grandmother…- your..- your hauchmamej… She has gone to the Seven Skies.”

“HAUCHMAMEJ!”

Esfir did not remember much after that. She remembered running. She remembered crying. She remembered kneeling in the dirt as she wailed; begging, praying that her dear grandmother would somehow rise again from the flowers, as she had always done. She had always risen. The Amador girl had been told what death meant. She knew what it meant for her great-aunt Liridona and aunt Poppiya to return to Godan’s embrace… but how could Hauchmamej? How could she leave without a chance to say goodbye, without one last hug?

For the rest of that night, all Esfir could do was cry in the arms of her family, praying that maybe her grandmother, the great Amaya of Venzia, was holding her too.
