Hey man though I never got to know you, I find you story highly relatable. I guess now that I look back on it LOTC does teach you a few lessons especially when it comes to being social. However, I feel like a lot of people use LOTC to fill a lack of social interaction in real life. To anyoneone reading this who  doesn't  have many IRL friends and haven't really taken a break longer than 6 months please do trust me you will realize it once you do. After quitting the server in August 2022 I noticed that I was able to achieve many social goals that I had. I have had a lot of new experiences and have made a lot of new friends as well as I have noticed that my physical fitness improved similar to your situation. Best of luck in your endeavors going forward I hope that you are able to achieve your goals and live a fulfilling life!

Just like in the real world the experiences of a character can shape their beliefs on certain issues. If roleplayed correctly a character can be homophobic because of negative interactions with LGBTQ individuals.

But I think homophobia is fine as long as there isn't any OOC prejudice involved. Same for sexism, racism whateverism etc. This should be left up for moderator discretion on a case by case basis, Hopefully multiple moderators can come to a consenus on every case as this is could be a very subjective issue.

I think just shifting back to having checks like on Almaris would solve pretty much all of the realm bloat we've been seeing.

imo Having more decentralized RP is overall more of a benefit then having like 1 or 2 main player bases and everything else having no-one, granted its all about finding a good balance.

This is a cycle I garuntee you as soon as we go back to activity checks everyone will complain about them and then eventually checks are removed and realm bloat happens

What are your retrospective thoughts on the new war system, raiding overhaul, infractions overhaul, and crp default? 

Also thank you for being admin for our server I know at times members of the community me included may have been vocal about certain rulings you made but you did a lot for the server and moved it in a positive direction.

Statement from the Mayor's Office:

A flood occured in Whitespire last month causing great damage to the city and rendering the majority of the city uninhabitable for the time being. The mayor would like to thank the selfless efforts of many citizens of the city for their actions saving many lives.

With the tragic events that have occured in our beloved city of Whitespire the City council was summoned by the mayor to release a set of emergency measures to aid our great city in the recovery process from such disaster. The mayor's office has released a set of resoloutions to reduce the risk of further damage to life and property.

Resolution 1: The city council has approved Motion 316 Declaring a state of Emergency until the 5th of Amber Cold 1944. With this motion further access to the city to civilian personnel will be denied based on the discretion of the Royal government, The City Council, the Mayor's Office, and the City Watch. Food, water and Medicine shall be distributed to citizens who are in need of such supplies please seek out the mayor's office currently located in Merryweather for assistance. The city watch will be dispatched to account for survivors and to assist refugees. The Steward's office shall be tasked with collecting census data and repairing any damages sustained by the flood. Citizens shall be exempt from paying any taxes until the state of emergency is over. The city government requests assistance from foreign and domestic actors to help manage the situation please write a letter to the mayor Onas Daesmon to assist our efforts. Sir Leopold Haverlock and the Mayor Onas Daesmon are given emergency powers to ensure the safety of the city and can make decisions to ensure the immediate safety of Whitespire's citizens. The gates to the city may be closed at any time to stop the entry of unauthorized individuals.

Resolution 2: A sewer shall be constructed in the city of Whitespire to prevent a future flood from affecting our city as such the water shall be drained and released back into the ocean preventing a flood. The city shall seek assistance in building this system from the royal government and the church of the Cannon.

Resolution 3: The city council hereby authorizes the creation of a city watch to help protect and aid the city in times of disaster. The first Lord Commander of the city watch shall be Sir Leopold Haverlock. ( @Sebbysc ) Upon the vacancy of the office the city council shall vote on the next Lord Commander. The City Watch shall act as the main Law Enforcement agency of Whitespire municipality as well as be able to respond to any crisis the city faces. Documentation outline the city watch shall be released to the public soon from the office of the Lord Commander. 

The cities medical office shall be reviewed to ensure that it is able to operate in the event of a crisis.

Under current decree Citizens are restricted from entering the City Center of Whitespire due to the ongoing flooding. Violating this decree may result in the arest of the violator. All Citizens are able to reside in Merryweather for the duration of the State of Emergency or may reside in any of the houses in the Apple Bee or Conkerhove districts of Whitespire.

It seems that every other week there is some controversy on this server 😭

But yeah I do feel like from personal experience there is a problem with moderators/admins responding to situations where they are needed. I have had a lot of incidents where I have needed the help of a moderator where either a moderator never responded to the situation or they took the ticket/report and didn't really resolve the incident.  I've had to reach out to administration about incidents that I have been involved in that would require administration or management review and typically I do get an initial response but eventually communication does break down. 

But also all of the admins and especially Itdontmatta have a lot on their plate to handle at all times. Itdontmatta has done a lot for the server and has been the best moderation admin in recent memory by far. More likely that not issues with upper management are probaly not resolved because the admins are to busy dealing with something else. 

Congrats on 2 years I haven't played on the server a lot recently but we made some good memories together

What circumstances led to this ban?

I returned to the server after a 3-week break on July 9th upon returning I noticed that Lunar Client was performing poorly during PVP fights. This lead me to switch to feather client which allowed for third-party mods to be installed. One of these mods was Xareos mini-map which included an Entity radar that listed other players on the mini-map. I had a few incidents with Orlanth in which he had broken some conflict rules relating to Halt Emotes. I subsequently reported Orlanth after dealing with his actions multiple times. Orlanth had counter-reported me stating that I had used a mini-map that allowed me to see other players. I was not immediately banned and multiple moderators had viewed both reports. Until the next day when Aiden banned me.

Are there aspects of the ban you agree and/or disagree with?

I will preface this section by acknowledging that I did indeed use a radar that allows me to see other players However, this radar does not allow me to see other players that are sneaking or that are out of render distance. I also do agree that at the time I needed a long break from LOTC, especially with all the toxic events that occurred in the summer of 2022. And in a way, I am appreciative that I was not on the server for the harvest revolution as from what I have heard that was a really bad environment to be in.

Now, there is a lot about this ban and the overall handling of the situation by the moderation team that I disagree with. There has been a lack of professionalism demonstrated by Aiden when handling this matter. First of all, the reason "Use of Mini-Map mod" implies that mini-maps are disallowed on the server. So basically I should not be banned at all if we are to go off of the reason that he banned me.
Second, Aiden is friends with Orlanth and I believe that he should have not been involved in this incident at all as there were plenty of other moderators that are much more impartial to both me and Orlanth to review this case. I believe that Aiden also acted on his own and did not collaborate with other moderators on this case. He banned me of his own accord in support of his friend Orlanth. This is further backed up by the fact that he did not close the report that Orlanth had filed on me and it took almost 5 months for that report to be closed by a member of staff who had to find out what had happened. Speaking of which why didn't Aiden close Orlanths report after he had banned me? I believe that Aiden either was too lazy to close the report or he did not want to publicly release the fact that I had been banned. I believe that Aiden also gave an unreasonably strict punishment. A 14-day ban with an appeal is quite ridiculous for this offense. An appeal especially seems a bit far-fetched for an offense of this nature. Furthermore, I believe that Aiden handled this situation a lot differently than what other moderators would have done in this situation here we can see that in the screenshots provided a player was using Xareos mini-Map with the default settings enabled. The player did not receive any action from the moderation team. It took the moderation team just under 5 months to review the reports related to this incident. This is a question for the moderation team. why did it take that long to review these incidents? The war had been over for multiple months before the incident was even reviewed by the moderation team. My report was moved to the Completed reports sub-forum but no one ever commented on the report stating that it was complete nor was I ever contacted about either of the reports.

What motivates you to return to LOTC?

A few players that I know well have recently returned to the server some of them have requested that I also return to the server and as such here I am.
