  1. "The land that is not regioned is still under the ownership of the nation that it is under - that means, that nation CAN remove settlements from it, etc if they see fit."

Will the nation influence be present from the get go or will some of these free-land areas be influenced by the respected faction/nation over time?

Another way I could ask this, for clarity is:

Will there be free-land off of the main road that is not yet influenced by a kingdom unless done so by neighboring factions or nations after-release?

    Greetings friends,

I regret to inform you that I will be stepping down as Lead Developer. I was invited to join this server in April, 2011 by Availer. I was asked to create the Elven capital and was one of the Five original developers.

I'm stepping down for many reasons and I will explain a few of those reasons below, for transparency.

Outside of LoTC, I'm a 23 year old young adult. I've got no car, no money and still live with my parents.

After recent controversy and stress, I feel much of my respect and opinion have been tarnished and/or undervalued.

In order for LoTC to once again have the up-most respect for the GM/Admin team I feel that it is best I relieve myself of my title.

I wasn't the best Lead Developer I could be and I thank those who respected me anyway.

Below, is what is next for me.

LoTC at it's core, is cooperative-roleplay.

A place where those who dream of a whimsical, enchanting realm where individuals may participate in storytelling and theater.

Due to the duties & stress that come with being a "lead developer" I have either lost sight, or been unable to correctly perpetuate this ideal of curtsey and roleplay.

I aim to stay on LoTC as a player, and contribute as one.

( Please, make the most of this. I am not leaving the server, I'm doing what's best for me and I hope you understand. )

    Thank you for reading.

  3. I'm fairly certain that, if the community felt that their ability to impact the server as a whole is insufficient that a more mature post could be written.

All of the true-hearted GMs have left or become inactive, or even were removed for voicing their opinion.

This, is disrespectful and unfair to those GM's you actually haven't met - or know.

"your precious ones" is also a rather juvenile statement, if you hope to instill change - you do it right.

  4. I still so no ultimatum stemming from your posts Latsi, what's the solution?

To my knowledge, this mostly stems from dusk's promotion.

Dusk being promoted to an Admin will help me oversee GM's, as-well as training and organizing new GM's and staff. Not dealing with player reations, Like NekoDanie old job.

I didn't tell Goldrim to leave for voicing his opinion, don't turn it around like that. I told Goldrim to leave because of the way he loosely used his words.

I'm not saying this is "Lord Of The Staff" I'm saying that you shouldn't speak so strongly of anothers wishes or goals without giving them a chance to explain themselves. Aka the GM's you've disrespected with, "All of the true-hearted GMs have left or become inactive"

  5. I can't help but disagree Latsi, you haven't spoken to staff in quite a long time and you shouldn't base your opinions of them from others.

We have questioned our GM's long enough, and its high-time we support each-other and show the players that we do respect our staff members so that they can work with morale.

I'm not sure which GM's you feel are here for fame or glory, but It would be far more appropriate if you messaged an admin your woes or at the very least written respectfully.

Instead of saying "LoTC is.." or "The GM's are.."

You should say "I believe Lotc is.." or "I believe the GM's are.." because your opinion is your own and it shouldn't be presented as fact.

  6. We don't know what happened to the contents on our servers hard-drive, we're not completely sure if it was malicious or a hardware issue.

(my resources include Alectriciti, Tythus and Dgco, the only one's with access to the console.)

Like my original post says, we'll keep you updated on the presence of a more recent save.

Tythus told me he may have found one no older than a month, but I haven't posted that information because I haven't actually seen the map yet and don't want to get hopes up.

Either way, no one is lying to you - sorry for the inconvenience. :?

  7. Can we at least REQUEST them to mention our name in the video itself? That would, at least, get people to know about us. Most of the viewers are the kind of people that just watch the videos and then go to watch others, NEVER even touching the info about it, and go straight to the comments.

I will inquire, but with a million views I'd imagine a few thousand read the description, at-least. Which 'aint bad!

  8. yogscastchristmas.png

    Hey again LoTCers,

The Yogscast loved our spooky mansion build for their Halloween animation has asked us to show them our best by building for their Christmas animation.

What we've been asked to build is a Christmas town, covered in snow and decorated a plenty for the Christmas season. Complete with a big 'ol Christmas tree in the middle!

We've worldpainted a map and have it ready to go.

    --

If you'd like to help, and have your build seen by at-least a million viewers, comment below with images of Christmas themed buildings & decorations that YOU'VE built!

(Even if you just have a cool idea for a giant candy cane or other details please submit them!)

This build should be done before the 5th-10th of December so if you want to get involved hurry and post!

  9. Right. So I was deliberating actually being the bearer of bad news here, but I fear these questions should be addressed else we still be in the dark about the future of LotC.

While I appreciate and am impressed by the quick work of creating the 2.5 and hastening of 3.0, we are clearing up an effect of the main issue, mainly the malicious and almost constant and regular DDoS of our servers. My question is, what is going to be done about the main issue? If the attacks persist, regardless of 3.0 or not, it will ultimately push players out of LotC as the attackers want. What are options we can explore? :(

We haven't been DDoS'd in months I believe, if we do we'll go from there.

  10. I think we should have a my view for GMs that need to be removed/added. Perhaps a new way to choose GMs?

You may send your queries about a GM to an admin like myself. As for choosing GM's, I'd also like to reserve that right seeing as working well together is a vital element. Showing your support on a GM application is a great way of promoting a GM in the making.

  11. You do realise that now one of the key people who wanted your race removed is an admin, don't you?

Why should someone let their personal desires get in the way from the server as a whole? Even if the kha was to be removed it would be done under the premise that LoTC needs this for growth.

Either way, nothing has been decided about that matter

  12. In no way, was Goldrim's post immature, disrespectful, in no way.

Not one F-bomb, not one finger-point, not one "blaaah i paid money give me what i want"

    type of rant, nothing.

Respect is something to be earned, if one trys to force it, they'll get the opposite in return.

What he said is a very nicely sugarcoated version of what a lot of people are thinking.

I'm not asking for us to be respected, I'm asking for us not to be disrespected.

And I will be the judge on what is respectful and disrespectful when aimed at my staff,

As for Dusk's promotion, becoming an Administrator means, looking over GM's, assisting teams and straying away from mod requests and costumer service. To those of you who don't like dusk as a moderator, perhaps her newly appointed back-stage presence will keep you from quarreling.
