Joined the team for this MMORPG in the making.. www.adrullan.online - it plays like Everquest/World of Warcraft but with voxel-style graphics :]

Hey, remember me? I didn't think so, but here's a video that might shed some light on the early days of LoTC and a glimpse into what it was like to run the thing so long ago.. @marimbamonk Asked to interview me awhile back so I put on my sunday best and we spent over 2 hours talking about times as far back as 2011.. (super impressed with his questions and over all demeanor) I had a lot of fun recording this and I really miss being a part of something so special. Also, I forgot to mention "Simmpa" the first king of the dwarves.. (sorry!) ** Inteview starts 12 minutes into the video **

@shiftnative That's so great that you're doing something creative and getting paid for it; I'm glad to hear that you've been well too. I just looked at the age of my account and can't believe it's been over 10 years. It feels like a far but not-so-distant memory, like maybe 2 or 3 years.
As for myself, I'm doing okay, thank you! I'm a relatively functioning adult human being, haha. I live a grey office life working for an international manufacturing conglomerate (so that's...fun) but it pays the bills and I tolerate it which is good enough for me for now. I work to live, after all, and try to keep myself busy with my hobbies.You know, I've realized LoTC kind of ruined Minecraft for me. After playing on the server all those years ago, I never returned to playing Minecraft normally since.

@Toren NeminisYeah! Certainly doesn't feel like over a decade.. especially when you say it out-loud lol. Glad to hear you're doing well =] I can understand that, I've only ever returned to the game for singleplayer creative builds for when I'm too lazy to go out in the texas heat that is my garage and build IRL things.. i'm making a creature costume for the renfaire now where i'm a 10ft tall treant.. so that should be something..
Its really fun coming back to the forums and looking through old posts or mentions, seeing history be held 10 years on.. being partially responsible, It feels really heart-warming..

A huge benefit to starting off modest is that other/new players see the potential for growth and/or refinement, inspiring them to potentially make their mark. Seeing the world and it's settlements evolve also is a huge component of immersion for me. I understand that starting with nothing can change how people roleplay considerably but there's gotta be a happy medium to starting with a huge city that will only change slightly over the length of the map. Those hashtags tho.. 😂

Looking great..! From what I've seen this is one of LoTC's most promising maps. I'm personally interested to see how the main road will be laid out and land is distributed. I REALLY hope y'all make a proper, cheesy video like this one (shout out Alectriciti) to post around online and spread the LoTC gospel - something like this taking off on reddit could attract a ton of new players..

More rules, more problems.. combat on this server has needed to be simplified for over a decade. The more you add to the list of rules, the more often players will have to break character to acknowledge them. (Or get into disputes over them.) The rules should be clear, concise and at most 15-20 lines long. If people can't come to a conclusion in combat they should leave eachother be. If a player routinely becomes a problem or uses this policy to avoid conflict at the benefit of their character that would fall under power-gaming. Make things clear, give players some autonomy and lead by example. (Please!)
