  1. I'd rather go bu the suit elsewhere at those prices.
  2. How much is the going price for cobblestone/stone? Stonebricks?
  3. Felix is right in his thinking, and you are too narrowminded to see it. Let them take a crappy inn where they cannot do anything- They'll leave in a days time out of boredom. They kill us FOR SPORT! You think you 'pushed them back'? They'd had enough fun for the day and left, and would have done the same had you followed DIRECT orders, with less deaths of good men.
  4. Bravo Janos! I knew you'd do well the moment I saw you on that obstacle course all those seasons ago!
  5. Oh how delightful! A place for myself and other halflings to indulge in our carnal pleasures.
  6. ((I used to stay on long enough to rival Hayden, until this computer started crapping out. :'[ ))
  7. Hayden is a lieutenant, his job is to step into the fray when the lesser guards have fleed. Felix is the High Constable and was certainly NOT 'having tea and biscuits' at the time.
  8. ((I say no, there's been what, 5-6(?) ban report on him. Why would we?))
  9. (( Don't you mean, 'If I 'speak' like this', or 'If I type like this'? :P))
  10. ((I would like to make a suggestion for the application. I think we should a 'how long have you been in aegis? ((Irl?)): question to it so we don't get any newcomers being scrubby and killing our rep even more so.))
  11. Actually no, but the way of testing wasn't represented to me personally like that, so I said I appreciated it, as we don't get constructive criticism that actually applies a lot. Now please go take your sarcasm elsewhere. ((And your OOC in RP.))
  12. Meh. A war made on idiocy and pride, with a battleground fought when our troops slept. Bravo. Very exemplary.
  13. I like your idea sir, it sounds very promising actually. That's the kind of suggestion we at the guard definitely appreciate.
  14. It's not big deal And I suppose this is true for you as well, then, hmm? Child.
  15. No? ((Also, petition.)) A kings decree is a king's decree, this is no diplomacy.
  16. Even I, who dislikes the Rangers, know they're organized. Everyone could use a little polishing, but that goes without saying.
  17. AShkae is a great man, as is Felix and our other officers. We get by, but as I said, it's hard enough to find your superior as it is. ((Without metagaming.)) A more complicated system, an army and a guard, would also mean more pay needing to be given out to more people, and where will that come from? No, I'll not entertain the thought.
  18. No one would be willing except those who would meekly go to jail by them self. We don't execute people for petty crimes. We arrest them, if they resists arrest and attempt to run, get belligerent, cause a ruckus, we're more inclined to answer there crime with capital punishment.
  19. That means even more complicated of a system- It's hard enough to get your superior as it is.
  20. ((A very good idea, however, it seems a little complicated for the current denizens of Oren, as of late.))
  21. ((You're right in that. I'd assumed you'd just forgotten brackets. Apologies. Really.)) To be completely honest, most of the time the actual complaints are from people who're new to the guard and haven't had time to thicken their skin. Many a time we've had people leave because of the way we're treated, when all we're doing is attempting to do the job we're given. If we must arrest you because you broke a law and refuse to pay the fine, then it is your fault. You broke a law. We're the people who attempt to withhold it. Now, if you're in such a situation, more oft than not, you'll get a day ((10-20 minutes)) in the cells and be released on a warning. Obviously repeat offenders will be dealt with more harshly, as well as people who come roughly. The same is true if it's the opposite, or at least, if you're speaking with me it is. When an imbecile is running along the walls of the city, bothering me at my post, I will most definitely deal with him more harshly than if he'd been doing something else, that perhaps does not make my job any harder. People call us racist. Say we pick on so and so because he's an orc, or an elf, or whatnot, when it's quite obvious he'd broken a law and if it had been a human, it would have been the same- Except that everyone starts to shout about our bias opinions upon this 'so and so'. It is not only the guard at fault, but the peoples around us as well. When I visited alstion this past month, I witnessed a man get sliced to death with a stone sword as execution, because he'd been shouting blasphemy. Where are the numerous complaints of his racism (for he was an elf, and the other a dwarf.), his bias? They didn't exist because the people around him were not intent upon making him a monster, whereas the people of Aegis seem to be, toward the Oren guard. I do not say our recruits are well trained. I do not say our training process doesn't have flaws. What I say is that we do not have any more than the norm for such a large city. such a guard. All I ask of you, citizens of Oren, at the very least, and those that visit, do not pick a fight with us over something you heard over an ale at Dawn's, or anywhere else. Base your assumptions on facts, at the least, and not heresy. Thank you.
