What's there to say... I am an old fart who has been gaming since D&D was first created. I am a software engineer for Hewlett Packard. In the past I have worked as a freelance writer for Iron Crown Enterprises on the Middle Earth series for RoleMaster. I also hosted, administered and managed a dev team for a Never Winter Night's server for 5 years. The server was called Nymri and it did very well for a while, until NWN 2 came out - then it died.

I am married for 20+ years with three kids. Two of them are in college (one at UCF for his Masters in Game Design and the other at Ga Tech for Undergrad in Bio-Medical Engineering). My youngest is in the eighth grade (oh God how I hate those Middle School years).

I have been looking for a Fantasy RP server of some kind to occupy my time, when my son told me about Minecraft. He hates it because he is an artist and cannot look at all the blocks for very long. But he knew I would like the building aspect of the game. I purchased Minecraft in July and spent about six weeks building stuff and playing around on the local client.

Then I felt it was time to look for a server. I searched high and low for one that I thought would fit my tastes and play style. That's how I came to be here. I love what Availer has done with the server, the website and the forums. The wiki needs some work IMHO, but there is a lot of useful information on there. Because I have been in Availer's shoes, I completely understand what a sacrifice and a labor of love it is to host a server. For that reason I chose to support him by donating what I could. I encourage everyone that enjoys the server AND has the money to spare, to donate something to the cause. When hardware breaks or needs expanding, Availer is the one footing the cost. It's only fair that those of us who are able, give him a bit of support.

Well, that turned out to be a bit longer than I expected.
