Oh, you're right it is, but it's an element from what I've read atleast, that comes from the more basic earth properties: "Earth engenders Metal as all metal has to be extracted from the earth in which it resides" - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metal_(Wu_Xing) - I think it all may be one's personal belief though, as this is just a Chinese I've derived from.
