  1. Elivmar approaches the board, seeing a new notice has been hung. Upon reading, he fumbles in his pocket for something to write with and a small sheet of paper. A few seconds later the following notice is pinned to the board: "I currently make residence within the dwelling Maheral's laier. -Elivmar"
  2. Magic is definitely something that's missing from Haelun'or. Even as a whole, the city doesn't exactly seem that magical considering the supposed aptitude of High Elves for magic. I'm not just talking about battle magic and stuff like that, but just magical enhancements. I'm unsure of how redstone is perceived lore wise, but even using redstone wiring in a hidden to make the occasional pressure plate door could give off the feel that the city is more magical. Laying it down in strange patterns as a sort of rune could even be possibilities. Floating pillars and other strange anomalies would be interesting as well. I think these small things that, while not significant, add a magical feel could be incredibly beneficial.
  3. Student Application Name: Elivmar Lahial Residence: Haelun'or, although I plan on purchasing housing in Hanseti. Age: 237 Are you a citizen of Hanseti? (Yes / No )* *Passport required at registration. No. I plan on getting a passport, and mentioned earlier, if accepted, possibly buying a house within Hanseti. What type of magical sensitivities do you have: Slight control of elements such as fire and water and possibly some potential in mental prowess. Describe your magical background. My magical background is in nearly direct correlation to my magical sensitivities. Although a resident of Haelun'or, I spend a majority of my time travelling, having spent time in all of the human kingdoms and The Wilds, North of Haelun'or. During my time in The Wilds, there would often be periods of extreme hardship, whether I was travelling through a desert or the tundra. It was during these occasions that I realized I have some potential with magic. Producing just a small spark, or drawing out a droplet of war often meant the difference between life and death. However, as I have no training, I've always been apprehensive to push it. Aside from these occasional, almost insignificant achievements, I've performed few acts of magic. Moreover, I've also used my time in seclusion for introspection, and have gained a strong sense of meditative calm. Although not directly magic training, I believe this still could prove incredibly useful. In fact, I've published a book on it, which I'd be willing to provide it as reference if asked. How many years have you been able to control/conjure this power? My forays into the wilderness began around my one hundredth birthday. However, It has mostly been in the last seventy years that I've occasionally used this ability. Although, as I've mentioned, it could have been there beforehand and I've just been apprehensive to use it. What subjects do you wish to learn? Controlling these elements of magic that would further enable me to survive on my journeys. Additionally, although I'm not sure if I have the potential, any healing skills. Part of my desire to learn magic lies in my tendency to want to understand the fundamental laws that drive the world we reside upon. If accepted, I'd likely attempt to put these abilities into use for research. Have you ever been exposed to dark magic? If so, elaborate: As far as I'm aware I have not. I hope my letter finds you well. If there are any problems, questions, or information you wish to provide, feel free to send me a letter in Haelun'or. -Elivmar Lahial ((I'm not sure if this is still open considering when the last post was made, but I figured I'd give it a shot! Also, my characters past experiences are things I've actually done, not just part of his bio))
  4. I would appreciate it if you would sign me up as well.
  5. Name: Elivmar Truename ((MCName)): Elivmar Origin: How can you declare you are Mali'thill: My pride as a Mali'Aheral knows no limits. From the discovery, I've put my life into Haelun'or, helping with laborious tasks such as both farming and mining. I embrace myself as a Mali'aheral and wish to have a facet to express my noble pride. Becoming part of the Mali'thill would certainly be a paramount stepping stone into embodying the ideals of the Mali'aheral. Why do you wish to become a citizen of Haelun'or: To become a citizen of Haelun'or would validate my existence as a member of the Mali'Aheral. Too long have the Mali'Aheral been apart and now the time has come for them to be united. Simply put, being a member of this Mali'Aheral nation would be an enormous honor. Moreover, it would truly give me an opportunity to pursue greater knowledge in an environment that facilities academia. What is your personal vision for our blessed race: A society of only pure-blooded Mali'Aheral that operates independently from the outside world. Travel outside the city to study the world and the lesser races would certainly occur, but at anytime Haelun'or would stand as a home for the Mali'Aheral to return to and only be around their kin. The greater knowledge of our race would enable us to be a nation to be revered, and in some ways feared, by the other nations. The size of the current city would be greatly expanded, and the college would become significantly larger, with libraries so large that no mortal creature could ever dream to read every book within. What does maehr'sae hiylun'ehya mean to you: It is the ideal of life I strive for. Everyone of my actions should revolve around following this ideal, and promoting a society fully dedicated to this ideal. Maehr'sae hiylun'ehya defines who we are as a race, and to fully embody our Mali'Aheral ancestry we must learn to live the maehr'sae hiylun'ehya. What Elven phrase do you particularly take to heart? Please explain why: Maehr’sae (progress). I feel this term defines our race to a large extent. Maehr'sae is something we must always pursue. For without the pursuit of Maehr'sae, the great expansion of our knowledge, Haelun'or would no longer be the sanctuary of the Mali'Aheral. We must constantly work to uphold this term, and consider it's importance to our very existence. What is the subject of the first book you will submit to the college: In all likelihood, something regarding government or politics. I hold a strong interest in the matters of the state, and wish to learn all that I can. To write about a multitude of political systems, including their effectiveness, and the various political states of the world. I'm unsure what system I'll start with, but no doubt I wish to write a book that can teach something important. For without an understanding of the state of government, how can we expect to perfect ourselves? What would be your reaction if you ever saw a human, orc and unknown Mali'aheral travel the roads from Alras together: Foremost, the Mali'aheral stand above any of the other races. While in Haelun'or, I would freely express this belief. However, life in the world demands a certain level of tact. To openly provoke others in an unknown area would simply be foolish. Some may deem it honorable, but those who feel that way clearly don't understand the way the world works. While the Mali'aheral may be superior to the other nations, we can not fight a war against all, and must display some level of understanding about the other races. For that reason, I would be amicable toward these fellow travelers, but not overtly friendly. What home would you like to receive: (if left blank you will be granted one of the free residences, if one is availible): I would like a Maheral's banih-laier (Medium Hall - Long). Are there any other details about yourself you wish to relay to the council: I truly wish to immerse myself in Haelun'or. Despite the minimum requirement for publishing works, I wish to publish considerably more than required. I've spent a long time in Haelun'or and seen it grow, be torn down, and grow back. I wish to see what the future holds for the noble Mali'aheral.

Elivmar In-Character: -Character Name: Elivmar -What is your Race?: Elf -Lordofthecraft.net/forum forum account: Elivmar -Biography: Elivmar was born many years ago, in the beautiful city of Laurelin. His father and mother were both distinguished Professors at a local academy. It takes no great leap of the imagination to figure out what this meant for his childhood. Unlike many his age, a great deal of his youth was not spent outside playing games, but instead studying and learning, subjects as varied as mathematics and literature. In fact, he spent more than half his life learning, with little or nothing notable occurring to speak of. His life was in fact quite boring, he just hadn’t realized it yet. However, then came the day the Elves were attacked by the undead, and many of their glades scorched to the ground. Awakened to the problems in the world, Elivmar set off, to the strong disapproval of his parents. He wanted to experience this world, to see first hand what the world outside his beautiful city was life, and to try to understand why things like this could possible occur. There was no particular place in mind. He simply wandered the world, traveling from city to city, and occasionally fighting in a battle or two. He began to learn things he hadn’t previously been aware of, the truth of reality. A few specific instances of his travels stand out. During a portion of his time away, when he had run out of money and needed a way to survive, he spent some time in Ravenhold mining to try to return to his adventure. During his time there, he learned of his extreme dislike for mining, yet appreciated the physical labor and necessity of it. It was the instance where he began to move away from his comforted and soft life. One his way to the capital of Aeriel, he had been attacked and taken captive. However, luckily, a group of soldiers from the city had rescued him. Although no serious harm had befallen him, it had been an interesting experience. He’d fought for the first time using a weapon, and it opened his mind to further battles and even the possibility of life as a soldier. After a few years, he finally returned to Laurelin, all the more knowledgeable. However, he now stood on a cusp of his life as he began to decide what his next act in life would be. He was learned, and could therefore enter a path of academia. However, his knowledge also left the possibility of a merchants life open. And, of course, there was always the exciting life of a soldier. Choices were in great abundance for Elivmar. Here, on this watershed of life, is where Elivmar currently stands. -Character Age: 119 years old -Character Appearance: Elivmar is of moderate height with an athletic build, although more on the skinny side. Like many Elves, he has blonde hair and blue eyes. -Character Personality: Elivmar is lighthearted and easy to get along with, for the most part. However, he’s also proud and oftentimes conceited. His knowledge gives him a feeling of superiority, that can oftentimes land him in trouble. -Your ambitions: As mentioned, he’s unsure. Everyone reaches a point in their life where they aren’t completely sure of what they want to do. There seems to be so many paths, and one wishes they could follow them all, but that’s impossible. -Can your character read or write?: Incredibly well. -Can your character mine?: Prefers not to, but has done so when times were tough during traveling. -Are you a capable builder? Able to, but not the best. -Can you wield a sword?: Traveling the world, the ability to wield a sword was a necessity. While not a master swordsmen, he can hold his own. -Enjoy Farming?: Yes. Anything to do with the natural aspects of the world automatically attracts him. -Does your character have any special skills?: Mostly his great knowledge of many things. -A screenshot of your skin: -Other Information: This server looks unbelievable. I’m really excited at the chance to hopefully be a part of it.
