Telekinesis - The manipulation of objects with the mind
((Babyphire, Devianart))
Introduction:
Telekinesis is is the Arcane magic form of moving objects with the mind. This magic type utilized the mind to move objects. In real life telekinetic abilities are an often referenced form of magic which I believe will make an interesting contribution to the Role play in Asulon. Many famous magicians throughout history have referenced such a power yet no attempt to bring this interesting form of magic to Asulon has been made.
Additionally another bonus of this magic is that it gives an additional lore background to magic types such as ‘household magic’ whereby the lifting of objects so they may do chores is given a lore background to how this is possible.
The use of telekinesis:
Telekinesis is the direct lifting of objects. The telekinetic temporarily changed how gravity act on objects. This change like in Evocation fades rapidly after levitation. The telekinetic may chose to remove the alteration. A large rock for example would instantly drop, whereas a pebble would drop/float down slowly (Still not staying up for an extended period of time) unless the telekinetic removed the alteration. This like all other types of arcane magic alters things in a way not natural to this world, and thus disappear. This therefore renders the creation of artificially floating objects in perpetual floating state without the focus of a mage impossible.
Objects lifted by direct telekinesis must be solid as the telekinetic can not possibly focus on a liquid and move it as there are simply too many particles to focus on. The same can be applied to gases such as the air and multitudes of small objects such as dirt. This in it’s own way separates it from Evocation and Elementalism.
A telekinetic must focus on a single object in order to grab it. This makes the manipulation of moving objects much harder as it is more difficult for the mage to focus on the single point. However, this does not make it impossible. Mages of greater degree of mastery over telekinesis are able to manipulate objects in motion to a greater degree. Where an amateur telekinetic may be unable to redirect even a rock thrown in his direction a master may be able to control this rock (assuming it is not traveling at incredible speeds and is not very larger), and even redirect fast moving objects or particularly large moving objects.
When it comes to the difficulty of manipulating an object there are a few factors which influence the difficulty:
Speed of motion
Number of objects manipulated at once
Size and weight of object
Speed of Motion:
Speed of motion influences the telekinetic’s ability to manipulate an object as it becomes more difficult to focus on the object and grab hold of it the faster it goes. Some objects may travel at speeds where a telekinetic can not fully grab hold of but may only redirect slightly.
Once a telekinetic has grabbed hold of an object however it becomes irrelevant the speed of the object as the telekinetic already has focus on it assuming they are the only ones governing the movement of the object (See below).
It must be noted that if an object changed direction suddenly and powerfully without the motion being commanded by the telekinetic it is most often the case the telekinetic will lose focus on the object (For example if a telekinetic grabs hold of a warriors sword assuming the warrior swings the sword the telekinetic will not be able to grab hold of the sword and manipulate it, as it is not entirely under their control).
In general the changing of direction's influence on the focus will vary. For example a sudden weak force will not disrupt a telekinetic nearly as easily as a powerful and constant force. For example take a rock baring down from above a telekinetic. If the rock is small it has constant force however does not cause much force downwards, therefore a telekinetic could stop it an manipulate it. A massive rock however could hardly be redirected by a master and would certainly crush the telekinetic.
Number of Objects:
A telekinetic has greater difficulty focusing on greater number of objects as they become more difficult to track and manipulate with the mind (Multitasking is more difficult). This however, is not to say that a telekinetic may not manipulate more than one object at once, however the strength of a telekinetic’s manipulation will decrease as more objects are added. A telekinetic may be able to lift one object, but if that object is split it will become more and more difficult to lift the same weight as there is more to focus on. This therefore makes multi-particulate things such as sand impossible to lift in more than minuscule amounts even for a master, and things like liquids and gasses impossible due to the sheer number of independent and unbound molecules.
((Kelume, Devianart))
Size and weight of Object:
As may be obvious, the larger an object the more difficult it will be to manipulate. While an adept may be able to levitate a wooden table and a set of chairs around it, a block of obsidan or voluminous amounts of a low density object such as wool would be impossible.
Additionally some things are altogether impossible or incredibly difficult to manipulate:
Objects with changing surface area
Energy
Objects with changing surface area (Living):
An object with a changing surface area is very difficult to manipulate as the telekinetic (much like an object which moves without the instruction of the telekinetic) is unable to focus on an object which moves in a way out of his control. This thereby makes the levitation of living objects almost impossible for anyone but a master. In the case of a master such a subject would have to be standing still and the telekinetic would still be unable to move them at more than a slow speed more than a few centimeters off the ground (No flight can be attained by a telekinetic attempting to lift a person). This is due to two factors: The fact that they are moving, and the fact they are comprised of not only solids.
Therefore in order to affect living objects of anything more than a small size (i.e. A mouse or bigger becomes very difficult) other more easy to direct objects must be used (Such as directing a book to fly at them).
Energy:
Quite obviously, energy is not matter and therefore the telekinetic can not focus on the object. This makes the manipulation of fire, and arcane energy impossible (This is more for clarification).
Strengths:
A telekinetic will be able to lift all manner of solid objects for his/- her bidding.
Explains in part “Household magic”
Weaknesses:
Gasses and liquids are impossible to manipulate.
Energy is impossible to manipulate.
People are almost impossible to manipulate.
Things in motion are much more difficult to manipulate due to the need to focus on a location to move the object.
Increasing numbers of objects are more difficult to manipulate.
The requirements:
Requires a MA for Telekinesis (Except in case where it is used in ‘household magic’ in which case it is weaker)
Requires intellect to be able to learn magic (just as normal mages do).
Progression over time:
Telekinesis will take a similar amount of time to learn as all other Arcane Magic types. I have broken down the progression into a rough order so that it may be known.
First Stage Novice Telekinetic: Little lifting at all is possible through telekinesis. (0-2 weeks) [1/10]
Second Stage Novice Telekinetic: Little lifting at all is possible through telekinesis. Objects begin to be able to shift with great difficulty but can not even be lifted.(2-4 weeks)
Third Stage Novice Telekinetic 1/3: Capable lift up to 3 small objects with no direction such as small rocks or spoons. Is incapable of lifting anything in motion. Sudden weak and non-constant forces break focus (i.e. a small rock being thrown at the object) (4 weeks)
Third Stage Novice Telekinetic 2/3: Capable lift up to 5 small objects and direct them at slow speeds, or a single object no heavier than half a kilogram at very slow speeds Sudden weak and non-constant forces break focus Constant forces break focus. (i.e. a small rock being thrown at the object) (4-5 weeks)
Third Stage Novice Telekinetic 3/3: Capable lift multiple small objects with medium speed. Can lift objects slowly up to 3 kilograms in weight. Medium non-constant forces break focus. Constant forces break focus. (5-6 weeks) [4/10]
Telekinetic: Capable lift multiple small objects with medium-fast speed, Can lift medium sized objects at medium speed. Can not lift anything heavier than 12.5 kilograms. Capable of bending metal objects such as spoons with difficulty. ((6-9 weeks)) Medium-Large non-constant forces break focus. Medium constant forces break focus.[5/10]
Adept Telekinetic:Capable of lifting small objects with greater speed and high technical dexterity. Small objects can be lifted at medium-fast speeds and the heaviest object that can be lifted is 35 kilograms at slow speed. Spoons may be bent with relative ease. Capable of manipulating objects moving at a medium speed with great difficulty and redirecting them with relative proficiency (Medium speed is like throwing a ball slowly in a high arc, in no way can something hurtling at the telekinetic be manipulated). Is beginning to learn to redirect quickly moving objects with great difficulty. Medium-Large non-constant forces break focus. Medium - Large Constant forces break focus.((9-11 weeks)) [6/10]
Highly Adept Telekinetic: Capable of lifting small and medium objects with great speed and technical dexterity. The heaviest object that may be lifted is 60 kilograms at slow speed. Capable of manipulating objects moving at medium speeds towards them and ineffective at redirecting quickly moving objects. Metal rods and bars can be bent. Large non-constant forces break focus. Medium - Large Constant forces break focus. (11-17 weeks) [8/10]
Masterful Telekinetic: Capable of lifting all manner of objects with ease and speed. The heaviest object that may be lifted is 110 kilograms at slow speed. Dexterity is exhibited when manipulating most objects. Effective at redirecting speeding or very large objects. Many objects can be bent. Very Large non-constant forces break focus. Large Constant forces break focus. (17-24 weeks) [9/10]
Grand Master Telekinetic: Capable of lifting all manner of objects with ease and speed. The heaviest object that may be lifted is 170 kilograms at slow speed. Dexterity is exhibited when manipulating most objects. Effective at redirecting speeding or very large objects. Metal objects which are stationary are easily bent. ((24-27 weeks)) [10/10] (Increases slowly over time from this point onwards at a standard rate of 5kg per in game year for example at 30 weeks (185kg))
Note: The maximum lifting mentioned is for very slow manipulation. Only one fifth of that weight may be manipulated at a medium speed. It is only one tenth of this which can be manipulated at a fast speed. Objects in the upper two fifths of the lifting ability of a telekinetic would require an extended amount of focusing on the object before it could begin to be lifted. A telekinetic trying to lift heavier objects may be able to lift it slightly for a few moments (no more than a few centimeters) and would immediately drop it in exhaustion. Heavier objects may be dragged with equivalent force to the lift.
Additionally - When referring to a large constant force it is assumed a warrior or any basically competent or non impaired person could output such a force. Thereby once again reinforcing the inability to remove things from a resisting owner's hands.

Common telekinetic Usage:
Every Day:
Movement of objects within a room.
Aid in construction (Lifting objects into difficult places)
Activation of levers and switches from afar.
Direction of objects towards a target (The lighter an object the more easily it can be directed and oriented)
Lifting of heavy objects (Would require a master telekinetic for particularly large objects and the lifting would be slow)
Side notes:
What is to stop a telekinetic fighting like a swordsman from afar? Telekinesis would be unable to do this as the swordsman, as soon as he hits the telekinetic's sword for the first time will alter the swords direction and thus cause the telekinetic to lose focus on the sword. The swordsman would be likely able to walk up to the mage before he would be could lift it again.
Thank you to Benboboy for his incredibly useful format, freddy kruger and roxforbraynz for his feedback and roxforbraynz.
Once one telekinetic has 'grabbed a hold' of an object it becomes easier for others to do the same almost nullifying the disadvantage of motion. This is just an interesting idea to allow for cooperative lifting of objects (Assuming they are coordinating their movement) or, alternatively telekinetic fights over a single object. It still blocks all other types of sudden lifting, but allows for telekinetic to have unique interactions which only can be done intra-telekinetic (Of course this is negotiable like other things).

Question and Answer:
Just like a fire evocationist making a massive fireball or a water mage drowning everything, this has to be balanced it is true. But, you will also note that these things only persist while the mage keeps focus therefore a barrier may not persist, and these barriers may also be broken as is mentioned.
I believe if you read it you will notice objects which are in motion can not be lifted by telekinesis. Furthermore no mage could make a spell that fast to move it.
Note that it mentions that liquids and gasses can not be manipulated and things with many particles can not be manipulated. Telekinesis can also not create things, however an evocationst creates everything they use.
- Can not move water, air, fire, dirt (too many particles).
