  1. Styr Oknir, brother of Tormund Oknir, sends his falcon, Vor, to send word to his brother that he is coming. He equips his gear, shaves his head until only a mohawk remains, and heads off.
  2. Thank you very much for the quick reply!
  3. Sorry if this is the wrong area to make this post, but I was wondering if there are still villain applications and if not, how do villainous acts work? Can you just not perform these acts or is everyone able to, or is there some in between? Just wondering because I looked around the forums for anything on this but couldn't find it. Thanks for the help!
  4. Thorin's eyes bulge as he hears his uncle start to utter an insult. Thorin cuts off his uncle with a quick blow to the gut, and stares at Cynric meaningfully, hoping he had gotten the message.
  5. Thorin temptedly steps up to speak, but shies away. Thorin steps down and awaits Aedric's response.
  6. Thorin walks in behind his father and watches as Cynric denies the insults and explains himself in a not-so-civil way. "Ah well, he was right, after all..." Thorin mutters under his breath.
  7. Thorin Ulfhaedyn stood on the left hand side of his father, Aedric, and nodded in agreement with the spoken line. Thorin knew this was his father's time to speak and so he stood quietly, his eyes quickly darting between every man and every woman in the room. Thorin judged each figure, drawing strengths and weaknesses from each individual. The young, analytical man, once finished, brought his attention to the Emperor.
  8. Out-Of-Character Minecraft Account Name: Stabbedurmom How old are you?: 14 Time-Zone/Country of Residence: EST/USA Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Yes. Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I love role-playing, but when I'm not I'm playing sports. I play football, lacrosse, and basketball. I am going to a new high school next year, and I'm usually a bit busy. How much time could you be on the server weekly?: At least an hour, usually more. What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Role-playing is acting out a character, or playing a character as if you were that character. You must put yourself in your character's shoes. What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I have played WoW, many RPG's and I have played on The World of Synthesia and Overture Minecraft servers. In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: When you use Out Of Character information In Character. For example, Billy is RPing with his friends Bob and Joe. Joe tells Billy Out of Character that he stole Bob's food. Billy then goes over to Bob and says in character "It seems that someone has stolen from you," even though Bob and Joe never told anyone IN CHARACTER about what had happened. This is metagaming. In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: When you Roleplay something that may be impossible to do, or leaving another player no chance to retaliate. Powergamers usually focus more on their own character. Here's an example. INCORRECT FIGHT Bob_the_Builder:Hello Billy. Billy_the_Bully:Hey Bob, I have got to beat you up today. Billy_the_Bully grabs Bob and punches him 30 times. Billy_the_Bully knees Bob's face 10 times. Billy_the_Bully stabs Bob in the leg. Billy_the_Bully rips Bob's head off. Billy was Powergaming. Billy did things his character would not be able to do. For instance, first he grabbed Bob and punched him 30 times. If he punched Bob 30 times, Bob should have been able to retaliate, but Bob couldn't. Secondly, Billy knees Bob's face 10 times. This is not possible for the same reason as the first. Thirdly Billy stabs Bob's leg. This is not possible since Billy did not have a knife, or at least he never pulled one out. Lastly, Billy ripped Bob's head off. This is not humanly possible at all. That would mean your character was a god or a superhero/supervillain. You cannot do this. Here is an example of a fight that has no powergaming. CORRECT FIGHT Fred_the_Furious: You wanna tussle Red? Red_the_Raging: Your on Fred! Fred attempts to punch Red in the torso. Red parries, and grabs Fred's arm. Fred bites Red's hand. Red pulls his hand back and gets ready to block the next punch. Fred fakes a headshot and gets in a low blow. Red holds his groin, falling to his knees. Fred_the_Furious: You're going to die, Red! Red holds his arms up in fear of death. Fred pulls out a sabre. Red gives up and leans forward, looking towards the ground. Fred beheads Red in one quick slice. This is an example of a good RP fight. Both players retaliate and fight back, and have a chance to. After doing an action, you must wait for the other to take action, before you can again, or else you would be Powergaming. What do you expect this server will be like?: I expect it to be very fun. I hope for many RP moments and moments I will remember. What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: Synthesia and Overture. They have stopped, but I'm helping get Synthesia back up. Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes. Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: Yes. How did you hear about us?: TMGMaXdAmAgE and Quixoticelixerr told me. Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you?: No I have not voted, but will after I press the "Post New Topic" button. Have you posted this application on our minecraft forum thread yet? If not, just finish it up on here and then copy + paste is over there. (http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/832121-%E2%96%91%E2%96%92%E2%96%93-the-lord-of-the-craft-%E2%96%93%E2%96%92%E2%96%91-enter-the-world-of-asulon-o-f-f-i-c-i-a-l-l-y-t-h-e-n-o-1-r-p-s-e-r-v-e-r/): No I have not. In-Character: Character Name: Roderick McIntosh What Race are you?: Human What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): Northerner Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Upon arriving in New Alras, Roderick entered the inn. He sat at the bar, and the bartender didn't recognize him. "A new face here?" asked the bartender. "Aye, I'm here to be an Alrasian warrior. I took a lot to get here." "Really now? Tell me your story." "Alright then, it was a strange day. I was born in 1350, a year after the Undead took over Alras. My parents knew I wouldn't be able to survive living on the run, so we moved far to the north. We live alone, my father an experienced lumberer. My father made us a log cabin. My mother cooked but we lived a hard life. My father wasn't a very good hunter. For eight long years, we fought for food, but got very little. I was a frail baby, close to starvation. When I was eight, my father deemed me able to hunt. I was better than my father, and we ate more. I was eighteen when my mother died. My father was frail and needed help. I told him we should go visit Alras. Maybe others would be there, or so I thought. We travelled for days, the days being cold. The snow piled up on our capes, and my father was becoming sick. I knew he would die soon. I decided to stop. I made a camp, and slowly build a small hut for him. I secretly dug a hole behind the hut. He was becoming more sickly with the cold and all. I lived there for a year, when he finally died. The man I used to know as my dad, was dead, and so was my mother. I was alone. I placed my father six feet under, and left the camp. I decided to keep heading for Alras, and see if I could do anything there. I travelled for a few years, not knowing my place. I finally found Alras. It was booming with life. I was confused. My father had told me it was ransacked my undead, and gone. It was supposed to be destroyed. I ventured in. People were everywhere working and bustling around. I spoke with a local man. I asked of the city. He told me they had regrown because of High Magistrate Martin Benedict. I asked of an army and the man told me of the Alrasian army. I knew then, where I wanted to go. I was thirsty and tired however, and came to the inn. Now I'm here, talking to you." "Wow, what a story. Thanks for telling me. Well anyway, I hope you get into the army." "Thanks, now how about a room?" What is your Character's ambitions?: I wish to be a soldier in the Alrasian army. What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): Sword. What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Roderick is quick-witted and very skilled in the art of the sword. A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format): Other Information about your Character: Open-Response-Questions Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? "Hey, what are you two doing?" I charge in and bash the first warrior in the shoulder. "Back off! Stop harassing this man. He isn't unlike any of you! Back off!" The two men look at each other, than attack me. I get beat up and cut and walk back home, hurt, and a failure. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? "What do you have?" "A bit of this, and a bit of that." I take a look at his wares, seeing nothing I want. "Eh, no thanks." Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: "Well, doesn't look like anyone wants this." I loot the chest and walk away. Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? "Hello, I have nothing to trade, and wish not to purchase. Have a good day." I walk away after my greeting. You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: "I will help this town!" I walk forward and talk to the leader of the party. "I would like to be of help." The officer stares down at me, and agrees. I don my armour and grab my sword. The fight begins. I cut at the first bandit, slashing his arm. A second bandit charges me. I back away, parrying every slash. I jab at the bandit, killing him instantly. The first bandit charges again, but his sword arm is wounded. I kick his arm, making him drop his sword. I slash at his neck, with much force, beheading the poor bandit. I wipe the blood off my sword and walk away, the battle won.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I am 14 years old, currently in eighth grade, and play football, basketball and lacrosse. In my free time I roleplay, or play some other video games. I love to game but sports is a priority. How much time could you be on the server weekly?: 7-9 Hours. What do you know about Roleplaying? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): Nomad Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): At thirty-four years old, Ogril has been at work for twenty-four of those years. At the age of ten, Ogril started his blacksmithing profession with his late father. After a few battles his father was sent back home dead, and Ogril was to carry on the family tradition. Ogril had to upkeep the forge. Only fourteen years of age, Ogril was easily the best blacksmith in the village. Ogril worked hard in to please his customers. Ogril had created many an axe, many a pick, many a sword. When he came of age to wed, he picked a solemn girl, who hid most of her life. He fell in love and he brightened her life. She became outgoing and normal. Pleased, Ogril continued to man the forge, when his newly-wed came running home in rags. "An attack!" she cried, running in fear. Ogril picked up his unfinished axe and ran out of the forge. Buildings on fire, and citizens lying in pools of blood, Ogril had to act fast. He ran out to a strange stone tower and climbed it, only later finding it to be the remains of a fireplace. He scouted ahead, and saw a group of bandits attacking innocents. Ogril leapt down, only to sprain an ankle. I can't fight them off with this ankle, he thought, grimacing as he walked. He started a sprint to get away from the village, but then realized he forgot some things. He half-ran half-limped to the blacksmith, grabbed his trusted hammer, a few pieces of scrap metal and wood, and one-legged it out of the village. After a few miles, all he could see of his old life was ashes and soot. Ogril had to start a new life, alone, his wife missing. As he travelled in search of a new home, he found his wife's body. She looked to have starved to death. He sadly buried her and kept moving, putting all emotions aside. Finally, he reached what seemed to be life. What is your Character's ambitions?: He wishes to stay a blacksmith, in whatever village he begins to live in. What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): When working, Ogril loves his trusted hammer, but when it's time to fight, he grabs a war axe off the shelf of his smithy. What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Blacksmithing. A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format): Other Information about your Character: A normal sized orc, Ogril was named after his father, Ogrim. Also he wears an eye patch because of a blacksmithing accident when he was twelve. Open-Response-Questions Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. "Ehh, hab fun wit' dat halfling." Ogril says, lacking any enthusiasm at all. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. "Okay, gimme a lot!" You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them.
