  1. There's some classy music for you guys. Enioy.
  2. Derp, I didn't know of this game mechanic :S Well, thanks for your advice :) Do you perhaps know a tree farm near Salvus or Renatus?
  3. I'm looking for some kind of job in the human kingdoms, preferably in Salvus. I'm a slightly skilled lumberjack(lvl 16) and I would like to do some lumberjacking. I will do whatever I can for some Minas. Recently I've stumbled upon a sign in Riven, saying "Buying Logs!!!! looking for lumberjacks pay/stack&home" I'm fairly sure they need a lumberjack there, does anybody know who I should contact? I don't have much Minas(5 at the time of writing) and I'm almost out of food, as well. I don't have an axe, though. Sincerely, Aerastarn Giusy.
  4. My connection, it be terrible!

  5. ((MC Name)): Snateraar ((IC)) Name: Aerastarn Giusy Skill in Weapons (Sword, Axe, or Bow) ((Rate on bad to normal to good and then include actual level in OOC brackets)): Archery, Sword (20, 15) ((Timezone)): GMT +1 Gender: Male Race: Human Country of inhabitant ((IG)): Salvus ((Skype Name (If you don't have one, please get one so I may create a guild chat))): Rob Hoek (Terrible at pronounced English, by the way, so will only chat) Answer one of the following questions based on what you ((IC)) would do in the situation: A bandit paired with a slaver stands on the road, attempting to capture a halfling, later to be sold to an orc. You have no armor and no weaponry except for an iron sword. The halfling is also very lacking in weaponry, only having a golden dagger. What do you do?: I ponder if I should try to rescue him or not. Finally I decide, when the bandit isn't looking, to throw a small stone near him to trick him. If, and IF he looks away, I'd quickly knock him out with the handle with my sword and tell that halfling to run his teeny legs of, away to wherever he's able to hide. I might want to run myself as well, as that slaver is still there. A blood mage is speaking with a Lord of Andromeda, trying to tempt him to betray Ascella and Salvus. Realizing the man is a blood mage, what do you do?:- ((I hope for many creative responses!)) *After finishing the application, you tie it to the birds foot and watch it fly off. 8. Out-Of-Character Minecraft Account Name:Snateraar How old are you?:16 years of age Time-Zone/Country of Residence:GMT +1, The Netherlands Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?:Absolutely(Do have minor problems with the spelling of the word occasionally, I usually put a double S). Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:I'm a Minecraft nerd, a slight computer geek and science and chemistry addict. I like being nice to others and helping them. How much time could you be on the server weekly?:At least one hour every day, but most likely more. What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you:Roleplaying is completely forgetting who and what you are in real life, and play with a made-up character in a game. The character should have realistic traits so no overpowered godmode arcane wizardry. It should also act like an actual person and not do things like metagaming; explained below. It can also be seen as a way to momentarily escape your real life and live a made-up life somewhere else(in a game). What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?:Some other games. In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:Metagaming is using information from outside the roleplay inside the roleplay(For instance, information off the Internet or from books or OOC conversations outside the game). This includes saying 'Hello, John Doe, I like how you made an iron anvil last week' while you haven't ever heard of nor ever seen him before. Another example, you walk into a building and you know where all doors are without having ever visited the building before. I've read the forums and on the internet a bit and you shouldn't abuse name tags either. Should basically ignore name tags completely. You should roleplay from the POV from the character. You know what the character knows, and not the other way round. You aren't the character, the character is itself and it's not possible for him to know what you know. (Confusing sentence!) In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is:Power gaming is taking the power in roleplay, in such a way you can do everything without the other roleplayer being able to respond to your actions. For instance, "[Name] attacks [Name 2] from behind and with a terrifying scream decapitates him within a split-second(ha-ha). This isn't really fun for the second roleplayer as A. He didn't see it coming and B. couldn't do anything against it. I should note that I really hate these kind of things. Roleplay is like real life, only in a game, so you should act the same. Same as with metagaming. What do you expect this server will be like?:A large world with a few races that roleplay as best as they can. I've noticed how harsh you guys are with your applications and I am fairly sure this is a good thing. This way you 'filter' out the bad roleplayers, the evildoers, the criminals as I'd say. I'd enjoy to play here mainly because the setup seems very nice. What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:I still play on another server called goldencreeper.com, but that's survival + fly mod stuff and no roleplay. I stumbled upon this place on Reddit and as I've been looking for a good roleplay server for ages.. I'm also a member(a player, not the rank Member) of the Minecraft Middle-Earth server. If you don't know, it's a server where a large, devoted community tries to replicate the world of The Lord Of The Rings as good as possible. Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?:Yes, my Lord. Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules:Yes. How did you hear about us?:Reddit. Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you?:I've voted twice now(Will try to do every day :Y) In-Character: Character Name:Aerastarn Giusy(This is an anagram of my username.) What Race are you?:Human What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race):None. Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):Born in a lone farm near the village Riven, the son of a widower Aerastarn always wanted to see a bigger part of the world than a few miles around his home. As a young lad he always asked his father Drognor to travel around Salvus but he always said it was way too dangerous for a child out there. When his father died, Aerastarn was 17 years old. Alone and with nobody there to care for him he went off on his own, to find a better place to continue his life. In a different part of Riven he picked up the job of a carpenter. He became a journeyman that worked for the local guild for three to four years, where he made various wooden things, such as workbenches and their tools, bowls, decorations and vice versa.. Sadly, just before he could submit his master work piece to the guild, the workshop was closed down because it's owner went bankrupt. Aerastarn is a slightly skilled carpenter, but not a certified one and therefore may not start his own workshop. Aerastarn is a hard-working man. His skin color is slight brown, because of being outside all day long. He's quite tall for a human, about 180 cm. His eyes are small, grey, and his nose is a tad large. His face is dirty and worn. His hair is short, and light brown. He does not have any facial hair whatsoever. He's not the richest person in the world, far from it. He's suffered various food shortages and as a result, is a bit skinny. Miraculously, he survived the plague which killed his father. He's rather shy. He can be egoistic at times, and it's easy to get him mad. Aerastarn tends to wear dark-colored trousers with solid sandals, a lightly-colored undershirt with long sleeves with a brown shirt on top and often chews on a twig of wheat or other plants similar to grass. He can be easily recognized by the light brown diagonally-worn scarf. He's not skilled in many things, nor very strong, despite years and years of hard work on the fields. His favorite food is stew. He hates all animals, except chickens. Aerastarn is a terrible swimmer and nearly drowned at least three times. He doesn't mind people, except for when they touch his belongings. Money is important to him. He's had a broken shoulder when he was 9, and he never fully recovered. It makes creaky sounds when he moves it and sometimes it badly hurts. Aerastarn is fairly neutral and minds his own things. He'd love to be more successful in life but sadly the Gods don't seem to like that idea. As of now he's 23 years old. What is your Character's ambitions?: There's no real ambitions, he just has to survive and hope for a better future. What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc):The axe, it's a versatile tool as you can use it to cut wood, but as a weapon as well. What is one of your Character's most skilled talents?Carpentry. A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format): Other Information about your Character:Doesn't like being really close to other people, therefore never got into any relations. Doesn't want that anyway. And, he likes to talk to himself, often not noticing it though. Open-Response-Questions Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? I am walking on the path, when suddenly I hear screams for help. On the side of the road, under the shades of a great oak tree, I see a small blonde halfling being treatened by two warriors. I stop and stare at them for a moment, wondering what to do. All of a sudden the guards tell me to move on. I awkwardly decide to run past them quickly, on to wherever I was going. I don't really care about the sorrows and pains of others. Like that one time when I was young, when I walked through the forest near the village. A poor, exhausted-looking man ran past me and tripped on a root. He looked at me with a sad face and begged me to help him. I hesitated whether I should help or not, but just before I could decide I heard horses coming my way. Turned out the local village guard was looking for the man because he committed a crime. I saw him get dragged away by them, screaming, struggling. I looked away. Few days later I saw the man again, in the village. He dangled from a knotted rope with a rather purple face, and his neck in a strange and impossible angle in relation to his body. Dead. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? "'Ello there, merchant. What've ya got to offer me? The merchant shows whatever he's selling at his market stall. On the table I see small metal decorations, buckets and other metal tools. "Ah, okay. Well, don't need any 'o those. Got food, by chance? No? Pity. Well, I'll go somewhere else, then. Bye." I walk away, not looking back even once, finding some other place to buy edible stuff. Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: I just stumbled upon this decrepit hut. It doesn't seem much, but there's nobody around, so I might want to have a look in there. [laughs quietly] Well, let's see.. Hm, let's look around the house for a bit. I wander around the house, look below bushes and behind trees, to check if there's nobody around that could possibly spoil my discoveries. Hm, certainly nobody near. Well, let's go in, shall we? Door's not locked. Good. I open the door, and with a bit of force the door opens with a creaky sound. I walk in and close it behind me. Well, there we are. The first thing I notice that it's dark. Very dark. I open the door again, to let some of that precious daylight in. It smells like rotten vermin here. I look at the remains of a rat somewhere next to a chest. A chest. Neat. I look around once more to check if there really isn't anybody around. I try to open the chest. Oh, not locked either. Stupid man who hides his goods here, if any! I push away the old cobwebs with my hand and slowly open the chest... I see iron bars! They look really pure, in my eyes. Hm, and this silken sheet thing.. Something's inside it. I unfold it. Whoa!! A...Golden sword, seriously? I better leave this stuff here, it's probably cursed or something... I quickly but carefully put everything back where it was before I came in. I shut the door as I walk out, and quickly continue my way onwards.. Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? Ah, I'm very pleased to see you people! I've just come a long way from my home town and I'm rather hungry. Could I buy some food here? I grab a spare Minas from my pocket and show it to the merchant with a tight grip on it. Merchant: Come. I might have things that will interest you. I then follow the merchant into the camp, to stop at a rather clean and nicely decorated market stall. Unusual. I browse through the goods and find some cheese and bread. "I'd have that chunk of cheese and a loaf of bread." Merchant: "Sure, price is two Minas each!" "Can't you go a bit lower? I'm but a poor man! How about 3 Minas total?" Merchant: "Hmph, okay. Last time I'll do this for anybody, I swear!" He hands me the goods I bought and I give him three Minas instead. I thank him and say farewell: "Goodbye and thanks for the food, merchant! May our fortunes rise and fall together! I leave the camp with a smile on my face, because I just managed to save a Minas. Much money for a poor man. You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: I sit in the tavern, the Drunken Goose. This village isn't large but as pretty much every village, it has a tavern. Sipping from my foul beer, I hear the town crier's bell, and him shouting 'Hear ye, hear ye!'. I finish my beer and walk outside. Just before the end of the message he is spreading. "...and thus the town guard will soon come to publicly discuss what we should do. Thee may join them in their mission to slay these threats to our village!" I hear and walk back to the tavern, to my miserable room. It's getting late, dark, and I'm tired of drinking too much. The next morning I wake up with an immense headache, with a sick, miserable feeling in the lower parts of me body. I disregard all of this, dress myself and walk out the tavern. As the town crier said, the local guard is publicly discussing what they could do against the bandits. The head of the guard, a short man with a mighty black beard and a smooth black velvet hat, speaks: "And what are your opinions on this plan, Tay? Someone, probably Tay, replies "I'm absolutely confident of this plan. I am sure it'll work fast enough. But we may need to gather some soldiers for this task." Tay glares at me and a few other people standing close by. "How about you there, young lad. You seem like a worthy man of such a task. What are you capable of? I look in Tay's cold, sunken eyes. His beard is red, his face is wrinkled and littered with scars. I speak up to him in fear of consequences. "Uh.. I can handle an axe and other basic equipment. I'm but a basic carpenter, not even a certified one! And I have a bad shoulder." Tay thinks about it. Finally, after some time that seemed like hours to me, he said: "No, you aren't good. How foolish am I to think you were a good fighter!". He looks away from me, and at some other poor sod standing next to me. "You, what can you do?" As Tay's voice fades away in the distance I walk away, back to the tavern. I don't want to fight anyway. There's a great death risk at these kind of jobs, and I sure want to live on a little bit longer. Back at the tavern the innkeeper lets me try all sorts of cures against my hangover, of which none work. Another few days later I hear the town crier's bells again. "These proud men have successfully defeated the bandits, and therefore they are awarded with a reward of 100 silver Minas each! Praise them!" I shake my head and leave the village. ((I hope (again) you accept me. I've precisely followed the instructions you gave me in my previous application and tried the best I could. I've worked on this for a long time, and tried to make everything sound right. Excuse me if I did things wrong according to the lore, the wiki is/was offline at the time I wrote this so I could only find some basic maps of a few Human kingdoms. Apologies, again. Sincerely, Snateraar. P.S. I hope it's not that much of a word wall, I've tried to make it as reader-friendly as possible.))
