The Greater Argentine Federation - War preparation post In the Argentina homeland a political chaos ensues following the ridiculous demands of the reminding USAN states. People petition and protest for and against combat and defense, attack or negotiations, yet the one man who really matters is firm and determined. Presidente Peròn would not demolish what he had built. Immediately, a plan is laid out. The country needed to prepare; defense would be the only plausible strategic option. The defense and military spending is dramatically increased and TAM-II, Sol-1 and Pòn-11 factories work overtime and pump out record-breaking amounts of hardware by the day, being supplied to the growing army. Currently at a mere 350,000 frontline personnel deployed along the Northern borders, an additional 400,000 reserves are called in and begin new training with the various equipment and methods of the Argentine army while another 400,000 reserves are put on standby and ready to be called in. A goal of 500 Sol-1s, 1,000 TAM-IIs and a Pòn-11 carbine rifle to be used by every Argentine soldier is near and new pilots and drivers are also hand picked from amongst the Argentine ranks. Meanwhile along the country's borders to the North, a massive fortification program ensues, deploying all available workers, engineers and architects, even some soldiers to construct bunkers, forts, artillery positions and basic airstrips. Supply lines are lined with guard posts and strategically laid to be harder to attack and to be advantageous for defensive guerrilla harassment. ((2 pages for all preparations, some of the heavier border constructions take 3)) The only problem was that the nation had little time to prepare. The USAN members needed to be stalled. A large company of hand-picked diplomats and ambassadors organize a meeting with the other nation leaders and begin a long process of negotiations and false promises, using the extremely over-complicated Southern American bureaucratic system to slow the negotiations down and find loopholes in potential agreements. They declare Argentina is willing to come to a solution ceding land yet what land will be ceded is very vague and requires further negotiations, thus further dragging out the inevitable conflict. Whenever the opposition's representatives threaten with war, they are duly reminded that Argentina is engaged in a defensive alliance with Indonesia which is still valid and thus declaring war on Argentina would mean declaring war on the Oceanic Imperium. Other more secret diplomatic envoys cross the pacific by plane to meet with Oceanic government representatives, asking for help in either troops or technology for the coming war, especially showing interest in borrowing some of the infamous and widely-feared Kiamat tanks for morale boosts. Morale is an issue in the Argentine army as is natural facing a numerically superior foe on a large front. If none of this could be possible, Oceanic army engineers and officers for training and construction could also be sent over. The diplomats are hellbent on pressing out some sort of aid from the Imperium in this time of dire need.- 287 replies

Digital, 2 things. I am already in control of Bolivia, so their armies aren't marching on me and also, Brazil is no longer part of the USAN since it's part of the Lusitanian Union (or whatever it's called) which at least has been RPed but I'm not sure if it still is. -

¨The Greater Argentine Federation With the annexation of the neighbouring states of Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay and Bolivia, Presidente Peròn officially declares the foundation of the Greater Argentine Federation. The Federation is based on the American system, granting reasonable autonomy and the right for each province to decide and enforce their own laws (the provinces will be the annexed countries). The capital and primary province will obviously still be Argentina and Buenos Aires, yet the new government form makes the nation seem less tyrannical and grants more freedom to its people, increasing over-all stability and happiness. -MOD NEEDED- An offer is sent to the nations of Peru and Ecuador, offering both the opportunity to join the Federation with the same rights as the other provinces/states and without the waste of either side's military lives. To emphasize the consequences of a blunt refusal, a sudden flow of military excercises and troop movement in the Argentine-Peruvian border, including a parade featuring the 100 new TAM II tanks fresh out of factories and still being produced and an air show featuring the Sol-1 equipped squadrons of Argentina, aircraft now numbering around 250. It is decided that the country should focus its economic resources internally for a while to stabilize the Federation, yet Presidente Peròn personally orders a last research project for now, wishing for the Argentine Air Force to be the spearhead of the Army and commissioning the Sol-2a and Sol-2b. The Sol-2a will be equipped with special anti-drone armaments, smaller missiles targeting more agile aircraft and being fired in larger numbers yet still capable of taking down the more fragile drone armadas of foreign powers. A new engine and wing design is also put in place, allowing higher speed and acceleration when the wings are bent a certain way yet also using hydraulics to extend them and allow for faster turn and roll-rates. The Sol-2b will instead be a ground-attack aircraft, using wider and specially-shaped wings to allow for further space for heavier armaments and more firepower. The wide wings also stop the plane from reaching too extreme speeds, the slower pace being more advantageous for the targeting and elimination of slow-moving or stationary vehicles and various other targets. Other features include a special pilot's helmet and visors allowing for higher-accuracy marking and target-detection and thus more precise strikes. This project will however be rather expensive and will drain the military funds of the nation for the period of research and testing ((5 pages each, the Sol-2a first and then the 2b)).- 287 replies

The Argentine Republic As Asia burned, the Argentinians advanced. The armed forces, now all equipped with the Pòn-11s and numbering 200,000 with the addition of the newly annexed Paraguayan forces move on the minor neighbours Chile and Bolivia. As all eyes rest on Indonesia and resources are already being shipped to their humanitarian aid, the invasion is a surprise. 125,000 troops cross the Southern border between Chile and Argentina, supported by 200 TAM tanks all newly serviced in preparation for the invasion. The troops storm across the easy battlefield of the flatter land there and begin sweeping up the country along the coast, calling in artillery and air strikes when stuck fighting hard pockets in the numerous mountains and complicated territory of the nation. The advance slows after the initial surprise attack and the Chilans start fortifying but the advance never grinds to a complete halt either, taking the country kilometer by kilometer. Meanwhile, in Bolivia a smaller force of 75,000 infantry and 100 TAM tanks cross the border early in the morning, supported by the nation's 5,000 Portadores elite veteran unit when meeting hard resistance. The flatter lands and plateau of Bolivia make it ideal for artillery, and so large numbers of units are deployed behind the line of the Argentine advancement, pounding down on the Bolivian defenders when the 50 Sol-1s aren't. On this front, advancement is not as slow as in the tough terrain of Chile, but keeps a steady progress. The Argentine government begins research of a new tank, the TAM-2, adapted with a higher-quality turret and gun and with newer armour and weapons systems, including a small rocket pod for the destruction of lightly armoured vehicles and anti-personnel vehicles. The tank will also have a lighter anti-personnel version which deploys heavy machine guns instead of cannons and rockets and which will use wheels instead of tracks to achieve greater speeds. ((4 pages)). Meanwhile, the air force also initiates an anti-drone training programme which studies the behaviour and possible counter-tactics against the popular drone aircraft deployed en-masse by other nations. This is a continuous training programme and includes a small group of observers and researches focusing on finding the weaknesses and flaws of the various new drone models across the globe. Presidente Peròn also sends his condolences to the Indonesian and Indochinese peoples and condemns the Chinese government's actions publicly.- 287 replies

Eh, the whole drone armada thing worries me, really. The fact that this tech is also being produced so quickly is more serious than the actual advancement - the fact that these new designs are produced in the hundreds after a few pages is quite exaggerated and scary to be honest. Having hundreds of those drone planes capable of beating actual pilots in dogfights on one carrier and being able to be launched faster than any normal plane seems a bit O.P. to me, but meh, maybe I'm just being a bit hysterical. I just don't want something like where everybody has their own super weapon stand-off which kills RP like we had with those satellite weapons and biological bombs and etc. -

I'm very worried that some nations will just eclipse all others in technology and then proceed to insta-destroy all other armies from like 10 miles away with super space Jets and such 'advancements'. It seems this will happen with the current technology system where everything is basically unlimited and built in 5 pages or less. -

The Argentine Republic Uruguay had finally fallen. After several months of steady advances, the Argentine Armed Forces had finally met proper resistance when the Uruguayans fell back into their capital Montevideo, their backs to the sea and ready to make a last stand. Continuos air strikes and artillery barrages had not been sufficient to demoralize and kill the stubborn survivors and so a surprise attack was launched instead. The 4th army group, consisting of about 10,000 soldiers had boarded Argentine naval vessels further down the coast and in the middle of the night stormed the beach of the city in coordination with the 1st and 3rd army groups attacking from the city's other main entrances. After heavy fighting for several hours the Uruguayan command finally surrendered, realizing its doomed state and accepted the Argentine terms of annexation. As around 70,000 soldiers sweep the country clearing rebels and resistance and maintaining order, Presidente Peròn appears before a crowd, declaring that the time of Greater Argentina has finally come. Uruguay is only the beginning. As the active frontline personnel reaches a new 150,000, a new army group is assembled, consisting of 20,000 of the veterans from the recent war, many fresh from the battle of Montevideo. This group, called the 'Portadores de sol' or simply 'Portadores' for short will be the core of the army, the best supplied and most experienced, recruiting only from soldiers with experience or who show impressive talent. Recruitment of normal infantry continues as nationalism keeps rising and the vehicles and tanks lost in the battle for Uruguay are replaced with newer models of the destroyed tanks, sometimes customized or with slight modifications from the original tank/vehicle bought. As soon as the Sol-1 starts production the few jets lost in the conquest will also be replaced. As the other countries of the globe initiate their own weapon and armour projects and production, so does Argentina, beginning work on a new locally produced carbine, compact and adaptable to numerous different scopes and add-ons and designed to pack a much harder punch than previous rifles, to penetrate armour and pass through objects blocking the bullet's path. The extremely customizable rifle will be perfect for the variating combat of South America where mountains, jungles and plains are all battlefields that the Argentine forces will have to adapt for. The new carbine will be named the Pòn-11 and is scheduled to take around ((4 pages)). The Argentine economy gradually grows as investors search for new cheap manpower and factories to produce their products after the blockades and tensions in Asia and the West forces them to look elsewhere for investing. Presidente Peròn welcomes the founding of new companies and factories by offering lowered taxes and prices for foreign investors looking to buy land and establish their company in Argentina. Diplomatic negotiations with the growing Indonesian superpower is begun in secrecy, proposing a defensive alliance and trade agreements for the better of the two nations. The diplomats sent to Jakarta also present the possibility of sharing researched weaponry designs in the near future. If the proposed agreements do not meet the Indonesian state's expectations or wishes a counter-offer would be considered. Presidente Peròn begins the expansion of Buenos Aires, maintaining the historical architectural style of the city by putting in stricter maintenance laws and by encouraging the Argentines to embrace both modern and previous history through propaganda and campaigns. In the outskirts of the city new and more modern architecture starts to sprout up, slowly creating a city with a calm and historical architectural style in its core surrounded by more modern and evolving districts, creating a unique feel for the city. Hopefully this will encourage pride and tourism and centralize the population further. EDIT - MOD NEEDED: A peaceful proposition is sent to the nation of Paraguay proposing that it be joined with the nation of Argentina. The countries' linguistic and historical similarities are pointed out and the country would retain limited local autonomy under the rule of the Argentine. No threats are mentioned but troops and vehicles are moved towards the Paraguayan border with little secrecy, implying what might await it the nation if the proposition be denied.- 287 replies

The Argentine Republic During the time of economical crisis that had shocked Argentina after the early 2000s, more radical national movements arose and gained more support as the conditions worsened. Many encouraged a return to the South American dictatorship of the 1980s, encouraged by dreams of a Greater Argentina. These movements reached their climax March last year and when the country narrowly missed a civil war and corruption within the government was exposed the people lost their faith in the government and elected Pedro Peròn, the head of the army and most powerful man within the country as President. Peròn quickly established a military dictature, maintaining the republic only by name as senators' powers are removed. Keeping most rights and privileges for the Argentine people to enjoy and to keep his people happy, Peròn also began a rearmament program, investing in the country's already significant military industry to enlargen factories and research centers. 30,000 recruits join the military, all nationalists inspired by the new government and begin training in the mountains and plains of Argentina. Now was Peròn's time to strike, the world's eyes were set on Indonesia and India and on the peace conference in Washington and any of his actions would not be the spotlight in the news. Thus, tanks and aircraft are moved to the Uruguayan border posts along with 70,000 infantry. Because of the two countries' peaceful and long-lasting good relations the invasion is a surprise to the weaker Uruguayan armed forces and taken as a stab in the back. Seven groups of 10,000 soldiers in battalions cross the border early in the morning after short but effective air strikes targeting the few military bases and convoys of Uruguay. Only after the troops have taken significant ground and the first military bases have been secured is war officially declared. As the Argentine steamroll continues, fresh troops are sent to maintain order in occupied territory. Meanwhile, back home in Buenos Aires a group of the country's best aerial researches and military designers are unified with the purpose of redesigning the Mirage jets the country's air force currently has in service and tweaking them aerodynamically, whilst also inserting a more powerful engine and an all-Argentine weapon's system. The new jet will be called the Sol-1 and is the first step towards the country's military's independence from weapon imports. To deal with the country's economic crisis several reforms are taken in place, using the practical full authority of President Peròn to root out corruption and to remove overcomplicated bureaucracy on the lower levels while also cutting expenses and slightly raising taxes. Attention is however all on the invasion of Uruguay and many citizens pay these changes not much heed as the media successfully manipulates the average Argentine's view of their government to a glorious military power instead of a struggling country economically. The ambassador of Argentina shows up at the Washington peace meeting slightly late and looking annoyed at having to partake, saying little and showing less as the Asian situation interests the Argentines little. He has rather been dispatched to counter any opposition that may be raised to the Argentine expansion into Uruguay and to observe the other nations' leaders and policies, keeping a careful eye on the Lusitanian representative.- 287 replies
