Out-Of-Character Information Please fill out the following questions as accurately as possible, and ensure the essential details are accurate. Main Account Name: Thornrose Alternate Account Name: JarsofPickles How old are you?: 20 Time-Zone: GMT Yes. What previous experience have you had in role-playing?: I have role-played in paragraph format outside of minecraft for around eight years. I am also an aspiring author and I currently have a story-in-the-making posted at wattpad if you would like to see the quality of my writing. How did you hear about the the Lord of the Craft?: I've seen it around the forums on Minecraftforum.net, and I've had friends playing for a while. Link any applications that you have previously made for the server: None, sorry. Have you posted this application on the Minecraft Forum? If not, then please do so (link above): Yes. Have you read the Elven lore, and shall you ensure you make use of it and follow it in your biography?: Yes, but I can't guarantee that it will be mentioned too often. I find it hard to reference other writings in biographies. Definitions In your own words define the following terms. Do not take any definitions from elsewhere!: Role-playing: Roleplaying is the act of writing cooperatively with other users to form a fictional world and story, and interact with it and other characters. Meta-gaming: Metagaming is the act of using information that your character does not know or cannot know in roleplay; ie, seeing someone say "She's secretly pregnant" in OOC and then telling others IC that this person you do not know IC is pregnant. Power-emoting: Powergaming or power-emoting as you call it is the act of making your character do something or making it seem as though they are all powerful. For instance, "Mary jumps into the fight and instantly overpowers all the people in it, dusts them off, and asks them what's going on" or "Mary blocks the way out and smirks, for there are absolutely no other ways out and now John is trapped" or "Mary pins him against the wall". Neither of those are allowed because they do not give other characters a chance or a way to respond and/or stop them and/or roleplay in kind. Another kind of powergaming is "Mary jumps twenty feet in the air to catch the ball". Not possible, not going to happen, or instantly overpowering others without roleplaying it out and seeing whether or not they would are all ways to powergame. In-Character Information: Complete the following biography on your character: Full Name: Nova Tarre Current Age: 22 Gender: Female Race: Human Past / History: Nova grew up in a forest with her parents, Tamriel and Gorran. She learned an ancient language that she puzzled out of an obscure book as well as the common language. She grew up loving mushroom stew, ale, and tricks. As she grew she began to grow conniving, fueled by the ignorance of her mother and the disdain of her reluctant father. Soon she found herself kicked out of her home, for she was too much for her parents to handle. She found herself a fast learner of anger and shadows, and was shunned for her acerbic, sarcastic, almost caustic nature. She learned how to sprinkle sweetness atop her actions, how to coat her words in sugar that hid the venom, even as she learned how to do more harm with them. Shortly, Nova became a master of saying the most disturbing, hateful, harmful things in the most gracious manner. She also learned how to sneak around and dig up dirt on people she didn't like. Ambitions for the Future: Nova hopes to become powerful and gain as much power and money as she can. Personality: Nova is witty, but acerbic and caustic. She can smile at you in one instant and in the next wipe the blade that killed you on your cloak; this is the type of personality she has. She has not killed another without just cause thus far, but it is likely that one day, she will. Skills: Charisma, Speech, Sneaking, Lying, Languages Appearance: http://imgur.com/fFGJorr http://imgur.com/fFxcylK Any other details you wish to share about your character: Nova will have a Villain Application filled out soon. Open-Response-Questions Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point. ____ 1. Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards the Emperor’s palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do? Answer: Nova noted the cloaked figure and the guards. With a laugh, she headed towards the guards and began making a distraction for the other. Her fellow comrade-in-shadows would not do anything she disliked or she would find retribution for the actions, and it wouldn't be too hard to fix whatever was done. In fact, before they got anywhere past the inside of the walls, she'd be finding them and making sure of their intentions. 2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you come across a large clearing, in which sits a small cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits - they appear to be threatening him. You are armed with leather armour and an iron longsword, how do you react? Answer: Nova would smirk and dispatch them-- the guards, that is. Whether or not they felt ready to face her, they weren't. When both lay dead, she confronted the man and began negotiating the price of her assistance. Once she found out he had a decent amount of money, she killed him, too, and usurped his household, planning only to stay there as long as it took to find a new place. I already answered three open-ended-questions for my other char, and these weren't found on the 'second account application' form, so I figured I'd just do my favorite two. :) I know I didn't put quite as much effort in for poor Nova as I did for Velu but I'm a bit tired. EDIT: Someone was concerned that I may have been plagiarizing; I copied from my own app, so don't say that.

Velulaei'ilum'fih Aheral'Khel pronounced vehl-hu-lay-eh-eel-um-f-eh ah-hair-all-khell Nicknames: Vel, or Velu, pronounced veh-yl, or veh-y-loo, respectively. Age: 222 Gender: Female, last anyone checked Race: Full elf; Predominately, she is Dark Elf, but her lineage holds High Elf and Wood Elf in it as well. Status: Unmated, without any current love interests. It is hard to say if Vel will ever fall in love. But what does she look like? Height: 6'2" Weight: 140lbs, but that may drop to an alarming 98lbs after an intense carving session. Body Type: Slim, mostly athletic, but one may describe her curves as being more voluptuous than not. Eyes: Deep purple Hair: Pale blonde, but with streaks of pale copper that make it look more like a dirty blonde than not. It is definitely some of the shinier, glossier, softer, silkier, and longer hair to be seen on an Elf; she is much more 'seductive' that way than others might be considered to be. Still, she is modest about this, and keeps it bound in just a ponytail. She is proud of her features, but not enough to flaunt them. Skin: Twilight-sky purple Markings/Tattoos: Vel has one secret inking, almost in tribal fashion, of a pair of wings that covers her shoulder blades and the majority of her back. They are realistically done and with such detail that it almost looks as though they would be fuzzy to the touch, like down feathers. The outline of them is done in a slightly darker purple than her skin, and the inside is slightly lighter. Health: 100%; she is currently uninjured and has not gone through a carving session. She is however prone to bouts of self-neglect, extending to infections of small cuts due to lack of hygiene, as well as dehydration and malnutrition which serve to almost make her look anorexic. Personality: Vel loves nothing more to lose herself in her sculpting. It is more than a career, it is a way of life. Her eyes gleam when she gets the chance to practice this craft, and when she may not do so, she will pierce her ears and then let them grow over as soon as she gets the chance to carve again. She has manic-depressive episodes; she throws herself into her work during fits of almost manic energy, not stopping to eat, sleep, or drink for several days. When she gets to the point of collapse due to dehydration she may drink something as she works, and when she desperately needs sleep she chews herbs that help invigorate or refresh the user's mind to alertness. She only eats vegetables during these episodes, if she must eat anything at all. She often loses an unhealthy amount of weight when she does so, going from her usual weight of 140lbs to something more along the lines of 98lbs. She becomes mal- and under-nourished and must rest for at least a week after these episodes. As anything, there is a flip side to her manic episodes: the depression. It comes normally around the new moon, and lasts for a varied amount of time. For instance, one month it was two days, another it was two weeks. She becomes sluggish, lazy, and generally unhappy with herself and the world, more content to sleep the days away than to do anything productive. This is generally not noticed by anyone by herself, as her tendency to go into manic episodes as a child (around 18 when it first surfaced) was disturbing to her parents. She quickly hid both these episodes and the depression, knowing her parents would be worried horribly, but did not take any further notice of them other than to marvel at the quality of the sculptures she produced. She quickly attributed the existence of her creative periods to the work of a god, but none of the local deities truly called to her. Instead, she chose to attribute it to Nature itself, believing the entire universe to be, collectively, a deity: not that she knew of the universe, only the earth beneath her feet, and the places that she had tread before. She prayed daily, whether in her head or at the foot of her bed at night, to the deity that she had not named; and believed fanatically that everything around her was the work of the deity, and that her sculptures were gifts that the deity had put into her, and that she was simply a vessel for the skill necessary to create them. She ensured that her sculptures went to good homes, even though it made it harder to find people to sculpt them for. Most of the time she would work on the stone block exactly where the client wanted the statue to be, and would rarely need specifications for what they wanted; but if they had a vague idea of what they wanted, for instance an animal, she would sort through the gifts to find one. She knew her statues and statuettes as beings within the stone, calling her, calling her to cut them free. She worked backward from any other artists, going from something steadily towards nothing, and only when it was almost nothing did she have Something. She was, when not affected by an episode of either mania or depression, fairly lucid and reasonable. She had smiles for everyone, and just like most of the more unique, expressive Dark Elves found joy in tailoring her own clothing to express herself. She cared passionately about the forests, about the creatures within them, and about being allowed to do as she liked. If it is not clear, she suffers from Bipolar Disorder (also known as Manic-Depression) and slight Schizophrenia. When lucid, which happens to be somewhat around 65% of a month on average, she tends to find life rewarding but slightly boring, and tends to seek out socialization far more frequently. When depressed or manic, she rarely steps out of her home. Inventory: Naught but a dark wood sapling, which she must tend to before she seeks out a new home. She will not be trusted with it once the sapling has been planted properly, and must seek out a new home, most likely far from ArmaLuna's main residential area due to the disgrace. Further Details: Vel is likely to be without kin, kith, and home for a while. But what is she really like? Alignment: Neutral; she is, when lucid, more geared towards her survival and those around her. However, when not lucid, she cares less about herself and more about what her deity thinks of her; at these times she may be thought of as more Lawful Neutral than not. Deity: UPDATED: The Aspects. Religion: UPDATED: Druidism Alliance: Vel's loyalties are now most focused on Nature and the Balance. Nation: Vel currently resides as a citizen of Malindor. Home: Vel is currently staying around the Druid Grove, although she does not have a specified Home.. Job: Vel usually earns her living through her sculptures, but when she cannot, she works with herbs or mining. In desperate scenarios she may act as a hand-for-hire, doing whatever she can. She tends not to do so well at certain jobs, mostly farming, but she can kill beasts if need be without any undue harm to herself or others. Class: Herbalist, Sculptress/Builder, Miner, Fighter Titles: No true titles or deeds, however, she has acquired a household reputation for lovely carvings and being of fair price. Professions: She makes a half-decent Healer, she is, again, a Sculptress, and she often sells the byproducts of gathering carving materials; she is also a Mercenary. Special Skills: Herbalism, Carving/Building, Fighting, Mining Flaws: Despite her good judge of character, Vel will sometimes knowingly associate with unsavoury types simply to have someone to associate with that won't ask her too many questions and pry into her life. Aside from her Manic and Depressive episodes, there isn't too much that cripples her. But is she MAGICAL? Current Status: Silenced; or simply blocked. She's never attempted to access magic, nor has she ever been trained or heard mention of magic in her family. Her maternal grandmother's family does in fact have a slight tendency for magic, but none of them have become magic-users, nor has her father's father, despite the magic there as well; it could turn out to give her basic abilities, perhaps more if properly trained, but in any event she has never experimented nor given it a thought. It is unlikely that she will ever learn of any inherent magical abilities. Arch-type: Unknown Sub-Type: Unknown Rank: Unranked Weaknesses: Unconfirmed, but her family's magic has been more apt to come out at night, especially on full moons, whereas it is usually next to dead during the day. Strengths: Unconfirmed, but her family's magic has been more akin to unintentional, minor illusions and the occasional unexplained quick-healing scrape than anything else. Current Spells: Not applicable But does she fight? Fighting Style: When fighting, she prefers to use weapons, but she has learned a rudimentary form of unarmed martial arts akin to Capoeira, which is a Brazilian martial arts technique modelled after a dance form. Trained Weapons: She has been taught to use any type of sword up to iron, and most types of daggers, including a weapon akin to Sai and Kukri. However, she hates single-wield weapons, so she uses swords reluctantly. Favored Weapon: Sais, definitely; if not Sais then Kukris; if not those, then simple daggers. Archery: She can't be counted on in a war, but she's a decent shot when it comes to hunting and she might be able to save her own life with one. But what is her life like? Parents: Aelor'Kor Khel and Sirame Aheral Siblings: None Children: Definitely none! Extended Family: 1. Chirr Khel[HE:M] & Lakh Hroma[HE:F] 2. Gral'na Nhran[DE:F] & Baotshu Sarana[WE:M] 3. Hragtu Mayilu[HE:M] & Banla Triu[HE:F] 4.[DE:F]Ge'su Mraen & [DE:M]Nrahtu Aheral 2. | - [WE:M]Tahnu Sran 1. Ame'ito'Chirr Khel [HE:M] & 2. [DE:F]Amalti Sran 3. [HE:M]Brahki Mayilu & 4. [DE:F]Norna Aheral 4. |- Hileia Aheral[HE:F] 1. Aelor'Kor Khel[DE:M] & 2. Sirame Aheral[DE:F] | Velulaei'ilum'fih Aheral'Khel [DE:F] In case that wasn't clear, Chirr Khel and Lakh Hroma gave birth to Ame'ito'chirr Khel; Gral'na Nhran and Baotshu Sarana gave birth to Amalti Sran, Ame'ito'chirr Khel's mate, and Tahnu Sran, Amalti's brother. Hragtu Mayilu and Banla Triu gave birth to Brahki Mayilu, who married Norna Aheral, daughter of Ge'su Mraen and Nrahtu Aheral. Ame'ito'chirr Khel and Amalti Sran gave birth to Aelor'Kor Khel, who is Vel's father. Brahki Mayilu and Norna Aheral gave birth to Hileia Aheral and Sirame Aheral; Sirame is Vel's mother, and Hileia is her mother's sister. *[HE]/[DE]/[WE] refers to subrace: H is High, D is Dark, W is Wood, and the E stands for Elf. ** The F or M in the sub race section refers to gender. *** The more non-traditional, less Elfish names are because the first and second generations tended to live in mixed settlements with Humans, Halflings, and Dwarves rather than other Elves. The more traditionally Elfish named in the second/third generations lived in Malindor instead due to peer pressure and the feeling that the influence of the other races was beginning to have an ill effect on the family's offspring. ****If interested, PM me for a chart of exactly where each relative lived. ***** The eldest Elves in her family are Chirr Khel, at 785 years old, and Hragtu Mayilu, at 780. ****** Of her relatives, Tahnu Sran is of the most relevant to take note of: he is a well-known builder, and is actually the builder that Vel trained under. ******* |- (name) means that the person is another offspring from the same couple. Pets: None. But what has she done? Vel is the only child of two Dark Elves living in ArmaLuna, named Aelor'Ker and Sirame. She grew up in a cozy tree made to perfectly fit three people, for her family had realistic views and barely held hope for even one child, as they were less likely to conceive, the healers said, than others, even when everyone is more or less sterile because of Iblees' Curse. This was partially because of hereditary difficulty and partially because of how old her mother was. When she was born three days before her mother's 499th birthday, she was showered with love, but also overprotective tendencies. She was a free, wild spirit; her parents, while a welcomed influence, infringed on this in a way that made her heart itch. It was with relief that she applied for an apprenticeship to a builder that allowed her to live near her mentor instead of her mother and father's home. She quickly finished her lessons and moved into another home away from her parents, claiming that she needed the space to create her sculptures and blueprints and did not wish to burden her parents with the need to get a new home. Although it is unusual, she still kept in close contact with her parents, and did not reject them; as such, it was seen as acceptable by those 'in the know'. When she had begun to settle into the work of sculpting, fetching materials, and expanding her house into a large den an animal had abandoned, dug into the space between the tree's large roots, she felt at home. With a cellar beneath her house that she had rigged to be accessible through the house and hidden from outside, she felt secure about the safety of her things; and she often carved in her cellar, that any calling on her might not notice where she was. However, with most good things, her house had to end. An unfortunate fire caused by cooking inside being left unattended as she carved with single-minded determination burnt the tree to nothing. When the fire became visible in the earthen area beneath the tree, she panicked, fortunately having just finished her carving, and sealed off the entrance until it was cool to the touch and she heard others calling her name. When she was helped out of the wreckage, she wept bitterly, and began the process of saving what was left and collecting small still-living bits of the tree to replant in its place. She would ensure a sapling had begun living there before she could move on and try to find a new place to live. Her parents had agreed to take care of selling the statuettes to pay off the fees for having destroyed a tree in neglect, and she lifted her face to the morning sun with determination, ready to begin again. Her ears were pierced with purple stones. But does she have a picture? Yes! First Picture! I created it myself using Photoshop and Illustrator. Day to Day: Velu was propositioned by the Prince to sculpt the Lord and Lady, the two Aspects of Druid life. He requires five statues. When learning about the Aspects, Velu fell in love with the Druid way of life. It is the embodiment, she has realized, of her core belief system. Velu cannot wait to ask things to grow, for she is now aware of the ability; but as a Dedicant, she is not ready. Until then she will continue to carve her statues. Velu is now a Druid. Velu has learned some key phrases (the greetings, mostly) in the elvish tongue. Velu is irritated because she can NEVER find Milo, her Druidic teacher. Velu has gotten better at farming, a little, due to helping out with the crops. She now only loses 1/3rd instead of 2. Velu currently has no piercings. RELATIONSHIPS: None as of yet FRIENDSHIPS: She thinks kindly of Wolf Druid Ouity (she has not yet been informed that he is dead) She is fond of Hoppy She is irritated at Shroom Druid Milo, Hoppy's father

She enjoys carving out of stone, and often makes small statuettes in her free time, things she calls 'grotesques'. She also mines to collect her sculpting supplies when she has a moment; when she can't use stone, she collects clay. She is also good at building, and this is how she earns her living if she can't find work as a sculptor. If even building is not booming as a career choice, she has learned how to brew divine-tasting tea, and make poultices. She is a decent herbalist if no other can be found, and she has been collecting knowledge and techniques on all three of these skills as well as others, but her proficiency in other things is slight if even existent. [she may use a diamond pickaxe, a stone axe, a wooden hoe, a wooden shovel, and an iron sword, to give a better idea of the rating of each skill. Also, she cannot successfully grow two out of every three seeds for anything other than wheat: when seeds are collected, two thirds of those she attempts to plant are directly, immediately disposed of. If only one is being planted, an OOC 1d6 is rolled by the player: 1-4 is a fail and 5-6 is a success.] Appearance: Vel stands at a height of 6'2" tall, her skin a plum color not unlike the sky at twilight. Her eyes gleam like amethysts, her hair a pale blonde that belies the hint of High Elf in her family tree-- two of her four grandparents and four of her great-grandparents are High Elf rather than Dark Elf, and one of her great-grandparents was a Wood Elf. Her hair is long and silky and glossy, more so than many heads of hair, and very soft. Her clothing is black, self-tailored with stylish holes in it, revealing skin in many places, but none that would offend customs or traditions of others. Any other details you wish to share about your character: Her family tree stands thus: Chirr[HE:M] + Lakh[HE:F] Gral'na[DE:F] + Baotshu[WE:M] Hragtu[HE:M] + Banla[HE:F] [DE:F]Ge'su + [DE:M]Nrahtu Khel Hroma Nhran Sarana Mayilu Triu Mraen Aheral | | - [WE]Tahnu Sran | | Ame'ito'Chirr Kehl [HE:M] + [DE:F]Amalti Sran [HE:M]Brahki Mayilu + [DE:F]Norna Aheral | |- Hileia Aheral[HE:F] Aelor'Ker Khel[DE:M] + Sirame Aheral[DE:F] | Velulaei'ilum'fih Aheral'Khel [DE:F] *[DE] means Dark Elf, [HE] is High Elf, [WE] is Wood Elf, and |- (name) means that they are a sibling of the other offspring, IE Tahnu is Amalti's sibling. [__:F] means that they are female and [__:M] means that they are male. ** Of her relatives, Tahnu Sran is of note: he is a well-known builder, and is actually the builder that Vel trained under. *** Hileia Aheral is also of importance, she used to babysit Vel now and again, more often than the rest of her family could. **** The eldest of her family is Chirr Khel, at 785 years old, and Hragtu Mayilu, at 780. ***** Many of her family grew up amongst a mixture of dwarves, humans, and halflings up to the second or third generation, which is why they have non-traditional and less-than-elvish names. Those more traditionally named elves grew up in Malinor, near ArmaLuna or some of the nearby cities. If anyone is curious, PM me and I can draw up a list of where they lived as well. Open-Response-Questions Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point. ____ 1. As you walk through the deep forests you hear the sound of whispering and snickering. Upon inspection you realize that a group of High Elves are mocking a small Wood Elf child. How do you react? Answer: Vel narrowed her eyes, and listened in for a moment from behind a tree. So far unseen, she listened to the derogatory remarks and then stepped forward from behind the concealing branches. "So," She declared loudly, "You believe that you're any better? You belittle others for sport; that marks you as no better than Iblees, who to this day causes us strife! Apologize and leave before I tell your parents-- and teach you a lesson!" Vel had to suffer through hearing a few attempts at saving face, but she is older and wiser and is not afraid to say it how it is; the repeated threat of telling their parents eventually has its effect. When the High Elves are gone, she goes to the child and brings him to her parents, explaining the situation and that she needed to get back to work, attempting to hide the twitching in her hands. With infinite motherly tenderness, Sirame assured and gently soothed the child; knowing that he was now safe and that his parents would be contacted to let them know of the event, Vel fled for her carvings. She wished she could have helped more to reassure the child, but she had more important things to do. 2. Whilst wandering through the Elven forests you come across a frail old man with a walking stick. He collapses in front of you, falling to the ground with a sharp thud. Out of his pocket falls a small pouch of gold coins, which hits the ground and splits open spreading coins across the pathway. The man lies there, defenseless - what do you do? Answer: Vel gazed at the old man with a worried grimace. She was falling on hard times, and she needed the money... but she knew that her deity would not forgive her should she do this thing. With a sigh, she moves over to the old man and kneels next to him, slipping his coins back into his pocket and assessing his condition. It seemed that he had passed out, and she quickly gathered some herbs and broke them under his nose. The crisp, slightly bitter aroma of the flowers she'd chosen did the trick, and he coughed as he woke. She explained what she had seen happen, and he reflexively checked his pocket. When she asked if he needed help, he gratefully accepted her help to an inn. When she turned to leave, he stopped her and shook half of the pouch of coins into her hand. "I was going to spend it on trinkets," he said, "but you deserve it more. I can tell. No, no, keep it; humor me. I have always given to those who have given to me, and it pleases me to believe I have paid you back in some small way for your kindness." Pleasantly surprised by his generosity, she hugged him gently, and as he ambled off to a table she told the innkeeper about his good deeds. She gave the innkeeper a portion of what he had given her so that he might have a bit more luxury that night, and left with a lighter heart. With this she could get a new pickaxe, and thereby more materials with which to carve. Oh, the beauty of today! 3. Whilst traversing the Elven Woodlands, you come across a small clearing in which a colored carriage sits. A trader stands outside of it and calls you over, telling you of his wares. He points out that his carriage sells just about everything, and that he's willing for you to haggle for a price. What does your character do? (Please include:- item, haggling for prices and the discussion involved). Answer: Vel approached the carriage warily, smiling only when the trader explains his wares to her. Amidst his wares, a small sturdy chisel lay-- much like the style she usually bought, from a crafter that had just moved away! Her last one had just broken last night, and she was relieved to see another one. Suppressing the expression of joy that would usually have come over her face, she indicated the chisel. "How much?" The trader scratched his chin. "Well, it's come a long way, maybe twenty minas? It's of impeccable quality." His greedy smile convinced her that he was overcharging and she decided that haggling would indeed be the best route to obtaining her new chisel. "Yes, it is of good quality, but if you look at the handle, the crafter's name is A.E. He lived here but ten days ago, and moved not two fortnights away by foot; you haven't had to carry it far, and you were passing by the area anyway or you wouldn't have stopped just for a chisel. Eight minas." She injected a thoughtful quality to her voice, as though she felt she was offering him more than what it was worth. "Hmmmnhh, you are an usurper. I do have a family to feed, and if I let all my wares go so cheaply, I would be in debt! Eighteen minas," the trader insisted. Vel chuckled. "If I am an usurper, you are a charlatan, my friend. Ten minas would be enough to buy three of these chisels. I offer you far more than a fair price against my better judgement." The trader frowned. "I said you were an usurper; you are far worse. Your father is an usurper of usurpers! You would steal the sheep from a dying farmer at a coin apiece if you could! Sixteen minas is a fairer price than any you would suggest." With a shake of her head, Vel glanced at the chisel. Its retail value was probably less than what they were haggling, but it did not matter to her. "Twelve minas," she said simply. "Fourteen and not a penny less," the trader declared, "Or else I shall be driven out of my home for my inability to provide for my family." Vel smiled and began to count coins; the trader pocketed them happily and her chisel was handed over with a handshake; they both felt satisfied as she left, promising to tell her friends that there was a trader visiting.

What would be the best translation for "Moonlight-drinker"/"Drinker of moonlight"? Would Velulaei'ilum'fih be a good translation? I mean, I know it's more or less "Moon-glow to feed/eat" literally, but would it be interpreted as a whole as "To feed on moon-glow/moonlight" or "Moonlight feeder"?
