1. Dyonne Alusa's eyes rove over the pamphlet Avyndriel gives her, a deep frown spreading across her face. "How dare this outsider speak for our people as a whole! And so publicly no less. I will need to sit down with Nenar about this little friend of hers and about making such sweeping decisions for Nevaehlen without consulting anyone at all." She looks up at the Sun Druid, her expression having calmed. "Please reach out to your contacts among the Order of Xan, and quickly. I would like to make some clarifications with them. Be his ire justified or not, they should know this letter comes from no desk of ours."
 2. Realm PRO MC Name: CandleDragon Realm PRO Character Name: Dyonne Alusa Realm Name: The Isle of Nevaehlen Primary Realm Color: Green Proposed Tiles (Highlight 3 on the map): https://imgur.com/3L3KSMzhttps://imgur.com/3L3KSMz Realm Lore (could include previous roleplay posts showing involvement with the community) (1000 words minimum): In the realm of Elvenesse, a restlessness had begun to develop among the druids of the Father Circle. Disagreements over how well the nation was adhering to the principles of the Wild Green Faith had led to divisions, and the Circle decided to break away. The Bear, Lioness, and Shrike druids led the small band of druids and their families out of the nation to find a new home. On the 13th of Grand Harvest, 26 SA, the small collective found a home in the ruins of Vaelya, where they would remain until the fall of Almaris at the hand of the Mori. The abandoned city proved to be the perfect residence for the mali’ame. As they slowly returned the area to nature, people from all walks of life began finding a home behind their walls. The welcoming promise of a family was alluring for not only druids and druid hopefuls, but whitewashed orcs, lost mali’aheral, and aimless Norlanders, too. Together, united under the banner of the Wild Faith, these various groups worked tirelessly to protect their new home from the many threats that confronted it, from pirate attacks, necromantic incursions, and bandit assaults. One of the biggest threats the Vale faced was an attack by a well coordinated band of pirates who nearly burned the town to the ground. Despite the best efforts of the soldiers, the pirates were victorious and many of the residents of the city were mutilated or permanently scarred. Even despite this crushing blow, however, the residents rallied and actually rejoiced over the decay caused to their city, as it brought it closer to nature. Their wounds healed, nature regrew, and violent revenge was exacted on the pirates. All was well once again. During this time, however, the city of Ando Alur fell from the sky, dramatically scarring the landscape of the continent. The druids were horrified, naturally. While the battles to contain the horrors were fierce and many nations contributed, it was the Wicker Druid of Nevaehlen who led a band of heroes into the heart of the corruption. There, she sacrificed her sister, allowing the powers contained within the Aspect Stones to purify the land and put an end to the nightmare once and for all. Ominously watching over the event was the titanic moose mani, one unlike any mali had seen before. It was about this time that the Bear Druid began a restructure of the Vale’s leadership, with her as its absolute monarch. She appointed her future husband as her military general, or Valeseer, and retained the Wicker Druid as her right hand, or Eldarch. Eventually, she added a high elf, Dyonne Alusa, to her staff as the head of housing and stewardry, or the Keeper. This happened during an era of political upheaval on the world scene as elves in many other parts of the world began uniting anew under the flag of Malinor, a nation that was eager to annex Nevaehlen into their union. While the walls of Nevaehlen remained strong until the time Malinor collapsed, this external threat to the nation’s independence and cultural identity, along with the incident of the Matriarch’s own daughter inviting Azdrazi into their home, caused the sovereign of the Vale to start to develop a deep paranoia. Ally, outsider, and villager alike were viewed through a lens of intense scrutiny, with many travel bans issued on foreign nations and banishments of citizens taking place. Eventually, the unstoppable Mori force swept across the world, and the Vale was not exempt from their wrath. While a valiant effort was made by her residents, Nevaehlen fell, as had every other nation in Almaris. The people fled to a new home in Aevos, eventually settling in what seemed to be the decayed remains of a fishing village in the southern jungles. There, the people of the newly renamed Cove of Nevaehlen only enjoyed the shortest stint of peace before their lives were put in great peril. During a Norlandic coronation ceremony, the Valeseer, whose title was of course changed to Coveseer, ended up upsetting a dwarf who was attending the event. The ensuing altercation led to the Norlandic government issuing a punishment on the dwarf, removing his hand. The response of Urguan was swift and brutal, sending waves of soldiers to exact revenge upon the mali’ame of the Cove. Now with most of the strongest soldiers of the nation dead or banished, the citizens were unprepared for this assault. Many of the Matriarch’s most trusted soldiers abandoned her during this time, and thus, the nation was even less prepared for what was about to come next. Just south of Nevaehlen rested the Silver State of Haelun’or, which had just elected a new leader, who was, ironically, a distant relative of the Matriarch. The Keeper of Nevaehlen, being well aware of the behaviors of her former home, visited him to make an attempt at peaceful relations, offering her skills, knowledge, and alchemical discoveries in exchange for what the residents of her new home sorely needed: peace. While the citizenry of the Silver State rejoiced at the opportunity to engage in the interchange of knowledge, their leader had other plans. Just as Dyonne feared, they assaulted the Cove, slaughtering, kidnapping, and destroying. It was during the ensuing battles that the Matriarch would vanish, leaving nothing more than written instructions for her son, his wife, and a few others to carry on after her. While the pair attempted to lead the nation to victory, the years of Nevahlen’s isolation had left them with only one ally, the distant nation of Norland. It was not enough. The Silver Empire of Haelun’or was born from the ashes of Nevaehlen’s defeat and the surviving villagers fled to Norland or scattered about to the corners of the world. It would be at this time that the new Matriarch would give up all as lost, leaving the son of the Bear Druid to guide the people now that they were without a home. However, he, too, saw the mission as fruitless. Doubting the unity and determination of the people, he announced their disbanding, only to be met with a firm reply from the survivors that they would simply continue without him. With that, the people of Nevaehlen turned their sights west to the abandoned city of Talar’nor, intending to return to their roots of freedom, reclamation, and kinship that had brought them together in the first place. Realm Government Structure Explanation: Nevaehlen, long having been under a stranglehold of overbearing and absolute authority, has elected to minimize the government power in their lives. Between the travel restrictions, which separated many citizens from their families and friends and made their druidic duties difficult, and the unilateral decisions made by both the first matriarch and her prodigy, the residents felt the freedom that came with being one with nature had been sorely lacking. They have concluded that a form of meritocracy would best represent their interests, with a select group of highly contributing elders being both the face of the nation and the ones whose duty it is to bring issues to the public for communal rulings to be made. The selected leading elders will then have the authority to make decisions based on the will of the people. Capital Builds (photos required): The people of Nevaehlen build upon the ruins of other civilizations, not wanting to disturb nature's balance with their presence any more than what descendants have already done. Below are examples of the sorts of changes that will happen organically and IRP through the actions of the Father Circle Druids and their allies. (Credit for original buildings goes to VoxyNoir and Laeonathan. Thank you for letting us use a piece of your work to push the server narrative forward!) https://imgur.com/iNmVbsS https://imgur.com/JhOyCCV https://imgur.com/bzYrtmE How does this settlement offer a unique niche not already found in an existing polity on the server?: While Nevaehlen may have lost its way as a community in recent months, the new settlement is a return to form, bringing back the original purpose of the community that attracted so many of us in the first place: a wild, untamed, and tribal fantasy unlike any other on the server. Haunting ruins, caves, and forests, playing as a part of this community allows for an uncanny aesthetic that is usually only available to those willing to play antagonistic personas, such as so called “spooks” or dark mages. With freedom from the usual posh hierarchy of most elven groups, the people of this group enjoy rites and rituals that to the uninformed observer may seem perplexing and animalistic, while under the surface offering a strong communal tribalism that emphasizes the firm unity of the community above all else. How does your settlement tie to the greater lore and narrative set by the community on LotC?: Ever since the days of Phaedrus, wood elves have longed to practice their resurrected culture and faith undisturbed, but only some have taken the step of removing themselves from the nations that make up the rest of the world to do it. One of them was Nevaehlen. Now a long time feature of the server, coming up on three years as a distinct and separate community, the Vale has been tied into the lore of many events, like the Ando Alur blight, and many nations’ history, such as Amathea, Urguan, Norland, and Haelunor. It is the home of the Father Circle, which is a historically notable part of the druidic community. Have you ever run a settlement on LoTC before and what experience do you have with leadership within roleplay communities among the current groups of players?: Not directly. However, I have been in a government position on what was called “The Eternal Concord”, which served directly under the Matriarch in Nevaehlen and a RO in this community for well over a year now. Do you understand the metrics for maintaining activity and the grounds for settlement removal, along with the standing polity cap? 5. Dyonne looks at the note posted by Delonna with a frown before leaving to find him. "It is urgent that I clear up this misconception." Dyonne runs back, attaching a little piece of paper to Delonna's: I would be happy to clear up any questions on the subject of my actions should these accusations be presented to me. Such serious allegations should be brought to me by anyone who doubts my suitability for this position.~Dyonne Alusa
 6. Dyonne waits patiently to hear the other candidates before coming forward and saying: "I, Dyonne Alusa, declare my candidacy for the position of medi'ir. I wish nothing more than for our cihi to enjoy the spread of knowledge of which recent disorganization has deprived us. Much like Mr El'siol, I wish to hear from every resident of Lin'evaral on what issues they believe to be most pressing. However, I will expect them to be willing to give of themselves in return. It is my determination to keep an accurate record of how each of our people's abilities can be put to better use so that the great Mali'aheral race can progress more expediently. "Firstly, we should not be constantly lacking in materials and we should have enough so that our residents do not feel in want, but can enjoy the fullest comfort that being Mali'aheral earns them. It has also come to my attention that many important positions of service have not been cared for diligently. Should citizens feel the same, I will be sure to work with these people so that they can be present to tend to the needs of elcihi more readily. Assuring the library is reopened and staffed will be one of my first matters of attention, followed by the protection of our precious winery. Some of the most disturbing issues I have seen aside from these are the lack of knowledge of elven in our city as well as the rarity of certain viable skills among our people. Once a catalog of abilities possessed by our people has been made, it will be my endeavor to ensure that as many Mali'aheral as possible are adept in necessary skills, magics, and linguistics. "Even without any position whatsoever, I have made it a point to know as much as possible of Lin'evaral's workings. If I am elected, my constant vigilance will pay off, for I will finally be able to act in behalf the greater good of our people. Maehr'sae Hiylun'ehya." Once she is done speaking, Dyonne carefully writes down what she said and places what she wrote near Talias' speech for all to see.

If not, then please do so (link above): Have you read the Elven lore, and shall you ensure you make use of it and follow it in your biography?: Absolutely Definitions In your own words define the following terms. Do not take any definitions from elsewhere!: Role-playing: Playing the part of another person outside of reality. Meta-gaming: Using knowledge you should not realistically possess during role-play. Power-emoting: Forcing an action upon another person during a role-play. In-Character Information: Complete the following biography on your character: Full Name: Dyonne Ahlusa Current Age:Forgotten (See Personality) Sub-race (if any): High Elf Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long): I was the firstborn of Anson Ahlusa and Iale from the family of Acilla, both of High Elf stature. Despite the wisdom and prestige that my mother's family carried, my father Anson always discouraged my interaction with them, describing them in only the harshest of language. I spent a great deal of time with my father's parents though, and they had a large part in my instruction and the molding of my personality. Both of my parents were born shortly before their parents could no longer conceive, so my parents begun having children very early. Quite sadly, though, my mother died while giving birth to her third child. My name was given me due to my small size at birth, a derivation of the Ancient word for short. My parents never talked to me about other races, often just viewing them as something to be ignored, but my grandparents had very strong views on the matter. They would often tell me the most gruesome stories of the evil held inside the supposed Elf killing Orcs and how all Dwarves were to be viewed as untouchables due to their filthy nature. They told me that humans were nearly as savage, and twice as untrustworthy. To them, other types of Elves were entirely useless beings. In between the outbursts of bile and hate, though, was often large amounts of useful lessons that would equip me for life in general. I gained a thorough understanding of the world through them and a deep appreciation for learning. Though my father tried his best to help us, his children, his fits of sadness over my mother's premature death only escalated over the years. In time, I could no longer stand to see him like this. Still filled with youthful energy and vigor, I took it upon myself to begin traveling in an attempt to really understand the world through my own eyes and observe firsthand what it had to offer. Ambitions for the Future: I left home with little ambition aside from the desire to learn. I quickly decided that I should undertake the task of charting the world, creating maps and logbooks for the benefit of my people and to determine how much of this information can be of actual use. Personality: I have a very logical way of looking at the world and somewhat unorthodox ways of using the information I gather. If information seems impractical or useless, I do my utmost to remove it from my mind. One such example would be both my age and date of birth. Birth was hardly something my family deemed as worthy of celebration. That combined with the fact that after seeing my father's pain I decided it unlikely I will wed or produce offspring, I decided my age was not something worth remembering. Being near immortal, I never bothered counting time. I am still filled with curiosity and enthusiasm, leading me to believe that I am still in my youth. I often try to find applications to information I receive. My grandparents’ bigotry never really sunk in, having decided from an early age that I only needed facts and that I could develop my own concepts of the world after experiencing them firsthand. While I share my people’s belief that we are the highest of races, I do not have any hate for the lesser beings as of yet. The morbid dread of Orcs that was instilled during my more impressionable years still lingers, though, leading me to wear a large amount of clothing while exploring for my own safety. I am strongly against physically interacting with anything I deem ‘dirty.’ Skills: Aside from a wide array of knowledge and some charting skill, I really do not excel in any areas of note. Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin): I am a bit shorter than what would be considered normal for a High Elf. My skin has a tint of gold and my thick, long hair is a shiny platinum blonde. My eyes have a purple tint and aside from my height, my physique is standard for a High Elf. I wear a grey cloak and metal boots along with a blue and green scarf while traveling to avoid drawing attention to myself. I carry a case on my back which contains my charts, notes and a bit of food and water. Though I rarely am home, when I am I tend to wear a soft blue tinted robe and go barefoot. Any other details you wish to share about your character: My character (I know, switching from 1st to third person, but it makes more sense this way to me) was designed to be very dynamic. My following responses are in line with how Dyonne will react to these events when I first began, but who knows what induce a change in character. Both me and my character go with the flow with little planning, so I haven’t planned how my character will develop over time. What would be the fun in that? Open-Response-Questions Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point. ____ 1. As you walk through the deep forests you hear the sound of whispering and snickering. Upon inspection you realize that a group of older elves are mocking a small elven child. How do you react? Answer: If all parties are High Elves, I approach with the following remark (Otherwise, I would most likely just listen, perhaps jotting down their conversation if I deem it useful knowledge): “Berating this child is hardly a productive exercise and is far from becoming of those of your stature. I would advise you to all engage your minds in more fruitful activities.” At this juncture, several different responses may come from the older elves, but the only one that would elicit a response on my part would be if one of them grabbed me. Being High Elves, it is unlikely that they would do so. 2. Whilst wandering through the Elven forests you come across a frail old man with a walking stick. He collapses in front of you, falling to the ground with a sharp thud. Out of his pocket falls a small pouch of gold coins, which hits the ground and splits open spreading coins across the pathway. The man lies there, defenseless - what do you do? Answer: I look around nearby for somewhere to sit. Upon finding a spot, I take a seat facing the old man. I pull from my bag my traveling log and begin writing, all the while occasionally looking up at the man. “While charting part of the forest, I found myself back along the pathway. I often enjoy stumbling upon such traveled paths, as this affords me the opportunity to to observe how different beings interact. I have just now encountered an older person who has fallen down, spilling what seems to be a sizable sum of wealth on the road. So far, he has not mustered the strength to stand and collect his belongings and he seems to be calling to me for help. I imagine this means he is traveling alone. If no one shows up soon, I shall continue along the path, hopefully running into someone I can inform of this man’s misfortune, after which I can catalogue his response.” However, if the man has the strength to pull himself up, I may follow him in order to determine what reason he has for carrying so much money. To avoid arousing suspicion, I would travel at a distance, all the while trying to avoid being seen by him. 3. Whilst traversing the Elven Woodlands, you come across a small clearing in which a colored carriage sits. A trader stands outside of it and calls you over, telling you of his wares. He points out that his carriage sells just about everything, and that he's willing for you to haggle for a price. What does your character do? (Please include:- item, haggling for prices and the discussion involved). Answer: “I would like to purchase both paper and books from you in large quantities along with some feathers and ink for writing.” I say to the man. “How much would you like?” He asks me. “How much do you have?” I respond. After he tells me how much of what I need he possesses, I calculate the price such things would cost in this area and offer him a price for the lot. He, of course, denies the price and offers a higher one. Staunchly I decline, referring once again to the price I set as the highest I will pay. Depending on his desperation to make money, he will either give me what I want for the price I ask or respond with saying “I don’t think you understand what haggling is.” In such a case I would leave the carriage alone, jotting down my interactions in my logbook as I go.
