Full Name: Tacitus Nightshade
Current Age: 19
Sub-race (if any): Southeron
Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long):
Tacitus Nightshade was born to the Nightshade family, a small merchant family from Ager. The Nightsahdes earnt their name through the peculiar and most likely illegal trade of a substance extracted from the nightshade flower. These transactions quickly made the family a fortune and the Nightshades were able to expand into more appropriate, and more importantly, legal forms of trade.
As second son to Merchant-Lord Irenicus Nightshade, Tacitus was not heir to his father's buisness. He never developed a deep bond with his father whose attention was focused on bringing up his eldest son. For this reason Tacitus was sent as a child to serve the Chapter of the Lion. The Nightshades having grown into quite an influential family, Tacitus served as squire to Ser Petyr Green. Having now completed his training Tacitus awaits with anticipation his upcoming vigil and with it his knighthood.
Ambitions for the Future:
- Becoming a knight and serving the empire faithfully by protecting the Crownlands
- Proving his worth to his father
- Once a Knight he hopes to gain his own small piece of land to rule and to start a family there Personality:
- Constantly seeking the approval of his father. He hopes that by becoming a Knight he might earn this. He will often undertake dangerous missions and tasks in the hopes that this might help him prove his worth both to his Father but also to the Chapter so that they might grant him his Knighthood.
- Extremely faithful to the Empire and the Chapter. Having never felt part of his real family Tacitus found a new one within the chapter.
- Honourable despite his family's origins, Tacitus is an extremely honourable man and values those that show similar traits. However more akin to his family's origins he believes that laws can and should be broken at times to serve the greater good.
Skills:
As Ser Petyr Green's squire Tacitus has learnt the many skills required to become a Knight:
- Use of the Sword, the Shield and the Bow

Open-Response-Questions Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point. ____ 1. Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards the Emperor’s palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do? Answer:
I shout: "Guards! In the name of the Empire, help me stop that man!"
At which point I move towards the suspicious figure and attempt to arrest them. Whether the guards choose to react or not doesn't matter I must safeguard the Emperor's life at all costs. If the figure decides to run I shall pursue them however I do not attempt to kill them as I wish to question them beforehand and would not wish to take the life of an innocent. 2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you come across a large clearing, in which sits a small cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits - they appear to be threatening him. You are armed with leather armour and an iron longsword, how do you react?
Answer:
Despite the danger I cannot leave this old man to fight these bandits alone. I first attempt to dissuade the bandits and if all else fails I stand and fight them. I cannot allow them to prey on the weak. I draw my sword and walk over to the scene.
3. You are standing within the mighty human capital when you notice a small man standing behind a colourful stall. You approach the stall and notice that the man is selling a variety of general goods - he says that he is selling just about anything and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you to haggle and choose prices. What do you do? (Explain: your haggling, items of choice and the discussion that happens). Answer:
I gasp as I come across the most beautiful sword.
"May I?", I ask the merchant whilst pointing at the blade. He nods with approval. As I pick up the blade I recognize it as a Renatus Guard Captain's sword. The design is elegant yet simple. An old blade, I can just about make out a phoenix emblem on the pommel. Too old to be used as a weapon yet I can feel it's balance and though rusted the blade is still sharp, a reminder of the Empire's great craftsmanship I tell myself it's an antique, it could serve no purpose on the battlefield-yet perhaps with a little work it can be restored. I give in.
"This truly is a beautiful piece of history you have here." The merchant smiles approvingly.
I offer him sixty minas for it, the same price I paid for my first sword, a fully functional one.
The merchant smiles at me.
"Like you said it is a beautiful piece of history, no?" Surely you can go higher than that? One Hundred minas"
I think about all those minas I had been saving up, saving up...for what exactly? Something like this to come along, right?
"Ninety minas and I won't go any higher."
The merchant smiles his greedy smile and extends his hand out to me. I shake it. Upon paying the merchant I decide to seek out my friend Belwas if I am going to restore this blade I'm going to need a blacksmith...
