  1. That would cause so much confusion and create many problems to make everyone reapply, 2hard2do.

I am in favor of Magic Applications simply because of how powerful Magic is. A smart Roleplayer with meh magic capablities could make mincemeat out of even the best IC Swordsman. I don't want Magic to become something commonplace or natural, because it really isn't that fun when everyone is a Mage or whatever. Yet, we need to do something about the cliques and elitism that has been going on with them.

  2. I feel like such a bloody jackass now. I mean, I always was a jackass, but now I feel like one. I do try to be helpful and nice to other players, though often impatience and frustration pulls through. From now on, I'll vow to not be such a complete jackass to new players(notice how I said new?) and try to be more helpful. I never even knew about the Wilds till now by the way; so we should get that fixed.

    Character Name: Reese

Does this character already have a VA (Y/N): Nope, though I'd be willing to get one if this was accepted.

I want my character to be turned into a Dread Knight (Y/N): My character will begin as an Accolyte if accepted, whos only goal is to become a Dread Knight. Reese is willing to dedicate his life to the order for no other reason then the fact that he wants to have power over others. Reese is a small, sickly, and disugsting creature. He's been pushed around and commanded by better men his all life. He wants to bring a portion, well, a lot more than a portion, of pain and suffering to those who seeked to bully and belittle him. Even if it means suffering endlessly in pain, though he doesn't quite understand what being a Dread Knight will do to him, he will pursue this goal relentlessly in a quest to overcome his own insecurities and lacking in everything both physical and mental.

I want to become apart of your group because: Playing as a Smith often gives a different style of RP, and while I love it, I also want to experience different things as a RPer; and being a Dread Knights ***** seems really fun.

What can I bring to this group?: Great Roleplaying, decent writing, and an open to anything OOC attitude. I'm never a crybaby about anything because it just ruins great Roleplay, so I won't be afraid to admit death/defeat, and I believe that my Roleplaying is above average at the least. (God I'm so Egotistical.) When it comes to Smithing anyway. I believe I can apply that skill when it comes to drama and interesting Roleplay fights.

Can you play nice, and be willing to sit down with someone and explain something politely and cooperatively if something goes wrong, or someone is confused?: No doubt, I enjoy clean and crisp Roleplay, and I abore slopiness/confusion. I'd be more than willing to help someone out if they're having trouble with something, it's what I'd want someone to do for me.

Edit: Just wanted to be clear, trying out for Acolyte possision.
  4. The Markarth idea seems best. At ffirst I was all for a Cavern-esque themed city that would look amazing, but now that I look on it, a small city that is enclosed by mountains would be great. The lower tiers could be the main Roleplay where the Guilds and Shops and such are put in, and as more and mre Dwarves join in, houses could be built upwards rather than downards. This would help centralise Roleplay as people would be hardpressed to climb up for Roleplay, and everything would be within easy reach in the center of the city. People could live in the top sections of the city, and that would sort of also allow building into the mountains a bit more.

  5. Yeah... not a funny joke about the female crafters, seriously. Anyway, gah....wall of text. For the love of all that is written, please break it up into paragraphs or something so it is easier to read.

My bad if it offended you, though it really wasn't my intention. Plenty of people make up jokes about Male Crafters/Gamers; I don't see why the same shouldn't apply to woman. I treat people equally no matter what gender, sexuality, or whatever(within reason.) Whether that's good or terrible, depends upon the person. And my bad about the wall of text. I always have that habbit on forums. I'll try to avoid it.

Gender bender is an informal term used to refer to a person who actively

transgresses, or "bends," expected gender roles. Gender bending is

sometimes a form of social activism undertaken in response to

assumptions or over-generalisations about genders. Some gender benders

identify with the gender assigned them at birth, but challenge the norms

of that gender through androgynous behavior and atypical gender roles.

Gender benders may self-identify as transgender or genderqueer, feeling

that the gender assigned to them at their birth is an inaccurate or

incomplete description of themselves; some are transsexual and desire to

change their physical sex through hormone therapy or sex reassignment

surgery. Gender Bender is also the slang term for connecting either two

female connectors or two male connectors by the use of an adapter in the

    communications field. -Wikipedia

    I grabbed that from

wikipedia, hopefully it is the correct definition so anyone who was

wondering can now know. (Since I bet more people then just him and I did

    not know what it meant.)

Oh, really? If that's what it is, I don't see why that's such a big deal. That seems to be an Out of Character issue which would have little to no affect IC. Though I don't see how it constitutes as an insult.

Also, just a note to the Admins/Mods. Thanks for responding so quickly. It's heartening that I/everyone actually gets a logical response quickly from the team; whether one agrees with it or not.

  6. Personally I can see where AiiM's anger was stemming from. Genderbending and cybering in my opinion are the two dirtiest things one can do on the internet.

Wait up, just a quick question. Can I get an exact defenition on Genderbending? Does this mean OOC pretending you're a certain Gender opposite of what you really are, or RPing another Gender IC? Because, anyone should be able to RP whatever Gender they want IC. Their is no logical reason why not if that is the case. What, is it wrong that some people want to RP another Gender? Unless their is RP that is sexually explicate(though I really don't know what the fuss about ERP is, some Americans are just such prudes) or completely illogical/stupid/breaking the rules, it should be allowed.

  7. Alright, seriously? I've read this entire thread and I find it a load of absolute crap. From what I've read on this thread, it seems someone was banned for being a Troll and "Cyber-bullying" even though, from the logs that have been shown, it looks like nothing of the sort; not to mention this was on Skype...on Skype for fracks sakes. I think that's a load of crap. No one should be banned for being a "troll" unless it directly affects RP for no good reason. If you don't like how people RP, don't RP with them! If someone is spamming you over Skype, well, you see. On my Skype account, there is this little button, I like to call him IGNORE. You can ignore someone's Skype Account very easily...I mean seriously, I have no idea why this is even an issue. Now, if it was on the server or via the forums, that's different, but over a platform that is not even related to LotC?  If I have an OOC dispute with a player on LotC that has nothing to do with this server specifically, why not let me/him handle it? I dislike this constant baby-sitting. Despite what some people believe, most of us are capable of acting with a moducom of self control. If their is a problem, one would think that we could talk it out like normal human beings. If not? Just ignore them. If the problem persists on the forums/server, THAN you can speak to a GM or Admin. I would also like to adress the people who make ban requests on others behalf. Don't do it. Even if you are personally asked by that specific person. If someone is uncomfortable with publically calling out someone who has been an OOC problem to them, consistently harrasing and insulting them, than it isn't much of a problem now is it? And if you report someone for something they said to another person without so much as a word to the people invovled, then that is just pitiful. Let people handle their own problems. Why the hell are you going out of your way to ruin someones ****. Some people are just so freaking sensitive. I don't think people understand the difference between a dispute, and a personal problem that someone might or might not have with you. Some people just need to realise, it's the internet, freaking deal with it. You're not going to agree with everyone, you might even flat out dislike people and/or their actions; but don't let it get in the way of your OOC judgements. Now, as for the event at hand, I think banning this Aiim person or whoever he is was wrong. While I detest trolling and people who can't act serious for more than 10 minutes, based on the evidence that has been shown, it seems that this guy was unwrongfully banned. I'm not saying this from a moral standpoint, I think morality is stupid and any desicions based on it are most often wrong, I'm simply saying this from a logical stand point. This V guy, or whatever the hell his name was, could have ignored, or de-friended, or done whatever to this Aiim kid. The fact is, he didn't. That is his fault, and only his. Not to mention, the evidence that has been shown to us so far has been far from "Cyber-bullying." It hasn't even been insulting. At the most it was light trolling. Hell, if we chose to look at it from a moral standpoint, this guy was insulting a complete jack-ass who tried to get nudes from an underage, probably insecure(I mean what chick would be playing Minecraft if they didn't have some problem right?), young girl. And if I happen to be completely wrong, and this Aiim guy turns out to be a literal jack-ass who's constantly harrased this V guy, (even though if it was on Skype it shouldn't really matter) that wouldn't be on me. It would be on the Admins and GMs for not releasing more information. The community is making a desicion based on what they've seen. You can't blame them for that, or even justify getting mad at the community about banning him, even if he completely deserved it. This is where transparency comes into play. The GMs or Admins shouldn't have to hide anything from the community; and I will admantly hold that desicion.

P.S: The chick thing was a joke. I wasn't going to add this but with the likely hood of a female player(feminazi) taking it the wrong way was just to damn high.

P.P.S: I was going to have another Post Script, adressing something controversial I said in my tangent, but I forgot what it was. So if you see anything besides the female Minecrafter joke, that's probably it.

  8. Oh yea, another thing. While the Nexus combat is really cool, it is really laggy. It made PvP literally impossible on my computer without Optifine, and even with Optifine, the skills like block, dodge, ripclose, etc, are allmost useless. Now, I play on a 6-9 year old Windows XP Dell, so it may be different for others; yet some tweaks do need to be made. I haven't experienced much in the way of server lag but it does sometimes occur; though with a server of this size both population and plugin wise, that is to be expected. So I'd really just suggest tweaking the Nexus Combat to make it just a bit less laggy. Though, I know almost nothing about Minecraft Coding so whether that is possible or not, I have no idea.

  9. As someone who's new to Lord of the Craft, I can atest to some of these problems. I will bring up what RacingBrother said. I made my application and was accepted over a month ago. I logged on, and I spent about 2-3 hours looking for RP. I finally gave up, logged off, and forgot about the server. I went back to doing what I had been before logging on. The only reason I came back, though I don't regret my desicion, was because of an OOC issue on the server that I had been frequenting previously. The problem I see with Lord of the Craft, is how unwelcoming it is to new players. No I don't mean the player base, the community is great and welcoming, I mean the overall server. When I started off, I was very confused. The chat system is rather difficult to get, and even know I occasionally have trouble, and aside from that, short of trying to look through the forums and the wiki, knowing what channel to go to for help, and looking for specific places where RP occurs is a huge hassle. I literally had no idea, and if it wasn't for me forgetting to change my skin, having someone remind me, and than having me help me out after I logged back in, I would have been completely clueless. Even now, after about a week of playing, I still find it difficult to find Roleplay. Why? I think that there needs to be an overall hub to the server. Somewhere, where people can get teleports, or some beginning Roleplay. Possibly have us respawn in some sort of city? I've yet to find another Dwarf to Roleplay with. Also, another thing. Their needs to be more descriptions on something. I just found out what the Wild Docks were, or, at least I think I know. Yes their is plenty of info on the forums, but frankly, they are way too confusing. And I've been navigating forums for what, 3 years now? What I might also suggest, is a sub forum, or even better, a tab on the top of the screen, next to Home, Apply, and such. Have that lead to a bunch of stickied threads where people can't post on/make new threads, and/or a completely different page. Just some starter guides on where to go to find Roleplay, how to gather specific materials, and a guide to the forums; because frankly? I have no idea what to do with the forums. I've yet to find a guild and I'm not sure on how Forum RP is done? Does LotC do FRP's? Or is the forum just for specific cities, guilds, updates, etc. So, to sum it up, make navigation and explanation easier for new members, and make it so that their is a bit more of a sort of "hub" for new and old players. Just my two cents as someone new to LotC.

    RP Name: Urathal Stonebeard

How skilled are you in regards to smithing?: In
my early users in Kal'Azgoth, I was taken in and thought by a Smith who
owned a shop. He thought me most of the arts of his craft, when I cared
to listen anyway. I have skill in smithing above the regular forgleing,
but not enough to constitute a full Blacksmith. I am eager to learn,
and wish to rise throught he ranks.

How skilled are you with your weapon of choice?: As
a young boy I often dreamed of joining the Kings Guard and fighting for
glory. In reality, things were very different. Upon joining the army at
Kal'Azgoth, I spent days upon days, training with weapons that I had no
intention of using. Though I grew strong and well trained with my
finely crafted Warhammer, which was the first thing that I had crafted
with my Master; when my enlistment time ran out, I left and did not look
    back.

    Reason for Joining/Bio:
I seek to join Da Bak Kadrel Barimmar, The Great Smithing Guild, for
many reasons. Possibly the biggest is because I wish to carry on the
legacy of the man who taught me. He was a second father to me, and I
repayed him by losing his house, and his smith. I wish to carry on his
legacy, and become a great smith not only to honor me, but to honor him.

    There
are other reasons for joining The Great Smithing Guild. Smithing is all
I know, it is all I've done that is worth while in my life. Without
smithing, I would be nothing. All I am is a strong back, and a pair of
hands eager to sharp metal into the most beatiful creations. I wish to
make this my life goal. I know that the teachers in Da Bak Kadrel
Barimmar, are the ones who must teach me. Who better to teach me the
skill that I was meant to learn, then the best in all of Anthos.

What Will You Add to the Guild?: I
am a great Roleplayer that can dedicate myself to learning all there is
about smithing. I will devote my time and energy to learning smithing,
and crafting an interesting story that is enjoyable for everyone to
read. I wish to create a story that will not only be enjoyable to read,
but one that will last for many ages after I am gone.

How active are you on the server?: I
will often be on once day, and I will ALWAYS be active on the forums.
If something occurs where I can not preform my duties, then I will make
sure to notify everyone of what I am doing, and how soon to expect me
    back.

    Definitions

    This
is simply so that we can get an understanding of how much you know
about roleplaying. Feel free to Google the answers, but make sure that
you write the reply in your own words, not another website / person's!

What is roleplaying?: - Roleplaying is when you act a certain roll, whether it's high fantasy, or an everyday thing such as going to work.

What’s metagaming?: - When you act on something you've learned OOC, IC, without taking the time to learn it IC.

What’s powergaming?: - Powegaming is whenever you act in a ridiculously powerful way. This is sometimes confused with Godmodding which is whenever you react for the other person, not giving them a chance to fight or say anything back. This is often confused and/or done differently depending on the server.

    In-Character Information

    Now
you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable!
Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to come up with
a character that you actually want to play.

What’s your character called?: - Urathal Stonebeard

What race are they (and sub-race)?: - Dwarves, Mountain Dwarves

What sex are they?: - Male

How old are they?: - 73 (in human years. He's in his prime as a Dwarf.)

Give us a brief description of their life - their story, childhood, family: - Urathal was born in a small mining settlement created by the Grand Kingdom of Urgan. His family was a regular one in the hundreds of familys that lived there. This was of course until the cave in. Urathal was a strange Mountain Dwarf. Though he enjoyed mining deep in the Earth like the others, he also enjoyed the outside. He'd often play with the other Dwarves, pretending to be a brave Dwarven Warrior. He remembered fantasizing King Thorin Grandaxe, labeling him as his best warrior, and his champion. Yes, all was good in Urathal's life. Those were the days, when all he had to worry about was the occasional cave in and a scrape with the bigger boys.

One day when Urathal had an argument with his mother, he was outside muttering angirly to himself. Suddenly, the grond began to rumble. Urathal immediately bent down as if he was in a cave in, but he realised he was above ground. He looked around confused and tried to keep his feet when he suddenly saw the mountain! It was shaking violently like the ground was. It was like an above ground cave in! As Urathal stayed low to the ground, away from any trees that could fall down and hurt him, he suddenly heard a massive crash, and it continued even after the shaking stopped. Suddenly, a massive section of the mountain seemed to cave in on its self. By god, it was caving in!

Urathal ran forward past the fields as fast as he could. By the time he arrived at the mountain, the shaking had stopped. As he arrived, he frowned. It seemed he'd arrived at the wrong spot, the exit was not where it should have been. He ran around for a bit, and after a mile he turned back. As he arrived at the same point, huffing and puffing, his face red, he realised, he was at the entrance! The entire thing had been caved in. Urathal ran forward and tried to pry away some of the rocks. As he pushed one away it began to shake a little again, and rocks began to fall, and as Uratahl succried away and fell down on his back, and the dust cleared, even more rocks were covering the entrance way. Urathal layed his head against the boulders and weeped till night fell.

Urathal blinked his eyes as he woke up. The past few months had been a blur. The mountain collapse, the hard walk through the lands of Anthos, trying to reach Kal'Azgoth. Arriving there, and instead of being helped and cared for, being thrown out into the street like a common street urchin. He had to beg for food just to survive. Days had turned into weeks, and weeks into months. Urathal was tired of it. He got up and walked into an ally, determined to make life better for himself. He took a wrong turn and found himself in an alley way that was a dead end. He turned around and found two Dwarves blocking his path. He asked them what they wanted, his hands balling up into fists at his sides. The two looked at each other and smiled knowningly, then they both jumped on Urathal.

Urathal did not remember much. What he did remember was fists flying, and feet kicking. He remembered his nose breaking and beginning to bleed, and giving a black eye to one of his assailants. He remembered being pulled away, he remembered blacking out as the assailants turned onto his savior. He woke in a comforatable bed, his injuries being tended to by a Dwarf with a Grey Beard and Large, Grey, bushy eyebrows, which all but covered his eyes. He was smoking a big pipe when he said, "That was the most pitiful display I've ever seen. You should be ashamed to call yourself a Mountain Dwarf." Urathal blinked his eyes confused. He'd woken up here, and the first thing this man said to him was an insult? "There were two of them," Urathal says defensively. The Old Man stared at him and gave a hearty laugh that sounded like stones rolling down a hill. "Yes, and they gave you a good whooping."

The Old Man tended to his wounds, as he closed his kit he said, "Where you from boy?" Urathal took a deep breath and said, "I was from a mining settlement sent by King Grandaxe. However, some above ground cave in happened and the mountain caved in. I was the only survivor." The Old Man looked at him in what Urathal thought was suspicion. "How come you were the only one that survived?" "I had been bad the other day, and my mother punished me by forcing me to go out into the sunlight." The Old Man accepted his lie readily enough, and as he was nodding his head he asked, "So you've got no where to go? No one to care for you?" Urathal nodded his head silently. "No one, no where."

The Old Man stared at him for what seemed like hours, suddenly he said, "How would you like to be my apprentice. An apprentice Blacksmith." Urathal shruggedd his shoulders. "A jobs a job." "You're damn right it is, and you'll be bloody thankful before I throw you out to those boys again." Urathal sucked in his pride and said, "Thank you..." "Gravelfoot" the Old man filled in. And so, Urathals life began. He woke up at Dawn everyday to tend the bellows and cook breakfest for Gravelfoot. He learned how to craft the finest armor in all of Kal'Azgoth, or so he claimed. One day, when Gravelfoot died, he passed on all his possessions to Urathal Stonebeard. In truth, Gravelfoot had been an old man when he took Urathal in. Much to old to be doing Blacksmith work. He had come to regard Urathal as a son, and he wanted him to have what little he owned.

Urathal closed up shop and hefted his Warhammer. He was dressed in his finest armor, and he had the most beatiful Warhammer he had ever crafted. He was going to follow his dream. He was going to join the Royal army, under King Thorin Grandaxe. When Urathal joined, things were far different than what he had expected. He had thought that life in the army would be magnificent duels in front of fair maidens, and hard work to hone there skills. Hardwork it was, however, there were no duels, and fine ladies. There was however, hauling large rocks up and down abandoned mineshafts. Hours upon hours of tedious training with not just the warhammer, the sword, and the axe as well. When his enlistment time finished, Urathal left, gladly.

However, Urathal never forgot his dream of being a famous warrior. Urathal trained day and night with his Warhammer. He explored all the land of Anthos, learning what he could. He still has much to learn, but what is the destination without the journey?

What are they like (personality)?: - Urathal is extremely loyal and will stick by his friends no matter what. However, he is often hostile, sarcastic, and cruel to newcomers that aren't Dwarves. He is sadistic, so he enjoys cuasing pain to others battle, often breaking many Limbs with his warhammer, before finishing them off. He is also kind to others that are less fortunate than him. He remembers what is was like to be orphaned, begging in the streets of Kal'Azgoth. He'll often hand little trinkets and buables to the neiborhood orphans, and he is known for caring for other small creatures that he finds in the tunnels such as Rats, Moles, and even the occasional cat when they wander into the tunnels and can not get out. He is a strong man, that will fight loyally with his fellow Dwarves and friends, but he is also rash and cruel.

What are their ambitions?: - He wishes to horde the most riches in all of Anthos, and plans to be a teacher to other young Dwarves who show potential in the arts of war and mining.

Do they have any special skills?: - He is tall for his kind, averaging at around 5 feet. He is also quite powerful, his strength honed by the years of military training and mining. He is heavily resistant to Magic, and has good skill in Blacksmithing.

What are their weaknesses?: - Sadistic, Cruel, often makes enemies quickly and often. He also has obsessive compulsive order, especially when it comes to his own horde.

Give us a description of how they look (not a screenshot yet!)?: - His hair is a dark red, which extends down to his long beard. He often dress plainly, when not in armor. He is built like a blacksmith and appears to be quite
