  1. Rotger wonders why he's having a civil (enough) conversation with Viktor before passive aggressively chuckling too. "The Brawms defenestrated one of our nobles, any Courlandic soldiers went against orders. The banners you present me in this neutral meeting ground (where is this?" he pauses as he puts the question through his mind, ") were stolen by the soldier we claim to have no affiliation with. So Haense is allowed to claim a royal murdered in their streets was not at their bidding when Hansettian nobles had put an axe to his back at the prior meeting, yet Courland is not allowed to claim disassociation from one rogue soldier? Typical hypocrisy. And we came to your gates with armour and shields, yet it was one of yours that attacked, and I don't think either party would be able to recall any of the 'threats' or 'murders' you describe so vaguely due to them being fabricated, PLUS I forgot to mention how you crucified some of OUR civilians a few months ago TOO, that being the reason Meric was in Karlsburg in the first damn place. The left hand of Haense apparently knows not what the right hand is doing, and vice versa."

  2. Rotger once more counts each side's crimes...

    Murdering a diplomat prince before any aggression had begun, kidnapping two noblewomen and a princess, butchering one with a mace, beheading the duke sent to discuss a peaceful resolution, attacking the next envoy, harassing Courland's civilians, people unrelated to the conflict.

    Being uninvolved in the Vanir raids (oh wait that's good) raiding Haense (oh wait we were attacked) killing the diplomat sent to our court. Because when you've done all of the second paragraph, you're definitely sending 'diplomats' to 'resolve' the issue directly with the King.

  3. Rotger begins counting on his fingers what each side has done...

    On one hand, murdering a prince in the streets who was sent as a diplomat, kidnapping two nobles and a princess, butchering one Lady with a mace, beheading the second peace envoy sent (a Horen, nonetheless) charging out to attack the force sent (ocne more sent with diplomatic intentions of acquiring the princess) and returning to Aleksandria to harass the uninvolved civilians ~ Haense.

    On the other hand, raiding the Vanir keep and stealing five babies - oh wait, it was made clear he wasn't affiliated with Courland any more... Never mind - on the other hand, attempting to raid Karlsburg - oh wait, the Courlanders were attacked, and simply defended themselves - on the other hand, attacking the 'diplomat' sent of course with no intention whatsoever to attack the king, if he were to have been granted court, after Courland has already lost so many ~ Courland.

    "And we're meant to be paying ten-thousand minas?

    I've never met anymore more imatuture, biased and whiny on the server than Vege. He openly raided a capital 5 times in one day, has lied to staff members on multiple occasions including the Riga region situation, his average roleplay from what I've seen ends up turning into a meme and he is extremely salty when it comes to disagreements from personal experiance. From what I've seen Vege hasn't changed in the last few months either. -1

    ...anymore more imatutre, biased and whiny (run SearchForNoun.exe)...

    Jokes aside, you clearly haven't seen much of his roleplay ever, let alone in the last few months. Truth be told, I wasn't sure if he'd step up and be the king we'd need, but he's filled the massive boots we'd set in front of him aptly. It'd be like if I were to judge your roleplay, from my perspective, it's pretty shocking. Roleplay capabilities aside, Joe definitely has maturimaty to set IC motives aside and act responsibly in the situations GMing LotC would put him in. Your accusation of his baised is indicative of your bias against him, tyvm.

  5. Rotger Fournier has taken up the mantle of wondering how such peaceful conversations can occur between Norlanders and Dwarves reading the same text within talking distance of eachother, before then thinking about how absurd it is that the Dwarves are refusing to even offer the attempted(?) murderers, regardless of whether or not they are affiliated with Urguan, on top of that why both sides seem so war-hungry after just dissolving the Empire. A curious, lengthy thought.

    THE GOLDEN EAGLE

    “Honorem et in omnes."

    ~Glory in all.

    The Golden Eagle

    Founded in 1597, the Order of the Golden Eagle was created to officiate the Knights of the court of the Kingdom of Courland, taking elements of the old Orenian system whilst incorporating them into a more well-intended system of protection and justice. Headed by a Grand Knight (a position on the privy council of Courland, one selected by the the reigning monarch) the Order also seeks to assist the Kingdom and it’s people in any way a man of elevated status finds himself able to do so.

    Organisation

    As the Golden Eagle was created to officiate all knights of Courland, the Order is split into two branches;

    The landed knights are more traditional in that they may raise levies from their entourage, distribute their land as they see fit, and in return uphold the rules and rites of Courland as best as they can, including those a vassal should show their liege lord such as acting always in their lord’s best interests and representing them when outside the nation;

    The unlanded knights are those assigned to the Kingsguard, or who have done a worthy act for the kingdom yet find themselves unable to maintain land. The Kingsguard are sworn to protect the King and his family in their duties as their primary derivative above acting chivalrous and just when in the presence of others.

    Chivalrous Code

    All knights must use their elevated status of wealth, power and moral sense to encourage (and themselves follow) the following core principles of society:

    1. To live one’s life in GOD’s divine image.

    2. To uphold one’s King’s wishes and whims.

    3. To protect the disadvantaged.

    4. To maintain one’s valour and dignity.

    5. To offer one’s wisdom and intelligence when requested.

    6. To act courteously to all (unless the other should see themselves a fool).

    7. To preserve the integrity of the Order.

    Special consideration must be given to women, children and the elderly in all regards

    To take a maiden’s honour runs the risk of losing the knighthood, as taking one of the most valuable assets a maiden and her family may possess is an undignified offense to the maiden & her family.

    To act knowingly against the King runs the risk of losing the knighthood, as a direct breach of the responsibilities of knighthood.

    To refuse a duel from an equal (exceptions being duels to death) could run the risk of losing the knighthood, as the damage from refusing is a far greater hit to the prestige of the knight themselves and the Order than losing said duel.

    Becoming a knight

    To become a knight, one must either perform a great deed worthy of notable distinction, to the degree of earning a knighthood, or prove their purity and loyalty to the realm in the process of becoming a squire.

    The prelude of becoming a squire is often a page boy.  While not necessary, a page boy is sent usually from one noble family to another between the ages of five and ten to learn the basics of being a knight such as but not limited to;

    • Further reading & writing

    • Manners in & out of court including humility

    • Basic combat (sword & shield, bow, perhaps mounted)

    • Chivalric code

    • Furthering the basic morality

    Once the boy reaches 15 or if the Knight he has been proposed to accepts him at a later age, the boy will learn more of the advanced facets of being a knight, including but not limited to;

    • If needs be, those of a page

    • Speaking & writing for court

    • Further combat techniques

    • Dressing & arming the knight

    • Maintaining the knight’s arms & armour

    • Accompanying the knight into battle

    Once the squire is deemed worthy of knighthood, he is knighted by the King and given either a title (leading them towards the Kingsguard) or a fief and thus a hold.

    If the page or squire has been accepted by the Grand Knight & is referred on to one of the others for tutelage, they should accept lest a sufficient reason be provided to the Grand Knight though no pages or squires should be accepted without the Grand Knight’s acceptance.

  7. The home of noobs server-wide is getting back on it's feet with the city of Aleksandria, with a history of decent noob retention time, I think we could get them sorted out like we used to!

    Srsly though, how ba-a-a-ad can we be, how bad can we possibly be?

    9th of the First Seed, 1597

    ‘100 years does a lot to a man,’ Alex thought to himself, looking out over the meadows that surround Aleksandria. With a glance behind, him in that moment remembering the name of the city-to-be, he begins counting number of generations of Stauntons that’ve gone by the years. ‘Six? Seven?’ he concludes, since his friends Percival & George at least, since Athera.

    The realisation then hits him like a rock; it wouldn’t be either of the two [perhaps three, if the dragon (or at least, what he thought was a dragon) painting the sky with ash counts] that killed him, or the innumerable crusades of Athera, or the constant raids in Vailor, or the destruction of Oren in Axios, it would have to be something mundane. Then suddenly, ‘what was his name…’ Alex tries to spur his memory to recall the hundred and… Hundred and what was it? Twenty-year old? Thirty? Hundred and thirty year old Orenian royal with magic.

    ‘Oh well… You’ve been alive too long anyway. Soon as the city’s done, you’ll go travelling,’ he declares to himself out loud with a certain resoluteness, though alone, only he can hear himself. He climbs to a stand and climbs onto his horse; no fields had been set out for the city yet, and he needed to busy himself instead of counting down the passing days, though he’d have to be quick, as spring storm was rolling in, and it was still far from warm.

    An hour or two passed and the rain had begun to lash down, soaking him. A flash came from the west, followed shortly by the boom of thunder, causing the horse to rear onto its hind legs. Before any sense could be made of the sudden outburst, Alex found himself falling from the back of the horse, he knew he wouldn’t see the city finished. The only feeling, disappointment. And with a sickening crunch, Alex’s head struck a rock in the path; he wouldn’t be granted a poetic or poignant death, a hero’s farewell as he rides out to battle or the quiet passing away of a well-loved grandfather, no… That would be too nice. Seconds felt like minutes, then hours...

    Nobody arrived.

    Great start rebels. Good to see you have an actual plan for the empire. Rep-farming on your kingdom account with trump themed memes is a great start to stamping out corruption...

    If you'd actually taken 10 seconds of your life to read Vege's comment, the rebels don't own the 'Empire of Courland' account.

    "And I thought humans were racist," he concludes.

  11. Take 3... Captain's report; I can't say what I think. I can't say the same thing Nathan has said about Vege but about Nathan...

    Nathan you're a silly duck.

  12. Alex Faelan has in one hand the evacuation notice the REBELS have issued to Johannesburg in an attempt to minimise innocent deaths where the Emperor is yet to do so and in the other the transcripts of the various speeches detailing how the rebels are going to murder all the innocents.

    "For the 'paragon' of human accomplishment, they sure are an illiterate bunch," the almost 100 year old man quips. To himself.

  13. Alex Faelan reads the pamphlet, finding it oddly moving before his memory decides it'll function today, as he remembers his friends in Riga who were slaughtered by pitiless Imperials fighting to oppress nought more than a civilian militia seeking to protect their home from Imperial-sanctified barbarians who would raid, steal & ravage the local population. Then he remembers where his own pity went; people weren't the only things to die.

    "Much pity plea," he thinks to himself, "such wow."
