Biography:
Naela was born in Darkhaven in Anthos, just after its construction. From a young age her parents taught her the ways of honouring their ancestors and keeping to the Mali’ker ways, like strength in body and mind. Her father, a merchant at the time, taught her everything that he knew of mathematics and bartering. Her mother, a priestess of Velulaei, showed her the ways of their moon goddess. From a young age on, she knew she wished to be exactly like her father. Their wealth and success was all because of her father's good choice in wares and prices. Allied strongly to the dark elves of Darkhaven, when they moved, Naela's family moved along with them, to Lenniel. No peace was found there when the Scourge decided to enslave the entire population, and in turn, killed her parents. She was fifty years old by then. Despite the loss of her parents, her fierceness had not left her, on the contrary, it drove her in life.
She fled from civilisation, only joining the main dark elven group in times of grave danger, like the moving from Anthos to the Fringe, and from the Fringe to Athera. Thus because of her isolation, her strength-related abilities needed serious training, and that is exactly what she did. In the beginning it took hours to haul down a single tree, months went by and she could be regarded as a master lumberjack.
After trying and trying again, Naela simply could not grow any food, and had to resort to finding wild vegetables and hunting. This caused quite the vitamin deficiency, and weight loss. And so she became a relatively small, thin, yet strong dark elfess. Lonliness overtook her, and eventually she returned to her follow kin in Laureh'lin.
Personality Traits: A talkative, strong-minded young woman with a rather tomboyish demeanor. She is an opportunist and a forward-thinker, which applies well to her ambitions of becoming the outstanding Dark Elven merchant in the community (see below.) She can be strict at times, but is predominantly kind.
Ambitions: Due to her knowledge and training in mathematics and trade tactics, Naela believes that she is destined to rise among the community as a trader and peddler of various goods. She is also religious, and may one day seek to become a priestess.
Strengths/Talents: Having been a lumberjack during the Fringe - Atheran era, Naela is quite strong and capable with an axe. She also recalls much of her father’s teachings in the field of trade, knowing advanced mathematics (especially in the field of economics.)
Weaknesses/Inabilities: Since Naela has spent so much time on her own, she is not a good caretaker (of children, animals, plants or others). Her Elven language capabilities (despite her upbringing) are extremely bad to the level of not understanding simple sayings; this is as a result of her self-exile as well.
