SpoilerOperation: Desert Den
~The Imperial Expeditionary Force departing Providence to Sutica, circa 1834~
The Captain of the Fourth Brigade, Sir Erik Othaman, scratched at his chin as he watched the never-ending column of Imperial soldiers march in formation from the gates of Providence. It had been only a short time since the Southern Coalition formed when orders were given by the high command to support the Canonist kingdom of Sutica.
'Find the rebels and engage. The rest is up to you.'
“Simple orders…” He’d chuckle to himself before he returned to his stoic composure. It would not be that simple. The logistics alone would be a nightmare, but hopefully the problems would be solved in due time.
The last company of men passed by in parade as the Captain mounted his steed, galloping up and down the formation as he spoke loudly to the Expeditionary Force.
“Comrades, we march towards the Kingdom of Sutica, a most holy nation blessed by the High Pontiff himself. Despite this, Sutica is embroiled in a civil war that could decide the fate of Canonism in the region for years to come. Should we let the blasphemers brainwash GOD’s flock?”
“Remember in vy hearts how we suffered at the hands of bloodthirsty rebels so many years ago. How senseless life was spent on all sides. The longer the war dragged on, the more everyone suffered. Should we let our fellow descendants suffer more death without swift victory?”
“To these questions, I say niet! I pray that the rest of vy feel the same way as I do and ensure that only swift victory is achieved. I shall take this cause to my grave. Will vy join me in this sacred mission!?” The aged knight raised his sabre into the air as he called out to his comrades.
A throng of cheers erupted from the column as they broke into their usual marching song, “Orenia aut Mortem,” penned by the great Sir Henry Penton. Captain Othaman let out a sigh during the singing and turned to Captain Robert Galbraith, who rode along with him. “Pray that these boys get to see victory. It will be bloody work.”
The long column snaked their way down Almaris, advancing until they reached the Imperial transport ships that would bring them to the Southern part of the continent. Operation: Desert Den was hence put into action.
The Holy Orenian Empire and her armed forces stand with the Sutican Kingdom and her allies. Swift destruction is the only thing that shall come of those that attempt to subvert Canonism and the divine right of the Sutican Monarchy. Will you make the right decision?

"What are the odds we can press them into selective service?" he'd wonder loudly to Minuvas. @Minuvas

Sir Erik Othaman is happy with this economic advice. With fullest confidence, he invests his vast sums of money into upgrading the infrastructure and resource output of the northern Orenian Empire.
"I love money." he'd state simply.

Operation: Shattered Bulwark~Imperial Soldiers raising the Orenian Flag atop the Rustler Fort, circa 1826~
Hushed voices rang amongst the various First Regiment officers assembled in the war room. It had been some time since an officer meeting took place in this room. A room only used for war.
Thoughts rushed around in the soldiers' heads. Why were they assembled? Was it not peacetime?
After a moment, Lieutenant Erik Othaman and Lieutenant Olivier Renault made their way inside the war room. Olivier set a letter down in front of the officers. “Comrades, our friends in Vortice have once again been attacked by a group of brigands dubbing themselves ‘The Rustlers.’ On several occasions, these brigands have captured the Vortice citizenry.”
Erik spoke up not too long after. “It is imperative that we provide our full support to our Vortice comrades.” After a pause, he’d give a sly grin, “And we know just the way to annihilate these Rustlers.”A long column of Imperial State Soldiers marched out from the Bastion, traversing rough terrain and camping in the field. Finally, after an arduous march, the army finally came to a halt at the front of the Rustler ‘fort.’ Olivier and Erik looked at each other as they started relaying their orders.
The battle had begun.
The First Brigade, under the watchful guidance of Captain Vladrick Ruthern, led his men to the side across the bridge to the Capital of Vortice. The Rustlers saw him attempt this blatant flank and shadowed the Captain across the wall, not letting him get a chance to breach the defenses.
All of them fell victim to Lieutenant Othaman’s trap.
The second force of soldiers led by Veteran Ziegfrid Mortimer jumped from the trees hanging above the fort at the signal. All landed safely atop the towers close to the treetops as they began to cut down the stunned Rustlers watching Captain Ruthern’s distraction. Terrified, their resolve broke after a short bit of fighting and retreated back into their fort.
The walls were successfully breached, and after a short moment, the inner keep was too. The Imperial Soldiers engaged in fierce close-quarters combat, and though the fighting was brutal, ultimately, the Rustlers fell one by one to superior Orenian swordsmen.
A small cavalry detachment from the Third Brigade led by Cyrus Mareno made their way to the rear of the keep and wreaked havoc on the terrified Rustlers trying to escape the slaughter they brought upon themselves. They were cut down before they even got a chance to fling themselves over their own walls.
Let it be known that the Bulwark of the Rustlers has been shattered. Routed from the field and their precious fort captured at the hands of the Imperial State Army and the Vortice Volunteers, they have been broken verily and sent packing. To those of you who think you can prey upon the innocent, the Empire and her soldiers shall rest at nothing to hunt you down.

The Brigade’s Blessing
~4th Brigade Soldiers being blessed by High Pontiff Tylos I, circa 1825~
“I swear to be true to the Emperor and the realm and not to maintain silence about any evil that I may know which is being contemplated against them.”
The atmosphere in the barracks of the 4th brigade was quiet and solemn. The soldiers that were there checked their equipment one more time to ensure that any blemishes were removed and that every inch of their armor was polished. Finally, a lone voice broke the eerie silence.
“We are ready to march!” shouted Lieutenant Velu.“I swear to work tirelessly to the betterment of the Empire and the Orenian people that comprise it.”
The column of armored men departed from the Bastion in solemn silence down the winding streets of Providence. With each step they contemplated their oath. With each step, they contemplated their faith and their mission. With each step, they reaffirmed in their hearts their duties as Imperial Guard.
“I swear also not to eat or drink with traitors and not to have anything in common with them,”
“Halt!” commanded Lieutenant Othaman as the formation of brigadiers came to stop at the front of the Cathedral. After a moment, the Othaman stepped forward from the column and spoke to his comrades.
“We are the final line of defense for this Empire. This fact is not lost on any of you as you reaffirm this obligation every day. But what we must remember is that we are all children of GOD. This should never be lost on us.”
“And always to defend the honor of the gentlemen I serve.”
“Upon passing through these doors, his Holiness shall bless us and our blades. His words are that of GOD’s so take his blessings to heart. This shall serve as a reminder and a reaffirmation of your oath and your obligation to his Imperial Majesty, his Holiness, and GOD.”
“This I swear by the Holy Scrolls.”The Imperial State Army invites all of the Canonist faith to join us at the Providence Cathedral on the 14th of Harren's Folly. The soldiers of the 4th Brigade shall present themselves before his Holiness, Tylos I and reaffirm their holy mission.

"So when do you think they will go for round 11?" The Count of Valles chuckled to Zita @Fie as he read over the Treaty of Providence.
"The score card says 10/0 in Oren's favor. I like those odds."

3: Since bullet wounds are highly prone to infections, and since LOTC medical knowledge is not quite up to modern standards, I feel as though the damage of bullets should be nerfed to be more in line with crossbow bolts or else guns will just be crossbows but more deadly.
Agreed. And that's why there is the stipulation at the bottom of the application where if one party does not consent to musketry RP, then it reverts to crossbow mechanics. I think Hanrahan's intention here is that it is a CSGO retexture of the crossbow into a musket.

What's sad about this is that 1/2 of these comments are just gonna be "I hate Oren" rather than actually providing critical feedback.
That being said, so long as they operate the same as crossbows then I dont see the issue. +1

"Othamans shall fight and blood shall be spilt. I have had enough of dancing about the various departments and administrations over this issue of succession."
"My ancestors never went to court whenever there was an issue to settle. Instead, they would fight until one surrendered. Why should this be any different?"
"Let the fight commence!" boomed the Count of Valles.

The aging Count of Valles read the missive as he scratched his wrinkled chin, leaning back in his wooden chair. There was much to contemplate over the past year. "These MRA lads really do have a rather unconventional stance on warfare." He'd note to himself.
"The simple fact of the matter is that the deaths of Norlanders was brought entirely upon themselves. So many lives would have been saved if the King did nie declare war. But he did, and his allies have all left him for dead. He had a choice to surrender and cease these hostilities, however he has failed to do so."
"How can a nation who claims to be a great power fail to protect its own citizenry from a few poorly equipped rabble-rousers? I guess they didn't expect that people from both sides suffer in war, not just the enemy." He'd scoff at the ridiculousness of the whole affair.
"Next time, don't declare war."5
