  1. I'll respond to this in pieces, because I want to quite evidently prove just how wrong you actually are. First of all, being abrasive gets you nowhere. I did not threaten to ban anyone for 'not responding to forum RP'. I mentioned it in passing during a Skype conversation which, I went on to later correct. I am not the War Team Lead. There were other members of the War Team who could have set up the area. Why did I specifically not do it? Well, I was in the hospital having a CT scan as various people can attest to. I did not personally oversee the removal of an ET. This was a collective decision of the Administration and 501 was the overseeing Administrator. I did not remove a GM with no proof and I did not not let him defend himself. I cannot provide literal proof without incriminating a players privacy, though I did my best to explain the situation to him to defend himself. I also had a long conversation with him following the fact where these were addressed. I do not feel that you can accurately understand or address the status of the Administration Team when you refuse to actually listen or take in any comments we've offered in reply to your aforementioned statements. You probably won't even listen to this one. I think transparency is always a good thing. I've alerted the Admin chat to this thread so hopefully they'll read this and we can discuss this in our meeting! I have a few people who keep my motivated when people pull out the pitchforks. At the end of the day, as long as there are people who want me to stick around, I will be doing so. I'd personally like to think I do good work, and people are entirely free to disagree with that statement. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and as I have continuously stated, I'm not going to treat anyone differently because of it. Yes I get stressed at times, though I believe I keep myself even despite the small stress levels. If I do not, of course, I am open to being called out on it. With that said, however, I will likely be taking a short step back for the next week or two so I can have a small break. Truth be told, I haven't had a day to just relax and spend time with my friends or bae since I became GM Lead lmao. But yeah, I appreciate you asking and I appreciate your concern.
  2. I can't obviously address feedback meant for Telanir, 501 or Ever, but I can to this. It was a bit hard, and still is sometimes, fitting into the shoes of the role. It's a big one, and you piss off a lot of people. I'm glad that your opinions have changed on the matter, and I'm hoping to continue to work things out. Hopefully now that Ever's exams have finished, I'll be able to take a small step back and relax a little. I've been a little all hands on deck lately, being the most present Admin in most situations. But it's all good, I can handle my OW rank. - This is definitely true, I agree with you here. There seem to be either two ways to address an issue at this current time. We can either be robotic and bureaucratic, or we can be lax and loose and not give off our true wishes. We need something somewhere in the middle, and we're still searching. I think I've found it (i hope) so this should improve. - I believe the only backdoor GM promotion we've done as been HB, and he was widely wished for back on the GM Team anyway. With that said, I am 100% for more involvement from the GMs on new trials. - I understand your case and point here entirely, and we genuinely do try and steer clear of intervention unless we are 100% sure that the situation has ulterior motives. - This is something I want to hardpress. If we make a decision, I want to stick to it. If we make a fuck-up, I am entirely down to repeal the decision and make an apology, but in other cases we should stick to our guns. Flopping around make us look incredibly unsure with ourselves, and that just makes the playerbase distrust us more. - This is the case currently, I'd like to think. The Staff Reports are held and decided upon collectively, and involving the Lead of the Team the staff member is part of to actually get an honest decision. I wish. This is something we do in the meantime, though a plugin has a bunch of neat statistics that we can play around with and accurately gauge opinion per playerbase etc. That's one of those 'soon(tm)' issues, though. I believe this is supposed to be the job of the AT, though it can definitely be improved and we can look into ways of maximising our data collection.
  3. It's definitely a thankless and difficult job, for both GMs and every other staff team alike. People put their time away and into the server, it's remarkable how much time some people actually dedicate to this server. I'm proud of the GMs on my Team, and I'm proud of other players on other teams too. I think if we make a few tweaks here and there, we can do something good. It's difficult, it's often times that people wish to please both sides for fear of being convicted a villain. I'm not sure on how to aid this while ensuring that everyone is equally addressed. This is something I'm trying to do. I aim to get at least one thread out a week regarding a topic to try and gauge community opinion. If you have any additional ideas on how to improve communication, I'd love to hear them. While Forum polls are good, they do not accurately represent the entire playerbase. Not all of the playerbase use the forums, and hopefully a future in-game polling plugin will help gauge the entire community opinion more accurately.

To my knowledge, @HB_and the rest of the new War Team are working on this! I'd imagine if I am correct, posts will come soon. I'm aware of this, and as are the rest of the Administration. Just because a group is a minority, doesn't mean their opinion isn't worth listening too, though.
  5. We don't expect or want people to treat us like their parents. I am fully aware that previous iterations of Staff, and Administration have been untrustworthy. I/We in no way demand your trust, that isn't fair of us. We're not asking for that. We want to earn that trust back, and while it's difficult to do so, we're trying. I'd personally like to be given the benefit of the doubt, but that's not something I'm going to ask for or expect. We have to pay for the sins of our fathers, in the metaphorical sense, and hopefully in time this mentality will change.
  6. Following on from this thread, I wish to start a discussion to understand the player's feelings and opinions towards the Administration team. Feel free to let loose and tell us how you feel, though I do request that you formulate your feedback appropriately. Feedback such as "you suck" isn't really something we can reply to, so try to use your words. Any shitposting will be removed to keep this thread easy to read for both player and staff alike.
  7. Greetings! So, quick announcement. After much internal discussion between Administration, Lore Team and Magic Team, we have decided merge the Magic and Lore Teams. Our dearest Tsuyose has written up a small announcement which I will add here: The Lore Team is a team that has been, since the beginning of the server tasked with the upkeep and moderation of lore all round. It is a necessity for the development and progression of the server without its interior design falling to shambles, without an appropriate team to oversee the server’s lore- it enables players to produce their own thing, to which, it may or may not be absurd. It also allows us to document and provide lore for the players on an official level, to provide the server with the entertainment they so desire. The Lore Team is a team that not only moderates, upkeeps, and ensures the viability and necessity of lore- but we also engage in lore-esque events to implement their factors and historic into the server. However, with the announcement declaring the merge of the LT/MT, the following is a means of understanding who and what the Lore Team is. We will no longer be a single sect, instead, the terminology of ‘Lore Team’ will cover both the Lore Team and Magic Team, subtracting their ‘Team’ status to ‘Sect’: Lore Sect and Magic Sect. Our duties will be combined although the two teams will remain split, albeit it enables an easier workflow whilst permitting the beneficial factor of better communication, interaction, and working together. The Lore Team will henceforth take the responsibility of: Moderation of lore. Maintenance of lore. Implementation of lore. Moderation of magic. Maintenance of magic. Implementation of magic. The Team will be broken into two halves, similar to the ET. The Lore Sect The Lore division will retain its responsibility of the moderation, maintenance, and implementation of lore akin to how it previously was, although they will lose the authority over some items. Regardless, the Lore Sect will be capable of working close-hand with the Magic Sect so the Lore Team may flourish under the merge and guidance of its managerial staff. Moderation of lore. Maintenance of lore. Implementation of lore. The Magic Sect The Magic Sect will, akin to the Lore Sect, will retain its responsibility over the moderation, maintenance, and implementation of magic. The equivalent to how it was before. The Magic Sect will henceforth be capable of working close-hand with its counterpart. Moderation of magic. Maintenance of magic. Implementation of magic. New Staff List Lead Tsuyose Managers Idolomun (Lore Manager) Corvoo (Lore Manager) FlamboyantSpork (Magic Manager) knghtArtorias (Magic Manager) Lore Sect Begotten Pooryeb Leowarrior14 Thatpyrodude Farryn Corvoo Idolomun Archangel_Avacyn Magic Sect Fitermon Hedgehug Toodles Jax Coolio knghtArtorias Corvoo Aelesh The Managerial Team will be responsible for the upkeep of the Lore Team alongside the Team Lead, ensuring that the workflow runs smooth whilst obtaining the capability to warn members, remove at the behest of their lead, and contain the base capability of a lead without the ability to produce executive decisions. They are the go-to above the Lore Sect and Magic Sect, accompanying that, the Team Lead. This change is effective immediately. Forum Permissions have been set up, and so have the In-Game Pex. TL;DR: Magic and Lore Team have merged. Magic Team have the ability to now vote on and implement Magic Lore. Magic Team have the ability to moderate Magic usage in game to a higher extend that they used to do. Magic and Lore Team will be able to work more closely and under the direction of a Managerial Team and Lead, should have an easier time with their duties. How does this effect you? Well, you should be expecting more quality content and hopefully some interesting Magic/Lore Events in conjunction with the ET. -Thomas

    Adios.

shit you're right. guide me pie.
  9. Well, the time has come. We've decided to remove Josh from the GM Team.
  10. So what actually was it that made these maps fun for you guys? Is it just the nostalgia?
  11. Hello once again! So, following on from my post the other day, I'd like to get a good feel for how players interpreted the previous maps we've had. I've gone around to a few people to ensure I have the maps in the correct order, having personally joined in Athera, to try and ensure I had everything neat and tidy and was not missing any smaller maps. If I have, I'm sorry, and feel free to let me know. So to explain the questions, once again I'd prefer to have a written answer along with your genuine opinion of said map. 1: During which map did you join? Whether you joined the server in Aegis, popped along during the Fringe or even joined us lately here in Axios, I'd like to get a good understanding of what map you all joined on. 2: Which map was your favourite? This one is going to be a bit more difficult to answer. What I want, however, is your personal favourite. This doesn't mean it needs to be the best map, it doesn't need to be the most well made, simply the one you had the most fun on. 3: Which map do you believe was the most well made? (Story, events, design etc) Out of all the maps you have been present for, which one, while it may not be your favourite, do you believe to have had the most well designed islands, the most well structured storyline and most enjoyable events. This is going to be different as some maps may not have all three, though try to answer to the best of your abilities. 4: From things you've been told, which map(s), if you joined after, do you believe would be most interesting? This one is more of a community opinion gauge. Even if you only joined in Vailor, and had no idea of maps prior, we've all heard stories, read wiki pages and forum articles surrounding maps of previous years. Using this knowledge, try and tell me which map(s) you believe were the most interesting to other people? If you've played through all of the maps, which one do you believe was the most welcomed by the community? Once again, I'd love to get everyone's full opinion. Feel free to delve in and start up a conversation! -Thomas <#
  12. This is all really great information, thank you all for offering your opinions. I would respond individually to each one, though it seems a general consensus is present. More information is gladly appreciated and I will be taking all of this on board. Expect some more polls up in the following weeks regarding more specific topics, I'm gathering player opinions to ensure the same mistakes aren't repeated. The results from the poll are pretty concrete, which is good, it means there ins't too large of a split between player opinion.
  13. Seasons Greetings. I won't delve deep into anything here, I do not believe such is necessary, but I wished to gather information and data in regards to the opinion of the current map, the transition, the lore and the events all for Axios. We all know it isn't as good as it could be, and because of that I'd like to gauge the collective consensus as to how this map is being received. Credit: Why? Well, I want to ensure our next map (don't worry, it won't be for at least another year) is as well received, well prepared and well rounded as possible for everyone. To do this, I need to know what makes Axios great, what makes Axios terrible and why such is the way it is. So please, fill out the form and comment below! The more data, the more information the better. You'll offend no one on this thread in regards to your opinion of this map so please, I implore you, let loose and do not refrain from giving your opinion. Obviously I am going to be unable to ask questions which cover the entire range, so simply state your additional opinions below! Thanks in advance! -Thomas <#

    The Rules

Amendment: If a nation leader leaves his or her position, they may take only 10% of the nation's materials with them. This must be completely RPed with oversight of one or more GMs. If the leader is PKed or otherwise abandons the character, nothing may be taken. Added bit: Additionally, a Nation Leader may not steal Nation Relics from the Nation after being removed from the position of Nation Leader by said Nation. However, the Nation Leader may steal Relics from the Nation prior to being ousted should such be a course in Roleplay. This must be done with GM oversight.
  15. Unfortunately, and it's sadly the case, this is very true. Our retention will not increase as long as the community to continues to act the way it does. It needs to be a progressive change for all of us, from player and staff a like. Players cannot expect Staff to just 'fix' player retention, it doesn't work like that, and Staff cannot expect Players to either. It needs to be with semblance of collaboration, for all the efforts the staff put in, the community can simply negate if it doesn't change and grow with us. I hope that players are starting to learn this, and I hope staff that do not already know this learn too. Wise words, mister memeking, wise words.
  16. Introduction Greetings, friends of Malinor. (God I hate that). So hey, we just got through November, and we’re heading on into December. With holidays in tow, and the wonderful smell of garlic bread littering our forums (Matt Damon next month), I’ll settle the dawdling and jump straight on into it. Just like last month, we’re going to give a quick update on how each Manager, and Lead, feel the team has been during the previous month. So here they are: Trials Once again, the first order of business is the announcement of our new Trial GMs! Selected for their desire to drive the team forward and engage with the playerbase, the Trials this Month are as follows! With every new batch of trials, an announcement must follow in regards to the status of the Trials of the previous month. So below are the Trials who passed the November Trial, and will be joining us on the Team fully! To give a run down. Here is how the trial selection process works: The GM Managers look through the current GM Applications and write down all of the names onto a Google Form, which is then linked to the GM Team to vote on who they would like to see interviewed. The GM Managers, and Lead, take each and every one of these applicants into an interview room, either Discord or Skype, and ask a few questions regarding who they are, what their desires are and question them verily on both their attitude on the server, and their application. Following this, the Management put each of their interviews into google docs, which are then linked in a compiled thread in the GM Forum for the GMs to look over, analyse and provide feedback on each member. After taking in the feedback, Management discuss and make their picks from the batch, and submit those names to the GM Team for a final round of feedback. The GM Team provide feedback on the final pick, if no one objects, the Trial is taken on and inducted during the Monthly meeting. If objections are made, the trial is placed back into the pending section and a new pick is chosen. Resignations Every now and again, we unfortunately must accept that we have to say goodbye to some of our staff here on the Game Moderation Team. A sad time for all, we must wave farewell to the colleagues we’d come to enjoy. We wish them luck on their times following their resignation, and hope they look back on their time with us with fondness. Freema5: Having been a member of the GM Team for as long as anyone can remember, good ol’ Carlitofriendo has given up countless hours for the progression of the server and handling of the server. We’ll never be able to thank him enough, and while he now comfortable sits as a member of the LT, having resigned from ET Lead also, we will still miss his contributions to the GM Team. o7 Harrison: As many at this point are aware, Harrison unfortunately left us around the middle of this month. Poor sod had been overworking himself and needed a break, and so he took it. We’ve appreciated his work and his time on the team. While he has since reapplied, we wish to allow him a little more time to ensure his break is worthwhile, and he is fit and ready to return to the Team. [*] Cruzazul8: Running the Orenian Empire and being a member of the GM Team is no easy task, both require a lot of patience and time to effectively handle either, let alone both. We cannot express our gratitude more for the work he has put forward for the server during his tenure, and we wish him well in his future endeavours. FinalHazard: A strong member of the community and a strong member of the team, we regrettably had to say farewell to Final a little earlier this month. We’ve seen this coming for a while, though as server and staff alike, we hadn’t wished to admit it. We thank him for his tenure, and we hope he enjoys his time away from mineman. Modreq Data Just as we had last month, we are happy to bring forth once again the data for the modreq count. As noted by players last month, putting forth the numbers isn’t all that conclusive as statistics such as time spent and specifications of the modreq are unfortunately unavailable. However, given the fact that any and all players have access to finding this data out for themselves, we figured we’d continue to release the numbers for an all inclusive post. I have worked on documentation for a new Modreq plugin in the past, and hopefully at some point the Developers will get around to it sooner or later. This will include statistics, severity and all other neat information that will come out with this data in future. This month we had a total of 3311 Modreqs. With our quota set at 3%, the total number of modreqs a GM would require to reach quota this month would have been 99 with a margin of error being 96-98. Last month we had around 2452 Modreqs, giving us almost 1000 more this month. This can be attributed to the LC Purchasing that was introduced, and other smaller regioning modreqs which have come through. We’re of the understanding that next month (December) will be a little slower given the holidays, so the prospected amount for such is roughly around 2400, similar to last month. Here are the people who did not meet quota, accompanied by reasoning behind such: TauFirewarrior: Only just falling behind quota, falling into the margin, Will had a difficult start to the month, and as such declared a short hiatus which lasted a few days. Spoduminister: Having declared a hiatus early in the month, Spod has been handling some issues on the server and real life which led him to request a short break, he should return in full force next month. SteelTemplar: Dealing with some certain issues in his real life, SteelTemplar was unable to meet quota this month, should you wish to know more you are welcome to contact him yourself. Freema5: Freema was not required to meet quota due to his resignation this month. Cruzazul8: Cruz was not required to meet quota due to his resignation this month. Harrison: HB was not required to meet quota due to his resignation this month. Moosehunter and Zhulik: Both are obviously new trials, and as such are not counted to this months quota. They will be expected to meet next month’s, however. Projects Although projects are not a necessary working point for the GMs, we’re constantly looking at ways to benefit our server and overhaul certain parts of our server for the betterment of the playerbase. Make Axios Pretty Again A continued project, MAPA is something that was started by i_am_Ricky and continued by ShadowedOblivion. Due to the nature of this project, it will continue to be a part of our workload for a while. To find out more about this project, check our last Monthly Log. Roads is a part of this. Newbie Retention Similar to the previous mentor system, staff from various teams have come together to work on a system to enable new players to get situated into the server much easier than before. This should hopefully enable and increase player retention. Attached to this, for a long time, players have complained about our spawn island, Mali, and due to this we have been working to make it easier to navigate. War System Following our release of the War Rules, we understood that they weren’t entirely received positively. Because of this, we will be working on a new System not only in regards to the rules, but in the way we handle future Warclaims and Wars themselves. Map Research A project run by myself, I will be researching the feelings and thoughts in regards to the maps, past and present, on Lord of the Craft. We with to accurately gauge the opinion on what players look for in maps, as to ensure we make the correct choice in future. Additional Mentions So, just a heads up for staff and player alike. This month will likely be a little slow for us. December is generally slow all over, and given many of our GMs are currently university students and will be returning home to see their families for the holidays. We may find ourselves low on GMs towards the later parts of this month, so we formally apologise in advance for slow response rates towards the end of December. We will try our hardest to keep everything active and smooth, and alls hoping that you’ll not even notice a difference but just in case, here’s a notice. Let’s hope that it’s unneeded! Current Member List: Lead: Tahmas Managers: Beast720 Members: Josh3738 ShadowedOblivion Taufirewarrior Lego_XBOX Wrynn Tsuyose CaliforniaRocket FlamboyantSoup Thatpyrodude Spoduminister SteelTemplar GusanoArentonio Nekkore BrokenHelix Trials: Zhulik moosehunter123 As always, we urge you to ask questions should you have any. If you have any concerns regarding the server, the GM team or anything else, please feel free to contact a member of the GM Team and will do our best to help. -Last month we stated that we would not be taking on more trials GMs following this month’s batch, and we hope to stick to this in the new year. However, should the unfortunate resignations of our staff members affect us more than expected, we may take an additional two in the new year.- -Thomas. <3

    The Rules

Amendment: If a player runs from roleplay. the other side may PvP him but must revive him to continue the rp. If they attempt to flee again, the player may be killed. Note that yelling "Halt" is not valid rp to initiate PvP. If they don't stop to respond, you cannot give chase with PvP. Added bit: This does not mean PvP is initiated for both sides, the runner is not allowed to fight back if those chasing are attempting to down him.
  18. It will go through processing via the Lore Team, be discussed in the Lore Mag and a verdict will be issued following that.
  19. Glad to hear it dude, I hope what's stressing you out passes soon.
  20. I think there's a difference between hazing and criticising. Trial GMs need to know that this is a hard job, and that you meet people who are going to give you a hard time. But making things intentionally difficult or making them feel degraded isn't all that great, it's not something I'd wish on any of my GMs. With that said, criticisms are always welcome and there are oftentimes better ways to go about it. You're a pain in the ass, but you're genuine and I respect that a lot. While I think you're too abrasive for your own good sometimes, you have a good view of this community, the players and you know your ****. Yeah, you could be more considerate in the way you handle things, but that's just my criticism. You're a good dude, I can't and won't knock you as a dude, and while I disagree with some of your methods, I value you as a member of this community; When you aren't shitposting. ******* hectic dude, barely had a moment to check myself. Hope you're having a better one.
