I love it, reminds me of the dumb kid from Toy Story. I get you confused with Pyro a lot, and I don't know why. One or both of you keep changing your usernames and it's hard to keep track of. I apologise, my friend.
-
No. I'm watching movies with @CloudsInSpace I will give you a good rank. 7.

Nothing. I dislike gifts. Definitely not.

Love is a strong word. I'm not a fan of Pumpkin flavoured things. You're quite alright, I don't know much about you, honestly, we have not interacted too much. Though, from the interactions we have had, you seem quite alright. No. I have a fourth favourite.

I don't know, can you?

I'll always have a soft spot and adoration for MassiveCraft. You're annoying. Sure am.

Greetings So, as it was stated in previous posts and during community meetings, the GM Team wanted to see a rewrite in all of the server rules, from War to Forum. We wanted to ensure everything was up to date, so here is an announcement to ensure everyone knows this has happened. Here you can find a consolidated list of updated Server Rules. We felt that having all rules on one specific page, condensed down into spoilers was a smarter and more logical step to make. Should you wish to find a specific rules, "CTRL+F" is your friend. Most of the rules have stayed the same, though there have been some clarification, rewriting and amendments to hopefully make it more clear. If you have any questions, feel free to ask your neighbourhood GM. Credit to Harrison for typing it all up, Wulfie for the idea of consolidating it all, and the rest of the GM Team who aided in giving opinions on anything that arose. -Thomas

These are a consolidation of all the different sub-sections of rules we have here on LoTC. Any changes, additions or removal of rules will be commented below, by the appropriate staff member. Community conduct Hide contents “To maintain respect while interacting with other players. Be a builder of this community, not a hinderance or detriment.” Derogatory remarks directed toward those on Lord of the Craft mediums of communication will not be tolerated. This includes racist/homophobic/sexual/otherwise vulgar terms or crude and insensitive comments for the sake of insulting the player they’re directed to. The nature and severity of the remarks and context of the situation will be determined at the discretion of moderators when they are notified of a situation, or witness one. Common sense follows, if you don’t have anything nice to say, simply don’t say it. Do not make this community an unpleasant, nor unwelcoming one. Examples: /t Bob **** you, ******. Referral in RP of terms associated with real world races/groups. It’s RP, if you want to be racist, at least be original and have it make sense with the world you’re in. /looc Respond to the RP you ******* *****. ((The kikery is strong. Etc. First offense - 15 minute tempban with warning message Second offense - 2 hour tempban with warning message Third offense - 1 day tempban with warning message Fourth offense - 1 week tempban with a final warning message Fifth offense - 4 week ban with an appeal required. Harassment - obsessive, malicious or nefarious behavior directed toward another player will not be tolerated. This will apply to all platforms of communication and media. If clear evidence is supplied through means not directly associated with Lord of the Craft, it will still be followed up on. This includes Lord of the Craft forums, the server, and the Teamspeak - as well as - Skype, Teamspeak as a whole, Youtube, Facebook, you name it. Spreading of personal or private information will result in a ban of six months. There will be zero warning, aside from you reading this right now. It does not matter if you were the one to find it, or you were the one to continue spreading it. Media created to isolate and target specific players within the community will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Those found to be generating such will be banned for one month. Those found to have continued to share it once they were shown it, banned for one week. There will be no warning. In-game harassment that includes poor and or malicious RP that is enacted to target or single out an individual for the purpose of harassment, in most cases for OOC reasoning, will not be tolerated. Two week ban, followed by a two week villain blacklist after the player has appealed. Scenarios will be analyzed case by case and left to the moderators to decide if the claims of such are legitimate. Sexual harassment under any circumstances will not be tolerated. This applies to everyone. References to rape, general sexual assault - non-consensual advances or vulgarity of that nature directed to either a player OOCly, with any form of communication, or a character RPly will not be tolerated. Three months, no warning. Behavior that disrupts the flow of roleplay without directly isolating or targeting another player, while not as consequential, shall still be dealt with accordingly with clear protocol from now on. Essentially anything that is considered a joke taken too far. Commonplace stereotypes incorporated excessively in a character to create a blatantly offensive portrayal or reference to real world cultures, groups, races will not be tolerated. Players guilty of this will be banned for four weeks. Pop culture references, real world references* incorporated into roleplay or the creation of a character to an excessive extent will not be tolerated. Players guilty of this will be banned for two weeks. *Anything that can be construed as blatantly ‘modern’ or otherwise sourced from material that has had no prior place in LotC. - TMNT skins, dwarf cops with air support, etc. The use of “memeage” in roleplay will result in an immediate ban of one week without a warning, appeal required. Examples include, allahu akbar or any variations of it, the term ‘edgy’, the word meme itself, rare pepes, mr. skeletal, ayy lmao, etc. You know, we know, don’t act stupid. The ban will be made at discretion of the moderators who witness it. You will not be able to dispute this. Additions will be made if circumstances considered to not fall within any of these categories occur. Lord of the Craft mission statement Hide contents These are henceforth being put forward as expectations for both staff and players to follow. These statements are just as important as the rules and will be the guidelines for all future rules and staff calls to be based off of. The Lord of the Craft is about providing a place for people to roleplay and interact together from all over the world -regardless of age, ability or experience- in a way that is easily understandable and caters to as many styles of roleplay as possible. We use minecraft as the platform for our fantasy world so that through small and large actions every member is contributing to the story. Our goal as a community, staff team, and Minecraft Role-Playing entity altogether, is simply your enjoyment and that of others. We strive to be the leading and prime example of a worry-free and welcoming server for you to enjoy yourself and entertain others in cooperative fantasy Roleplay. Therefore our goals as Staff are: 1. To preserve and promote a friendly and cooperative environment for everyone, to ensure people feel safe and comfortable within the community. 2. To continue to encourage and endorse roleplay that is enjoyable by as many players as possible. 3. To be transparent, and forthcoming with our intentions and development, while considering the input of the community. 4. To remember we are volunteers, we made the choice to step up as leaders of the community, we’re not here for personal gain. And to help us with this, our expectations of Players are: 1. To remember that roleplay isn’t about winning or losing, but about storytelling. Allow roleplay to flourish, and act as a builder of an overall story. 2. To maintain respect while interacting with other players. Be a builder of this community, not a hinderance or detriment. 3. To actively be conscious of others’ feelings, and avoid placing personal goals/wants before everyone else's enjoyment. 4. To remember Staff are just as much part of the community as you are, so when disagreements arise, maintain a civil and concise disposition. Thank you to Elindor and Kalamoot for helping create these standards. General rules Hide contents The abuse of glitches or any exploits are not tolerated. You may not be logged in to the server on two accounts at the same time unless both accounts are Whitelisted. Excessive trolling or use of 'memes' in roleplay are disallowed. Hostile and Toxic behavior, directed any anyone or on any medium, will not be tolerated. All roleplay on LoTC must abide by server lore. Lore can be found on the Wiki or Forum lore section. You cannot play as a race that is not lore-approved, and you require LM/MAT approval for races not a part of the Dwarves, Elves, Humans, Kha, or Orcs. If you wish to add lore to LoTC, it must be submitted and approved before it can be played. Your skin must be an RP-friendly representation of your character. Obscene, offensive, or non-rp skins are not allowed. There are many skin-makers on the Forums who are happy to provide skins for new players. The use of a skin created by another player without their consent is considered plagiarism, and is disallowed. You must remain In-Character at all times when in-game. If you need to speak out of character, do so in private messages (via /t <playername>) or local OOC chat (via starting your message with "((") Your characters cannot interact with each other in any way. The one exception is that you may play the child of your character. Metagaming is disallowed in its entirety. Metagaming is the use of information in roleplay that your character does not know. An example would be rallying troops to aid a friend even though your character would have no way to know he's in trouble. Powergaming is disallowed in its entirety. Powergaming is forcing your emotes on another character. An example being the emote "John swings his sword at Tom, cutting his arm" where the emote forces the effect on the other player. An acceptable emote would be "John swings his sword at Tom, aiming to cut his arm." since the other player would be able to react to the emote. This also covers emoting unrealistic or overpowered emotes such as "John backflips over Tom's arrows" or something similar. If you die in roleplay, your character will not remember the events leading up to the death. Waking up knowing who killed you is metagaming. You also may not return to the site of your death for thirty minutes (Unless it was your character's home). Do not change your username to anything vulgar, inflammatory, or offensive to other players on LoTC. Accounts breaking this rule will be banned for thirty days - The period of time that Mojang requires before another change can occur. Parodying another player's name or old name also requires their consent, or else you may be banned depending on the nature of the name. Impersonation of a Player or Staff Member, on any medium, will not be tolerated. OOCly lying or otherwise deceiving players for your own gain is not allowed, however you may do so to (and only to) prevent being metagamed. An example in this case being if you are attempting to trick somebody IC, you don’t have to tell the truth if they ask OOCly about your plans. "Cyber-bullying", through repeated harassment or any other means will not be tolerated. Those partaking in or promoting such will be severely punished. Accounts may not be shared between players in any circumstance. Actions taken by your account will be treated as though they were taken by you as a player. In the event of a hacked account, please contact a moderator or administrator. If an account is traded between players, the final 'owner' must be the only one with access and all personas and items will be removed. Hack-Clients, mods, or texture packs that provide an advantage are completely disallowed. Approved mods include: Schematica, More Player Models, InventoryTweaks, Damage Indicators, Aesthetic Mods, as well as Autofish. If GM assistance is required, please make a modreq instead of a message. Only message a GM in urgent situations needing immediate aid. Moderator verdicts are final. Do not press the issue or go to another moderator if such a verdict is unfavorable to you. If you absolutely must pursue an issue, please contact either a GM manager, or an Admin. There are no GM refunds on lost items unless you provide valid screenshots, and even then you may not be accounted for. /bread is a helpful command to help you get back on your feet, though! Anything that can be done by players via donor perks or professions will not be done by GMs. If you need one of these services - like locks, gates, enchanting, or soulstone pillars, you must seek out a player with access. Note that event items are an exception to this. The use of alternate personas purely for additional skills on one character is forbidden. Any character with multiple personas tied to its name will have the duplicates deleted without regard to any professions or items. Having a persona with the race set to one other than the character's actual race is not allowed. The same applies to age and gender. Having it written in your biography, or having your biography go against what your card's properties are is not allowed. Any character card that does not match the character will be deleted without regard to any professions or items. If you opt to permanently kill your character, you (in most cases) have seven days to decide to reverse the action. Once those seven days are over, the character can not be revived. Note that, with the exception of suicide or staff decision, you can not be forced to kill a character. However, if you explicitly state that you've PKed under any of the following situations, you are not allowed to bring back the character, even in those even days. Those situations are: If your character commits suicide, he or she is permanently killed. This is also the case if you use knowledge of the monks to disregard the threat of death - If you're about to die and roleplay along the lines of "Kill me, I'll just be revived", you will have to PK. Note that ultimately, this is a staff decision. Attempting to force or trick another player into breaking this rule will be punished. Explicit sexual roleplay is not permitted. If sex (or other graphic actions) occur in roleplay, use "Fade To Black" to pass over the details. FTB actions require both IC and OOC consent. Sexual FTB can not be done with more than three members of the five main races (Not event creatures!). Brothels and prostitution are disallowed, as well as Rape, involvement with a character under 18, bestiality, or necrophilia. Killing animals without sufficient RP backing the slaughter is against server rules. Anyone found doing so will be punished. Only 50% of livestock can be slaughtered and only with appropriate RP. Monster spawners/farms/grinders of any kind are disallowed in the entirety. To be found having or using one will result in the removal of said monster spawner/farm/grinder and punishment given to those involved. Using things such as an auto-miner or an auto-fisher are permitted, should you still be present at your computer. If a GM messages you and you don't respond / give some sort of sign that you are present still, you will simply be kicked, rather than banned. This does not however allow you to use advantages such as x-ray. If a region owner wants to evict an owner from their region, they must be given a minimum of 3 IRL days notice to move any items or possessions by the owner. Suitable means of notice are as follows: In game signs. Permanent messages (Skype, Discord etc). If a region owner wants to evict a member from their region, they must be given a minimum of 3 IRL days notice to move any items or possessions by the owner. This does not count if the character in question is a known criminal, or otherwise enemy to the region. Suitable means of notice are as follows: In game signs. Permanent messages (Skype, Discord etc). If a parent region owner wants to remove a region owner from their sub-region, they must be given a minimum of 7 IRL days notice to move any items or possessions by the owner. During this time, the region may declare itself in open rebellion and must be Warclaimed. Suitable means of notice are as follows: In game signs. Permanent messages (Skype, Discord etc). Inter-species physical romantic and sexual relations in regards to animal-like creatures, (Kha, Hou-zi, or any other Animal based creature)m falls under rules concerning beastiality, and is there for prohibited. Alongside of this, any physically romantic or sexual relations with undead/dead creatures (Wights, Wraiths Liches etc) falls under rules concerning necrophilia. Husking is not an exception. Fire aspect and flame are banned enchantments. As are any combat enchantments above level 1. Report any to a moderator immediately. Impersonation of Staff, past and present, or another Player through the use of Roleplay or In-Game Names is strictly prohibited. If you are found doing so, you will face repercussions of up to one month ban time in order to change your username to something else. Leaving Roleplay by Logging Off or going AFK due to other, out of game commitments, is permitted so long as you notify other parties involved (Exceptions can be made if the leave is urgent). You are expected to resume the RP at your next available opportunity if requested by the involved parties. Construction and Theft rules Hide contents These rules apply to the ownership and theft of land, builds, and items. Voxel, Worldedit, or any other GM assistance will not be permitted for assistance in construction in any situation. GMs will only use these tools for players to remove landscars, or to help clear old structures. Note that if a GM is used to clear the structure, no resources will be refunded. Owners of regions will not be changed unless authorised by the primary region owner, 50% of the other region owners, or a parent of it. The status of region owner in times of conflicts of interest will be considered valid for those who serve in roleplay positions of power within the group which holds ownership. The primary region owner will be considered at all times to be the in character leader of the group which has ownership of the plot. In times which this is unclear moderator discretion will be used. The primary region owner can appoint stewards of the plot who serve as the primary region owner in all but name, and have their decisions superseded by the primary region owner but can perform anything the Primary Region Owner can short of abdicating the plot to other groups or people. Players are suggested to have on hand written proof of stewardship being granted in the chance they are asked to produce such. Chests and doors within a region may only be unlocked by request of a region owner or permission of the original lock owner. Unlocked chests may be stolen from at will. Item Frames may only be taken from by players on the region they are in. Players may attempt to get past locks via the roll system. In order to do this, a GM is required to be present for the rolls. Requirements and rules are as follows: Lockpicks may be purchased by a shop, and if used, will be taken from the player (1 pick per roll) in exchange for more favorable chances. Door rolls are as follows: Wood (Trap)doors - 17+ without a pick, 10+ with. Iron (Trap)doors - 19+ without a pick, 15+ with. Locked Signs (Gates, Lifts, etc) - 17+ without a pick, 10+ with. Glass - 12+ There must be 1 emote for every roll done when trying to break/lockpick. Chests may only be picked within a heist. Donation chests and Shop Chests may not be stolen from. Chests - 17+ without a lockpick, 15+ with. A roll of 5 or below without a pick will result in the lock being too damaged to open. Only 3 members of a given party may attempt to lockpick, and each of them have 3 attempts per lock, and may attempt to pick up to three locks each. You may not break blocks to get past LWC locks. A lock is only valid with an LWC protection on it. If the door or chest is not mechanically locked, it is not locked in roleplay. Arson or other means of property destruction are not allowed except during warclaims or with the region owner's OOC permission. For anything larger than a standard building, permission from the primary region owner or from the majority of region owners is required. Built structures must adhere to the roleplay setting. Floating or unsupported houses, underground farms are disallowed. Note that, when gathering resources, you may not leave floating leaves or strip-mine in the main world. Strip mining is permitted in the mineworld, and only in the mineworld. Using another player's build without their permission is not allowed. Any large build copied from any source on or off LoTC mediums require the creator's permission. Smaller builds like individual houses do not have this requirement. If a nation leader leaves his or her position, they may take only 10% of the nation's materials with them. This must be completely RPed with oversight of one or more GMs. If the leader is PKed or otherwise abandons the character, nothing may be taken. Additionally, a Nation Leader may not steal Nation Relics from the Nation after being removed from the position of Nation Leader by said Nation. However, the Nation Leader may steal Relics from the Nation prior to being ousted should such be a course in Roleplay. This must be done with GM oversight. Due to bugs and other small issues, it may sometimes be possible to obtain disallowed items from legitimate sources. If you obtain one of the following items from any source, please make a modreq detailing the item and how you got it. The use of these items is disallowed in any capacity. Combat Rules Hide contents These rules apply to all conflict on Lord of The Craft, from villainy to raids. PvP requires for all sides to confirm being ready, as well as a five-second countdown. If a player runs before the countdown ends, pvp is initiated. Proper rp is required before PvP can be called. The roleplay must be initiated and properly advance to conflict before it goes to PvP. Running from roleplay using MC mechanics is not allowed unless PVP combat has been chosen as a form of combat to be used, and it is done following a proper countdown. If a player runs from roleplay, the other side may PvP him and is under no obligation to revive him. The person running may also face punishment. Note that yelling "Halt" is not valid rp to initiate PvP. If they don't stop to respond, you cannot give chase with PvP. Once the choice of combat has been decided, it cannot be changed except with a unanimous agreement. A player joining an rp fight in progress may not 'call pvp' unless the rest agree. Statuses are required in PvP fights with 8 or more players. Abuse of statuses to avoid getting hit is disallowed. Joining a PVP conflict mid-Combat is prohibited regardless of affiliation or intent. Using your eChest to stash your inventory (or to take out equipment) after an RP has been initiated is not permitted. Racial buffs may only be used for characters of that race. Setting a human character to an Orc for the respective buffs, for example, will result in the offending character being deleted. You may not use a soulstone or fast travel to escape roleplay. The use of alternate characters purely to incite conflict is disallowed. For example, you may not create a dwarf character purely for the purpose of raiding the orcs and instigating war. Camping fast travels is disallowed in its entirety. Villainous activity cannot occur in the vicinity of a fast travel hub. Fast travels cannot be used to escape RP or PVP. The use of horses to jump over walls three blocks or higher is not permitted. Once combat has been engaged either via RP or PvP a horse may not be called from another location- horses present at the time are fine to be ridden. Defender Default When combat takes place, the choice of using Roleplay or PvP is given in determining how the combat will go down. The defender is always the one who has the choice to decide how the combat is played out. If the players involved in the combat scenario are 8 or more, PvP will automatically be initiated to quickly settle the dispute. The player who initiates the combat will automatically be labelled the 'instigator'. The person they are attacking is the 'defender', and may choose the combat method. Guards are always considered 'defenders' if the person they are combating has broken one of the following crimes: Physical Assault Thievery Trespassing Treason Refer to this page if there are any confusions: War rules Hide contents The following paragraphs formulate a collection of rules that aim to establish clear guidelines for a war between two(+) groups. If any of these rules are ambiguous, or not entirely understandable for you or your faction during a war, contact the current War Lead or any War GM for clarification. Intentional loop-holing, or attempts to remain playfully ignorant of any rules present will result in punishment according to the severity of the transgression. General In order to begin any tier of a war, a casus belli is required. The term casus belli (often abbreviated to CB) refers to a Latin expression meaning "an act or event that provokes or is used to justify war." A more complete set of definitions for acceptable LOTC CB’s and their respective tiers exists here. A casus belli is only valid for a period of one month (4 weeks.) For every month that passes, the tier of the casus belli will decrease by one, for example: a tier three casus belli becomes voided entirely after one month. Proof regarding the validity of a CB may be requested to verify its integrity. Wars are officialized through the forums, specifically by posting a warclaim with an acceptable casus belli & other proper conventions. If all other precedents are deemed satisfactory by the War Team, the warclaim will be accepted. Unless valid reason exists to advance through alternative means, a war will be materialized firstly by beginning with a skirmish. An initial battle on open terrain will determine which faction receives the ability to advance the war with a either a full/partial conquest or pillage depending on the respective tier chosen for the warclaim. For an attacker to establish siege grounds, they must first win a skirmish in the perimeter outside their target. For defenders to maintain their borders, they must defend successfully against this. In order to continue advancing, a field battle will be determined necessary by the War Team for each subsequent settlement(s) any given faction has control of. Attackers have the opportunity to become the defenders with this concept established and vice versa, depending on the ever-changing trajectory of the war. In the event the defenders successfully fend off the attackers, they maintain the option to either besiege an opposing fortification or stand their ground. This makes the fortification the original attackers besieged open for a warclaim the following week. In addition to this, if the defenders hold the fortification three times consecutively they reserve the ability to force a stalemate. The LOTC Staff Conglomerate (GM Team, Administration, War Team, etc.) maintains the ability to alter these rules at anytime, and on a case-by-case basis in order to produce a more dynamic war system, and a more mutually beneficial end result. War Severity: 3: Conquered settlements will not be altered, except for pillaging of chests. Leader(s) upon their death in battle face zero consequence. Capture and permakill are subjective and determined by their players, enforced by no one. War reparations within reason will be handled ICly, failure to comply would result in another potential cassus belli. Ultimately the fate of a faction remains intact. 2: Conquered settlements may receive "ruined" renovations. Pillaging of chests is allowed, anti-griefing rules still apply. If a leader(s) dies in battle, there is a chance of being captured with two /roll‘s of 14+ (best two out of three rolls) with no permakill clause. The potential to be fully vassalized. A nation or faction will still exist, but as an underling to the victor. 1: Conquered settlements may receive "ruined" renovations. Pillaging of chests is allowed, anti-griefing rules still apply. If a leader(s) dies in battle, there is a chance of being captured with two /roll‘s of 14+ (best two out of three rolls) or being immediately permakilled. Death while in captivity will be staff enforced permakilling. If the capital of a settlement is taken, capture is mandatory, unless the leader was not directly involved in the fighting. The potential to be fully conquered and subjugated. A faction has the opportunity to be entirely purged from existence. If a faction is completely conquered, you lose all control OOCly - and subsequently in RP. Established Cost of War: Siege Engines will need ammunition to use. If you don’t have the ammunition, you cannot use them in a warclaim. All factions will be in charge of building their own siege engines. Each leader is responsible for the /roll for each of their respective siege weapons, starting with a roll at the beginning for the initiative in firing. The shots will be roleplayed / enacted through mechanics in “waves” or “volleys” and will be done on a turn basis. Trebuchet/Catapult Cost: 1,000 Players operating: 3 Ammunition: Stoneshot Result: Moderate to heavy damage to all structures and terrain. Rune Cannon Cost: 1,250 Players operating: 3 Ammunition: Stoneshot/Ironshot/Fireshot Result: Moderate to heavy damage to all structures and terrain. Ballistae Cost: 600 Players operating: 3 Ammunition: Heavy iron shovels or iron lances. Result: Light to moderate damage to a wooden structure. Siege Tower Cost: 1000 Players operating: 10 Result: Movement forward. Battering Ram Cost: 500 minas Players operating: 6 Result: Damaging gates. Each hit removes health from the gate. Gate health is dependent on the time it takes to destroy the material of the gate by hand. -=- Goliath/Atronach Cost: 1000+(200 per obelisk) Players Operating: 1 Ammunition: N/A Result: Damage depending on spell. Can halt friendly and offensive attacks in favor or protect allied siege weapons/structures. Materials: Wood: Takes heavy damage from everything. (+1 on air brush if hitting goliath, +2 from ballista shot) -100 Stone: Takes heavy damage from treb. Metal: Weak damage from everything. (-2 on the air brush if hitting goliath) +100 Obelisk must be within 8 blocks of the goliath. If this distance changes in any way, the connection is broken. More extensive info is available here. Warclaim Protocol Siege: Alterations to terrain and structures will be limited once a siege has been declared; all changes to the structure will be done in survival with no LC. Ideally your settlement should be war-proof at the time of its construction on the server or in planning, not a week before the warclaim. “PvP forts” with modifications like insta-kill traps and murder holes are disallowed. During the actual siege to break down barriers, doors/glass will always mirror the default required rolls: Door rolls are as follows: Wood (Trap)doors - 17+ without a pick, 10+ with. Iron (Trap)doors - 19+ without a pick, 15+ with. Locked Signs (Gates, Lifts, etc) - 17+ without a pick, 10+ with. Glass - 12+ -=- Skirmish Agreements Skirmish agreements are what will now replace large scale raiding. The established warfront will have a zone of conflict that is to be prepped for the upcoming warclaim, this zone will be where warring sides may skirmish without limitations. Agreeing to a skirmish agreement, showing collective sportsmanship from both sides, and keeping ‘it’ on the field will result in minor perks over the course of the war to both sides. Raid rules Hide contents Any attempt to camp the edge of a territory in order to draw people out, or block people from entry for the sole purpose to kill players for more than one hour a day is against the rules. Camping roads leading from a Fast Travel to a Nation Capital with the sole intent to kill players is allowed for 30 minutes every 6 hours. Fast Travel for the purpose of raiding: Inter-continental fast travel may be used, but carts from capital>city>settlement is off limits. Inter-continental refers to the boats available at the cloud temple, and not nation owned vessels which have received a travel charter. Section 1 (Lawless Raiding), Lawless Banditry would be three or less people killing, robbing and causing chaos within a settlement. The max amount of raiders would be three and the raiders would have a total of 30 minutes to raid and or attack the settlement, this means if they don't find someone in 30 minutes or they can't reach someone in 30 minutes then the raid is automatically over. The cooldown for lawless banditry should range from 1-2 days. Section 2 (Lawful Raiding), Lawful Raiding would be twelve or less people attempting to rescue someone taken captive. They would have 1 hour to rescue the captive and should be allowed to use TNT or ladders, Lawful Raiding should also require GM supervision. Lawful Raiders may not kill citizens but may kill guards or other people of that nature. Lawful Raiders may bypass raid cool-downs. Section 3 (War Raids), War Raids would be a raid on a settlement that is currently at war with the raiders. The raiders would be allowed up to 8 people. The cooldown for war raids should be 4-5 days. Section 4 (Counter Raids), A counter raid may be used in the situation where one or more of your settlements have been recently raided. You may only counter raid against lawless or war raid types and counter raiders are allowed up to 16 people. If the settlement they are raiding is on cooldown then the counter raiders may ignore this and continue on with the raid. Alternatively, they have only 10 minutes to find a player in the region, if that time runs out then they must leave. You may not counter raid a counter raid or a lawful raid. For nations and other such groups with multiple settlements, a counter raid may only be launched in retaliation for the most recent raid and may only be done within 24 hours of the original raid. Forum rules Hide contents No racist or abusive material may be posted at any time, regardless of who it’s aimed at. We’re all here to have fun, and attacking people isn’t alright. Under no circumstances is pornographic material or material considered to be adult content to be posted. Any material posted of this nature will warrant a harsh ban. Do not post material that is illegal in any way. This includes plagiarism and material that infringes copyright. Example: If you take pictures from DeviantArt and claim them as your own, people do notice, and you will be punished. Do not post or link material that may/will cause harm to other people or their computers. This includes ‘screamers’. Swearing is not to be directed at anyone at any time. Ever. Not only is it rude but it is highly offensive. Keep swearing to a minimum and remember to keep it tasteful and within context in RP threads - just like on the server. Do not double post. If you need to change your post or add something extra, then use the edit button. Adding extra posts is classed as spam and may receive a warn. Spamming of any nature is not permitted. This includes posts, status updates and unnecessarily bumping topics. Do not make a post just to correct other people. That’s not polite, and is simply unneeded. Do not, under any circumstances; troll, flame, cause trouble or behave inappropriately. Creating unnecessary drama is not appreciated, and may be punished. Please write in English on the forums, to keep it easy for everyone to read and understand. Appropriate IC languages may be used in the roleplay section, however “txt l1k3 dis” is not acceptable and WRITING IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS can be constituted as flaming if not done in a RP context. Backseat moderating is against the rules. This means doing the job of a moderator when you’re not in a moderating position. Criticism is helpful and helps us try to create a server that everyone can enjoy. If you have criticism, regardless of whether it’s for the staff or other players, make sure it’s given in a constructive way. Furthermore, if you disagree with what a player or staff member is saying, you should remain mature when expressing it. Attempts to belittle players or acting with an overall destructive manner will not be tolerated. Do not use our forums to advertise other forums or servers unless you can display proof of moderator permission. Most sections of the forums, especially the roleplay section have rules specific to them. Please remain aware of these guidelines, as they’re in place to for the benefit of those trying to roleplay. https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/130297-roleplay-post-guidelines/ Try to post things in the right section and when applicable; the right format. If you’re not sure where you should be posting something, don’t be afraid to PM a Forum Moderator or GM. Please keep your signature to a reasonable size. If you want to include a lot of information or pictures, you can use spoilers to prevent it getting the signature getting too large. If your signature is too lengthy, you may have parts removed to stop it clogging up pages. And remember, ignorance is no excuse. The use of “I didn’t know the rules” will not be accepted. If you don’t make yourself familiar with the rules, it’s your own fault if you break them. Especially since we have Forum Moderators and GMs happy to help when you don’t understand something. --------------- Warning Points and Forum Bans If a moderator deems that you have broken any of these rules, are failing to follow the guidelines for sections like the Roleplay forums, or are otherwise behaving in a manner harmful to LotC and its community, they may choose to punish you via the warning system built into the forums. Depending on the severity of your actions, you may receive 0 to 10 warning point. This is up to the discretion of the moderator, and may be influenced by your prior history. When you reach 10 warning points, you will have your Forum AND IG accounts banned. Your first forum ban will last 1 month, however subsequent ones will be greatly extended. When you’re forum-banned, making another account to continue using the forums will not be tolerated. This is akin to ban-evading, and will result in your ban being extended. The ONLY exception to this is making an account specifically for the purpose of appealing your forum ban. If you’re found using this account for any other purpose, it will also be banned. Any forum ban appeals should be formatted and posted like regular bans, and if given by a Forum Moderator should be addressed to the current Forum Moderator Leader. Forum Moderators do not handle ban appeals. Forum bans given by GMs may be addressed to the Forum Moderator Leader or the banning GM. If you believe a warning point you received is unjust, you may send the Forum Moderator Leader or the warning moderator a forum PM to discuss it. There’s no guarantee it will be changed however. Warning points may be appealed after an extended period of good behaviour. If you’re attempting to appeal a point within a month of receiving it or any other warning points, your appeal will not be accepted. Any appeals after this time will be considered based on the behaviour you’ve shown since the warning. When appealing a warning point, it must be appealed to the moderator who originally gave you the point, unless they’re no longer on the staff team. If this is the case, they should be appealed to the current Forum Moderator Leader. It’s preferable that all appeals are done through forum PMs instead of skype or other mediums, so that it can be requisitioned if required. It is NOT necessarily to appeal warning points via the ban appeal methods. --------------- When using LotC’s forums, please remember that this is what represents our server on the internet, and is usually one of the first glimpses of us that potential newcomers will see. We’d like to make a good first impression so that our community can continue to grow, so please do your part to keep the forums clean and tidy.

A Voidal Horror will always want to learn things. It's stuck in a realm where there is only so much that someone of that realm can learn, and will take opportunities to learn about the overworld. By holding a link with you, it will learn everything you have learned, and continue to learn. It will take in what you hear, what you think, what you read. Why would something that thinks it knows everything not want to learn what it previously did not know?
-
Horrors are fed with information. The Horror takes in the information that you give it, being the things you see, read, hear and learn, and due to this makes an agreement with you in order to provide assistance in certain times to help with your learning, indirectly feeding it with knowledge. The Horror takes interest in the particular Cognat and uses that connection in order to learn. As I said above, imagine an audio link wherein the microphone of the horror is disabled. It can talk to you, only when it wants you to do something, and the rest of the time it simply uses you as a proxy to learn knowledge.
-
No. Cognatism has always had this feature. This simply makes it more fleshed out and make more sense, as analysing patterns in things makes things easy to predict things ahead of time. You are not seeing the future, you are making a prediction that can be wrong.
-
Clarification made: One must be a Transfigurationist before they can enchant anything. You must know and be able to enchant to do so with Cognatism.
-
No you cannot enchant a living creature. You can craft a big stone cat head and enchant that?
-
Encouraged, but not necessary. That's correct, yes. Due to the constant flow of information between the mental link, and the Horror's power itself, it's difficult to penetrate. And, of course, should a Mental Mage slip up in the process of connecting (get a bad roll for example), they will connect to the mind of the Horror instead, who will overwhelm them with useless information which will simply shunt them out of the connection and leave them a little dazed.
-
As a short addition: The Voidal Horror is not always communicating with you. This isn't like a Shade Parasite who constantly whispers in your ear. Instead, imagine it like an audio connection. The Horror has it's speakers on, but it's muted his Mic. The Horror will always be able to hear you, and you may speak with it, though it will not be constantly chatting in your ear. The Horror may occasionally speak up and request something of you, though most of the time it will remain silent and simply listen and note down the information you are taking in.
-
Cognatism and Enchants are somewhat down to what you can think of. There is a lot of creative freedom here, and while the Lore Writers (myself and Phil) request that you contact us if you have something you're not sure about in mind, you are able to make more powerful enchants through the use of the Horror. One calls upon the Horror to imbue the object, and if you are already capable of doing so outside of the use of Cognatism, the enchant will simply be a little stronger. Anything you are previously able to enchant without the use of Cognatism is still entirely possible, this is simply another way to do so and will likely be a more potent Enchant. Shucks.

Yes, just like Feeling. You can either learn from a Teacher, or contact the Lore Writers and have it approved for you to Self Teach.
