What is roleplaying?: When someone plays the part of a certain make believe character that they or someone else has created. What is metagaming?: When a roleplayer, in character, has knowledge that their character would not have and uses it for an unfair advantage. What is powergaming?: Power gaming is creating a character with overzealously high stats, all in the aim to either get things done faster, or be more powerful than other characters. Power gaming can also critically lower the amount of player interaction and problems that a particular group/player might encounter. Along with giving your character high stats, power gaming might entail insisting that your character's action was successful, and generally making roleplay unbalanced and less fun for everyone. Character’s name: Annalyn Character’s sex: Female Character’s race: Wood Elf Character’s age: 21 Biography (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.): Annalyn grew up in the town of Laureh'lin, working as a Breeder. Though her childhood was mostly boring, she spent her time playing with her friends where she would imagine endless worlds in which they would adventure. It got to the point where she insisted to her parents that she was a Hobbit, and that she wanted to go out into the world to adventure and explore. As she got older and persisted to act this way, her parents struggled to keep her in check. She would often times get herself into trouble by stealing from other wood elves, claiming that she was a "Burglar". Her parents grounded her on a regular basis, insisting that she spend less time reading her fantasy books. One day, both of her parents simultaneously came down with a fever, and were bedridden for weeks. They both recalled drinking water from a nearby river that had been mostly stagnant, and knew that there wasn't much they could do. Annalyn, however, claimed she knew the real cause of their illness. In a fiction novel she had read, there told of a wicked witch who was never able to bear children of her own, and would cast curses upon healthy families that made her jealous. Upon her parent's death, she swore to one day venture to the "Durham Isles", which the witch came from. In the present day she still lives as a Breeder in Laureh'lin, but is still under the illusion that she is a Hobbit. Personality Traits: Quirky, gleeful and over-enthusiastic about everything. A little strange and obviously slightly insane, considering she thinks she is a made-up race. Ambitions: To become a Burglar and go on a quest to avenge her parents and "help the dwarves get back their gold" Strengths/Talents: Annalyn is very talented with instruments and singing, and is excellent at preparing food. She is also very quiet on her feet, and can sneak around quite easily. Weaknesses/Inabilities: Poor with combat and fighting, and easily frightened. She is also terrified of spiders. She wears a grey dress with gold buttons, and a similar black cloak over top of her dress. As she believes she is a "Hobbit", she does not wear shoes.
