Nicholas Killigrew doesnt seem to understand how or why leading members of the Josephite party would politicise unreserved praise for the ISA. He then remembers that they have been doing exactly that for decades, turning the people of Oren against any opposition to their bloated and inhumane electoral machine. Typical opportunists, after all.

A prerequisite for any successful nation state is a strong military that guides, defends and secures its borders and most important assets. For us, that is our Imperial State Army.
We cannot claim success as an Empire if we do not constantly maintain the very best soldiers and talent in the world. An underfunded, under-resourced and unappreciated army cannot, even though they may bravely try, defend a nation and its peoples.
Through this crisis, our ISA has shown how effective and important it is at maintaining our tapestry of man. Without them, we will surely fall to the ground, and many more lives would have been lost in Helena on this day.
We should come together as a nation to collectively applaud our armed forces, whatever their role may be.
Very little does the Inferni know of the spirit of the Orenian people, the toughness of our soldiers, or of the virtues who have bled to secure the freedom that we enjoy.
This is our time to come together and hold firm as a nation, to support our army, to give them all that they need and more. For it is rigorously apparent that without them we would not be here today.
Many of our people suffer as their homes are burnt, their livelihoods destroyed, and their families are broken. But I know that our armed forces will not flinch or weary from the struggle of freedom -- as difficult as it may be.
The enemy has attacked us on all sides, killed many of our own. But yet, every tragedy brought forth a knight of our Empire. All these deserve our gratitude, who in so many ways are ready to give their lives for their native lands.
Let us prepare ourselves now to do our best by our soldiers, and may all know that better times are to come.

Foreword
Our cause is a moderate one, based in the traditions that have made us the foremost global power, and loyal to the Empress to the end.
We live in a fair and tolerant nation, where we tell all people that they will achieve by their merit. But the reality is that our government is tired and bloated, and unable to find new ideas and new blood. This is not for lack of competence, but because of a decades long influx of ideas. Our amazing people deserve a new vision that is born out of the same ideals of dignity for all, justice, and opportunity.
Our Imperial Diet needs new life. For a fairer Oren, which treats its ISA as they deserve, which invests in our heritage: vote Unionist this election.
UNIONIST VALUES
EQUALITY
Our central vision is of a just society which is founded on fairness of all. We believe in the fundamental right that every man and woman should have equal opportunities in Oren.
OPPORTUNITY
We want all Orenians to have the opportunity to realise their potential and to make the most out of their competence. We want them to participate in their communities, feel valued, and share in our prosperity.
FREEDOM
For the Unionist, freedom is the essential right to fully participate in our public sphere without fear of recourse and violence. We recognise that to have a free and just society, we must support the personal rights of all men.
HERITAGE
We want every Orenian to know their history and to share in our communities richly woven tapestry of man. Without respect for our traditions and our faith, we cannot hope to lead a moral life in the eyes of our God and our Empress.
SOLIDARITY
We recognise the obligations of every citizen to stand as a whole for the good of society. Our solidarity is defined by our compassion for our fellow man, and the responsibility at the heart of who we are.
THE CROWN
Our Imperial Crown is the single greatest institution that this world has ever conceived of. As a party and as a people, we will continue the everlasting struggle to assert the legitimacy of the sovereign in our constitutional monarchy.
As patriots, we will endeavour to always protect our Empress. Our hearts, minds, and loyalty will always be to the Crown and its soldiers. The Unionists fervently support the legal rights of the Crown stated in the Exordium on Imperial Authority. Namely, that the sovereign has ultimately absolute power of state.
Unionist or otherwise, if we all rally around the flag then there is nothing that Orenians cannot do. We will embody that spirit in government.
JOBS, JOBS, JOBS
Whether it be getting people into work for the first time or security in your position, we recognise that to have a working society we must keep our citizens busy and productive.
The Unionists will invest in our people through a long-term infrastructure spending plan, so that we have confidence in our ability to dynamically develop our surroundings and to transport people around the Empire.
The Unionists will always try their best to find a home for every man. We recognise that the only way to have possession of your own destiny is to have a roof that you own over your head. We will invest in building homes that are spacious and still efficient to cater to all groups of Oren.
The Unionists will work with all regions in our nation to develop an economic plan to seed success. We will invest into our regions, and make sure that they have the resources available to continue their work as loyal Orenians.
SUPPORTING SMALL BUSINESS
Small business ventures are the heart of our economy. We want to give practical support to our entrepreneurs so that they can continue to grow.
The Unionists will establish a Small Business Scheme to permanently finance small businesses so that they can invest in our wider success and to assess a new strategy in how the government interacts with its business.
The Unionists believe in buying Orenian, so we will procure armaments and national resources from private business ventures so that work is spread out in a more effective way.
FISCAL MANAGEMENT
At this moment of national change we must have responsible hands on our treasury, demonstrating calm and an analytical path to investment and spending. Our fiscal strategy will carefully manage our public finances, whilst delivering on the core promises of opportunity and prosperity.
We are committed to taking a balanced approach to control our public finances and building our money pot.
Our FIVE POINT PLAN will build areas of the economy to invest back into our people, businesses, our ISA and our government programmes:
Create Jobs: for any working economy we must have a productive population, and that means expanding our public sector and taking a layered approach in letting Orenians organise their own economy without great government meddling.
Invest in our Heritage: our fiscal plan puts the people of Oren first. We need to now invest in our communities, our culture, and our military.
Prepare for the Future: our plan involves investing in the longer-term challenges that we face in the coming decades. The Unionists will responsibly invest in critical public services to ensure our security in a multipolar world. We will prioritise sustainable economic growth and carefully manage our government finances through budget analysis, reviews, a meticulous baseline delivery focus, and value-for-money procurement programmes.
Support Small Businesses: we need to back our business with practical boosts to our economic sectors so that Orenian entrepreneurs can be at the top of their game.
Find Our Place in the World: the Unionists will position our nation on the global stage so as to trade with our friends and invest in our allies, so that we can find our place and take a head start.
INVESTING IN OUR CULTURE
Our creative industry is the envy of the world and a source of national pride to us, a driver of business and investment, and a symbol of the type of country we are. Rallying under the flag of Oren, we can make our culture accessible and apparent to all.
We will establish a brand new Office for Culture, serving a wider Arts and Culture Council and pouring in a massive spending programme to invest through a Heritage Fund. Our programme will be the biggest arts infrastructure investment in the history of Oren, with a hope to transform our creative sector through a targeted education plan.
We will invest in our heritage, allowing every citizen to access our history and the symbols that make our nation great through art displays and national fetes.
The Unionists will end the cuts to our cultural sector and re-envision the way that libraries and museums work.
The Unionists will launch a ‘Tailoring Campaign’ with a view to subsidise the expense of garments and clothing across the nation, giving every Orenian access to a sturdy pair of boots and good clothes.
The Unionists will back a National Arms Scheme to give affordable grants to businesses and entrepreneurs exploring the rich heritage of our heraldic achievements.
EQUALITY
The Unionists are dedicated to achieving an Oren where no-one is alienated, where politics and people can come together. As a government, we will consistently stand in solidarity with all demographics, including women, other races and intelligent non-persons.
The Unionists will tackle society’s burning injustices, boosting legal representation for those not legally allowed to represent themselves, such as intelligent non-persons.
We will invest massively in reforming the justice system to ensure that every trial is fair and free of bias, and that you can get legal representation if you want it. The Unionists will ensure that legal aid is a given in all circumstances.
A Unionist government will establish an inquiry into the viability of enshrining further rights of man into our legal system.
As a party, we strongly condemn all forms of racism. Canonist dignity and integrity teaches that we treat all people with respect, and in government we will do just that.
For many decades the dignity of those people maimed and injured has been degraded. The Unionists will champion the cause of those in society who have been handicapped through no fault of their own, giving them a path into public service and beyond.

OPENING GOVERNMENT
The Unionists recognise that Oren’s politics need to change. Our tired democracy has produced career politicians and an echo-chamber of legislation where nothing changes. Again and again, the Orenian people have been taught to expect little, and get less.
The Unionists support calls to reorganise the Ministry of Justice and will aid the restoration of the Imperial Constabulary in order to guarantee that the imperial law is properly enforced throughout all the Empire.
The Unionists wholeheartedly support calls to remove the Ministry of Civil Affairs and the Ministry of War from the political machine as to restore the integrity and the impartiality of their offices.
After almost half a century, our scrutinisation of government is no more advanced than it was then. Our promised open and transparent government is nowhere to be seen. Politicians are not held accountable for their actions. Government positions are given out by the bucket load. The Imperial Diet is still the plaything of the career politician.
Orenians are the ones that pay the price for excessive regulation agendas. The control on people's lives is far greater now than at any point in recent history.
The Unionists will crack open our civil service, ensuring that every servant of the nation must swear an oath of service, committing themselves to non-partisanship and neutrality above all. A free and fair transition of government cannot happen if our bureaucracy is diseased with political appointees.
The Unionists will make the civil service representative of all demographics of Oren by opening up applications publicly, as well as establishing an ‘Imperial Test’ to assess candidate competence, ensuring that future generations of Orenians are well served by their bureaucracy.
We will introduce a Freedom of Information Act to allow any citizen to directly hold politicians and ministers to account by law.
We will establish an Ethics Committee run by ordinary citizens and selected at random in order to facilitate debate and open inquiries into the way that government is conducted.
SECURITY AND THE MILITARY
The Unionists understand the sacrifices made by Imperial State Army personnel and veterans. Without them, we would not exist as a nation. Their unparalleled dedication and service should be held up as a standard for all the world to see. A Unionist Government will be there for the military, forever, and with no strings attached.
We will establish an Office for Veteran’s Affairs and we will guarantee a paid place for veterans in any public service role that they apply for. A Unionist Government will use the Office to create a plan of housing and property allocation, with a view for vacant land loaned in trust to honourably discharged veterans.
We will constantly invest in training and the best equipment for our Imperial State Army, and constantly champion their contribution to our nation through a legislated national holiday for fallen soldiers, national parades, and festivals displaying our military prowess.
The Unionists will create a national review of our military capabilities, followed by the establishment of a Doctrine and Concepts Office in order to work with a range of experts to help inform defence strategy, doctrine and operational level Orenian thematic publications.
THE HERITAGE OF A NATION
We recognise that education makes our country stronger and increases the bonds which hold us together as Orenians.
We will create a National Education Council to ensure oversight and coordination of continuous improvement in our educational facilities alongside the Secretary for Civil Affairs. We will establish an Imperial University, so that we may increase the standard of our peoples education and consistently adapt to the fast changing pace of our demographics.
We will invest real money into the establishment of internships schemes for aspiring professionals in public services. A Unionist government will recognise the potential of every Orenian to serve their nation.
The Unionists will restore the legacy of Simon Basrid and conduct a review into the revival of Fabric of State lectures to teach our citizens about the importance of moderation in government, the exercise of prudence, and living simply with God.
CONCLUSIONS
This is our plan for a stronger Oren and a more prosperous future for everyone. Our vision of the Empire is one that is safe, united and free. One that continues to be moderate, intolerant to corruption, and dedicated to a government that can be accountable to its citizens.
We seek to overturn the radicalism of the past. We hold dear the founding principles of the Josephite Union. But as Edward Selm once wrote, “the Josephite clings to the Imperial Crown, the establishment, and pretends to absorb themself into it.” We must embody the vision of a constitutional monarchy like our predecessors, but we must not let corruption destroy our systems and our fairness.
This election will determine the course of our lives. In this moment of key national change, the Unionists will seek to provide the stability and security that this nation needs. For the justice of all Orenians.

THE UNIONIST PARTY
“For God, Crown and Empire”
We have had the same government for decades now, and it is tiring. The shutters of government have closed, the doors to parliament locked up. The truancy of those who govern has put hundreds in malaise and locked out the ordinary Orenian citizen. Oren feels stagnant; Oren is stagnant. Our constitutional monarchy is threatened with radical reform. The keys to our bureaucracy are given away freely. Now is the time to stop the slacking, reset the clock, and start doing better.
Our principles:
We strive for a more perfect union which operates under the maintenance of social order and not the coercive threat of the sword.
We believe in the basic tenets of serving God and the Empress with all our might; doing justice to orphans, strangers, the outcast and the needy; to rule our lands with wisdom and tranquility.
We believe in the obligation to publicly witness the power of righteousness and moderation which God requires of all men, even in government.
We believe in the rights of all men to find their place in society without distinction to their class and rank.
We believe in living simply, and the virtues that come from rejecting the excess of the material.
We know the vices that greed and hunger are, and those same moral corruptions that come from living in excess.
To follow these guiding principles, we will carry out the following flagship proposals:
Intolerant to Corruption, by having open and public applications for government functions, implementing policies that invite as many subjects and cultures to our government as possible, and the establishment of an ethics committee run by ordinary people.
Trusting our Soldiers, by decreasing the bureaucratic burden on ISA soldiers, by increasing their autonomy, and by establishing a plan of farmland allocation to veterans . We furthermore will legislate a national holiday to honour fallen soldiers, and treat them as they deserve to be: as our nation's bravest and most loyal imperial subjects.
Reforming Responsibly, with the goal ever in sight of creating a more perfect union which is one with itself and God.
Guiding our morals, through establishing a Ministry of Culture, improving our archives & avoiding us becoming a greyish goo of uniformity by celebrating our diversity.
Ending the Stagnancy, by simplifying the rules and procedures in all circles of government, by making more use of our court systems, and by being a government that does not control the lives of its subjects.

THE PEACE OF MERRYWEATHER, 1780
Treaty between the Holy Orenian Emperor and
the King of Sutica and their respective allies.
PREAMBLE
Be it known to all whom it may concern, and in the name of God:
That in years past our Descendant peoples have been embroiled in lengthy and disastrous wars within and without, and that these civil divisions and violent discords have been stirred within our hearts so that all conflicts have been magnified beyond their original scope and intention.
We have suffered a loss of Descendant blood over conflict of years passed, and long forgotten by living peoples, and in these circumstances we have seen the desolation of territories, kingdoms, and empires.
From this conflict two sides emerged with intent to drive the other into the sea, neglecting the prosperity of their peoples in peace, and maligned to see hellfire upon each of their belligerents.
And in this dark night the Church of the Canon has committed itself to tranquility between nations and peoples of all blood, such is the disposition of His Holiness that we now end our feuds, replacing them with domestic and international tranquility.
For this purpose we hereby mutually agree and bind to this covenant, in the year 1780, a peace of both parties with the following articles consented to fully.

Vice-Chancellor Amadeus Cardinal Sutica
The Church of the Canon, harbouring such thoughts of peace, did call a series of assemblies amongst plenipotentiary ambassadors in the year 1778. On the one side, and on behalf of His Imperial Majesty, His Excellency Sir Simon Basrid KCS, Imperial Archchancellor. On behalf of the Sutican State, His Royal Majesty Corwin von Alstreim, Trade Monarch of the Free State of Sutica. And by mediation of His Excellency Amadeus d’Aryn, Vice-Chancellor to the High Pontiff, who had been inclined to be an impartial mediator in the peace. The peace herein was agreed to and publicated in 1780.
ARTICLE I.
That the Basrid Ministry, on behalf of the Holy Orenian Empire, acknowledges concession of strategic aim and fault in escalation of this war, particularly in light of the Inferi invasion, and endeavors to adhere to the terms of the General Concordat for Canonist States in the future, that such a conflict does not repeat; and that its challenge to Sutican sovereignty is put to an end and all forces are withdrawn from this effort, dismissing all previously raised points of contention with that government, and seeks to restore historical diplomatic relations per the Treaty of Sutica, 1543, naming Amadeus d’Aryn as its ambassador to the Sutican government.
ARTICLE II.
That there shall be a Canonist peace which is universal, perpetual and sincere, between His Imperial Majesty and His Royal Majesty; and also between all respective allies, and that this will be true for His Imperial Majesty, the House of Helane, its heirs and successors; as will it be true for His Royal Majesty, the House von Alstreim, and the Sutican government’s heirs and successors.
ARTICLE III.
That there shall be a declaration from His Holiness, the High Pontiff James II that all sins are to be absolved and all crimes pardoned since the beginning of the conflict, as well as a general amnesty to all belligerents; and that there shall not be hostilities by way of persons, governments or militaries, neither of themselves or by others, directly or indirectly, privately or otherwise. That the King of Sutica will extradite the remains of Peter Amadeus and the Countess Pompourelia to the Holy Orenian Empire, for a Canonist burial.
ARTICLE IV.
That none who are a signatory of this treaty shall provide armaments, soldiers, money or protection to enemies of other signatories to this treaty in the future, and shall abjure those belligerents should they make themselves known.
ARTICLE V.
That in future controversies arising, arbitrators shall be nominated and upheld by both sides, giving favor to the Church of the Canon, and that all possible friendly means of diplomacy shall be exhausted entirely before any hostile action.
ARTICLE VI.
That the territories and estates owned by the signatories shall be left at the full liberty and disposal of their masters and that their rights to sovereignty shall not be infringed upon; and that no external Lord shall make an attempt to exert themselves upon the sovereign territory of another. That finally the signatories of the treaty mutually recognize the legitimacy of their respective monarchs within their own realms, and the processes governing their successions.
ARTICLE VII.
That according to the general amnesty, all prisoners on either side, without distinction to status, shall be released and allowed to be restored peacefully to their homes without damage or delay
ARTICLE VIII.
That pursuant to the Palatine Concordat, as soon as this peace has been signed all hostilities shall immediately cease and parties shall put all that has been written into execution; and that all remaining troops that are making war be discharged and placed elsewhere by each party. That all parties agree to ratify this peace.
ARTICLE IX.
That no soldier or garrison shall oppose the execution of this peace, but that it shall be promoted; and that any ordeal to the contrary shall be suppressed by all parties and executors of this treaty.
ARTICLE X.
That they who shall contravene this peace or oppose its execution, or by the promulgation of laws, decrees, edicts, adjudications, appeals or exemptions that go against the spirit of the treaty after ratification has been made; he shall be declared an infringer of the peace and punishment shall be taken against them. That likewise all parties shall be obliged to defend and protect all articles of this peace.
Done and concluded the 4th of Horen’s Calling, 1780.

- Any attempt by the Josephite Union to degrade or destroy our Imperial States authority through federalism is ended. ✅
- Any attempt by the Josephite Union to establish a constitution to limit our Imperial Majesty’s authority is ended. ✅
- Any attempt by the Josephite Union to pursue a radical social agenda to destroy Orenian society is forbidden. ✅

ELECTION CANCELLATION AND BALLOT NULLIFICATION

The opinion of the Supreme Court of the Holy Orenian Empire, as delivered by the Right Honorable, Justice d’Aryn, is as follows;
The Honorable, Mr. Samuel T. Savoyard, henceforth referred to as Mr. Savoyard, filed a suit shortly after the declaration of electoral cancellation and rescheduling was announced to the citizens of the Holy Orenian Empire, wherein the Supreme Court of the Holy Orenian Empire, henceforth referred to as the Court, has granted reviewal on the basis of the following arguments;
The Honorable, Mr. Savoyard states within his filing to the Court that the Secretary of Civil Affairs does not contain the right to cancel nor reschedule the electoral process of the Imperial Diet, as denoted within the Council of State Edict of Establishment, as reinforced and clarified by the Pompourelian Reforms.
The Honorable, Mr Savoyard further states within his request to the Court that the Secretary of Civil Affairs does not contain the right to discard and nullify ballots that stands within the legal bounds of the Oren Revised Code, henceforth the ORC, wherein the Honorable, Mr. Savoyard argues that such action is against the principles of the ORC CH301.041 ‘The Right to Suffrage’;
301.041 - Citizens of the nation shall maintain the right to suffrage in national elections. [Oren Revised Code, CH301 ‘On Personhood’]
It is the opinion of the Court that language of the article is clear, that all citizens within the Holy Orenian Empire shall throughout the electoral process contain the right of suffrage and thereby the right to vote within all national elections.
The Council of State argues within their Amicus Brief, as submitting to the Court, that all cancellation throughout the election of seventeen ninety-four is validated through the following argument as denoted within the brief;
“Furthermore, to permit the proper procedure of the elections to occur, the Crown is explicitly given direct control over the Diets summon process, therein the national elections, and is thereby allowed to execute orders in relation to the election. Within the following cite is found the explicit control of the Diets summon, therein the national elections;
602.043 - The Crown, expressed in the person of His Imperial Majesty the Holy Orenian Emperor, is the linchpin of the reformed system. He shall call the Imperial Diet to session through a summons. In respect to the House of Commons, this is expressed through a national election. In respect to the House of Lords, this is expressed through his appointees. As a session of the Imperial Diet draws to its conclusion for one reason or another, the Crown shall dissolve the Imperial Diet. When the Crown summons the Imperial Diet again, the process is repeated. A session of the legislature shall sit for an amount of time that is flexible. [Oren Revised Code, CH602 ‘On the Imperial Diet’]
Upon the report of the Chancellor of the Elections to his Majesty, the Holy Orenian Empire Joseph II, wherein the Chancellor verbally reported an amount of fraudulent votes of an amount upwards of twenty-five percent, found throughout the process noted above, were present within the elections of seventeen ninety-four, the Holy Orenian Emperor elected to utilize the rights of the above denotion from the Oren Revised Code to halt the entirety of the election. Wherein such pause of the election would permit the Ministry of Civil Affairs, in cooperation with his Majesty, the Holy Orenian Emperor Joseph II, and the Chancellor of Elections to find further ways to improve the safety of the elections of seventeen ninety-four prior to moving forward with the elections itself and thereby ensure the truthful will and voice of the people are heard prior to calling the results of the election of seventeen ninety-four. Wherein the Court recognizes the power of the monarch, in this scenario his Majesty Joseph II, permits the electoral process to be cancelled through the order of the monarch, and thereby invalidate the argument presented throughout the first section of the Amicus Brief submitted to the Court by the Honorable, Mr. Savoyard.
However, it is the opinion of the Court, that the Amicus Brief submitted to the Court by the Council of State does not provide legal argumentation against the points brought forth within the second and third section of the Amicus Brief submitted to the Court by the Honorable, Mr Savoyard, wherein the Court sees the following notion as accurate to the principles of law;
“Now, one may be misled into believing Civil Affairs has this authority from their ability to discard fraudulent votes. However, this is because fraudulent ‘ballots’ are merely forgeries of legal documents, and are not legally binding themselves. The Secretary of Civil Affairs, per the Orenian Revised Code, has a duty to certify legal documents, and it is this duty that is exercised when fraudulent ballots are thrown out:
601.099 - The power to approve or deny the certification of any binding legal documents within the Holy Orenian Empire. [Oren Revised Code, CH601 ‘On the Council of State’]
However, this is not what happened in the act under judicial review. The Secretary had already certified the ballots and determined which were authentic and which were not, and then His Excellency threw out all of them without regard for their authenticity. This means the Secretary threw out ballots that were already determined as legitimate, and therefore were legally binding. Throwing out certified ballots was outside of His Excellency’s authority with regards to certification(as that duty/power ends once the ballot is certified), and it was the unlawful destruction of legally binding documents. In consideration of the above the Supreme Court of the Holy Orenian Empire, as delivered by the Right Honorable, Justice d’Aryn, sees fit to conclude;
On the Cancellation and Resumption of the Election - It shall remain the right of the monarch, as denoted within the principles mentioned above, to rightfully summon, dissolve and cancel all forms of national elections held within the Holy Orenian Empire, and thereby rules against the Honorable, Mr Savoyard to resume the electoral process of seventeen ninety-four.
On the Power of the Secretary of Civil Affairs to Discard Legal Ballots - The Court sees fit to rule in favor of the judicial review, as submitted by Mr. Savoyard, wherein the Secretary of Civil Affairs is not permitted to nullify ballots wherein their legitimacy has been confirmed prior to the nullification, as such shall be in violation of the principles of law wherein the right to suffrage and right to vote, combined with the clarification provided through the Pompourelian Reforms, explicitly prevents the Secretary of Civil Affairs to take the mentioned action within the electoral process of the Holy Orenian Empire.
