Elsillumiran – The Weeping Blades “We wear masks so that we may hide our shame. Beneath the gold of our crafted faces, our tears well and fall like rain in summer. There is no pride in our hearts. There is no joy in ending life. There is no righteousness in the blade, and the bow. Our sacrifice is for our people, our city, and the maehr'sae hiylun'ehya.” Elsillumiran have long been the diligent guardians of blessed Haelun'or. Disciplined and resolute in their commitment to the maehr'sae hiylun'ehya, the Weeping Blades stand in an everlasting vigil safeguarding the walls of the city, ensuring that none who might wish harm upon her denizens see their way past. Serving beneath the command of Eltilruir’tir, whose purpose stands twofold - to ward against threats both abroad and domestic - they answer to the Silver Council and are sworn to upkeep the tenets which constitute the maehr’sae hiylun’ehya and the law of the Silver State. Recent History With the advent of the Evarir’thilln, Elillumiran were reorganized into a structure more befitting of a militaristic status. No longer serving as guardians - domestic peacekeepers ensuring the safety of Haelun’or and her citizens - the Weeping Blades were subject to sweeping reforms which gripped Haelun’or in a time of violence and bloodshed. Spurred on by extremist elements, Haelun’or did so willingly embrace such impurities and campaigned against elf and dwarf alike. This malfeasance wrought lasting consequence upon the nation, and served as the ingress to atrocities such as the killing of Andrik Vydra which cemented Haelun’or’s downward spiral. Rendered naught more than bound in servitude; beneath the heel of foreign oppression did Haelun’or involuntarily continue down a path of self-destruction. Elsillumiran became little more than fodder in the manifold wars which plagued the Orenian Kingdom, clinging onto the boorish practices instilled by the doctrine of Elevarir’thilln. This came to a head in the so-called ‘Dukes War’, in the aftermath of which Haelun’or secured itself as an independent entity anew. Yet, Haelun’or wilted. Beset within by the machinations of various political blocs, it was torn asunder by disunion - only splinters remained. The Elibar’acals, who inherited the blessed legacy of Larihei, failed to uphold the maehr’sae hiylun’ehya and it was so that the Silver City of Lin’sulan was established. The heart of a nation, however, could not thrive without order. Such was the statute of the council, that Elsillumiran were to be wholly reformed. A shameful burden, yet one of necessity; to take up truncheon and blade, to maintain the peace and ensure that the corrupting influence of impure filth could not roost beneath the very noses of Mali’thill. The Code of Elsillumiran Initiation Ranks Purpose With the total demobilization of Haelun’or’s military arm, Elsillumiran stand to return to their initial purpose before the reforms of the Weeping Swordsman and Rael Ith’ael were implemented: Peacekeepers. The Silver State is borne wholly by the Silver Law, which is rooted within the maehr’sae hiylun’ehya. Thusly, their duties are imperative to the health and well-being of the people of Haelun’or. Entrusted with maintaining the security of the Silver State and its denizens; Elsillumiran police the streets, their purpose to perpetuate dutiful behavior amongst Elmali’thill. Elsillumiran are expected to investigate claims of moral degradation amongst their fellow citizens; an undertaking which is not taken lightly. They stand as the Council’s arm to enforce the maehr’sae hiylun’ehya, for the ideals of those who disregard purity and tradition spread like a cancer and must be summarily dealt with. Woe be upon the unfortunate soul to instigate the wroth of elsillumiran, for those masked beneath the guise of cold steel know not open remorse and there is no hesitation in their conduct for they know what is required; that illness must be removed at the source. On Uniforms and Anonymity Elsillumiran, with the advance of recent reforms, are expected to maintain their anonymity in the line of duty. Known only to their fellows, superiors and to the Silver Council - they carry out their duties under a visage of steel, and are thusly expected to don their masks whilst operation as sillumiran. This prevents the vigilant guardians of the Silver State from facing ostracization for the burden they carry. Violence in the defense of the maehr’sae hiylun’ehya is a nessecary impurity, one which Elsillumiran shamefully accept. The only name openly disclosed to the citizenry is that of Eltilruir’tir. The latest standardized rendition of Elsillumiran uniform, circa 1547. Commands Form of Applicancy Those who express interest in the defense of the ideals of Haelun’or may fill out the following application and submit it to the office of Eltilruir’tir for review. Name: ((MC Name)): Age: Do you possess citizenship in Haelun'or? How long have you resided in Haelun’or? Will you place the wellbeing of Haelun'or and the maehr'sae hiylun'ehya before any individual desires of your own? ((All applications posted are only viewable in-characterly by those with sufficient permissions; i.e the Silver Council.))
