What is roleplaying?: Roleplaying is when people act as characters in creating a story, immersing oneself into a role and playing it out. What is metagaming?: Metagaming is when you use out-of-character information to help your own or someone else’s in-game character. For example, if someone were to warn you of an incoming raid OOC, and you acted on this information to be better prepared, it would be considered metagaming. Another example would be if you are already under attack and you call your friend to reinforce your team. What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: Powergaming is when you force unavoidable actions on another character, giving yourself an unfair advantage. For example, if you take actions such as killing another character without allowing them the chance to defend themselves, it would be considered powergaming. A better way to do it would be attempting to kill them, and letting the other character try to defend themselves. Remember to add three references to the server lore.): (where does your character come from?; where have they traveled to?; what year were they born in? et cetera.): Born in 1493 within the Grand Kingdom of Urguan, Jalavic had what he considered to be a rough childhood. Before he was even a man he was forced to flee Athera along with many others, to seek a new home in Vailor. Jalavic did what he could to help establish and defend Kal’Akash, turning mostly to blacksmith apprenticeship for work. But with the sudden loss of both the Grand King Balek and the Grand Marshal Jorik, Kal’Akash fell into dark times. Soon, Skippy was nominated as Grand King. Verthaik and the Mountain Monarchy opposed his nomination and led attacks against Kal’Akash, which eventually ended in the Monarchy’s defeat. Skippy was finally crowned Grand King in 1521, on the same week as Jalavic’s 28th birthday. History was doomed to repeat; they faced a battle for their lives and land, their king was murdered, and a new election was held. This time Uldar became Grand King, but abandoned his throne leaving Gauldrim in charge, who was eventually removed from power by force. In present day, Jalavic still resides within the walls of Kal’Akash, with the intent to venture outside the kingdom and explore the land as a roaming blacksmith. He has considered travelling to many places, one of them being Lin’Sulan, where he has heard he may have the opportunity to live among high elves and others in harmony. Personality Traits: (what are your character's quirks?; habits?; likes and dislikes?): Jalavic is at home in the earth, and prefers to keep both feet firmly on the ground. He is a skilled miner and enjoys collecting minerals and precious stones. He enjoys his drink quite a bit, some might think he enjoys it maybe too much but who are they to say? Jalavic hates worms. Ambitions: (what does your character aspire to be?): Jalavic has dreamed of becoming a renowned travelling blacksmith since his youth, to produce the finest wares for heroes. Strengths/Talents: (what is your character really, really good at?): Jalavic spent much of his younger life assisting blacksmiths, be it digging up materials or forging weapons. Weaknesses/Inabilities: (what is a skill that your character needs to work on?): Jalavic prefers to stay on land. He is not very fond of the concept of flying or swimming. Appearance: (what does your character look like?; how tall are they?; hair color?; scars?): 3'8", eyes that burn like dying embers, Bald with a long, flowing, fiery red beard strewn with golden jewelry.
