It makes roleplaying a lot more enjoyable if the other players are being courteous. Are there any rule(s) that confuse you or don’t make sense? (if so we can help clear it up!): I'm unfamiliar with the combat system, but I'm sure some in-game practice would clear things up quickly. I would also like to know what types of magic are learnable and if there is a system for crime and punishment? How did you find out about Lord of the Craft?: Funnily enough, I tried to sign up in 2012 because I was looking for a fantasy-based server, but my application was denied and I never got to experience it (I read over it again, and it's cringe-worthy). I decided I'd try and get back into Minecraft and I enjoy roleplaying on MMO's so I figured I would try out Lord Of The Craft seeing as I'm more mature then I was then. It could even be described as improvisational theater. What is metagaming?: Metagaming is using Out Of Context information to give your character an advantage that they logically shouldn't have. What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: Powergaming is forcing another player's character into an action or state, especially without their consent or chance to retaliate to your action. In-Character Information Character’s name: (what do you want your character to be called?) Merthella Elenmire. Often shortened to "Merth" by people close to her. Character’s sex: (male or female?) Female Character’s race: (you can find all the playable races here.) Wood Elf (Her father's father is High Elven) Character’s age: (upon application, your character must be 18 or older, and depending on the race, they can be over five hundred years old!) 43 Years Old Biography (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add three references to the server lore.): (where does your character come from?; where have they traveled to?; what year were they born in? et cetera.) Merthella was born in the year 1504, on the outskirts of Laureh'lin where she stayed until the descendant races left Athera for The Isles Of Vailor. She has no memory of this time because of her young age. Once in Vailor she stayed on the north side of Laurelin with her mother Edhuidhal, who is an accomplished master of druid magic. Shortly after leaving Athera, her father grew very ill and is currently bedridden and weak as her mother's magic struggles to keep him alive on a daily basis. She was very rebellious as a child and often got into trouble before channeling her youth into combat training. She apprenticed under a Heartlander blacksmith in her late teens and stayed there for 3 years, learning the trade. It was at this time that her brother left to pursue alchemical arts. After honing the skill well enough, she crafted herself a suit of armor and began work as a freelance bodyguard, escorting people to wherever they needed to go for a price. Despite having a steady supply of escorts, she has not yet explored The Isles Of Vailor fully, only getting as far as Lorraine. She was arrested coming back to Laureh'lin as one of the merchants she was protecting had a cart of stolen goods and she was found technically guilty by accomplice. Because of her lack of knowledge of the stolen goods, she was only banished for 10 years instead of the full term. In exile, she spent most of her time surviving in the wilderness and travelling to ask about her brother, of which no one has heard anything about. When she finally returned home, she found that Edhuidhal had fallen ill to the same disease her father got and they both passed, leaving their possessions to Merthella. After reading her mother's material, she sold everything in the house as it only served as a painful reminder that she was not there to save her parents. To this day, Merthella has no technically home and travels throughout the Isles in pursuit of amusement and experience. Personality Traits: (what are your character's quirks?; habits?; likes and dislikes?) Despite the agile mannerisms of the Wood Elves, Merthella is keen to wearing heavy armor and feels unnaturally vulnerable without it. She also prefers to use blades or axes as opposed to the trademark archery of the Wood Elves. This mild paranoia is likely a cause of her Insomnia and her reluctance to open up to strangers. She is hardly interested in a relationship at the moment, and is strictly attracted to other females, though her ability to shut off her emotions leaves little room for this to be expressed. She has a habit of pushing herself too far in any training, often to the point of obsession, staying up for nights on end and forgetting to eat. This is due to a constant feeling that she can always be better than she is now and out of spite. When she is with people she's known for long periods of time and she trusts, another form of her comes out. This Merthella is highly sociable and can be seen laughing with her companions as anyone else would and is actually very keen to having fun. She is quite intelligent and has an understanding of magic, though she doesn't have the knowledge to use any at the moment. Dislikes haughty people and has a general and mild mistrust of High Elves. Ambitions: (what does your character aspire to be?) Merthella is inspired to protect the people she cares about from harm and feels that failure in this is her fault and hers alone. She also has an ambitious drive to advance herself in knowledge and her skills often working as a temporary guard for clients in exchange for practical knowledge. She wishes to travel and see all of the world as her father once did. Having shunned her mother's druidic affinities at a young age, she regrets not embracing a magical background and one day hopes to learn magic for use. She would also like to find her older brother Esnirin who left to become an alchemist and has not been heard of since. Strengths/Talents: (what is your character really, really good at?) She has a natural affinity for playing the lute, which she enjoys in her spare time as well as a knack for being able to read situations well. Having devoted her time to physical combat training from an early age, she is quite advanced with melee weapons. She can manipulate her own emotions in order to get what she wants, though prefers to keep out of trouble. Having traveled, she has general knowledge of the world around her and useful information she's picked up from her clients (ie: a blacksmith taught her how to use whetstones, etc). She also stores her money in a safe location, rather than spending it. Having worn it for most of her life, she can move nimbly in armor. Weaknesses/Inabilities: (what is a skill that your character needs to work on?) She is often brash when trying to communicate with people and has been told that she is hardened. She is extremely stubborn when it comes to her own matters but is very open when it comes to the consequences that may affect others. Her hunger for knowledge is ravenous and when she is desperate she will do anything for that knowledge, thus this is one of the only ways she may be easily manipulated. In conflict, she will ultimately hold allegiance with whatever side benefits her more but may do so with remorse, especially if this results in a betrayal. She hates the taste of pork and is color deficient to certain hues of purple and maroon. She has a limited knowledge of the history of the world due to her sheltered upbringing. Has insomnia and mild paranoia and often feels unsafe without her armor on. Appearance: (what does your character look like?; how tall are they?; hair color?; scars?) Merthella has sharp facial features and her skin is considerably for Wood Elf standards, though still darker than the average Human. Standing at 6'2", her hair is naturally a chestnut color, though she prefers to dye it a vivid red, keeping it down just past her shoulders and it becomes generally unkempt. One leg is slightly longer than another, though even she hardly notices this, shifting her weight from one to the other when standing for extended periods of time. Her eyes are an amber color with flecks of green. She also has several white-ish scars on her knuckles from rigorous training sessions and dark circles are beginning to show under her eyes. Skin: (please provide us a screenshot of your character’s skin; if you need help, see our screenshot guide here.) I can also create a darker skin variant if needed to signify that she is a Wood Elf. There are also pointed ears on either side of her head.
